The last chapter.

CH 30

"So, join us peacefully or… prepare for a fight." Darkar deviously grinned at me while motioning me forward with his long red glowing claws. A strange urge wanted me to go to him and fighting it grew harder and harder the more his beady red eyes remained fixated on me.

"Doesn't sound like much of a threat to me." Aisha mocked, proudly crossing her arms across her chest.

"We defeated you once we can do it again! But let's make this quick, I have a spa appointment in two hours." Stella threatened mater-of-fact. A bit too sure of herself, but I wasn't going to embarrass her now.

At this time Snow, Josh and Kyle stood around me along with Storm and Tarzan. In the air above me flew the winx while behind us stood my Mother Father, our guards, and the specialists. Not a very prepared army, though it makes sense because we weren't prepared to begin with. So this was how war started. An intimidating group of villains ready to fight for power.

"Briana" Darkar's voice roared through the valley. "What's it going to be?" There was a long cryptic silence.

"Why?" I finally spoke.

"Excuse you?" He spoke in a bit of a bewildered tone.

"Why do I feel close to you but I hate you?"

"Because my dear, the dark magic inside of you."

"No," I agitatedly interrupted. "It's closer than that. Why do I feel like I know you more than what I should!?" My patience was wearing thin. He remained silent and motionless. "Answer me!"

"What was the name of the first Amalgamate Fairy?" A sly grin crossed his face.

"No one knows! Quit stalling!"

"Wrong!" His voice boomed. "She had a name! A young girl, who lost her family because of the fairy of the dragon flame, had a name! Ever wonder why you had so many dreams connection you to my plans and whoever was around me?"

"Then what was it? Who was she?" My fists clenched and I gritted my teeth. There was a heavy weight on my back and I knew they were my wings showing. I purposely avoided the dream question.

"The girl lost her family, but her father survived. He searched for her, but when he found her, she was a powerful fairy guardian of the universe. Any father would be proud, but she ruined his plans. She was protecting the enemy!" There was a loud explosion as he continued. "The first Amalgamate fairy was my daughter." A dead cryptic silence paused in the air. Before I realized what I had done, I was flying towards him with black flames spiraling around me.

The war had begun.

"How dare you!" A blaze of black fire shot at Darkar. I caught an attack he sent at me and caused it to explode in the air above us. Charging at him, we both tumbled down, then I opened my wings and we soared up into the sky.

"We can rule this world together!" He offered while dodging my lightning attack.

"I would rather die than join you!" Thorne vines rose from the ground into the sky swinging at Darkar.

"That can be arranged!" He charged at me while I dove down barley avoiding his attack. I spiraled up again managing to position myself behind him. At that direct moment I surrounded him with… polluted water?

While I stared in shock at my hands I forgot Darkar was suffocating in my polluted dome. He used a spell that caused the water to diminish. My eyes were wide in confusion and bewilderment.

"You're already full of dark magic. It's weak against me." He smirked.

Josh's Point of View

Using my vampire speed I quickly found my match against the ancestral witches with the help from Snow and Storm. Daphne aided us as much as she could to help even out the odds, but none of us were prepared for this. As for Kyle, he took on Valtor. The winx seemed to have unfinished business with the wizards, so everyone decided to let them take them on while everyone else tended to the cretan minotaurs, fire eaters, Brute Monster, Spit monsters, Gregthroats, and dragons.

The old hags tried to attack but I sped off, steadily poising myself behind one and biting her in the hand just before she sent a spell at Daphne. My fangs dug into the old hand as a scream pierced my ears. She swung me down causing a trail to follow behind me in the dirt.

"Well, I must admit, these old hags can pack a punch." I charmingly smirked at them while Snow rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, but it would be easier if we actually had some magic to help us out." She sighed while her fangs hung out and claws extended from her finger tips.

"Excuse me?" Daphne teased after using the element of fire to attack the third.

"You know what I mean." Snow charged at the second witch with Daphne and me following behind her.

Kyle's point of view

"Well, it's been quite a while since I've had fun with a sword." Valtor's and my swords clinked together putting our faces just inches apart. "You're swordsmen ship is very eloquent and your timing is impeccable." The blades of the swords scratched as they separated. "But enough of this." His hand pointed at me causing a dark attack. Swinging my sword across my body caused a ring of fire to intercept his attack. Raising my sword up and bringing to forcefully down caused wind to knock Valtor off his feet.

"That the best you got?" I mocked, breathing heavily and grinning. My sword was pointed at him read to block anything else he threw at me.

"Believe me; you haven't seen my best yet." His devious smile caused me to feel a little less unsure of myself. The ground rocked under my feet loosening my grip around the handle of my sword. As I fell I was separate from my only source of protection. "Now we're getting somewhere." As he fiercely approached me, I began to scoot back towards my blade as best I could while keeping my eyes locked on him. "Goodbye little boy." I could see the power forming in his hands.

"Back off!" There was a blur and then Valtor falling backwards. Turning around I saw Oritel which his sword over his shoulder and his outstretched hand towards me. "Come one. Let's go save Briana."

