UPDATED 12/25/14 Made some edits to this chapter, wasn't much though.

Okay so this next one is GaLe chapter, nothing too crazy, but I added a lot of my own stuff in it, considering the show doesn't show everything that happens. It was nice to get a little more creative freedom back for this part let me tell you! But I couldn't do anything to crazy… in saying that I hope ya all like it! Please let me know!

Notes to my reviewers below!

Recap:

"So in other words…" Cana was speaking once again. "If we try to get rid of them we'll be risking out lives in the process…" She finished her voice going low. Levy couldn't take it anymore; she glanced up at Cana fearfully as she continued to cradle their fallen comrade.

"What should we do?! Those things could wipe out the whole town!" She questioned her voice consumed in panic.

"We gotta take down Laxus! FAST!" Cana answered, as she stood ready to run off and take action. Lucy was clenching her fist down at her sides her eyes looking determined.

"Okay! In the mean time I'll help the citizens evacuate!" The blond announced as she started running off wasting no time. Happy's wings suddenly appeared as he quickly was on her tail.

"I'm coming with you!" He shouted seriously as Cana watched them go she yelled back,

"Bixlow and Freed are still out there! Be careful you two!" She turned to look at Natsu with one last determined look before turning around and running off herself. Juvia followed just behind Cana leaving Levy, the unconscious Bisca and the two dragon slayers behind. Both Natsu and Gajeel just turned and glared at the lacrima's in the sky with gritted teeth both of them furious that they were useless all, because they were still stuck. Stuck and forced to watch as Laxus reaped havoc on their guild and threatened the lives of the whole town.

Iron Gray Chapter 38 The Smartest Fairy

"Bisca…" Levy was speaking the fallen women's name just under her breath as she cradled her shoulders. Gajeel stood with arms folded his crimson eyes resting on the tiny blue haired girl and her concerned expression. His teeth were clenched together in anger at their situation. His eyes shifted off of Levy and back up to the floating objects in the sky. The yellow lacrimas just hovered there spinning as if they were harmless, taunting them all with the reality of their purpose. Gajeel's studded brow lowered as his red eyes pierced through the nearest sphere, what were they going to do? Even if Cana and Juvia could find Laxus could they really beat him and his lackeys? Gajeel knew Laxus was strong and even if that were somehow possible it wouldn't necessarily stop him from setting off this thunder palace.

Gajeel could feel his muscles clenching as he thought about this, his whole body was on edge. The worst part about all of it was that he was still completely useless to even help in the effort to stop the lightning bastard along with Salamander. They were both still stuck, but Natsu who had been having similar thoughts seem to forget this particular fact as his rage got the best of him.

The fire dragon slayer was standing there just as tensely as Gajeel, his right fist balled up and ready to punch anything or anyone who got in his way. His sights set on the lacrimas in the sky as he also clenched his teeth with fangs exposed.

"This was all fun and games at first, but now you've crossed the line!" Natsu was suddenly shouting towards the sky as if somehow Laxus could hear him. Both Levy and Gajeel were watching him now as he suddenly lost all patience. He started running towards the end of the balcony nimbly jumping over the railing and onto the slanted roof of the guild.

"Natsu!" Levy was yelling her voice cracked in panic as she watched him suddenly collide into the invisible wall. Natsu bounced back with a small yell from the pain of colliding into the invisible barrier; red runes began to glow in the spot he impacted. He slid back some on the roof, but he quickly recovered biting down and preparing to once again throw himself back at the invisible runic wall. He charged back towards it his hands coming up first followed shortly by his forehead as he angrily head butted the wall.

What is he thinkin'? He can't get out that way… Gajeel was thinking as he watched his fellow dragon slayer continue to pound at the wall before him. Levy was watching with wide eyes; as she slowly began to set Bisca back down.

"You coward!" Natsu was still shouting as his hands pushed against the glowing red runes. He was growling and sweating out of frustration as Levy and Gajeel watched him fight the losing battle. "If you want to beat master so bad," He was shouting between gritted teeth as his body continued to push on the wall before him, "Then why don't ya come here and fight gramps for it yourself?!" He finished before pounding his forehead on the runes once again. This time he hit it so hard that what looked like red electricity started being unleashed around the spot of his many impacts. "When I get out of here you're gonna pay for this!" Natsu was shouting his words quaking with rage just as he head butted the wall a third time.

Levy was watching Natsu with concern, but she remained surprisingly calm as Natsu continued to lose control. Gajeel's eyes went from the Salamander to Levy as she slowly leaned back on her knees. She was still watching Natsu as his continued to push against the runes to no avail. The veins on his forehead were popping out as he growled with gritted teeth. The wall was beginning to flourish in red streaks at the force of Natsu's body being pushed against it. It looked almost as if the runes were threatening to strike him back.

