Two Minds, One Choice
Chapter 38
... Jonny then picked up a basket with his free hand and hung it off of his arm, as Jac Placed in a few bottles of water, some coca cola and a bottle of orange fanta, they then walked around to the other side where the crisps and chocolate were kept, "Right what do you want hunny!" Jac said as she was indecisive about what she was going to have, instead picking up about 3 bars of chocolate and two packets of crisps just for her, Jonny then picked up a couple of bars for him and some crisps and threw them into the basket. "Ok we will get a few magazines and some tea and we can get on our way with the rest of the journey!" Jonny said as he let Jac choose her magazines as he looked at the mens magazines...
After they had a good look around all of the aisles, they approached the cashier desk, Jonny placed the nearly full looking basket on to the free space and took out his wallet as Jac stood there, gripping onto his arm like a child. 5 minutes later after the cashier had scanned and bagged up all of their items, she totalled the price up and announced it to the pair,
"That will be £20.60 please!" She said, before turning her head to look outside the shop as Jonny dived into his wallet and got out the correct change before passing it to the impatient looking young women. She quickly took the money and opened the cash compartment before placing the money neatly into the correct spaces. Jonny and Jac took the two bags and walked out of the shop, sniggering slightly as they found her attitude slightly amusing,
"She could give you a run for your money Jac!" Jonny said, jokingly as Jac turned and faced him, raising her eye brows, knowing that he was joking but wanted him to feel guilty for what he had just said, "Oh Right, just remember Jonny, you have to spend another what, 6 hours with me in a car!" Jac said, smiling as she thought of the many evil things she could do to him during that time. Jonny looked at her, slightly scared, not clicking on that she was joking as well.
5 minutes later they had arrived at their car, Jonny zapped it open and opened the door for Jac as she heaved herself in and put on her seat belt, Jonny then closed her door and jogged slightly around to the other side and jumped into the car, placing the bag by Jac's feet and started the engine, before making his way back on to the motorway.
10 minutes later, Jonny had finally found his way back to the motorway and had joined the quiet stream of traffic heading in their direction, "Here's to the next 6 hours sweet heart!" Jonny said, taking a sip of his hot chocolate as they cruised down the empty lane. Jac turned to look at him, also clutching onto a large cup of hot chocolate, smiling slightly,
"I hope you realise that we are not buying Isla-Grace anything tartan or Scottish whilst we are in Scotland Maconie!" She said, chuckling to herself, taking a sip of her piping hot drink. Jonny giggled out loud and answered her,
"Oh trust me, you wont be able to resist them! You'll fall in love as soon as you see the little girl stuff!" Jonny said, knowing that he had secretly bought something tartan off of the internet as soon as they found out that they were expecting a little girl.
Half an hour later!
After cruising down the motorway for the last half an hour, Jac had fallen asleep, with her hands lovingly wrapped around her bump and her knees propped up on the glove box, Jonny hadn't realised that she had fallen asleep as he was concentrating on the road, he then quickly glanced over to her, to see if she was ok, as he hadn't heard her moan or complain about his driving in a while, after agreeing with her that she could drive when they get closer to where they were stopping, he then saw her sound asleep, her head resting against the door, with her mouth wide open, he then turned away, looking back at the road and laughed to himself as he turned the radio on so he could hear it.
After messing around with it for 5 minutes Jonny had finally found a familiar radio station, Capital FM, and they were playing the top 40 hits, Jonny then found himself humming and singing along to almost every song as they came and went. 20 minutes later one of his favourite songs came on the radio, Olly Murs- Right Place Right Time, he then found himself, singing at the top of his lungs, in his element, belting out the lyrics to the songs, not taking in to account that Jac was asleep just next to him, but he couldn't help himself,
"So this is what it feels like, Being the right place the right time, i'm hanging on for dear life, hoping we can make this a long night, this is why we came, I can feel it in my veins, yeah yeah, so this is what it feels like, right place the right time with you, right place the right time with you right place the right time!" Jonny sang, gaining some funny looks by passersby as they drove past him in different lanes. Jonny brushed of the looks and continued as another song came on to the radio,
"Oh my goodness, they're playing some tunes today!" Jonny said, gasping as he prepared himself for the next song as the intro music started, he took a deep breath and began singing,
"Stripped to the waist we fall into the river, cover your eyes so you don't know the secret, I've been trying to hide, we held our breath to see our names were written on the wreck of 86 that was the year I knew the panic was over, and since we found out, That ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN!..." Jonny sang, in his element, causing Jac to wake with a startle as she heard his attempt at singing, she let out a big stretch and a little groan as she woke herself up properly,
"What on earth is that noise Jonny! Do me a favour, never audition to go on the x factor please!" Jac said, cosying back up in her seat, grabbing out a bottle of fizzy drink as she had a dry throat, Jonny sat there laughing as he switched to the correct lane to get to his destination...
