Jack's POV

Part of me wants to tell so many bad lies about Percy to John but the other part wants to be nice and tell John how nice of a person Percy is. I sighed. I guess I need to be a nice person and say all the goods things about Percy.

"So you know Percy?" I asked.

John nodded yes.

"Not much of a talker are you?" I asked.

"I talk when I feel the need. Most of the time when it's a 'yes' or 'no' question I just nod or shake my head." He explained.

"Hmm. So how do you know Percy?" I asked.

"Well, for one, he is the leader of the camp I go to and he is also dating my sister." John said.

"That camp again, ugh, so many people go there, I am kinda getting tired of just hearing about." I complained.

John smirked. "How many times have you heard of it?"

"Like a billion from Percy and a couple of times from Thalia." I said.

"So you know Percy as well?" John asked.

I nodded. "Yeah, he is one of my friends."

"How did you meet him?" John asked.

"Last year, a friend of mine, Rachel-"

"Rachel Elizabeth Dare?" John asked.

"Yeah." I nodded. "Rachel introduced us and we became friends. After Rachel left I was glad that Percy was my friend because before Percy, Rachel was my only friend."

"Did you know it was Percy's fault she left this school and went to Clairons?" He asked.

"Yeah, they told me that she had made a deal with her dad."

"And you weren't angry with him?" John asked.

"No, why would I be angry at Percy? Percy is a great friend to have around you know." I said.

John shrugged.

"Well, this is your locker, since you are new here you don't have cloths yet but it's just so you know where it is for tomorrow." I said.

"Thanks."

"You're welcome." I moved down six lockers away from his and started fumbling with the lock.

"Percy tells me you don't like him." I said.

John snorted. "I don't."

"Why?"

"Cause I just don't. My mother doesn't like him and she never not likes a person for no reason so she has to have a reason to not like Percy." He said.

"And you follow her example?" I question.

"Yes."

"Have you ever though that she misjudged him." I asked.

"She never misjudges anyone." John glared at me.

"Well maybe she did this time."

"And why are you backing up Percy so much?" John asked.

"Because Percy is a great guy. He is a great friend. If it wasn't for Percy I wouldn't have the friends I have now. The only reason I know the people I know is because of him." I said.

"Really?"

I nodded as I took out my gym cloths. "If it wasn't for him Larissa would be Mrs. Popularity and a total bitch, Kevin would be boring, I would be a loner maybe even a delinquent, AJ would be getting in a lot of trouble, Lola would be sitting in the dark corner of the class, and Destiny would never have become less shy." I said.

"You're telling me that Percy helped out all the people you just listed?" He asked.

I nodded as I unzipped my jacket. I took it off and left my really long glove on.

"What's with the glove?" John asked.

I shrugged. "It's part of my goth look."

"Oh."

I took my shirt off and replaced it for the soccer one. As I slipped on the sleeve, the fabric caught on the zipper and pulled it all the way up. The zipper gave way and broke into two pieces. My glove slipped off.

John grabbed my wrist. "What happened to your arm?"

I snatched my arm away. "Nothing."

"Dude,-"

"It's nothing, okay? Don't tell anyone about it either, please." I put my jacket back on.

"But-"

"Please."

John sighed. "Okay." He said. "But you know, you aren't the only one with secret scars."

"What do you mean?"

"Percy has some too."

"Really?"

"He wont tell anyone how he got them." John shrugged. "Not even my sister, and he tells her everything."

"Hmm."

I finished changing and walked out the locker room with John. We walked to stand in front of the coach like everyone else. He gave us our instructions and we went to the track.
