When Lapis wakes up she is inside Blue Diamond's control room with Blue Diamond, who is sit on her chair, with her back turned to Lapis.

"Mother?" Lapis stands up, feeling a little bit dizzy.

"You are finally awake." Blue says while looking at a screen.

"Aren't you happy to see me? I'm finally home." The blue gem asks confused.

"I know you are home." Blue holds herself to not look at Lapis. "And you already have an assignment." She gives a screen to Lapis, without even looking inside her eyes.

"You want me to go back to Earth?!" Lapis takes a step back. "But I just got back home!"

"Are you questioning my authority, Lapis Lazuli?" Blue raises an eyebrow.

"No…" Lapis looks at the screen. "I'm not." She sighs.

"Good. Now you can go. There are other gems waiting for you." Blue shakes her hand in the air.

"Ok." Lapis takes a deep breath. "I will meet with them next." She walks towards the door. "I'm glad to see you again." The ocean gem leaves the room and starts her way towards the ship she is supposed to go. On her way to the hangar, she looks around Homeworld and how it looks different from what she remembers. "It looks so advanced." She observes the technology around her, impressed by it.

"Are you the Lapis Lazuli who just came back from Earth?" Someone asks her once she gets in the hangar.

"Yes, I am." Lapis looks at the gem talking to her. It's a jasper.

"What took you so long?" Jasper takes Lapis by the arm and makes her get inside the green ship shaped in the form of a hand.

"I was with Blue Diamond." Lapis tries to make Jasper let go of her.

"You want me to believe Blue Diamond was talking to you?" Jasper laughs. "Find another excuse next time."

Once they are inside, Jasper gets Lapis to the control room where Peridot is waiting for them.

"Is that her, Jasper?" Peridot turns around on her chair to look at the other gems.

"Yes. She is all yours." Jasper let Lapis go and leaves the two gems alone.

"I'm Peridot Facet-2F5L Cut-5XG. Are you Lapis Lazuli Facet-2X1B Cut-8AL?" Peridot asks while reading her screen.

"I think so?" Lapis shrugs. She doesn't actually know which lapis lazuli she is supposed to be.

"Take a seat." The green gem presses a button and makes a chair show up. "You are my informant, so tell me everything you know. If you collaborate, I'll be really happy. I assigned you to this mission and I expect you to do your best!"

"Ok." Lapis sits on the chair. "I will."

"Good. So, while I was checking the progress of the Cluster, I've collected some information of my own, but I will ask you some questions just to make sure you don't have anything else to add."

"Ok." Lapis takes a deep breath, making a bored face after that.

"You know, it's not like I asked to be here. I was assigned to this by Yellow Diamond." Peridot rolls her eyes. "Anyway, I will ask about some local species for now." She reads her reports, her original reports. "Do you know anything about a My Dad?"

"Never heard of." Lapis crosses her arms, still with a bored face.

"A Connie?" Peridot makes a curious face.

"Nop." The ocean gem rolls her eyes.

"Lars and Sadie?" Peridot raises an eyebrow.

"No." Lapis closes her eyes.

"Are you sure you've been there?" Peridot rolls her eyes as well.

"Pretty sure. Thousands of years sure." The blue gem crosses her legs.

"I see. Maybe you know a Steven then? The Stevens seem to know a lot about Earth and gems." Peridot stops to look at Lapis, but her mind goes elsewhere. For Peridot it feels like she saw Lapis doing that surprised face before, but the same way that thought came it goes away.

"No." Lapis looks away from Peridot. "I don't know about any Steven."

"I have a feeling that tells me you are lying." Peridot looks at the screen.

"Who was trapped on Earth for thousands of years?" Lapis raises an eyebrow. "Exactly, me!"

"Chill Lazuli." Peridot rolls her eyes. "Anyway… how did you manage to get out of planet Earth?"

"I was trapped in a mirror, but then I was set free. I tried to fly back home, but my gem was cracked."

"How did you heal yourself? Did you associate yourself with the Crystal Gems?"

"Of course not!" Lapis looks into Peridot's eyes.

"Their leader, Rose Quartz, has the capability to heal gems." The technician looks at Lapis as well.

"It wasn't a gem. A human helped me!" Lapis gives up. She can't handle the accusation of being associated to the Crystal Gems. "It was Steven."

"So you know a Steven!" Peridot shouts while pointing at Lapis.

"Yes, but he is only a human."

"This Steven seems to know a lot about gems. I think we need to be careful around this creature." Peridot stands up and starts walking around the room. "A human that can fix things… interesting."

"Is that all?" Lapis stands up as well.

"Lazuli, you lied to me at first, but I can forget about that if you tell me everything you know." Peridot points at the ocean gem. "You know a lot you are not telling."

"How can you be so sure?" Lapis holds her own arm.

"I am the one who asks the questions here, Lazuli." Peridot point at the chair. "Let's start this again."

"I don't know about anything else." Lapis sits again.

"Look, I'm asking you nicely. I don't want to call Jasper to make you talk." Peridot sits as well. "She can be a brute when she wants to."

"If I tell you all I know, will you let me out of any future fights?" Lapis takes a deep breath.

"Yes. We might go easier on you if you help us with this mission." Peridot smiles.

"Alright." Lapis takes a deep breath. "I will tell everything I know." She looks at her hands. Steven was nice to her, but right now she can't go on trial for lying as an informant. Not now that she doesn't have her mother to cover for her. She was so cold when Lapis arrived that she wouldn't be surprised if she condemned her to stay in a cell until the end of times.

"Good choice." Peridot looks at the screen. "Now, from the beginning, what does the Steven have to do with gems?"

