BAU – Office of Penelope Garcia – Afternoon –

Spencer had left over an hour ago and still Penelope sat staring at the irrefutable facts on her screen; Derek Morgan was not the father of Emily's baby. The revelation of their night together had drastically altered their lives and then the news of a baby had rocked her world. Still, she'd vowed to stick by him, and to let their love bring them through this storm. Now, after weeks of stress and uncertainty, she'd found information that seemed even more devastating. How was she supposed to tell him that the baby who'd he grieved for over the last several weeks was not only alive but was not his?

The familiar knock on the door startled her as she quickly minimized her screen and turned to face him as he entered the room.

"Hey Baby Girl." He uttered solemnly.

"Hello Handsome. How was your appointment?"

He approached her and pulled her to a standing position pulling her into a tight embrace as he held her close to his body. He didn't respond to her question for several seconds as they stood. She allowed him the time as she heard him inhale. After a few more seconds he released her and placed both hands on each side of her face staring deeply into her eyes.

"I don't deserve you, Penelope Garcia."

"Derek…"

"No. Just listen, please?"

Already she felt the tears welling in her eyes.

"Okay."

"I have made your life hell over these past several weeks and I am so sorry, Baby Girl."

He gently wiped away a stray tear as it trickled down her face.

"You've been my solace and my safe place and I've taken you for granted and treated you horribly. None of this is your fault but I've treated you like it was."

"Derek, I know you're hurting and confused and…"

"Woman, let me finish. I don't deserve your kindness right now."

With a slight smile, she nodded waiting for him to continue, the tears now escaping one by one.

"I love you more than life; more than anyone in the world and I know I can't breathe, I can't live without you. Please, whatever happens, don't leave me…I can't do this without you."

Derek was rambling…Derek Morgan never rambled; he was a man of few words and she was moved by the pain and sorrow in his eyes…and the love. The love he had for her was right there and her doubts and fears vanished in that moment. She knew she'd never leave him because she needed him just as much as he needed her. In spite of everything he was still her hero and every day he saved her life just by being there and loving her.

She kissed him stopping his tirade. She began slowly than before he could react she deepened the kiss and took control as her tongue demanded entry which he granted instantly pulling her tighter against his body his hands grabbing her by the hair and holding her in place. Then as biology would have it they needed to breathe and so reluctantly they pulled apart.

"I love you Derek Morgan."

"I love you too, Penelope Garcia."

She rested her head on his chest as he rested his chin on the top of her head.

"I am so messed up! I know that now. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get us back and to earn my place back on this team. Please, Penelope, I need you to forgive me."

"There's nothing to forgive, Hot Stuff. I love you and the team loves you. We all need you to be healthy and happy. None of us work without you, you know that right?"

He didn't answer he was too busy fighting with his own tears and self-doubt. Puzzled she lifted her head and looked him squarely in the eyes.

"You do know that, right?"

"I don't know. Sometimes I think you and everyone else would be better off without…"

"Don't even go there, Derek Morgan!" She interrupted him.

This time it was her that wiped away his tears. He was too overwhelmed to speak and so he just held her as she planted soft kisses on his cheek and neck.

"I've missed you, Derek."

"Yeah. I've missed you too."

She had him back now but for how long? She had news that would surely devastate him. She couldn't keep it from him and she definitely didn't have the power to change it. So, she just held him for what seemed like hours. How many times could this man who was so strong and fearless and determined, be broken? More importantly, was she strong enough to put him back together again?

Home of Emily Prentiss –

Emily had just sat down to enjoy a cup of tea when the phone rang. She noticed the London area code and assumed it was one of her co-workers from Interpol.

"Emily Prentiss." She answered as she took her first sip.

"Do you value the lives of your friends, Emily?"

The deep brooding voice sent chills down her spine as her heart rate jumped.

"Who is this?" She yelled.

"Haven't you put your friends through enough pain? I'm surprised they still speak to you."

"Listen to me…"

"No Emily, you listen and listen very carefully…Miss Garcia seems to be a very lovely, albeit naïve young lady but she's much too nosey for her own good."

"I don't know who you are but you leave her alone!"

"See, that's the problem. She's been lurking around some dark corners and opening doors that are none of her business."

"What do you want?"

"I know how much you care for your little family, Emily…Derek, Penelope and the others. I know you'd hate to have their blood on your hands."

Emily felt her body collapse in the chair with a thud as she struggled to keep her voice steady; she didn't want to show this unknown person any fear.

"You still haven't told me who you are and what it is that you want."

"Ahh…brave little Emily. I want you to tell your friends to stop looking for a child that no longer exists. Tell them to put away their hopeless search; there's nothing to find but more pain and heartache."

Her hands were shaking now.

"Tell them, Emily! Tell them now or I'll kill them! I'll kill them all!"

The room began spinning around her and she didn't hear the delicate china cup crash against the tile floor. She felt dizzy and her heart thudded with such ferocity that her chest hurt. Then she did the only thing she could do.

BAU Office of Penelope Garcia –

"Derek we need to talk…"

That's all she managed to get out when his phone rang. His eyes apologized as he grabbed the phone from its place on his waist. He frowned as he looked at her.

"It's Emily."

Her heart sunk as she pulled away from him. She watched his face change as he held the phone against his ear. Then the two words that had become so familiar echoed in her ears.

"I'll be right there."

He ended the call and looked into her eyes.

"It's Emily; she needs me."

"So I heard…so, go."

"No."

"What?"

"Not unless you go with me."

"Derek, she called you not me!"

"No more doing this by myself. I need you with me, Penelope. Please."

He reached for her hand and pulled her back to him.

"Penelope, I told you, I can't do this without you. Come with me."

"Are you sure?"

"I've never been more sure of anything in my life."
