Chapter 37

The Nightmare

General P.O.V.

During that night, Luna had a very strange dream. Cresselia appeared, telling Luna that her existence is pushing the world toward ruin. She said that if she remained the world would be destroyed. That caused Luna to wake up in the middle of the night. After she noticed that Jolt was still sleeping, she looked out at the sea in thought.

(That wasn't just a dream. That was Darkrai's doing, I'm sure of it! He's finally starting to make his move. I better be careful from now on. Until the final confrontation with him to reveal that I never forgot anything.) Then she turned to look at the still sleeping Jolt. (At least Jolt's still asleep. I should at least try to get some more sleep.)

The next morning, Luna and Jolt woke up and Jolt seemed to be in a good mood. " Oh, yeah! The weather's great again today! Let's do good again today, Luna!"

During the night, Cresselia appeared again in Luna's dream. She explained that because she was a human who came from the future, that she was not of this world. That is was creating a distortion in the fabric of space. That if the distortion of space were to expand the world would be ruined. That Luna was a presence that must not exist in this world. That she must not be here.

The next morning, Jolt was trying to wake Luna up. " Hey, Luna. Come on, Luna. Wake up, Luna. It's morning already." As Luna got up, she looked out at the sea in thought. (That was Darkrai's doing for sure! He's definitely ready to make his move!)

Jolt looked out at the sea. He seemed to be in a good mood. " Hey, look at this! The weather's great again!" Then Jolt noticed Luna was lost in thought. " Why are you daydreaming? It's not like you, Luna. Come on, let's see some energy, Luna!"

(Jolt's even peppier than usual. He's a lot happier than normal. Looks to me like Darkrai has been contacting him as well. But...Jolt is right. I need to cheer up.) After Luna nodded, Jolt seemed happier.

" Yes! That's the Luna that I know! Let's make this another big day, Luna!" However, when they went outside, Bidoof came up running up to them, worry written on his face. He explained that Azurill was in trouble and that they brought him to the guild, and Bidoof led them to the guild.

Marill explained that no matter what they tried, he wouldn't wake up. Luna recognized the signs of what was happening, but kept her thoughts to herself. ( It looks like Darkrai has been busy.) Then Jolt spoke while looking at Azurill with worry. " He seems to be tormented by something..."

Then Bidoof thought of trying to go inside the nightmare, which caused Chatot to suggest Drowzee. Luna and Jolt found out from Magnemite that Drowzee was on . So Luna and Jolt left to go and get Drowzee. When they got to the peak and saw Drowzee and got his attention, he thought that he was in trouble. Once they explained the situation, he agreed and left with them and sent them into the nightmare.

There they met Cresselia. She explained that Azurill was locked in a nightmare caused by the distortion of space and this fate would happen to everyone if not stopped. She tried to attack, but stopped when she heard Drowzee and left. Then Luna and Jolt explained what happened inside, but Jolt lied when they asked if Cresselia told them how to stop it. When they got back Jolt told Luna the reason before they went downstairs to go to sleep for the night.
