Time Traveling Once Again

Chapter 36

Sitting on the ship got old fast. Granted, he was watching Doctor Who and finally got into the episodes that counted plus thanks to all the time he had to watch along with skipping the ending and opening sequence. He was sure to pay for that via Sora's fanboy wrath. The blond got passed a full doctor and moved to the next regeneration. It worked out for him and he had the theme song memorized by now. Good enough to even please the loyalest of fans long enough to get away. He hoped. The brunet was taking long but he knew how it felt to wait and be worried. Back then, when Axel went on a mission for a long time. He occupied himself just fine. Granted, some of those moments were him leaving to see Hayner and the others but...it helped ease the stress off. It also helped that he only went when Siax wasn't exactly paying attention. Stopping the movie, he yawned and stood up. Stretching his sore muscles from sitting far too long and walking out to see if they had come back yet. Much to what he expected, they weren't back. Instead of waiting though, he left for the world via a different save point and left what he guessed was the gummie ships original workshop.

It led him to a pretty nice garden with a great view towards the blue sky. It only made him yawn more but at least he was up and walking around for the moment. Looking around, he found a familiar rip and ran to it. Grabbing hold of either side and pulling it open to let him jump right through and land a door of a strange black and white world. His clothes had gone back to the old cloak he once wore even. The shaking made him look towards the wall like object that now shook. It stopped and when he peeked, saw Donald on the ground with Sora and Goofy. All three also in different outfits. Donald's royal mage garb gone and turned into a sailor's uniform and hat. Goofy had a vest and old hat on his head. Sora was in a long plain black shirt with white shorts and old black shoes on. Did this time rip literally rip right to a past period itself? If so, this was awesome! He actually got to see what they used to wear! Time magic was awesome if this was how it would go though he could also dimension jump too. When that would act up was a different story.

Speaking got his attention back on the matter at hand. The royal mage said that he had deja vu. Goofy agreed even so it was proved there that this was part of their past. What that sphere was probably had to do with what was causing the castle to be in grave danger. Sora seemed to catch on too. Deep in thought while listening to the two talk about something. Whatever it was though, the brunet was focused on that sphere. Staring at it as if he knew where or what would happen to it. The blond and him though saw a version of Pete come in and Roxas hid and heard steps and then his companions asked three serious questions. The first two being if they had seen a small mouse and a boat. Did they really get asked as to how a boat, something that floats on water, be seen OFF the water? Thankfully, they said no but then got asked if they had seen threats. He didn't see what happened for fear of being seen but something happened and then he saw Pete running off towards something called the Water Way. So even in the past, Pete was a coward. Here he thought that they actually had a challenge. Sora speaking and asking someone, he guessed his friends, what made the two answer.

"We are going after Pete to this and now," Donald's voice said "if we can take him out here, he won't be a risk to our castle."

'Please intervene' The blond's thoughts begged.

"Wait a minute now. I think we would actually ruin the future," Sora's voice of reason stated. "Look, it's clear we have traveled...pretty far back into the castle's personal time. This is long before it was built and clearly before Mickey was crowned king. This means the Pete in this time isn't a threat. Yes an annoyance but not a real threat. The future Pete he becomes is probably helping Maleficent as we speak. We need to make sure that if this is indeed their plan. That this…" there was a pause so this meant the brunet did some gesture to something. "Stays here. If this is taken away, the castle is at risk."

"You watch too much Doctor Who," Donald's annoyed tone stated while amusing Roxas at the reference to the show. ""This is the castle's past Sora. This is just us fixing what Pete has done so lets go fix it."

"By beating him up?" The keyblade wielder's own annoyed tone asked. "Great idea. Lets fuck up time even more by making Pete EVEN MORE pissed at us because y'know he just doesn't have enough reasons already." Sora's laugh was very cold after those words. "Nope, not enough at all that we ruin his plans for world domination left and right, beat him in every fight. I mean, that is just minor things. Clearly, us beating the shit out of him in this time will be a much better fucking reason!"

"It's better than standing here looking like idiots!" Donald retorted.

"Then go be an idiot," Sora said suddenly walking into view but he still was hidden. Even as he sat on the fence and pulled his phone out. "Go for it. We already got a few people here watching anyones. Go on, go handle it your way and I'll handle it mine."