"Stop!" Levy suddenly yelled at the stubborn dragon slayer. "Just calm down!" She added, but Natsu didn't take the advice. Instead he just stopped pushing and instead began to resort to punching and kicking at the runic wall.

"I can't calm down!" He shouted back. Levy was finally standing as she stepped up towards the end of the balcony so that she could look down at Natsu standing on the roof as he continued his assault on the wall.

"We're not going to get out of here that way." She responded her voice now calm as she tried to be the voice of reason. Natsu was growling as he continued to punch at the wall his anger still getting the best of him.

"This sucks! Stupid invisible walls are everywhere!" He yelled back between gritted teeth. Levy's eyebrows lowered and she began to smile confidently to herself as she watched the red runes that appeared every time Natsu's fist and foot made contact with the invisible wall. She was beginning to understand now that Freed had obviously set up an enchantment around the guild to keep the Master in, but for whatever reason Natsu and Gajeel couldn't leave either. Her eyes watched the runes that reappeared and disappeared with each strike Natsu made. She could do it… she could break the enchantment with the right research.

"It's an enchantment." She stated confidently. Gajeel who stood behind her with eyes closed and arms still folded wanted to roll his eyes at Levy's statement. Was she just figuring all this out?

"Yea, thanks we already knew that." He stated sarcastically. Levy just turned towards him, not at all annoyed by his smugness.

"Well since it's a kind of script magic." At this Gajeel opened his eyes and glanced at her. "I think I might be able to break the spell." She responded her voice sounding matter of factly. At this news Gajeel's arms unfolded and his eyes went wide with amazement.

"Oh yea?" He questioned genuinely surprised. At this news Natsu finally stopped his assault on the wall and turned towards Levy looking up at her from his spot on the roof.

"Can you do that? Really?!" He asked her hastily, his voice sounding so hopeful that it made Levy smile brightly at him her eyes closing.

"Of course!" She answered. If there was one thing Levy was confident about, it was her ability to handle any kind of script magic. It might take some time, but she knew she could get them out. She opened her hazel eyes and looked to Natsu, "And when I do you guys will be free to go track down Laxus!" Natsu began leaping back up the roof, his feet suddenly landing on the balcony just in front of Levy surprising her somewhat so she stumbled back slightly. Gajeel regarded Natsu with one skeptical brow raised as the other dragon slayer's black eyes peered right into Levy's large ones intensely with his head tilted.

"Okay I'm all ears, Levy. What we gotta do?" Levy's eyebrows shot back up, "Let's get Bisca into the infirmary first." She answered. "Then I'm going to need some books from the library." Levy added her tone businesslike. "So I'm going to need one of you guys to help me with that…" She finished her eyes glancing away as Natsu stepped down from the balcony and he started slowly kneeling down towards the fallen Bisca on the balcony floor.

"Right." He answered his voice determined as he slowly and carefully gathered the gunner in his arms. "I'll put her in the infirmary with gramps." He stated as he held her in his arms bridle style. Then his dark eyes glanced towards Gajeel who had been quiet throughout their whole exchange. "Gajeel." Gajeel's red eye's matched Natsu's as Levy also turned her sights on the tall iron dragon slayer. "You go with Levy and help her get what she needs from the library... Since you like it in there so much." Natsu added the last part with a large amused smile, causing Levy to raise an eyebrow at the statement. Wait, what does that mean? Levy wondered as she glanced at Gajeel puzzled. Does Gajeel like to read too or something? At this Gajeel's eyes got wide and his teeth were clenched shut as he glared at Natsu.

"I don't take orders from you Salamander." The iron dragon slayer droned back clearly irritated by the jest. Natsu's brow lowered and his head tilted to the side in annoyance.

"Ah C'mon, just do it man!" Natsu responded annoyed and somewhat whiny. Levy looked from Natsu back to Gajeel who was now wearing his normal stoic scowl. Her eyebrows were pushed together in worry that he wasn't going to help or listen, but instead just start another fight with Natsu. There was a brief pause as the two wizards stared at Gajeel expectantly causing him to finally just close his eyes and let out a seething breath.

"Alright, fine." He answered as he opened his eyes causing Levy to smile weakly at him. His reaction reminding her of how he had been in the infirmary, he had surprised her again. He seemed so difficult most of time and yet every once in a while he would just go along with things without much of a fight. Gajeel's eyes shifted to Levy as she smiled at him her eyes closing. He could feel heat gathering in the back of his neck and he immediately glanced away closing his eyes as the odd feelings began to prod at his insides once again.

"Okay I'm off then!" Natsu stated as he started jogging back through the balcony door with Bisca. There was a brief pause after Natsu left Levy and Gajeel alone on the balcony. The silence between them should have definitely been awkward considering everything that had happened between them the last few days, but the direness of the situation seem to make all the tension disappear for at least one of them.