"He lives with them." Lapis looks at her interrogator. "He received the mirror I was in from a pearl. I told him how to set me free. He didn't know I was a gem, so he helped me." Lapis takes a deep breath, trying to concentrate. "Once I was free, I tried to come back home with Earth's ocean, but it didn't work at all."

"Earth doesn't have enough water available for that." Peridot rolls her eyes.

"How do you know that?" Lapis asks with curiosity.

"Huh?" Peridot shakes her head. "Know what?" She asks confused.

"How do you know there isn't much water available?"

"I've been there once…" Peridot closes her eyes. "It is all a blur, but I know the Homeworld warp is surrounded by water. By what I can remember, that amount of water wouldn't even make you get out of the Milky Way." She shakes her head. "Anyway, the Crystal Gems destroyed the Homeworld warp and now I have to go there myself."

"The Crystal Gems don't care about other gems. They just care about Earth, unlike Steven who cares about both."

"Maybe this Steven can help us out." Peridot smiles. "We will contact him once we get to Earth."

"Wait, no!" Lapis shouts.

"Why not?" The technician asks confused. "He seems to be full of useful information."

"But Jasper…" Lapis looks at the door.

"I ask the questions here. She just punches the things that don't answer to me." Peridot turns around to fly the ship. "If the Steven answers us, he won't meet Jasper at all."

"Peridot, let's change this plan." Lapis stands up.

"Lazuli, you're not here to give me advice. You are here to answer my questions. Did I ask you anything?" Peridot turns around again to look at Lapis.

"No." The ocean gem looks away from the green gem.

"Good. Glad we made that clear. Now, if you excuse me, I have a ship to fly." 5XG activates the ship's hyper speed. "You can go and stay in some room or whatever."

"I will." Lapis walks out of the room and goes wait in another room made for passengers. The only thing she can think while waiting inside the room is that she needs to contact Steven somehow. He needs to know they are coming for him.

She doesn't even want to think what Jasper will do if she meets Steven. So, in attempt to warn the boy, she decides to look for a communication device. Something she can use to contact him back on Earth. Unfortunately for her, after looking around the ship for an hour, she can only find a communication room near the control room where Peridot is. So, in order to send the message, Lapis has to be fast or someone can show up and find out about what she is doing.

"So…" Lapis looks at the panel in front of her. "How do I?" She touches the keyboard and a screen shows up. "Oh. Where do I want to send this?" The blue gem reads what is written on the screen. "Earth o course." She finds the button to start recording. "I hope you're able to hear this." She talks to the screen, trying to say everything she needs quickly before someone finds her. "There's a gem looking for you, she even knew your name. I don't know how! I didn't tell her, I swear! She's on her way to Earth, and she's not alone. Steven, Homeworld is not the way it used to be. Everything here is so advanced! I can't even understand it. There's no way anything on Earth can stand up to it. Please, don't put up a fight, It'll only lead to devastation-"

Lapis wants to tell him more, but she is stopped by an orange hand that grabs her by the wrist, making her stop the recording and send it before she could finish it.

"What are you doing brat?!" Jasper shouts at Lapis.

"Jasper!" Lapis tries to free herself, but with no success.

"I knew there was something off about you." Jasper walks out of the room still holding Lapis by the wrist. "You are a traitor to your Homeworld!" She stops in front of a cell. "And this is what we do with traitors!" She throws the blue gem inside the cell and activates the shield.

"Let me go!" Lapis touches the shield, just to find out that it can cause a lot of pain.

"This is where you are going to stay for the rest of this trip." Jasper punches the wall next to the cell.

"Jasper!" Peridot runs towards the orange gem. "I heard some noises. What is going on?" She looks at Lapis. "And why is my informant locked up in a cell?"

"Your informant sent a message to the rebels on Earth. She is working with them." Jasper points at the blue gem. "She is a traitor."

"What?" Peridot looks at Lapis, surprised.

"Peridot, I-" The blue gem tries to convince 5XG.

"That is enough." The technician closes her eyes, trying to concentrate. "I can still interrogate her this way." She sighs. "We need to stop on the nearest diamond base once we get there, so get ready, Jasper."

"You don't need to tell me what to do." Jasper walks away from the technician and enters inside another room.

"Why did you do that?" Peridot looks at Lapis once she makes sure Jasper is gone.

"I had to." Lapis sits on the floor.

"Why do you keep trying to protect this human?!" 5XG shouts and a few seconds later her gem starts to hurt, making her close her eyes in pain. In a second Lapis's face comes to her mind. She can only see her tears and those blue eyes right in front of her. It feels like she is inside a dream, all blurry.

"Are you ok?" Lapis asks Peridot a little bit confused, making the technician snap out of the image inside her head.

"Of course I am." Peridot places a hand on her gem and then looks at Lapis again. "Lazuli, have I ever asked you anything like that before?"

"No?" Lapis raises an eyebrow, a little bit worried about Peridot's sanity. "Are you really feeling good for this mission?"

"How I feel is irrelevant." Peridot takes a deep breath. "Anyway, I will come back here later to ask you a few more questions." The technician turns her back at Lapis. "You shouldn't have contacted the rebels. It just made you look guilty." She shakes her head. "Just when I thought you started to do the right thing."

"Steven deserved a chance." Lapis tells Peridot. "He deserved to know we were coming."

"Like if that could help this Steven." 5XG rolls her eyes. "If this human doesn't give us the answers we need, Jasper will make it talk. You just made things worse for you and at what cost?" She starts her way back to the control room, leaving Lapis with her thoughts.

All the ocean gem thinks about is if the message she sacrificed herself to send was delivered safely to Steven.

"Now it is on you, Steven." Lapis tells no one in particular before closing her eyes and getting some rest.
