Night of the Green Goblin

"I call bull ok that." Mei accused the couple sitting across on them. Jason and Akiko met up with the seamstress for lunch near the girls' work and grab a bite to for lunch. Curiosity got the the better of the couple's friend and she asked how the two met.

Akiko raised a eye, "What's bull about it? It could happen to anyone." she pointed out, getting a nod of agreement from her boyfriend.

"She's not the first person to bash me in the face with a inanimate object." he said truthfully to Mei.

She shook her head, "That's the point! You two are like the best couple I know and that's how you meet? I just expected it to be more special." she explained dully. The two shared a confused look before bursting out in laughter, "What? What's so funny?" Mei asked before taking a sip of her drink.

Jason was the first to recover from his chuckling fit, "Mei I practically miss about half our dates. We are not the best couple." he said as Akiko wiped the tears out of her eye.

"Yeah but I mean we see so much of each other we don't exactly need to go on dates." the firebender pointed out.

Mei gave them both a look, "So you deny being the almost perfect couple. But you both love each other so much that you both automatically forgive each other for not making it to dates? Awww." she cooed, making the two young adults blush with embarrassment.

Jason put his head in his hands, "I'm missing work right now for this? Really?" he asked aloud.

Mei shrugged, "Hey anything is better than fallowing those freak super guys." she said nonchalantly. Mei had a obvious dislike towards superhumans, it didn't matter if they where good or bad, she didn't like them. She admitted that a few did good work and all but it didn't change her opinion entirely.

Akiko has been trying to convince her that the superheroes are good guys and she shouldn't be scared of them, but it was trying to push a mountain really. If it proved anything, it was that Mei was stubborn.

"Ok I get you don't like powered people, what about the guys who use a bunch of Gadgets and that? Like Iron Man?" Akiko asked, trying to see if there was a line between her dislikes.

Mei thought for a moment on that, "Well they're fine I guess. I mean they're normal people and they could be anyone." she said with a shrug.

Jason raised a finger, "Well what about Spidy? I mean he literally could be anyone." he pointed out. Jason was sure that about half of not more of the people in Republic City had his features, even if his mask was torn in places, he didn't have any real distinguishable marks.

Mei gave him a look, "What normal guy would go out in tights and beat up grown ass men?" she asked in a board tone. Akiko nearly laughed at the saddened face on her boyfriend.

The seamstress shook her head, "Can we stop talking about costumed weirdos for a second?" she asked. Jason raised his finger, "And I swear to god if you make a joke about plays one more time I'm going to stab you in the eye with a fork." she said, raising the utensil threateningly.

Akiko smiled, "A plastic fork?"

"I hear what they do in prison. I know how this works." Mei said confidently.

Jason smiled knowledgeably, "Well convict you know they file those down to a pointed tip first right?" he asked the girl to his side.

Mei raised a eyebrow, "And how do you know that schoolboy?" she asked. Make mainly called him that because Jason was planning on enrolling at Republic City University for collage.

The collage was really set up for hardened scholars who wanted a place to trade ideas, most of the people who have jobs in the city finished high school and worked their way up the corporate ladders. People like Jason who wanted a higher education where somewhat a oddity.

The teen shrugged, "I won't lie, I've been cut by a few knives in my time at the newspaper." he lied...somewhat.

"Is that why Akiko wanted me to teach her how to sew?" she asked.

Jason glance over at his girlfriend who was smiling almost innocently, "Don't look at me, my lips are sealed Tiger." she said with a smirk as she took a sip of her drink.

Mei deadpanned, "I swear you two belong in a fricking romance novel or something." she said, causing the two of them to blush.

After finishing their lunch, Jason bid the two off as he made his way to Air Temple Island. As he road the boat towards the island, the teen let out a sigh as he looked down into the water. "Man I wish I could just web swing to the island." he said to himself as the water slowly passed by.

Tenzin had finally made the wise decision to have a automated ferry installed. Jason thought that meant that he could easily get to the island in a more efficient way.

But it goes at a snail's pace.

When he finally got to the island, his legs where sore from standing up for so long. And when he saw the stairs, well...he took exception to that, so he decided to swing through the trees to the main building.

Jason walked along the stone path towards the plaza where some of the acolytes went about their daily routines. Jason gave a wave to a few that he had talked to over his visits, he respected that they would come all the way to the city to help fulfill their beliefs. Even if he was that dedicated to someone, he could never leave Republic City.

Shaking his head, he turned to the corner to see the Airbending children playing air ball with their parents watching from the sidelines. Jason walked up beside them and watched the kids play, "So who should I put my money on?" he asked the pair.

Pema and Tenzin smiled at him, "It's just a friendly little game between siblings." the airbending master explained to the hero.

"Prepare to be defeated women!" Meelo screamed like a warrior as he served the ball. Both upping the competition and disproving Tenzin's point.

Jason chuckled as his uncle deflated in his stature, "It's good to see them all like this. Without a care in the world." he said with a smile as Jinora blocked the ball and sent it towards Ikki. Jinora still had some sleepless nights from her experience with the Green Goblin but she has been adjusting quite well with everything that happened.

Pema gave a small nod of agreement, "She's gotten better. But still..." the woman trailed off.

Jason looked at her with sympathy as he put his hand on her shoulder, "She'll move past it. Trust me, with time she'll move past all this." he said, knowing from personal experience that time will help.

Pema gave the teen a saddened smile, "Yes I suppose so. I just wish that nothing like this ever happens to them again." she said sternly. Jinora was still recovering even after three months of peacefulness on the island but yes she still had night terrors.

Jason felt his hand clench into a fist, he had only a few brief skirmishes with Goblin over the past few weeks and every time the villain had gotten away from him. And it bugged him that after all his work he wasn't close to catching him.