Levy glanced back up towards the lacrima's in the sky thinking about the task she had at hand. There wasn't really time for her to think too much about their personal issues when all chaos was breaking out around them, but she did notice one thing. She felt oddly comfortable in his presence at that moment.

Gajeel had his eyes closed as he stood there beside Levy, he cracked one open so that he could glance at her as she stared up at the lacrimas in the sky. He couldn't seem to help his eye from traveling up and down her small petite form as her profile faced him with her attention elsewhere. He could feel his stomach turning slightly within him, just great… Had to be the damn library didn't it? Him and her alone in there, he could feel his uneasiness growing at the idea of it.

That was when she turned to face him without him expecting it, catching his stare again for about the hundredth time that day. He didn't bother to hide that he was looking at her instead he just opened his other eye and matched them with her hazel ones. She still didn't speak for a moment and so Gajeel found himself sighing again.

"C'mon." He finally said, "Let's get this over with…" He added as he turned away from her and began walking into the guild and Levy couldn't help, but smile again as she followed him in without a word.

Levy followed Gajeel down to the library and as they approached Gajeel stopped just before the doorway. Levy walked past him and then stopped once inside realizing he hadn't followed her in, she turned to face him confused. He stood there hesitating at the door just glaring inside as Levy glanced up at him with a lost stare.

"Gajeel…?" Levy questioned her hands going behind her back, but he didn't appear to be listening. He still just stood there his red eyes darting around the room. Gajeel didn't really hear Levy utter his name as he was too distracted by the scents, Well… her scent, still all over the room, still over powering and messing with his mind. His eyes narrowed and he clenched his jaw for a moment trying to push it out of his brain so that he could ignore it. "Gajeel?" Came Levy's voice a bit louder finally making Gajeel snap out of his haze long enough to look at her. She was looking at him, her large doe eyes confused and worried.

"Yea…?" He answered, bringing a hand up to the back of his head.

"Why are you... standing out there?" She asked cautiously out of confusion. Gajeel looked at her like a deer in the headlights not knowing what to say. "Are you going to come in here?" She asked smiling weakly as she started reaching up behind her head into her hair. "I mean…" Gajeel stood there watching as she undid the ribbon in her hair, causing the wild blue strands to fall forward now that they were free. "It's fine I guess if you don't want to, but…" She started saying, as she shook her head, her wavy locks flowing around her face loosely, before she reached back up. "I do kind of need your help." She finished just as she began gathering her hair back up.

Gajeel just continued to stand there completely mesmerized and dumbfounded as he watched her tie the ribbon back around the strands in a different way so that her hair was pulled back more. He could feel the heat in his face and ears for a moment, but luckily her eyes were looking up and off as she finished tying the ribbon in her hair giving him time to recover. He swallowed for a moment and then her eyes finally landed back on him as she finished with her hair and they both gave each other brief stare down. Then Gajeel just closed his eyes, lowered his head and finally stepped inside the library without a word. Levy blinked at him in confusion as he stepped up towards her so that he was right by her side. She looked up to him for a moment getting a bit embarrassed by the awkwardness between them.

"Right! Okay…" She spoke turning away from him to face the bookshelf and refocus on what she needed to do. Gajeel just stood there quietly, his red eyes following her movements as she began to quickly scan the shelves before her. Her small body stepping forward and her head looking back and forth until she finally pulled out a book. "Here, please take this." She ordered politely as she turned towards him offering the book. He looked at her and then the book in her hand and then suddenly snatched it away from her grumpily without a word. Levy just turned back towards the shelf and began her searching again completely unaffected by his attitude.

Gajeel looked down at the book he was holding in his hands with a studded brow raised. It was some kind of translation book from the looks of it. His eyes went back up to Levy's back just as she was pulling out another book she had found from the shelf. "This might help too…" She was saying quietly under her breath, but of course he could hear her. She turned towards him again and offered him the next book without a word this time. He took it skeptically suddenly realizing that the only help she needed was for someone to just carry all the books she picked out. It made him kind of want to roll his eyes, but he resisted and instead just shifted them up towards the ceiling as he thought to himself. He honestly couldn't blame her for it, because in reality there was no way the shrimp could carry them all alone without it taking up too much time.

The two of them carried on in a comfortable silence for about ten minutes as Levy pulled out books and handed them to Gajeel to carry. Before he knew it he was holding about six of them stacked up on top of each other in his arms as he followed her around in the tiny library. It was very quiet, the only sound was Levy's occasional mumbling as she thought to herself that was until she needed his help.

