Manhandled. That was probably the word that Lucy would use for how she was being treated right now. The two men in black dragged her deeper into the weird underground dungeon with as she struggled to get free, even though she knew that it was futile. One of the men had a stoic face on, but she could see that his eyes showed sympathy, even the tiniest trace if it. His blood red eyes reminded her of Gajeel's, but his skin color was fairer than his and his black hair was shorter, giving a considerable difference between the two males. Out of the two men that were dragging her, he seemed to be a little more gentle.
They finally came to a room that looked like a place that someone would do an interrogation in, according to all of the cop shows that she's watched. The men shoved her roughly through the large metal door, one of them leaving, but the one who was more gentle stayed with her, probably making sure that she didn't escape. Lucy looked around the cold room that only had two very uncomfortable-looking chairs with a metal table in between them, and a desk lamp on said table. Lucy didn't bother to try to fake out the guard and escape or plead with him to let her go because she knew that they would never do that, so why bother? Lucy pulled at her shackles a little before she got up and sat in one of the chairs, anticipating to see what was in store for her.
The door then opened to reveal the man who ordered her capture, as far as she knew. He gave her a very creepy and insincere smile before he took a seat across from where she was. The guard was now standing completely in front of the door. "Good day, Ms. Heartfilia." Lucy wanted to shout every bad word she knew at the man, but that wouldn't make this situation any better. So, listening to her good judgement, she kept her mouth shut. "You must be very confused as to why you are here. You see, I have a special use for you. I would like it if you cooperated, for it will be better for both you and your friends."
"You think I would cooperate with a man who kidnapped my friends and shackled them to a wall?" Lucy asked incredulously. She saw the man's eye twitch, as if he was trying to hold in his anger. The truth was, if he couldn't get her to work for him, the plan would not work. And he needed his plan to work.
"Well, in truth it would mean well for you. Once my plan is complete, I'll have all the power in the country. I could do some very influential things with that, and give you anything you want." He said trying to convince her. He thought that she cared about that! Lucy could burst out laughing at the thought, however she couldn't given the gravity of the situation.
"What is this 'plan' of yours?" Lucy asked. There was no way in hell she was going through with it, but might as well find out what it was.
"Well, you see, it has to do with your diamond." Lucy immediately brought her shackled hands up to her necklace and held it, silently praying to her mother to give her strength. "That diamond is practically a powerhouse. When used, that small diamond could power ten big cities for a few decades. That is the kind of power I need. I was in the air force, but they kicked me out because I was just selling off information in exchange for money. The air force had the nerve to strip me of my commander title. The nerve of those weaklings!" Jiemma stood up and slammed his hands down on the hard metal surface of the table, looking like he was about to flip it. Lucy was shaking a little bit, and you could see the fear in her eyes, but she tried her best to keep a stoic face on.
"Why do you not just kill me and take it?" She hoped that she didn't give him any ideas with that, but it seemed as if that was the most logical thing to do in his situation and if he is so messed up in the brain that he would kidnap and starve her friends, he probably didn't have a consciousness that would tell him that it was the wrong thing to do.
"Ah, I would. But I cannot. Your diamond is quantum locked." Jiemma explained.
"Quantum...locked?" Lucy questioned. Jiemma gave an irritated sigh, probably not wanting to explain to her, but he did it anyway.
"A quantum locked object is something that cannot be used unless a specific condition is applied to it." Jiemma grumbled, and Lucy could tell that his patience was wearing thin. "Your diamond can only be used by a living Heartfilia. So, I need your assistance."
"You still haven't told me what you are planning to do." Lucy said.
"Oh, I plan to wipe out the whole Fiore Air Force, including the Army and Navy as well. You see, I stole the plans and materials needed to make nuclear bombs, which Fiore always keeps a small supply of in case they needed it. However, I do not have enough power to launch the bombs all by myself. So that is where your diamond comes in. Once it's power is used, I will have complete control over Fiore. Of course, that will require you to help me."
Lucy had to restrain herself from spitting in his face. "You sicken me! You'd have to be deranged if you think that I'm going to help you injure thousands of people, just for your selfish gain!" Lucy barked.
