I do this job every summer and every summer the first week is always so freaking stressful. AAAAHHHHH! But if anyone in the New England area wants to see some great theatre let me know!

Wednesday night the couple found themselves back at work at The Candy Store. Jane sat at the bar talking to Max while the bartender stocked up for the evening.
"She took me to Martha's Vineyard and rented a house on the beach. It was amazing!" Jane said as she recounted their anniversary weekend to her boss.
"Did she tell you about how she took me on the beach where anyone could've seen us?" Maura – having donned her platinum blonde wig to become her alter ego Erin - asked as she appeared behind Jane and wrapped her arms around her shoulders.
Jane instantly started blushing, "No! No I didn't! I was planning to leave those details – and all details like that – out of it!" She said over her shoulder.
"It's not that surprising to hear," Max said with a shrug. "After all the times that you two have fooled around in the alley it seems pretty obvious that neither of you are all that nervous about being caught."
"You've seen us?" Erin exclaimed, though she didn't blush like Jane whose cheeks were becoming an even deeper crimson.
Max smiled, "No, but I doubt that much else can put that smug, shit eating grin on Jane's face."
Erin bellowed with laughter as Jane groaned and buried her head in her folded arms, "Oh God, this is not happening."
"I know you can take care of yourself Rizzoli but you might have a hard time fending off some drunk asshole that stumbles upon you if you're hands are busy elsewhere." Max said with a smirk a she stepped into the back room.
Jane buried her head impossibly deeper into her arms – hoping if she tried hard enough she could become invisible. Erin leaned down and spoke softly into her ear,
"She's gone. You can come out now."
It took a little more coaxing before Jane showed her still blushing face. Erin decided to quickly change the subject rather then embarrass her girlfriend further.
"I need you to do me a favor." The dancer stated.
Jane answered simply, "Anything."
The wigged woman reached into her pocket and then brought her hands over Jane's shoulders. Each hand held the end of a necklace, her promise ring hung from the center of the chain.
"I can't wear this while I dance," She reminded her as she fastened the clasp at the back of the brunette's neck, "And as much as I love the girls I don't exactly want to leave it in the dressing room either."
"I will keep it safe." Jane said with a grin as she turned on her barstool. She wrapped her arms around the other woman's waist and pulled her so that she was standing between her knees. She might be sporting a platinum blonde wig as her alter ego but looking into those green eyes made Jane's heart swell. Pure Maura, she thought to herself.
The dancer took Jane's face in her hands and smiled. She kissed her softly before making her exit back to the dressing room.
Wednesday was not normally a wild night but the end of the school year and the start of the summer seemed to bring out the crazies. Jane and the team of bouncers had already thrown out two guys and it was barely past midnight. Weekdays were usually the nights that Jane could sit back and enjoy watching her girlfriend dance – as much as one could enjoy it while dozens of other people shared the experience.
Jane stepped back into the bar to find that Erin's third set had begun. Her eyes followed her as she moved across the stage in a familiar routine. Her mesh top had been discarded and soon her bra would follow. At any other time Jane's mouth would water as she watched those breasts drop free of their burier but knowing that so many other people were having that reaction to her girlfriend's body made her mouth go dry.
Erin made her way over a group of drunken frat guys that Jane had been keeping a close eye on all night. She watch closely as the dancer shook and shimmied as one guy reached to put a bill in her g-string.
Life after that seemed to happen in slow motion.
The drunk college student grabbed hold of Erin's g-string and easily ripped the flimsy piece of fabric from the dancer's body. Jane and other bouncers leapt from their posts to rush to the woman's aid but before they could reach her she was thrown over the man's shoulder. So inebriated, the man could not balance her additional weight and the two came crashing to the floor.
The bar erupted in chaos. Bouncers were pulling customers away from the two fallen people as fast as they could. The head bouncer, Jeff, got to Erin first and quickly set her back onto the stage and out of harms away. Jane knew that she should go to her girlfriend but her rage pushed her towards the frat boy who had laid hands on her. Pulling him up by the collar of his shirt with her right hand, Jane slammed the knuckles of her left hand into this face. She got a few good punches in before she felt herself being hauled away from him.
"Go to your girl." Jeff said as he moved the now bleeding college kid and the rest of his fraternity brothers towards the door.
Jane looked up but saw no sign of Erin – or any of the dancers for that matter. She rushed towards the dressing room and didn't bother knocking before she burst through the door. The group of dancers parted to reveal Erin sitting at her dressing room table cradling her left wrist. They had helped her put a pair of shorts on but her breasts were still exposed.
"Are you ok, baby?" Jane asked frantically as she knelt in front of her.
"My wrist really hurts." It was obvious that the dancer was choking back tears.
"We will take you to the hospital and get it checked out." The brunette said as she reached up to wipe away a stray tear.
Erin hiccupped – the damn of tears breaking – "I don't have insurance."
"I will cover all the costs." No one had seen Max enter the room until she spoke.
"See, babe, everything is going to be fine." Jane said with an encouraging smile. Her face changed in an instant as she remembered how Erin's g-string had been ripped from her body. "Did he…I know he obviously touched you but did…"
The dancer lifted her uninjured hand to her girlfriend's cheek. She knew what she was trying to ask, "No. He didn't touch me there."
Jane breathed a sigh of relief. "Let's get you dressed." She said as she reached for the grey hoodie that was on the dressing table. The brunette carefully slipped the sleeve over her injured wrist before holding the other side open for her to slip into herself. She turned to pack up the rest of her things when Erin spoke,
"Could you help me take my wig off?"
"Of course." Jane said with a small smile.
When all the bobby pins were removed and the fake hair slipped off of her head, Maura shook out her natural honey blonde locks. Jane leaned down and kissed the crown of her head. She took a moment to breathe in scent that she had become addicted to over the past year – a scent that she knew that she could no longer with without.
"Can I have my ring back?"
Sitting there with possibly a broken wrist and all Maura could think about was putting her ring back on her finger. This made Jane grin widely. The brunette slipped the necklace from around her neck and the ring dropped into her palm. Maura reached out to take it with her right hand but Jane turned her hand over and slipped it back onto her ring finger.
"I am certainly ok with you taking this ring off at work if it means that I get to slip it back onto your finger every night." She said with a smile.
Maura returned the smile despite the pain in her wrist.
"Come on, let's get you checked out."
I know that I always promise that my next post will come soon but I'm not going to say that this time since I always fail! However...I would love to hear what you think and what you would like to read about. I do have a good idea of where things are going next but that can always be adapted based on what you guys want!