Pema noticed the tensest young adult and put a hand on his arm, snapping him out of his inner anger, "We just hope our trip will help clear her head." she said.

Jason looked at her questionably, "Wait what trip?" he asked, confused.

Pema covered her mouth with her hand, "Oh! I didn't realize we forgot to tell you! We're all going down to the Southern Watertribe for a few days." she explained to Jason.

Tenzin gave him a apologetic look, "Sorry for not inviting you Jason, but I have some business matters to attend to." he explained.

The young man shrugged it off, "I get it Uncle Ten, it doesn't help that I'm a reporter Huh?" he asked. He had gotten some scrutiny that Tenzin would lead him information on delicate matters because he was family. Jason of course denied it but it still made him want to sock the accusers in the face.

The airbending master shook his head, "Nonsense. Jason your too kind to do something like that, it's just-" he started before Ikki dropped down beside her father with a wide grin.

"It's because Korra is down there and she's not allowed visitors because she's the Ava-Mmmmphh!" she muffed put as Tenzin clamped and hand over her mouth with a startled look on his face.

"Ikki! What did we tell you about that?!" the Airbender asked in a high pitched voice.

Jason on the other hand was speechless. All this time that he's been taking care of the city, every chance at a normal life he had and Tenzin could just go pick up the most powerful bender in the fricking world!

Pema saw the angered look on Jason's face and could tell where this is going. "Um, kids let's give your dad and cousin a minute." she said as she looked over her husband's head at Jinora and Meelo.

After Pema and Tenzin left, Jason crossed his arms over his chest and glared at the monk. Tenzin pulled on the collar of his shirt, "Um..."

There was literally no way for him to start this conversation on his side.

Jason held back a growl, "Ok before we start, I feel I should ask WHO THE HELL THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO LOCK UP THE AVATAR!?" he yelled at the man, feeling like Tenzin shrunk to the size of a ant.

The monk quickly regained his composure, "Jason this is what Avatar Aang wanted, for his next incarnation to be safe." he explained to the angered hero.

"So you lock up the best chance we got of world peace in the corner of the world when we got the Green Goblin and Amon both tearing the city apart?" he questioned skeptically. He understood that if this Korra was a five year old or something, but with math he could count seventeen years.

The airbender pint bed the bridge of his nose, "Jason the Avatar must learn to master the four elements before they help the world." he stated, as though he had that memorized to the letter.

Jason gave him a look, "You realize that Aang was helping people before he he mastered anything other than his base element." he pointed out, making the airbender's face falter, causing the young man to smirk.

The man shook off his startled look, "Jason you don't know Korra, she's brash, impulsive, and blunt. She only knows what the blunt part of being the Avatar is." he explained to the younger adult.

"Ya think that may have something to do with the fact you kept her locked up for her whole life?" Jason asked, making the man's point mute. He shook his head, "You know what, forget it. But I'm against this Tenzin, just put that on record." he said before walking away. Leaving Tenzin to let that sink in.

(000)

Jason left the Island pissed, he didn't want to snap at Tenzin like that but it really didn't seem like he was doing the right thing at all. It made him wonder if it where him in the same position would he easily lock him up like that.

So he decided to let out his frustration like he usually did. Knocking a few bad guy heads together.

So when he saw a small group of Goblins decided to attack a armored car with what he assumed was money inside, he didn't pass up the chance.

Dropping onto the roof of the truck, the hero shot weblines at two of the men's chest and pulled them up to him, "Well this is a sad excuse for a Friday night." he said as he threw the men into their friends before jumping off the truck and landing on one of the criminals.

Spider-Man leapt back off the man, dogging a fire swipe. Landing on his hand, he shot his foot into the chest of one of the Goblins before transferring back onto his feet. Blocking a kick, he threw his fist into the jaw of the attacker.

Looking back, he saw the last man circle around from the van, shooting a web to his foot, he leapt onto a streetlamp and attached the line to the metal. Dropping onto the street, the young man pushed the man forward and swung him forward.

"Man you guys must have nothing to do if your out robbing armored trucks. So why is your boss making you work?" he asked the masked criminal.

"Why don't you ask him yourself web head?" the man asked.

When the teen's Spider Sense went off, he turned in time to have a hand ode around his neck as he was lifted into the air. "Well hello there little spider!"

Spider-Man looked into the yellow eyes of the Green Goblin before swinging his leg into Goblin's side, making him let out a cry of pain as well as the young adult, "Well well well, just the maniac I was liking for!" he yelled as he attached a webline to the man's glider.

Swinging to the back of the glider, Spider-Man landed directly behind the villain. He swung his elbow towards the Goblin's face, only to be billed and pulled over his shoulder and thrown off the glider. "I can't take that insult seriously from a man in tights." he said before pointing his fingers at the costumed hero.

Plasma blasts shot from his fingertips towards Spider-Man, he thought quickly and pounced off the side of the building. Firing a web to the side of a building and swung around the corner of it.

Running along the wall, the hero pounced off the wall as Goblin flew around the side, taking him off the glider, "Well at least my voice doesn't cause children's ears to bleed!" he countered.

The two landed on the rooftop below them, Goblin drawing a pumpkin bomb from his satchel he threw it directly at he hero. Ducking under the projectile, he looked up in time to see a knee drive into his face.

His head reeled back, his tingling in his skull warning him of another attack. Deflecting the jab aimed at his head, he grabbed the outstretched limb and retaliated with a uppercut at Goblin's jaw and fallowed up with a kick to his gullet, sending him into his back.

Spider-Man leapt bro the air and clasped his hands together as he fell towards the Goblin. The man drew a pumpkin bomb out of his back and threw it at the teen, the explosion knocking him away midair. "You've been a pain in the ass lately and I finally decided your a lost cause!" the villain yelled out.