It was then that Jiemma slapped her. The force was so great that she fell off the metal chair and onto the hard ground. She had the metallic taste of blood in her mouth, and she was fighting to restrain tears, even though the pain was so unbearable.
Jiemma scoffed. "Weakling." He then proceeded to leave the room, but not before turning to the guard. "Rogue, get that stupid little girl to stop crying and then bring her to her friends. Do not keep me waiting." He roughly pushed Rogue aside before he exited, but Rogue's expression still remained stoic. He didn't hesitate to walk over to Lucy, who didn't have the strength to back away from him. He pulled her up into a sitting position gently, his red eyes gazing at her red cheek that was now turning a sickening purple.
"I'm sorry." The guard said, startling Lucy. His voice barely had any emotion, but she could tell that his words were sincere. "No one should be put through this kind of suffering."
"Rogue, right?" Lucy asked as she rubbed her tears away with the back of her shackled hands. The man nodded. "You don't seem like the type that should be working for a horrible man like him."
"It's against my own will. I have no choice to be his little flunkey, otherwise he'll kill Sting and his father." Sting. The man who kidnapped her. She just then realized that Sting might not have wanted to do anything on his own free will either. "My father, Skiadrum, was also in the air force. (Basically all of the male dragons are in the air force) That cruel man killed him...right in front of my eyes." Lucy gasped, and Rogue just looked at the ground. Lucy could tell that he was trying not to break down, because his stoic face was faltering a little. "Sting was always like a brother to me and Weisslogia was like a father. I cannot end up losing them too because they are the only family I have left. I truly am sorry." Lucy felt a pang of sympathy for Rogue. It just sickened her that people would go to that extent to get their revenge.
"ROGUE! BRING THAT BITCH NOW!" They both heard Jiemma scream.
"Time to go." He said softly before he carefully hoisted her up. She struggled a little bit, but she found that she had no energy to continue.
Jiemma was back in the room with the four shackled people. They just felt the effects of the tranquillizer wear off as they slowly started to regain their strength, but even with that they still knew that trying to struggle against the metal chains would be gainless attempts.
The metal door that Lucy had just come through opened once again, now revealing Sting Eucliffe. He walked up to Jiemma, noticing his used-to-be classmates chained up against the wall. Yet, he failed to notice the man who was many spaces away from them, at the very corner of the room.
"It's done." Sting said to the big white-bearded man. Jiemma gave a gruff nod.
"Very well then. There's your old man." Jiemma said pointing towards Weisslogia. Weisslogia, in turn, scowled at the man. He killed his best friend right in front of his son, he blackmailed his son into doing his bidding, and he chained him here for a full moth with only a loaf of semi-moldy bread a day.
Sting took notice of the man who was dubbed his father. He almost didn't recognize him because his white hair was almost a dirty brown now. "Dad..." He croaked out, and Natsu couldn't help but feel just a little sorry for him. Sting looked so broken, so vulnerable.
Two men then came up behind Sting and started to drag him towards his dad, but instead letting Sting tend to him, then strapped Sting in the chains next to his father, leaving only one chain set between him and Juvia, who was now knocked out from all of the stress she had taken to the brain. "Hey! What the hell are you doing?!" Sting yelled to Jiemma. Jiemma just gave a dry cackle.
"You wanted to be with your father, and now you are."
"We had a deal!" Sting growled, and a murderous look flashed through Jiemma's eyes, making Sting cower into the wall a little.
"I think that it would be wise not to talk back to me, weakling!" He said as he sharply kicked Sting's ribs, making his and his father's eyes go wide. Jiemma then turned away to yell down the hall. "ROGUE! BRING THAT BITCH NOW!" He barked, making them all flinch a little.
Lucy then came stumbling down the hall, only relying on the dark-haired guard for support. Her eyes immediately locked with Natsu's, who gave her a worried and angered look, and the new bruise on her cheek wasn't helping that matter. He could see the feared look in her eyes, and he knew that she was just a hair away from breaking down. He couldn't blame her. He was guessing that everyone who was shackled was in just about the same condition, even him.
