A/N: Okay here is the gym battle between Jasmine and Ash, I might to a flash back to the battle with Cynthia for her final Pokemon, has repeating gym battles can get boring.

Ollivine City Gym

Ash and the girls walked into the gym, and noticed how much busier it was now that Jasmine was working inside it again. They were suddenly approached by Janine. This had been the little girl who had pretended to be Jasmine and had used a Onix covered in water proof wax. Ash noticed the girl bowed her head.

"Hi Welcome to the Ollivine City Gym, my name is Janine, and I am one of Jasmines students here. Please follow me, Jasmine has been expecting you."

Ash turned to the girls and noticed their surprise on how well mannered Janine was being, especially after their first visit. They followed the small girl to one side of the Gym where Jasmine was busy giving a demonstration, however once she saw Ash, she ended the lesson and then walked over to him and bowed.

"Hi Ash, I just want to say thank you once more for all you did for me and sparkle. Janine could you inform the referee that the challengers have arrived."

Janine bowed her head and then skipped off, to locate the referee, leaving Jasmine with Ash, Sabrina and Cynthia.

"So you have most likely heard this all before but, here we use three Pokemon each, only the challenger is allowed to substitute Pokemon, there is no time limit, and the winner will declared once all three of either challengers or Gym leaders Pokemon are knocked out."

Ash and Cynthia nodded to the rules and followed Jasmine over to the main battle field. "I hope you don't mind, but I would like my students to observe this battle, they were all quite excited to meet you Ash for obvious reasons."

Ash laughed nervously and noticed Cynthia and Sabrina were trying hide their smiles. They noticed Janine appeared from one of the room with the referee, who was dressed in the official Pokemon referee attire. Jasmine and Ash separated and made their way over to their trainers box. Ash had decided he would fight first and Cynthia could challenge after, this gave Cynthia a chance to see what Pokemon Jasmine used.

The referee stepped onto the field and waited for the noise to quiet down around the field. "This is an official Johto League gym battle, between the challenger Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town in Kanto, and Jasmine the gym leader of the Ollivine City gym. This will be a three on three contest, only the challenger may substitute, there is no time limits. On three please reveal your first Pokemon. One, two, three."

Ash removed a ball from his belt. "Entei I choose you!" The ball opened and the legendary Fire Pokemon appeared and roared. Everyone in the crowd was speechless, however soon the noise started as students chatted in excitement at seeing a Legendary Pokemon first hand.

Jasmine looked across the field and blinked in surprise. "Wow Ash, you sure don't waste time do you. Lets go Forretress!" The ball opened up to reveal a steel dome shaped Pokemon, that was split into two halves and in the middle was a pair of eyes and what look like arms squirming around.

Ash opened Dexter quickly and examined the Pokemon in front of him.

Forrestress The steel bug Pokemon and the evolved form of Pinco, It stays encased in its steel shell, Its eyes are all that can be seen of its mysterious innards.

Ash put Dexter back into his pocket, so it was a steel/bug duel type. Ash heard the referee announced the battle, soon both flags dropped and the battle began. Ash decided to start things off. "Entei use Calm mind!"

Entei closed its eyes and meditated, raising its special attack and special defence. It then roared ready for battle.

Jasmine was surprised Ash hadn't attacked right of the bat, her Forrestress was at a huge disadvantage in this battle, and fire types move would normally KO her Pokemon, if it wasn't for its special ability, however Ash had given her an opportunity, and opportunity she couldn't afford to miss up on. "Forrestress use Toxic Spikes!"

The steel/bug type began to spin and scatter purple poison barbs all over Ash's side of the field, It then stopped spinning and waited for its next move.

Ash looked across the field, this was going to make it really difficult for Entei to move around the field, and not get poisoned. "Entei use Flamethrower!"

Entei roared and then opened its mouth and unleashed a powerful flamethrower that was heading towards Forretress, however Jasmine was ready.

"Forrestress use Protect!"

The bug/steel type covered itself in a blue dome which protected it from the powerful attack, once the flamethrower had powered down it dropped the shield.

Ash growled these spikes was really messing up his game plan, Entei was now reduced to long range attacks thanks to the toxic spikes scattered on the field. "Entei return!" Entei returned back to Ash, he then removed another ball from his belt. "If I can't use the field then I will use the air, I choose you Moltres!" The ball opened up and Moltres appeared and extended her burning wings ready for battle.

Jasmine was speechless, another legendary Pokemon, "Forretress use Stealth rock!"

Forretress again began to spin this time causing spectral stones to appear around Ash, which suddenly vanished.

Ash grinned so that was Jasmine game plan, entry hazards first the toxic spikes and now stealth rock. "Moltres use Flamethrower!"

Moltres opened its beak and let loose a torrent of hot flames that washed over Forrestress, once the attack had finished Forrestress suddenly flickered activating its effect of sturdy.

Jasmine smiled Ash really was taking her gym seriously, which she really appreciated. "Forrestress good job now use Explosion!"

Forrestress suddenly unleashed several spectral tentacles that wrapped around Moltres, who was trying to break free, it then started to glow and it exploded. The attack knocked Moltres down to the ground and she fell onto a few toxic spikes.

Ash frowned, now Moltres was poisoned he would have to end this battle quickly before too much damage was sustained. Again Ash had to hand it to Jasmine, using Explosion after Forretress had activated its ability sturdy, was very good strategy.

The referee raised the flag on Ash side of the field. "Forretress is unable to battle, the winner is Moltres, gym leader send out your next Pokemon."

