Stef awoke the next day with a brilliant smile on her face. It only grew in intensity when she found herself naked and wrapped up in the arms of her loving wife. She felt like a gigantic weight had been lifted from her shoulders and she was so thankful that she finally got around to having the dreaded discussion with Lena that she had been putting off for so long. She couldn't believe that she had waited that long as she should have known how Lena would react and now she was kicking herself for not having told her earlier. It certainly would have made the last few weeks more bearable. Stef finally found herself feeling like it was okay to lean on her wife and was so grateful for that never wavering support that Lena gave her.

Stef found herself abruptly brought out of her thoughts by the feeling of Lena's lips moving down the side of her neck.

"Good morning, Mrs. Adams Foster," Lena said with a grin before continuing her path down Stef's neck.

"Good morning Mrs. Adams Foster."

As Lena ramped up what seemed to be lingering from last night, Stef found herself in the same position and came to realize even more that she didn't have to be strong for Lena all of the time as Lena was quite capable of taking care of Stef in all the ways that she needed. It seemed as if a new passion had errupted in thier relationship and both women seemed extremely happy with the new development. It had been a long time since either of them had felt the incredible spark that was igniting between them. Both women were wired and ready to go as they began a journey familiar and yet new and exciting as well. It was that time when the alarm decided to go off, resulting in a groan from both women. Stef reached over to turn it off and attempted to get Lena back on track, but she wasn't following Stef's motions.

"Come on babe, we still have a little time."

With a small laugh, Lena placed one last kiss on Stef's lips.

"You better get going if you want any hot water. The kids are probably already up and on a mission to use it all. Plus, you have to get ready for work. I promise we can pick this back up after you get home."

"But I don't want to go to work today," Stef whined, "How about we call in sick today."

"I can't babe. I have a staff meeting, but I promise if you go to work, I will make it worth your while."

"Fine, but I'm not responsible if I happen to kill Mike."

"Stef, you can't kill Mike. Try to be at least civil. I know that you are upset with him, but a conflict with your partner isn't going to change anything. We are okay now and that is all that matters."

"I will try to be nice, but he is still going to get a piece of my mind," and with that Stef made her way slowly out of the bed and towards the bathroom.

She choose to forgo the clothing so that she could give Lena a little bit of a show and possible get her to change her mind, but when she glanced back over her shoulder, Lena was simply enjoying the show and refusing to take the bait.

Stef had finally made it out of the house and to work. It was a miracle that they managed to get out of the house each and everyday with so many teenagers. She couldn't remember a time when mornings were actually drama free periods of time. It was much easier when it was just her, Lena and Brandon, well at least sometimes, but she wouldn't trade her five amazing children for anything, even a quite morning to make love with her wife. Now she just had to find a way to get all of then out of the house so they could have tonight for themselves. There wasn't any chance that she was going to let Lena forget about her little promise this morning.

As Stef stepped out of her car, she saw Mike attempt to get out of his car and make a run for the building before she saw him. She knew him too well and figured he would try to get inside before she had a chance to see him this morning since it would not be possible for her to kill him, or even yell at him in a room full of cops and coworkers.

"Mike," Stef yelled loudly enough to get his attention, causing him to look back and quickly regret that action.

He tried to be normal except for the fact that he could see his ex-wife was fuming.

"Hey Stef, how's it going?"

"How's it going, really Mike. How stupid are you. I can't believe that you told Lena I was having an affair. What is wrong with you?"

"Listen Stef, I was worried about you. If you hadn't noticed, you have been acting very strangely. Lena said she didn't know what was going on and so when she said you were having lunch at the station all of the time and you said you were having lunch with her, I didn't know what to do."

"How about asking me Mike?"

"I did, you didn't tell me anything."

"How did you know about this supposed 'other woman' anyway?"

At this Mike hesitated, he was already getting angry himself and he didn't want to have to hold back."

"I... I followed you Stef to one of your secret lunches with Lena. Imagine my surprise when you didn't go home or to the school, but you actually went to a cafe and then I saw you hugging a woman who most certainly wasn't your wife. I didn't originally say anything to Lena, but when I tried to get some information out of you, you shut me out so I called Lena and figured she would know how to get you to open up. And yes, I told Lena about what I saw, she deserves to know the truth, and not to be cheated on."

This statement left both officers with their tempers flying. Stef couldn't believe this man's gall. Following her, interrogating her, and then telling her wife something that he shouldn't have ever known about.

"Mike, you should have talked to me. You don't have a clue and all you did was convince Lena that I had been cheating and lying to her, which by the way isn't even true."

"Then what were you doing with that other woman? I have seen you two together several times and I saw you go to her house. I shouldn't have followed you, but I certainly don't regret it. Lena deserves better than someone who lies to her, and since you are the one hurting her, somebody had to look out for her."

"If you must know, that woman is my therapist, and yes Mike, she is my friend so I hugged her."

Stef managed to calm down a bit and noticed the confusion on Mike's face the second she mentioned the therapist. Now he really felt like an idiot.

After a deep breath, Stef managed to say "Thank you Mike. I know you were just trying to look out for Lena and for that I am grateful, but I wish you would have come to me first and told me about what you say. I could have at least explained it. Lets just put this behind us. Lena and I are fine and me being angry with you isn't going to change anything."

"Stef, why are you seeing a therapist?"

"Mike, please don't as me that right now. I don't know if I can handle it, but I promise I will explain everything to you later."

"Okay, and Stef, I really am sorry for what I said to Lena. Is there anything that I can do to make it up to you?"

This provided Stef with a perfect opportunity, one that she hadn't even seen coming.

"Well, actually there is something. Would you take the kids for tonight and maybe even tomorrow night? Lena and I have a lot of catching up to do."

Mike could have done without the metal imagery of that last part, but he was happy that they were getting back on track.

"Sure Stef, anytime. Again, I really am sorry."

"It's fine Mike. It's done and we are going to get past it. Now lets get to work, partner."