Jiemma grabbed Lucy by the back of her neck, forcing her onto her knees. Natsu started to struggle again, not caring about how the metal was slowly starting to cut into his wrists. "Let her go, damn you!" He growled at the large man, making him smirk.
"Oh don't worry." He said as he started to squeeze her neck, cutting off her air supply. "I don't plan on killing her just yet. I still need this worthless child, after all."
Sting looked down at the ground. He was so ashamed for what he did to his former classmates and that poor blonde girl. She seemed nice enough, and by the look that Rogue was giving her, she didn't deserve such treatment.
"And for you, Rogue." Jiemma said slowly as Rogue started to notice his brother and father figure's position. He whipped out a pistol surprising all of the people in the room, and hitting Rogue's neck with the butt of the gun, sending him to the ground.
"ROGUE!" Both Sting and his father yelled. Jiemma threw Lucy to the ground, who began coughing to try to get some air in her lungs, and picked Rogue up so he could drag him right next to Sting and Juvia, and then chained him there. Sting struggled to get to his best friend, who was promptly knocked out with a bit of blood running down his neck. "Rogue! Come on man, answer me!" Sting said as he tried to get to him, but Rogue did not budge. "You bastard!" Sting yelled at the man, but Jiemma just smirked at him, shaking his head as if it were amusing.
Natsu growled at the man. This guy not only kidnapped his friends and his girlfriend, but he also went and attacked the people who were reluctantly doing his dirty work.
"Growl at me all you want, Dragneel. It isn't going to change anything." Jiemma said as he glared at him, but Natsu did not shrink back. He held his ferocious gaze before Jiemma scoffed and walked back over to Lucy. "Now, little girl, since you will not cooperate willingly, I will have to use force." He said as he pulled out his pistol again, making Lucy squeeze her eyes shut. Natsu just looked at the scene in fear, tears free-falling down his face. "Don't mistake me, this is not for you." He said before he pointed the gun straight at Natsu. Lucy's eyes widened considerably. "Now, do as I say, or your little boyfriend here dies."
"No, no, please! Don't hurt him!" Lucy screamed as she struggled in Jiemma's grip, making him pin her to the ground by her neck again.
"Don't do it!" Natsu screamed, making Lucy look up at him through her tears. "Whatever he is planning to do, don't do it! I know it's not good! Don't worry about me!"
"Natsu..." Lucy croaked. Gray now had tears running down his face also.
"No, Natsu. You'll die." Gray said in a strained voice.
"Don't worry. It's fine..." Natsu said. Gray, being his best and closest friend, could see that he was trying to stay strong, for both him and Lucy.
"Well, this is all very sweet!" Jiemma said with mock sympathy. He then grabbed Lucy's hair and yanked her up. "Since you cannot decide right now, I'll give you some time to think it over." He said before shoving Lucy into one of his many flunkies. Lucy recognized him as the other man that helped Rogue drag her away. "Take them all away!' He barked, but then outstretched his finger towards Natsu. "But leave him." The men nodded as they started to unlock the chains around the others, lifting the unconscious bodies of Juvia and Rogue, and trying to contain the struggling bodies of those who were awake.
"NATSU!" Lucy cried as the man was about to carry her away towards the cells.
"It'll be okay, Luce. I promise." Her boyfriend said softly. Lucy just shook her head.
"No! Let me go!" She screamed as she started to thrash against the man, making him throw her over his shoulder with an annoyed expression. The others followed suit, until the one that was dragging Gray came. Gray started to thrash then, just to get his last words out to Natsu.
"You better not die, Flame Brain! You better not die!" Gray said with tears in his eyes as the man dragging him pulled him away from the scene.
Natsu just looked at the place that Gray formerly stood, not caring that Jiemma was roughly unchaining him and forcefully pulling him away towards another room.
I'm sorry Gray. But I can't make any promises.
Yes, also another gloomy chapter. It's not my best work, but I hope that this satisfies you until the next update. Don't worry, I'm not a big fan of character deaths (even though I really want Jiemma to die), so don't worry about any of the character you know and love dying, because the chance of the happening is 0. Anyway, I hope that everyone is having a fantastic day wherever they are!
One more announcement! The next chapter will be the last one. There will also be an epilogue, though.