The two where back on their feet again, and as always, Jason had something to say. "Look, the only thing that's a lost cause is your sense of style." he said as he charged.

Goblin swiped his foot towards his head but was blocked by his forearm, withdrawing his leg he threw a jab that connected at his jaw. Spider-Man ducked under a right hook. Strong forwards he slammed his fist into the Goblin's gut, driving him back a few steps.

Goblin sidestepped out of the way of another strike, blasting the hero in the chest with plasma from his fingertip. Kicking Spider-Man in the chest and pushing him away from him into a chimney, crushing the bricks and mortar.

Jason got up as the bat glider picked up its rider and flew up into the air, "Oh! You may want to check back with your friends now bug brain! AHAHAHAHA!" The Green Goblin crackled loudly as he flew away.

Just as Spider-Man was about to shoot a web to the glider, he realized what the maniac was saying, "Sonofabitch he tricked me!" he exclaimed in realization as he shot the line to a building and swung off the rooftop. "Great, just when I thought I didn't have enough crap to deal with, now I gotta go see of these nut bags. I swear this isn't my day." he rambled to himself.

In most cases he would go right after the Green Goblin for as long as he could. But with his men still in the street doing whatever the Goblin wanted, people could get seriously hurt, and that was the last thing that Jason wanted or needed on his conscious.

When he arrived at the scene, the truck was gone along with the man he left hanging on the street lamp. "Well isn't that just great! After all that trouble I go through they're gone!" he yelled out into the air.

"Shut the hell up I'm trying to sleep!" above yelled from one of the buildings.

Jason winced, "Sorry..." he shouted back softly. There wasn't much else he could do, the Goblin was gone as well as what he wanted to steal, it wasn't a perfect night but at least he had gotten a few more of his men off the streets.

After webbing the men up around the streetlamp, he shot a web and swung up into the air. Firing line after line, he swung down the street towards the spot where he stashed his clothes at before going out.

Not noticing the figure fallowing.

Swinging around the side of a building, Jason's Spider Sense rang out in his head, making him spin around on his webline to search for danger. "Ok... that's a first." he muttered as he shot a web to his left and spun around on it back to where he was heading.

Swinging over the side of a building, he summersaulted in the air, pressing off a water tower with his hands then landing on the wall of a taller building. Crawling alongside the glass he felt the tingling in his skull. He stopped where he was and looked around, "Ok this is starting to worry me. Is my Spider Sense acing up or something? Maybe I should cost Ren and have him look at me." he muttered before continuing his wallcrawling.

Peaking out from the corner of the building with his purple glove steadying him, the Green Goblin had to hold back a laugh.

This was going perfectly. The costumed hero had been putting a real dent in his operations and it was getting worse and worse with each failed attempt. So he made a decision to find out who he really is, then kill him.

When Spider-Man dropped down into a alleyway, Goblin jumped down to the rooftop beside the alley and crept to the ledge where the hero went. Peering down, he had to bite back a squeal when he saw him putting on civilian clothes.

He tucked his shoes, gloves and wrist devices into a messenger bag before reaching for the mask covering his face, "That's it! Give me the money shot!" he excitedly whispered.

In truth he was tremendously excited to find out who it was who had been fooling him. It was like winning the game that he worked so hard for, and he was going to get the game winning point.

Just as the hero was about to unmask, his Spider Sense blared like a fog horn in his head, making him clutch the sides of his head in pain as he let out as hiss, "Ok that's it! I'm so getting my Spider Sense tweaked. Typical O-rou luck." he said as he pulled his mask off.

The Green Goblin stood on the rooftop, completely frozen as the young adult made his way out of the alleyway and onto the sidewalk. He began to shake, not out of excitement, fear, or joy. But out of anger, "H-h-how could this be! The arch enemy of the Green Goblin a mere BOY!" he yelled out as he slammed his fists into the bricks.

All this time, all that had been disrupting his master plan was a teenager! He expected someone...well more, a superstar, a city councilman, a CEO such as himself. But a teenager? Not in a million years would he imagine that a teenager would disrupt his plans.

"I...I need some time to process this." he said aloud, pitching the bridge of his nose as his other hand pressed down on the glider transmitter.

Hopping on his ride, he began his flight towards his home.

Verrick was in a foul mood, he was currently sitting in his most comfy chair with a scowl clear on his face. Sure he found out who Spider-Man was, but he didn't have a clue who his alter ego was, his hope was that Spider- Man would be someone famous so he could find them easily, but this was just a faceless teenager.

But there was that name he said to himself, O-rou. He could have sworn he heard that name somewhere before, the door opened to his home as Zhu-Li walked in, "Hello sir, you called me sir?" she asked in a rehearsed tone.

Verrick truly felt bad about having to kidnap her, but it was completely needed if he wanted to achieve what he wanted. "Yes Zhu-Li, I was wondering does the name O-rou mean anything to you? A stockholder sent me a letter today with their name and o was wondering if it was worth any merit." he said as he stood from his chair.

Zhu-Li thought for a moment, "I think it was someone who worked with that Chapal at Future Industries. But I could be mistaken." she said as she thought about the name.

Verrick let that roll around in his head for a moment, "Alright then!" he said, clasping his hands together, "On to more important matters, we have to set up this year's Business Bureau Ball. Right?" he asked his assistant.

The Business Bureau Ball was a celebration of business owners that was held every year to celebrate compatible industry. This year it was Verrick's turn to host the Ball and he was hoping to make it extravagant.

Zhu-Li rolled her eyes, "Yes sir. Everything is in place already, all we need to do is call the caters, find some entertainment, and most importantly send out the invites." she said, reading off the mental list she had made.

