Note: Title borrowed from Shakespeare's play, Romeo and Juliet, purely because Shakespeare is my second language.
"Mommy," she points irritably.
There's a moment of complete silence where three men stare dumbfounded at the baby girl sitting on the floor.
Then Sam starts to babble frantically about social and developmental implications for the motherless tot, while Bobby chokes on hearty guffaws of laughter.
Dean takes a deep breath, and hands the desired toy to his adopted daughter.
"Well, I didn't expect that to be her first word," he manages conversationally. "I was kind of hoping for the traditional 'Daddy,' sweetheart."
Blue eyes flashed dangerously as the eleven month old leaned far in to Dean's personal space. "No."
That just sent Bobby into new fits of laughter, and even Sam cracked a smile.
Dean just snorted. "Now that sounds more like a Winchester, Cassie."