The blond saw the rip started to waver and jumped back through it. Landing in his time era again and turning to see the rip stitch itself up again. Sighing, he wondered what that was exactly meant to help him understand but he didn't think about it too much. What would bother him and would be on his mind was...what happened after that? He didn't get much other than they had a normal spat from how both seemed to know the others response and how they would think. So why have it waver on him and force him to go back to his time? He looked to another part of the garden and saw a new rip. So that was why. Due to the companions fixing it, his magic over time was limited and could only grant him access to see the key points in the world and what happened while he stayed on the ship. Deciding that this wasn't cheating, the blond ran to it and jumped through.

He landed on a dirt path and walked up a bit to see it lead him to a building currently on fire. Donald, Goofy and Sora fighting Heartless and fighting quite a lot really previously with how tired each one seemed. It got him worried as they even got pinned a couple times, slashed and then saved. The creatures drew blood and it looked as if the gashes were deep. The blond wanted to help but he couldn't. Time was too fickle to mess around with.

"Is there any spell you know Sora?" Donald's panicked filled voice asked as the three now stood back to back between four Heartless in car forms.

"One, but it will drain me pretty hardcore," Sora replied, his face adding a silent message to what he said before.

"We'll cover for you then. Please use it," The royal mage asked.

"Give me time then," The brunet said pulling out a familiar player.

Whatever Sora was chanting as he held up the brush before him, it was clearly powerful. Gathering magic into the paintbrush in his hand and even making him sense how much magic was going into this attack. It was light and wow. The power he was feeling, the immense and sheer force that this spell could do intrigued him. Sora said he couldn't kill once he was an official mage so did that mean he could kill now? If so, did he have any powerful spells to kill? The brunet holding up the brush soon brought down columns of light around each and every spot the darkness had touched than each extended and blinded him. When it was safe, he saw Sora behind held up by Goofy and a broken paintbrush on the ground.

"That work...for ya?" Sora's weak laugh asked.

"It was amazing," Goofy commented. "Just lean on me as we look at what Pete is up to okay?"

The time rip wavered again and the blond reluctantly jumped through and watched it close. It did give him a chance to process what he saw. First off, it was light magic. Powerful light magic to where he could sense it gathered in one single, solitary item. Then let out in a flurry of light that destroyed any and all evil. Amazing really and a true demonstration at how powerful a light mage could get. Second, he was impressed at the power he felt even after with clear signs of the area having been blessed by said spell to be safe for any who dared to traverse near the building. The last though was how weak the brunet was after. This was clearly why he hardly used his true magic. It was a pretty big drainer and the few spells he could use were probably so light on the toll he could just use them whenever he deemed it to be necessary. Looking away and back towards the door where the gummie ship shop was, he found another rip and ran to it. Jumping through without opening it and landing once again behind the door from last time.

He peaked again and spotted Sora next to the cornerstone. Alive but alone and clearly too weak to put up any fight at all should he be attacked. The two really up and left him there!? Roxas shook his head. No, that wasn't it. The brunet must have said to go on without him. If he couldn't fight then he must have seen it as a liability to the mission at hand. What worried him was Pete, from the future, walking over with a proud smirk to Sora. Looming over him and having him look up at the villian.

"It's time for a little boat ride ya brat," Pete smiled towards Sora.

He couldn't see the brunet's face but he was sure his thoughts were a single curse word. It waved again though so he jumped back into his time and found the final rip. Going through it, he arrived to see Goofy and Donald talking to past Pete. Judging by how proud they looked, their mission was a success and they clearly saved their friend. He listened intently when Pete said they could take his ship for a spin and that it was the best little craft on the river. His deckhand, Mickey was late hence the offer.

"Sound like fun Sora?" Goofy had asked the brunet.

"Sounds like a blast," Sora replied. "Thanks Captain."

The blond jumped back to his time and watched the final rip repair itself. He had pieces but he would clearly have to ask Sora what happened without giving away he knew some of the events. Should be easy enough though with how all he had to do was just listen. Easy as watching the grass grow or something like that.

I didn't forget about Roxas's time magic but it has to have the right circumstances to work. The same rule applies to dimensional jumping.