Verrick turned away to hide the dark grin he had on his face, "Perfect. Let's start with Hiroshi." he said as he walked towards his office with Zhu-Li right behind him.

After getting home late, Jason decided to let himself sleep in the next morning before going to see the Airbending family off for their trip. Thankfully his Spider Sense stopped acting up so badly after he changed back into his civilian clothes so he decided not to bother Ren.

As he rode the ferry to the island, he went over ways he could apologize to Tenzin for his outburst yesterday. He didn't really mean to snap at him, but the fact that he was in part keeping someone locked up against their will was his real issue.

Then again I go out and capture guys who I hope are put in jail for life, so I don't have any right to tell him anything. the hero thought to himself. The boat suddenly jerked, signaling the small ship had docked. Stepping off the barge, Jason made his way towards the temple.

After climbing the steps and taking the path to the main house, he saw the Airbenders loading their luggage onto Oogi. Jason walked up to the family, the children jumped off the bison and jumped onto the smiling hero. "Hey guys, you all ready to ship off?" he asked as he put Ikki and Meelo on the ground.

The three beamed wildly, "We're going to bust gran gran, and make snowmen, and-" Ikki started before Jinora cut in.

"It's going to be so fun getting out of here for a while." she said, a longing look in her eyes. Jason could tell she was anxious to leave the city, he was positive he would go stir crazy if he couldn't go into the city.

Meelo pumped his fists into the air, "Roadtrip! Roadtrip! Roadtrip!" he chanted as his sisters started to join in the cheering.

Jason gave them a smile smile, "Well technically your going on a airtrip." he pointed out.

The kids either didn't hear over their excited cheers or didn't care in the slightest, they swung their hands the air to create air scooter, riding onto Oogi's tail snd into the saddle.

Jason walked over to his aunt and wrapped her up in a hug, "Travel safely, if you don't feel too good tell Tenzin to turn around, and if you feel sick go see-" he rambled before Pema clamped her hand over his mouth.

The pregnant woman gave him a stern look, "Jason. Stop fretting. I have Tenzin worrying about me as much as it is." she said, not wanting to put up with not only her husband mother ducking her but her nephew as well.

The young man raised his hands in a surrendering manner, "Ok ok, I won't show my concern for my loving aunt who I care about." he said mockingly.

The mother rolled her eyes before giving her nephew a peck on the forehead, "Your still welcome here when we're gone. Don't be afraid to drop by." she said with a smile before she climbed onto Oogi's tail and saddle, much to the hero's chagrin.

Tenzin walked around from Oogi, silence filled the air as though their conversation from yesterday just took place. "Look Ubcle Ten I'm sorry. I had no place to-" The hero started.

"Jason you don't have to apologize." The Airbending master interrupted, "I was against the idea originally as well. And I do believe that the Avatar should take up her responsibilities." he stated. Jason stayed silent, he used his powers each day to help people because he saw it as his own responsibility. He couldn't imagine what it would be like for the Avatar.

Tenzin took a breath before continuing, "But it's for her own safety Jason. She's almost like one of my children, and I would be crushed if anything happened to her." he said, glancing up to Jinora on the saddle. He was the only other one than Jinora still dealing with their abduction, he thought it was all his fault and blamed himself for it.

Jason took a breath, "Uncle Ten, I trust you. Let's be honest you more her a lot more than I do, and it's worked so far so..." he trailed off, God point being conveyed through silence.

Tenzin smiled as he put his hand on his shoulder, "Thank you Jason. This won't be forever, just until things get under control." he said reassuringly. The two embraced before saying their fair wells to one another, Jason watched and waved as the family headed southward.

Putting his hands in his pockets, the hero made his way towards the docks. And back to the city.

(000)

Jason loved writing his stories for the paper, he got to put himself in the limelight without anyone knowing if was really him. It gave him a somewhat needed confident boost that was long overdue over the course of his career at the Marvel. But he hated how loud the sound of all the typewriters where when they all were at work.

Such as was the case currently.

Usually he just blocked out the noise mentally but his late night drained him of his somewhat valuable energy. He figured a short nap at his desk would help, but it was too loud to do so.

Jason looked at his typed paper with a board expression, his story was already submitted to Stan for the day. But he didn't have anywhere to be for the time being and to be honest, it made him feel uneasy.

Of course he had quiet days to himself when the city was quiet, but with the Green Goblin's fight the night prior he was just somewhat anxious.

"I seriously need to get to a psychologist of I'm thinking like that." the young man mumbled into his arm just before his phone rang. "Hello, Daily Marvel." he answered like he rehearsed it.

'Jason it's Hiroshi, how are you?' the man greeted warmly from the phone.

Jason smiled, "Hey Mr. Sato, I'm fine. But I am a little curious why a big CEO is calling a little drone like me." he stated.

He could hear the man chuckle from the other end of the phone line, 'Well first of all I know this is short notice and I'm sorry. Second there's this Ball tonight for large company managers and we have to bring a guest. Asami's not feeling too well and I was wondering if you could come in her place.' he asked politely.

Jason smiled widely, "Sure thing Hiroshi. Just tell me where and when and I'll be there." he said assuringly.

(000)

The Ball was grand to say the least, Verrick had decided to host the party in his own building on the ground floor where his own ballroom was located. He put it there for New Year's Eve parties a few years back for his employees and it was as huge hit.

Jason mostly stuck close to Hiroshi though the whole event, he'd never been to anything like this before and didn't want to do something that may reflect badly on Hiroshi. It was just like high school I'm a sense, keeping his head down and his mouth shut.

"Jason are you enjoying yourself?" Hiroshi asked with a some concern after noticing the young adult's demeanor.