Briana

Ignoring the fact that all my powers had completely turned into a darker form, I continued my pursuit on defeating Darkar. As I flew into him we began to spiral down towards the ground. In that brief moment I saw what was happening down below. Everyone was suffering. The winx were slowly loosing to the wizards, Snow and Josh were being thrown all over the place by the ancestral witches, and Kyle was loosing to Valtor. The specialists were surrounded by Darkar's minions and barley keeping up a fight while my parents and many others were willing to fight until the end for me.

I had had enough. Opening up my wings, a strong force separated me from Darkar as I watched him plummet towards the ground. He caught himself before the impact, of course, and came bolting back upwards towards me. Attempting to use my air attack only cause a mere gust.

"See, you're already becoming one of us. Your magic is refusing to attack me." Darkar cheered. "Just a little more." Slowly, he began to float towards me. I wanted to retreat. I wanted to flee, but I couldn't. The urge to turn was stronger. Once his hand held mine, everything changed. It was like rage flooded through my veins, the urge for power engulfed my heart, and my mind turned on what I knew was right and wrong. I was going to destroy them.

Josh's point of view

Briana landed on the ground surrounded by dust that blinded everyone's view. The clanging and bashing of weapons and attacks ceased and silence fell upon us. As the dust cleared Briana appeared, only she didn't seem herself. Her wings and dress were blacker than the night sky and her eyes had turned dark. She showed no expression on her face, only stood their while the wind gently blew through her dress and hair. Everyone remained still, even the monsters. Then everything became clear. Darkar landed behind her, grinning his devilish grin and resting his hand on Briana's shoulder.

"Don't touch her!" Kyle began to peruse him until Briana blew him backwards. Kyle helped him back up. Kyle narrowed his eyes at Darkar. "What did you do to her?" He growled.

"Nothing, this is the real Briana." Darkar simply stated while the rest of his companions surrounded him. The ancestral witches placed themselves behind them along with the wizards, Valtor and his entire little creature monster group.

I didn't think before acting and I didn't plan on changing anything about my reaction. Briana's and my face were inches apart. Her eyes started blankly into mine. Darkar had backed away. He must have been too sure of himself.

"Hey," I softly whispered. There was no response from her. I wanted to place my hand on her cheek and tell her everything would be okay, but I wasn't sure. "I know you can do this. You can fight this. Just like everything else you have been through. Through the orphanage, through the foster home, through living on the streets, this is just another step you have to take." For a moment I could have sworn her eyes flashed back to their normal colors again, bright green, but then it was gone once more.

"Enough!" Darkar's voice caused me to jolt. "Destroy them!"

Briana's hands rose up causing thorny vines to twist around everyone's ankles. The pain increased as she caused them to tighten. My heart sank. Was she really gone? I looked back at Kyle trying to cut through them, but he wasn't getting anywhere. Even Flora was at a loss.

"Please, I love you." I whispered just enough for her to hear. Her eyes flashed again back to their normal colors and she dropped her gaze to me. A single tear escaped her eye and then back to her dark emotionless expression. She was still in there.

Then, the unexpected happened. She remained facing me but she had conjured up a dark portal behind all the monsters and villains. They were speechless, as was everyone else. The suction from the portal was pulling them all on. If it hadn't been for the vines around us, we would be falling in as well. But she didn't have fines around her. By instinct, I grabbed her hand as the force began to pull her in as well.

"Hold on!" I ordered her. Her eyes flashed green again.

Briana

I came too once more. I knew what I had done, and I knew what was to happen next.

"I don't have much time." I cried as I looked up at Josh. I wasn't sure how long I could control my normal self before I was gone again. Peering behind me towards the portal I watched as they all scrambled to find a place to grab onto. The ancestral witches were fighting as hard as they could against the force. The wizards had already been sucked in and Darkar had his long nails dug unto the ground that were making claw marks from the unsteady grip. Valtor was soon gone.

"Hold on!" I heard Kyle scream. Weakly I looked over at him and lovingly smiled.

"Kyle, you've always been there for me." My legs were now dangling in midair. "I just want you to know, I've always loved you like a brother." A tear trickled down his cheek.

"Don't! You can tell me later. Tell me once we get out of her! We can eat sandwiches or something." He begged. This only broke my heart even more.

"Mom, Dad, you've been the best parents anyone could ask for and I'm sorry I couldn't show you that most the time." Mom placed her hand over her mouth and Dad stood speechless. "I've been lucky. I've had the two most amazing sisters in the world along with their friends and the most amazing friends of my own. And Tarzan." He nawed at the vines around him but I made sure he wouldn't try to follow after me. "You're the best pet tiger ever and my best friend." Daphne and Bloom tried to fight the vines, but they were dark magic so they were potentially stronger than what they thought.

The portal was weakening and Darkar still wouldn't go in, meaning there was only one thing left to do.

"Don't let go," Josh whispered. I pulled up towards his face just enough to whisper in his ear.

The portal was weakening and Darkar still wouldn't go in, meaning there was only one thing left to do.

"Goodbye." I sadly smiled one last time as tears streamed down my cheeks and yanked my hand out from Josh's grip. Darkar and I collided and I used what I had left of any magic to pull him in with me. He yelled and fought me, but all I focused on was the last thing I saw. The portal closing and soon blocking the last sight of Josh.