Jasmine recalled her Forretress and kissed its ball, before taking another ball from her trainers belt. "Magneton I choose you!" The ball opened to reveal a Pokemon that resembled three Magnemites fused together, it floated on the field.

Ash groaned so her next Pokemon was a steel/electric duel type, this was going to make it even more difficult for Moltres being part flying. "Moltres use Heatwave!"

The fire legendary spread it wings and and flapped them really hard, producing a power fire wind that washed over the field and hit Magneton. For some serious damage. Magneton flickered activating its Sturdy ability.

Jasmine to be honest wasn't expecting Magneton to last long, she just wanted to take out at least one of Ash Pokemon, and Moltres was already suffering from being poisoned. "Magneton use Thunder!"

Magneton limbs began to generate electrical power which it then gathered into the centre of its body , once the energy had built up, it fired the bolt of electricity right at Moltres who cried out, however due to her being legendary the attack hadn't knocked her out.

Ash seeing Moltres didn't have much left decided to end it quickly. "Moltres use Heatwave once more!"

Moltres again flapped its wings and produced a wind of fire that washed over the field, however Jasmine had a nasty surprise for Ash.

"Magneton use Protect!" The heatwave washed over the shield leaving the steel type unharmed, however the same couldn't be said for Moltres who closed her eyes and fell to the field only for Ash to run onto it and catch her as she dropped.

The referee raised the flag on Jasmine side of the field. "Moltres is unable to battle, the winner is Magneton, challenger send out your next Pokemon.

Ash recalled Moltres and then looked to the field, toxic spikes were still scattered so Entei was a risk, which meant he would have to go with another flying type, still now that Magneton had used Protect, then it would be risky for it to use the same attack twice. Ash selected the ball from his trainers belt. "I choose you Gyarados!" The ball opened and the flying/water sea serpent appeared on the field and roared, it then winced as stealth rock activated.

"Gyarados use Flamethrower!" Gyarados roared and then unleashed a torrent of powerful flames from its mouth that hit Magneton, and caused it to be engulfed by flames. It fell to the floor with swirl for eyes.

The referee raised the flag on Ash's side of the field. "Magneton is unable to battle, the winner is Gyarados. Gym leader please send out your final Pokemon."

Jasmine recalled Magneton and then threw another ball onto the field. "I choose you Steelix!" The ball opened to reveal Onix evolved form, the scary face of Steelix grinned down on Gyarados.

Ash smiled, so her final Pokemon was Steelix. "Gyarados use Dragon dance!" Gyarados roared and then began to sway it body, until it was covered in a red and black aura. This would raise its attack and speed.

Jasmine smiled. "Steelix use Rock Slide!" Steelix roared and several big looking rocks appeared above Gyarados and began to fall all around it. It was trapped, however that wasn't the waste part, one of the rocks had hit its body and caused some damage.

Ash blinked in surprise. "Gyarados use Rock Smash!" Gyarados roared and was able to move its tail, it then glowed and smashed the rock to free itself.

Jasmine wasn't worried, Gyarados had wasted a move just trying to free itself. "Steelix use Rock throw!"

Steelix lashed its huge iron tail into the field and unearthed several rocks which it whipped with it tail towards Gyarados.

Ash noticed the rock incoming. "Gyarados dodge them now, and then use Flamethrower!" With the added speed from dragon dance, Gyarados was barely able to dodge the rocks, it then opened its mouth and used Flamethrower.

Ash grinned, now if jasmine did what he expected then this battle was his.

Jasmine was surprised that Gyarados was able to dodge her Steelix attack, and now she found a powerful flamethrower heading her way. "Steelix hurry use Dig now!" Steelix huge body began to burrow underground however it wasn't quick enough to get it whole body underground and the flamethrower scorched its tails, which soon vanished underground.

Ash smirked, she had done just as he had predicted, now he had her. "Gyarados use Earthquake!" The sea serpent roared and caused the earth to shake, suddenly the ground exploded as Steelix was uprooted and landed on the field causing a small crater, and dust to be kicked up.

Jasmine sighed, she had fallen right into his trap, however thanks to sturdy her Steelix should be able to battle. Unfortunately that wasn't the case as it had been hit with the flamethrower as it borrowed underground. Jasmine was about to issue her next attack when she noticed the dust cleared and showed Steelix was knocked out.

The referee raised the flag on Ash's side of the field. "Steelix is unable to battle the winner is Gyarados, due to all the gym leaders Pokemon being knocked out, I declare the challenger the winner."

Ash fist pumped and heard the huge applause from all the student sat around the field. He then bowed and recalled Gyarados. He watched as Jasmine recalled her Steelix and then accepted the red cushion from Janine. Ash walked into the centre of the field and approached the Gym leader.

"Congratulation Ash, as proof of your success here at the Ollivine City Gym, I bestow on you the Mineral badge, and thank you for going all out, it was a rare treat not to see one legendary but two."

Ash accepted the badge and placed it in his badge case. He then shook Jasmine hand. "Thank you for a great battle Jasmine, your use of entry hazards and your Pokemon ability sturdy really gave me a hard time."

Jasmine smiled. "Thank you Ash, now I need to get these Pokemon healed before I face Cynthia. Please feel to stay in the gym, I am sure my students have lots of questions for you."

Ash scratched the back of his head nervously. "Well I guess I could answer a few questions." Ash then walked over to his girlfriend and gave them both a hug and kiss, he then noticed the students had gathered around him, some were holding pen and paper others were raising their hands. Ash sighed the downside of being a Pokemon champion.