Jason scratched the back of his head, "Sorry Hiroshi. I just feel like a fish outta water here, I haven't been to anything resembling a party since I graduated." he said somewhat bashfully.

The inventor smiled as he put his hand on the hero's shoulder, "It's perfectly fine Jason. To tell you the truth, when I was first invited to this thing I just stayed in the corner of the room all night." he said with sympathy.

The man took a long look around the room, "Jason I know this can be intimidating but don't worry. They're all people like you and me." he said, trying to comfort the nervous young adult.

Jason smiled at the man's reassurance, "Hiroshi! There you are old timer!" the pair turned to see the host of the party held greet the two guests. He wore his best suit for the party, a purple dress coat with dark blue tie with a white fur trim.

The older man smiled kindly, "Verrick! Wonderful to see you, your party is amazing." he said as he shook the man's hand.

Verrick gave him a smirk before turning his attention to his guest. The man had to put everything into not busting out into his Goblin's crackle or not go above more than a friendly smile. "Ah yes, this is Jason O-rou. His father worked with us at Future Industries." he said, Jason giving the man a friendly smile.

Verrick gave the young adult a grin, "Nice to meet ya kid. Name's Verrick." he said, raising his hand to be shook.

Jason reached up and clasped the hand, his Spider Sense ringing as Verrick's vice grip trapped his hand. What the hell? Why is he so strong? Emph, if it wasn't for my spider strength he may have crushed my hand! Jason thought with his own strength equaling Verrick's.

The business owner released his grip, "Noce meeting you kid." he said, his smirk having a welcoming look, but also a devious one at that. As he walked away and disappeared into the crowd, Jason looked down at his hand before lookibg up to where Verrick had walked off to.

(000)

Hiroshi had offered to give the hero a lift home but Jason kindly declined, making something up about wanting to walk home instead. In honesty he wanted to think on what happened over the past few hours. Verrick shouldn't have set off his Spider Sense like that.

Jason shook his head, "So my Spidy Sense has been acting up lately. So what, I've gotten along without it when I started this. It may be going out for all I know." he stated to himself as he turned the corner down a empty street.

When the sixth sense buzzed in his head he growled, "Ok this is ridiculous!" he exclaimed aloud.

"Oh you're telling me!" Jason looked up in time to see a handful of razor pumpkins whirling towards him. Cartwheeling out of the way, one of them grazed his shoulder, tearing the suit and showing the red of his costume underneath.

Looking up, his face turned to utter dread at who it was on his glider. The Green Goblin tossed a pumpkin bomb between his hands, "Oh look at you, like a cat-deer in headlights. You must be surprised to see me out of costume. Spider-Man."

Jason's blood ran cold as those words left his mouth. Dread filled his being, it was like Carrion only a hindered times more worse than then. " I-I'm not-"

"Don't play dumb, I fallowed you last night into that alleyway, saw your face and heard your name. You are Spider -Man!" he declared as he threw his pumpkin bomb at the unsettled hero. Jason was blown back down the street, his clothes becoming more damaged and exposing the spider head on his chest as well as his arms.

Flipping up from the ground, the hero leapt up to the side of the building beside him as another bomb went off below him. Running up the side of the building, he put his web shooters on as the Green Goblin flew up the side with a hysteric laugh.

Plasma blasts got the wall around Jason as he ran up the side. Abruptly stopping, he pounced back down towards the Green Goblin, swing a leg into the side of his face as his other reached towards the glider, "Ok the criminal activities I can tolerate. But peeping? I am shocked!" he half joked as their hands clamped down on each other's forearms.

They where flying through the city now, buildings went by then in a blur as their stalemate went on. Finally the Green Goblin let their arms go over his shoulders and drew the hero in, raising his knee into his gut. Jason's grip slacked and allowed him to throw the young adult from the glider.

Jason skidded across a rooftop, stopping against the side of a chimney with Green Goblin flying towards him. Placing his hands against the side of the chimney and pushed off, sliding under the glider as it flew right in front of his face and crashed through the chimney undamaged.

"Aw what's wrong Jason? Your head isn't in the game!" he accused as he took out another razor pumpkin and threw it towards him. The hero was quick to react and rolled out of the way into his hands and feet.

He's right, I'm freaking out right now! I can't keep my head straight! I gotta calm down but-shit! he thought hastily as he leapt back from another bomb, shooting a line to the edge of a building and swinging around it.

"Man where's the Fantastic Four when I need them?" he asked aloud as he kicked his shoes off. His sixth sense gave him just enough warning to doge a plasma blast. Flipping back up the wall, he dodged a fist that embedded into the wall.

Jason slammed a punch to the side of Goblin's face, he fallowed up with a upwards kick to Goblin's jaw, knocking his fist out of the wall. The hero sprung off the building and shot a webline at the man's chest, pulling on the web, the villain was almost yanked off his glider.

Swinging under the glider, the young man came up behind the Green Goblin, driving his knees into his back and slamming him back into the wall. "Oooh! Feisty!" he taunted as he raised his hand over his shoulder and blasted the hero back.

Jason fell through the air as the Green Goblin pressed down on one of the pumpkins on his strap. Small doors opened on the underside of the glider, a small firing mechanism came out and fired a cable at the teen, wrapping around him before being pulled up into the air.

"Hahaha! Well look how the tables have turned!" Goblin laughed as Jason struggled to get out of the string rope. " Oh don't waste your time, I made that epically for you, I can't even break it!" he said as he flew up above the city.

Jason's chest was pounding, he was in a real bad situation. Even if he somehow won this, Goblin knew who he was, he could find him. Not only him, but Pema, Tenzin, the kids, Akiko. Everyone he's known since kindergarten for all he knew. And that thought scared him more than anything before.

