Ulysses' lower lip twitched, both of his hands tightening into fists at his sides. He could only barely hold back the anger that was pulsating within his core.
Everything was red, bloody red.
This... This all but made the victory tonight in this damned pirate haven all but useless, meaningless!
They escaped?! Impossible!
"Are you certain of such, Captain Optimus?"
Ulysses only managed to hiss out this much without losing his own composure.
Those bastards, evading my hands once again! How long must I wait until I can obtain my revenge? How long must I wait to see that His Majesty's soul is placed to rest?!
"...Affirmative, Supreme Commander."
Ulysses growled, his fist flying out and landing upon one of the very few remaining sections of wall still standing intact in the ruins that was once the largest pirate haven in the Spiral: cracks spiraling out from where his fist connected with the stone, the wall crumbling into a pile of rubble at his feet.
I will tear both of them into shreds! I swear to you, my lord and master, I will obtain revenge upon those worms for your death! Pray that you both perish before my hands come upon you both, or your blood will paint the spans of the Spiral for all of eternity!
'Though, does this really matter, that those two bastards managed to get away?'
A little voice spoke within his mind, chuckling merrily as though it had just heard a amusing joke of some sort.
'You are now the king of two crowns - the Assassin Order and the Valencian Armada - you have everything you could ever possbily want for to create an Empire, to conquer the rest of the Spiral. With the Spiral in your hands, where can the map pieces hide? Where can your enemies flee from your watching eyes?'
Just as fast as the rage had shot through his entire frame, it disappeared, replaced by glee, the same kind he had felt when he brutally slaughtered the Templar master Robert Buchet.
Yes, where can they hide? Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, they only have one place to go, and that is to deliever themselves right into my hands!
FIN.
Alright I miscounted, this is the final chapter of VL. I could sometimes hardly believe that this all started as an idea within my mind, around November or October of 2013, when I first asked myself, "What would happen if Ulysses, instead of a pirate, was an Armada officer?" From there on, the idea begun to develop and change into what would eventually become Valencian Legend.
In the beginning, I had originally written this to follow along with the game plotline, with Adrian being that much more likable, and Edward serving as a supporting character to him, and Ulysses was essentially a sociopath within that version. However, later when I begun to realize that the clockworks were actually right in their regime and ideals, I twisted some of the ideas to make Ulysses a little more human and likable, all while shaping Adrian into the mirror version of the protagonist so many seem to write about without realizing that the pirates are actually the evil bastards of the game. And thus, here is Valencian Legend as it is today.
Though this may be done now, I may have mentioned before, there is a sequel to this that may be coming out, if all of my plans go well, sometimes toward the end of this month called "Valencian Empire: El Dorado". Yes, Adrian and Atticus will ultimately face what is properly deserved for all of their actions, especially now that Ulysses is the Supreme Commander of the Armada and that much more empowered to face those two bastards.
Until next time, my dear readers :).
