When she first flew she was a child full of dreams and happiness and she had the help of two boys who had been at arms reach all the time.
Now she was alone, no happy thoughts, and falling apart.
She thought that if she tried to lie to herself or remember the past it would be enough. Letting go was a lot harder than she thought, but not impossible.
She wanted to see Peter, know he was safe, let him know he was not abandoned, that she was still there for him. That gave her courage.
Thinking of him smiling and next to her made her feel happy in her heart.
Before she reached the swirling ocean she sore to the sky as if she had gained wings.
The sky was dark, full of gray and powerful winds that tore at Luna, but she remained concentrated. She was pushed sideways and because she was still new to flying it made it very hard for her. Neverland was cold and almost completely covered in white, she feared the worse had happened to Peter, after all, the weather in Neverland was a mirror of Peter Pan's heart.
"AHHH" - She screamed as she swirled in the air.
"Stay calm, focus, don't give in to fear," - a voice echoed in her head.
"I'm trying!"
A silver light reached her and she almost screamed of happiness as she tried to follow Silver Bell to a near cliff in the mountains. The landing was not as gracious as she wanted.
"It's too cold. What happened to Neverland? It's like I'm in the inside of a storm. Silver Bell, think we can move someplace safer?" - Luna said as she got up from a bundle of snow. Silver Bell tried leading her to the trees nearby, but there was no hope in Luna finding her way to any of the places she thought could help her find Peter. "Dammit... Sil, you think you can find Fairy Hollow?"
But before the pixie could answer something snuck up on Luna pulling her away to the frozen abyss of the cliff. it looked like a copy of Marcus only he looked like a shadow, just like the one Nick and Peter that had attacked her before.
"I'm not going to be bait, not anymore, get off me!" - Luna yelled as she kicked him and tried to run but the pile of snow made it difficult to move. taking Peter's dagger out she tried to move as fast as she could. "Sil! help!"
Marcus's shadow ran faster than she thought and he almost had her when a pistol shot was heard. Luna saw the shadow vanish in front of her like smoke, behind it was Alexander with his pistol pointed at her.
"So you came back?"
"How did you know I'd be here?"
"Lucky guess. Get ready, more of them are close, he knew you would try to come back for him."
"He who? Ben?"
"I wish," - Alexis said taking out his sword and facing the trees.
"We're trapped!" - Luna yelled as she saw 3 more of the shadow figures moving towards them.
"Me trapped!? Never!" Alexis said with a smirk as he fought them off. Luna looked at Silver and she moved making a powerful light towards the shadows, making them vanish. "You know I can handle myself better than you give me credit for, darling."
"How are they finding us? I just got here for crying out loud! when do I get a break?"
"It's because you are full of warm energy, in other words your emotions are very strong right now, Luna. We have to move."
"Move where?" But Alexis held her by her hip and jumped down the snowy cliff, giving no explanation. "Are you mad?" Luna yelled at him as they rolled over the snow.
"Relax, I look before I leap."
"Don't give me that crap, you piece of shit!"
"Focus Luna, we don't have much time," - Alexis told her getting up looking around.
"You told me you would help me find him how am I going to that if I don't even know where he is?"
"You have something that's connecting to Peter, I need you to try and reach him, I have a feeling you already know what I'm talking about."
"They are just nightmares, that's all they were!" Luna panicked as she suddenly knew what he was referring to. "We should wait for backup from Max," Luna tried changing the topic, but Alexis gave her a smirk she knew to well. "What happened now?"
"She can't join us cause that way is sealed, it got locked the moment you arrived to Neverland."
"Can't you do anything?"
"This is not a fairy tale, this won't end with you yelling and crying! This ends when you, Peter or any of us dies," he held Luna with both hands as his eyes flared up with desperation "Fuck it."
"What!?"
"I know were he is... But he won't wake up, he's like a statue of ice."
"Oh, NOW you want to talk!?" She felt like she was about to go nuts, but taking a deep breath and hoping Alexander had a good reason for not wanting to tell her sooner she spoke, "Can he be moved?"
"No, when I tried it the ice rooted to the ground as if trying to seal him were he stood. I only had time to get him out of the water and hide him where he could not be found."
"You're telling me that after he fell to the sea you jumped after him?"
"Coraline got him."
"Where is he, Alexander!?"
He stayed quiet.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner? Why are you still not telling me?"
He stared at Luna trying to tell her the truth with his eyes trying to tell her about the danger, about how time was the only thing they had left and it was running out.
"Listen, you won't stop, not for nothing or no one that is not Peter Pan, once we get to him it's up to you and you alone. If you fail we are all dead and Neverland will be frozen forever.
"When are you going to tell me who's behind all this?"
"let's go!" - He ran and pulled Luna as well.
Luna had met Alexander when he was already a pirate and a traitor. She knew him as the enemy and nothing more, but when she started to recall him in the past she saw nothing but a boy full of anger, a boy who had lost his way back home while searching for a friend. Peter had also lost his way, but he had continued to lie to himself about being okay. Alexis had taken what had happened and tried to do something else, something more. Now while they ran together she saw the Lost Boy in Alexis, the one she was sure Peter still believed in.
Running was very hard with so much snow and cold, but they could not fly, it was even more dangerous. Silver Bell stayed hidden in Luna's pocket were the cold would not reach her so much, but her light was still strong.
The winds picked up and she felt something approaching the area. The forest got darker, the enemy was near.
"You need to go, find him and wake him up! We're almost out of time! The heart can only take so much, if you can't get him out of there he will die!"
"What about you!?"
"This may be our last meeting sweetheart so..." He seemed lost for words. "Tell him..."
"NO!" Luna stopped him. "Whatever you want to tell him, tell him yourself! Don't give me this farewell crap! You have survived till now and we're close to winning, so don't you fucking let them take you down, don't forget you have to tell Peter the truth you... you..." Luna felt herself feeling as if everything was collapsing around her. "You have to tell them you're sorry, they are waiting for you."
"Let's promise to reunite, promise me we will meet again!" - Luna extended her hand, but Alexis hesitated for a moment before reaching for her.
"Okay." He took out his sword as he gave her the first warm smile she had seen from him since they had met again. Something jumped out of the trees, but Alexis hit it in time. "GO!"
With a last glance at him she ran turning away from him, letting go of him and running towards her path in the forest. As Silver Bell flew out, she followed her, it seemed the fairy knew were Alexis meant to go.
"Don't look back Luna!" Alexander yelled knowing she would be tempted to look, but she remained looking forward already having a long distance between them. She heard the sounds of swords clashing, they had reached him. As Luna saw a clearing in the forest she suddenly found herself feeling nostalgic at the sight, it was the tree house Alexis had hidden Peter in. the tree house he had once destroyed, but it had been reconstructed. She only wish she knew who had done it.
Luna was almost at the entrance when she tripped and hit the snow. It seemed it had been kind of twisted fate considering what was going on.
Alexis flew up for a moment and saw Luna had reached the clearing, he closed his eyes as he went down laughing.
"Sorry Luna, guess I can't keep that promise," - he whispered as he took out his pistol and locked it to his head. "I WIN THIS TIME!"
Luna had gotten up and slid to the door as she heard a gun shoot in the forest. Her heart skipped over a fear she thought she had no reason to feel.
Sliding in the loop of the tree roots she finally reached the end hitting a wooden wall covered in ice. As she got up she found what she so desperately seek out