"Take a good look Jason! Republic City, a beacon for hope! Here anyone can achieve what they desire if they want it, and I want this city under my control!" he boldly declared as they went higher into the air and over the buildings of the city.

"You've been a real pain in my ass boy, but I'll admit you have my respect. Never in my life would I have believed that the nemesis of the Green Goblin would be a mere boy!" Goblin said as the two flew towards Avatar Aang memorial island.

Jason looked at the monument, he needed to find a way out of this. But flailing around in the air wasn't going to help get him out of this. Ok O-rou, get it together! You gotta beat him! So focus on that then worry about the other bullshit later! he thought.

As the glider flew past the staff/clock tower of the island, Jason got a idea. Firing a webline to the staff, he clasped it tightly in his hands as the two of them flew farther away. When they reached the end of the web, they where both turned off course and now headed for the head of Aang.

The Green Goblin tumbled away from his glider's crash landing. Jason on the other hand was already on his feet and moving to the glider. The exhaust was still going even with the head buried in the ground, "Hiroshi I'm sorry about the suit." he muttered as he leaned the ropes against the flame.

The flame melted the binding like butter, destroying the remainder of Jason's suit in the process. "No!" Goblin exclaimed as he broke free of his restraints.

Jason retrieved his mask and gloves from the remains of the suit and covered himself, "Let's try this again shall we?" he asked as he pounced towards Goblin, the villain fired plasma blasts to try and stop him but Spider-Man flipped backwards as the blasts past him as well as scoring a uppercut with his foot.

He advanced forward, blocking a right hook and countering with a string jab. Jason sidestepped pout of the way of a forward kick, grabbing the extremity and throwing him over his shoulder and the man's back onto ground.

Perfect! he thought.

Shooting webs at the villain's limbs to the ground and keeping him in place, he slammed his knees down to the man's chest to keep him from escaping, "I'm thinking it's only fair I take a peek at your ugly mug-" he started as he grabbed the purple hat and tore it off along with the mask.

"-Verrick!? Your the Green Goblin?" he questioned in disbelief at the face of the sneering CEO. "Why! Why do all of this crap of your head of one of the biggest organizations in the world!" he demanded.

Verrick's hand Mandes to break free of the webbing, giving him the chance to blast the hero with plasma in his face. Clutching his face with a cry of pain, he blasted the rest of the webbing off him and kicked the young adult away, grabbing his Goblin mask at the same time.

Running to his glider, he tore it from the ground and hopped aboard, flying into the air as Spider-Man regained himself, "Like I said before kid. Power, there's never enough of it for one man to have." he stated as he pulled his mask down over his face.

Jason fired a web towards the glider but Goblin moved to the side, diving the web before flying away, leaving the hero by himself. He let out a shaky breath, "Ok ok. Think this all through, Pema and Tenzin are safe...but he knows I know Hiroshi. I'll check in on him. So that only leaves Aki..." he said in realization.

Akiko's bedroom was more or less like her old room at home, the walls decorated with paintings with a white wall to make her works pop out more. Some where new but most where from her old room, they somewhat helped her fall asleep when she looked on the wall for a hour or so to grow tired before falling asleep.

The knocking at her window unfortunately woke her from her sleep, opening her eyes and running the sleep out of them, she glanced over at her window to see Jason already climbing inside, "Jason have you heard of-" she was cut off when he scooped her up in his arms and held her close.

"Thank god...your ok." he said, his head buried in her neck. Pulling away he all but tore his mask off, showing his relived look.

Akiko on the other hand was concerned, "Jason, what's up? You show up in the middle of the night and all you can say is 'your ok'? Spill." she said, poking a finder into his chest in a demanding and questionable way as he sat down on the bed she was just in.

Jason took a deep breath before going into what happened. He blubbered at a few moments because he was talking so fast but got it all out eventually. When it was all said, Akiko was in a stunned silence, "So you came here...thinking that..." she shook her head, "Jason you need to tell Fury who he is, he can help you with this." she stated firmly.

He shook his head sorrowfully, "If I do and he gets away he'll tell the police. They'll hunt me down and lock me up, we can't risk that." he said, having thought through that idea first. He looked into her eyes with sadness, "I need to find Verrick. I have to take him down. And until then I have to stay away from you." he explained.

Akiko's face turned to what resembled hurt and dread, "No you can't! Jason you can lay low, have some of the other superheroes take care of it. You...we can stay out of all of-"

"I got to Aki." he stopped her. Jason looked down to the mask in his hands, "It has to be me, we can't afford to put this to chance Aki. If he spills, you, Aunt Pem, Uncle Ten, you could all get thrown in jail in the worst case. I can't let that happen to you." he said stubbornly.

Akiko wanted to argue, but she knew that Jason was right. She knew that he was putting everyone he loved at risk and he was willing to do it for them to be safe.

It irked her how damn noble he was at times.

The artist reached her hand out to his, clasping it tightly before looking up into his blue orbs. "Just stay here tonight...then tomorrow..." she trailed off, knowing that was all she could ask really.

Jason's hand cupped her cheek, letting a small smile grace his lips, "Ok. I will." he submitted, getting her to smile the tiniest bit.

Akiko leaned in and captured his lips with hers. When she pulled away, they laid their foreheads against one another, standing in silence.

Jason's eyes looked into her's, "You know I don't want to do this...but losing you..." he didn't finish, he lost his mother, then Wei, he couldn't lose anyone else, he outright refused to.

She smiled, "I know. And you know I love you right?" she questioned.

It was his turn to smile, "I love you too Aki." Jason said, smiling somewhat as well. Pulling away from earth other, the two looked into each other's eyes with sadness, it may be months before they see each other again and they hated that they had to do this.

When he leaned in to kiss her, Akiko was taken off guard somewhat but quickly adjusted to the show of affection. Pulling away, she trailed small pecks over to his cheek, "Aki-" he managed to get out before his lips where locked again.

Jason's hands cupped the side of her face, deepening their kiss. Akiko wrapped her arms around the young man's neck before pulling him back down onto the bed.

Pulling away, Jason and Akiko where both panting when they looked each other in the eyes, "Are we-" he started. Akiko nodded with a smirk donning her lips, "And your sure?" he asked.

The artist leaned upwards and captured his lips with hers, pulling away slightly she moved up close to his ear, "Yes." she breathed out in a whisper.

(AN: Lemon warning. You can skip this and it will not hurt the story.)

Jason swallowed at the artist's permission, she felt his body stiffen when she said yes. Laying down, she took the sides of his face in her hands and slowly pulled him down to her, kissing him and relaxing his frame of mind.

The hero felt his worries fade, Jason pulled the upper part of his costume and gloves off and tossed them aside onto the floor. Akiko bit down on her lip at the sight of his muscles, they where all perfectly sculpted, with the golden necklace dangling between his pecs.

"Hot damn..." she muttered as her hands trailed over his chest. Her hands raked over his skin, examining every part of his muscle mass.

Jason blushed at her comment, he slid his hands down her sides as he recaptured her lips. His hands found their way to her hair, running through the read and block locks before trailing down her back.

The artist shuttered at the feeling of his fingers caressing her back. His hands drifted lower, and lower. When he reached the hem of her pants he stopped momentarily.

He pulled away slightly before grasping her rear cheeks and gave them a firm squeeze, Akiko let out what a resembled a squeak at the feeling of his hands on her ass.

Akiko pulled away breathless, his hands where still holding her rear cheeks and messaging them gently, making her lower body squirm in pleasure, "Like that?" he questioned, reviving a nod as Aki held back another noise from her throat.

One of his hands left her butt and slid up, hitching on her black shirt as he caresses her lower back. Akiko sighed loudly at the feeling, arching her back and pressing her chest into his.

Akiko's hand left his neck and reached for the hem of her shirt and pulled it over her head, causing Jason to stop his ministrations and look over the newly exposed flesh with scarlet bra, "Knew you'd be wearing red somewhere." he stated, making them both stop and chuckle.

Akiko took this opportunity to roll the two of them over, putting her over him with her arms and legs making her hover over him. Jason propped himself up with his elbow and captured her lips, cupping her cheek with his other hand. One of Aki's hands left the bed to slip off her pajama bottoms to where she could slip her legs out of them.

She broke the kiss prematurely, making Jason almost whine in protest but was silenced when he saw Akiko's long, toned legs, all her hours of training for martial arts clearly showing.

The young woman took a deep breath, raising her arms back over her shoulders she searched for the bra clasp. When her fingers reached it, she closed her eyes and let the article of clothing fall from her body.

The hero felt his heart flutter at the sight of her bare chest, Akiko looked down at her hand, not meeting his eyes. Jason sat up straight so that he was in front of her, titling her head towards his, he pressed his lips to hers, "Your beautiful." he said simply as he pulled away.

His other hand slid up her midsection, Akiko gasping quietly at the feeling of his hand rising to her chest. Jason hesitated momentarily before cupping the underside of her breast gently, making her suck in breath.

The hero moved his hand up to the pink bud and touched it with his thumb, making her breath out huskily, "Mmm...don't stop." she said, her own hands going back to roaming his exposed chest as he did her's.

Jason gulped at her permission but didn't object in the slightest at her redetermine. Bringing his other hand up, he caressed her dampened skin as he lightly groped the other breast. Akiko hummed eagerly at the feeling of his fingers bushing against her small buds, her head craned back with a moan when he swirled his thumb over her nipple.

With her neck exposed, the hero leaned in and peppered her neck with small kisses and a occasional suckle. Akiko right out giggled at the sensation, Jason couldn't help but smile at the sound that she made.

Akiko let out a series of small moans as his hands fondled her breasts, they where a perfectly sized, large enough to grasp with his hands and small enough so they weren't ridiculous. Her pale skin made the pink nipples stand out in a amazing way.

The artist pulled herself closer to him, setting herself down in his lap. His hands gave a small squeeze, making her suddenly buck against the action, grinding her hips against his. She gasped loudly at the sensation as Jason groaned into her ear.

Akiko gently pushed his facd off her neck, Jason guessed where they were going next, "Are you sure?" he questioned softly.

The young woman gulped, her hands went to the sides of her scarlet panties and pulled them down her legs until she slipped them off, the sight of dark red curls above her womanhood drawing his eye.

Akiko's blush reached to the top of her breasts when she saw him staring at her. They where subsided when she felt him plant a kiss on her cheek, she looked down and saw him pulling his own bottoms down.

The artist swallowed when she saw his shaft, she had a idea of what it looked like of course, but seeing it in the flesh was completely different.

Akiko shook those thoughts aside, wrapping her arms around his neck she raised herself up by her knees over his shaft. Taking a breath age decided to get it over with.

She dropped herself down slowly onto his head, sucking in a breath as he brushed past her lips. Jason clenched the sheets of the bed as he entered her, she was slick and tight and it was amazing. When his head met her barrier they froze, Akiko steeled herself and dropped down fully, breaking the barrier and sending him deep within her.

Akiko had to bite down on the side of her cheek to hold back a hiss of pain. Jason held her close in a attempt to comfort her but didn't only a little to help. They stayed still as they let her pain subside, sharing a passionate kiss to help take her mind off it.

When Akiko felt comfortable enough, she slowly rose herself up with her legs and slowly slid down. She began to repeat the action, Jason steadying her with a hand on her hip and his other grasping her breast while she found a steady rhythm.

Her movements began to quicken, Jason panted at the feeling of his shaft sliding in and out of the tight sand wet walls. He began to slowly thrust as she lowered herself onto him, eliciting a moan from the artist, "M-more..." she breathed out.

The hero continued to thrust into her, both his hands steadying her waist as his movements worked to match her ethnic plunges. Jason's lips leaned forward to capture her's, moaning into her mouth when they found a even pace.

Pulling away from the kiss slightly, they laid their foreheads against one another, pleasure hitting them with each thrust and fall. Akiko's breath started to turn into pants, her movements where starting to quicken, ignore the pace.

Jason felt her walls clench around his shaft, she was getting close, "Aki should I-" he started before the artist shook her head, her hair wiping around her face.

"No...taken care of-Ah!" she yelped as she plunged down when he pulled back, sending his shaft deep with in her.

The artist's walls began to close in like a vacuum around him, she felt her orgasm come and with a loud moan she let the sensations wash over her as Jason continued his thrusting into her, the feeling of her moist walls clenching around him brought him to a finish too, pulling out and sending his seed onto her inner thighs.

They just had sex. And they both thought it was pretty incredible.

(AN: Lemon is over everyone. You can uncover your eyes, nature's dirty deed is over and done with. Read along.)

The two new lovers curled up to one another, sheets covering their naked forms from the chest down. Akiko was lying beside Jason with a arm draped over her shoulders, facing his side while the two both caught their breath.

"That...that was..." Akiko breathed out, trying to find the perfect words to describe what they just shared.

Jason thought for second before answering, "Sensational?" he asked. Making them both chuckle.

Akiko laid her head down on his shoulder, her fingers started playing with the small golden necklace around the hero's neck. "I'm not gonna lie...I'm a little pissed we didn't do that sooner." she said, making them both laugh at the prospect again.

They where both giggly, they could say the world was going to end and they would still laugh. "So...good I take it?" Jason asked.

The young woman stopped playing with the necklace, she tilted her head up to meet his eyes. Leaning in, she captured her lips with his in a passionate kiss. Pulling away, they both smiled, "Perfect." she stated.

The two laid against the pillows of the bed close to one another as they invited sleep in. In the crescent moon outside the window, the light shined down onto the discarded mask on the floor, forgotten for the moment.

When morning came around, Jason was the first to wake. Slipping out of Akiko's grasp as gently as he could manage, he put his costume on and waited on the edge of the bed, waiting for his girlfriend to wake so he could bid fair well.

He didn't want to abandon her like this, against both their wills so to speak. It'd be different if they had to go somewhere for work or such, they could call one another, send letters, but he had to completely cut her out of his life. And he hated it.

Jason reached over to her face and brushed some hair out of her eyes. Poking her nose gently to amuse himself, azure eyes fluttered open, looking up she smiled as she clasped his hand with hers. "Hey..." she mumbled as she woke up.

The hero smiled, "Morning... how do you feel?" he questioned with some concern in his voice.

The artist rise from the bed, holding the covers to her chest as she did so, and stretched out her limbs, wincing slightly at the soreness at her center. "Pretty good. Though I wouldn't mind spending all day in bed with a big box of chocolates." she said as she popped her back.

The two sat in silence for the longest time, her thumb tracing small circles in his hand. "I'll miss you. And I swear if you go running off with one of those female superheroes-" she lightly threatened, making them both laugh at that.

Jason took a small breath before slowly rising from the bed, "I love you." he said simply, but conveying how much he would miss her through his voice.

She smirked a tiny bit, "I know." she said as she let his hand slip out from her's.

Making his way to the window, he looked back at her before slipping his mask on over his head. He kneeled down before leaping out the window, shooting a thread of webbing to the side of her apartment building as he swung away.

"Ok Verrick. I'm ready. Hit me with your best shot!" he called out as he swung away from his love's apartment building.

Verrick wasn't displeased by last night's events. Sure he couldn't say that he was Spider-Man to anyone, but he knew that Jason was vulnerable somewhere, otherwise he wouldn't wear a mask.

The CEO looked over a newspaper he picked up on his way to work, sitting comfortably at his desk he read over the positive reviews that the party he threw last night. Most of which where positive.

Sipping on his drink of coffee, he turned to the next page where a picture of Spider-Man fighting his men caught his eye. Reading the article, he nearly dropped his drink at the name of who wrote the article, Jason O-rou, "Hmm, clever boy. I gotta give you credit, didn't think I'd find you in the newspaper of all places." he said, setting the paper down on his desk as the door to his office opened.

Zhu-Li stepped through the door to his office and entered with a few folders in her hands, "Here are those files you requested sir. I must say, I'm surprised you had friends who could get these." she admitted.

The man grinned largely, "It helps to have friends I high places Zhu-Li, take note of that." he said as she set the parts down on his desk, "Thanks Zhu-Li, that'll be all for now." he said, the assistant bowing to him before exiting his office.

Verrick bushed the first few files aside before picking up the one he really wanted. "Ok Jason. Let's see what your story is." he said as he held his arch nemesis's social security file in his hands.

AN: First off, I warned you all it was going to be changed to M.

Alright I'm gonna adress it now. Yes I added a lemon to this story and it may not be the last. I'm sorry if it was bad but you can skip it!

Stories change and evolve over time and this is no different. I didn't intend to feature a lemon in this at all but as the story continued I felt that it was something that should have been explored.

Now I worked really hard on this and I hope you all like it, if not, you guys can scroll past it.

Anyway, I was inspired for the 90's cartoon for this chapter mostly and I think it fit perfectly. Now that Verrick and Jason know each other's alter egos, things are different now.

So consider this my Happy New Years's/Christmas present to you all. I hope you all have a great night with your friends and families, until next time!