The small girl stopped and was glancing up at something on one of the higher up shelves. She stepped up as close as she could and began to stretch her body up so that she was standing on her toes one of her arms reaching up high, but just touching the edge of the shelf Gajeel imagined she was trying to reach to. She came back down on her feet after the failed attempt and Gajeel thought for sure she was going to ask him to get it after that, but that wasn't the case. Instead she stubbornly made a second attempt this time using the bottom shelf to give her about a half an inch more of height. Gajeel watched with a perplexed look as Levy tried to reach up again for the book on her toes, but this time her balance was even more put off by the lack of room she had on the edge of the shelf as she started to stumble on her own feet. Gajeel instinctively went towards her as if to catch her incase she was about to fall, but he couldn't really do much considering his hands were full. Luckily Levy caught herself, before she could fall down, but this didn't ease him at all, the whole thing actually pissed him off.

"What the hell are ya doin?!" He finally questioned her exasperated. Levy turned to him.

"What does it look like? I need that book." She answered. Gajeel's brow lowered.

"That's not what I mean and you know it." Levy just blinked at him confused and this made Gajeel shake his head and sigh. He could see she honestly didn't understand. There was a table just behind them so without another word he stepped up to it and set down the pile of books he was holding down then he walked back towards her and the shelf. His gloved hands rested on his sides as Levy just looked up to him with amazed eyes. "Yer gonna hurt yourself, idiot." He stated flatly.

"Excuse me?" Levy asked him in disbelief. Idiot? Really… he has no room to talk!

"Yer too small." He said sharply as he began to reach up towards the shelf Levy had been aiming at. Levy's mouth was hanging open at his words. He was so blunt about it… She knew it was true as did everyone, but to have someone just say it like that to her face. It had caught her off guard, she had no words to counter it or even pick an argument like she wanted to. "Now which one is it, exactly?" He suddenly questioned her, his red eyes scanning over the shelf and area she had been reaching towards. Levy looked to him, her anger with him easing as she realized he was helping her. She pointed up to the left of where his gloved hand hovered over the books.

"That red one…" She answered hesitantly. Gajeel pulled the book out and turned towards her presenting it to her to make sure it was correct. Levy just nodded at him and then without a second of hesitation he walked back towards the table and picked up the rest of the pile of books with the red one now on top. He turned back towards her silently and just gave her an expectant look. Levy quickly turned back towards the shelf at his look, her face red and her eyes downcast. She could feel the slight hint of those weird feelings again, the ones she was telling herself she didn't have. It made her feel awkward around him again, him being nice to her… well sort of nice at least… As nice as she could imagine Gajeel to be, which she didn't know if she liked it, if he was going to make her feel this way.

Her eyes began to go back to scanning over the lower shelves before her in an attempt to push the awkwardness out of her mind. She let her hands fall to her knees as she searched so that her head could be at a closer level to the book's titles What she wasn't aware of was that Gajeel was trying not to notice how she was now standing bent over like that. Which was made especially hard once she decided that right then would be the perfect time to start speaking to him to fill the now awkward silence.

"Gajeel?" Gajeel glanced over towards Levy, granting him a nice eyeful of her backside as she grabbed a book from the lower shelf.

"Uh…" He uttered quickly snapping his head away as he too all the sudden felt awkward. "Whatta ya want?" He snapped his face showing his discomfort. Levy stood back up straight and glanced at the book in her hands. Gajeel looked back at her now that she was standing. His eyes trailing down from her shoulders blades, following the curve of her back and the roundness that protruded out further down still.

"What was Natsu talking about when he mentioned the library?" She asked before turning towards him. He made sure he was looking back up, as he greeted her with a doubtful look.

"Salamander?" He questioned. "Nothin'. He's full of it." He answered trying to get her to drop the subject. He didn't need her finding out that he had seen her sleeping in the library that morning she had treated him in the infirmary. Levy blinked at him with a pause as he looked elsewhere. Her eyebrows pushed together as she suddenly realized he was lying to her. She didn't know how she could tell, maybe it was because of the small interaction she had had with him. Or maybe it was just; because he seemed terrible at it, either way she knew he was hiding something. He finally noticed her looking and couldn't help, but get defensive. "Oi! What ya starin' at me like that for?" He asked. Levy glanced down at the book she was holding and offered it to him.

"Do you like to read?" She asked him suddenly as got he close enough for her to add the book to the pile he was holding. Deciding it would be best to change the subject maybe or get her answer a different way.

"Why ya gonna tell me how great it is or somethin?" He questioned smugly earning a small smirk from Levy before she turned back away from him. Her hands rested on her hips as her head looked up at the higher shelves again.

"Well it's true I enjoy it." She responded.

"No… Really?" Gajeel responded mockingly, this time making Levy turn to him still with her sly smile.

"How would you know anyways?" She asked him rather arrogantly herself as she pointed at something on one of the higher shelves. For a second Levy thought she had gotten one over on him as Gajeel stayed quiet for a moment. He set the pile of books he was holding once again on the table before walking back towards her. Then he turned to her with a wicked grin.

"Yer not all that hard to figure out bookworm." He stated arrogantly as he reached up in the area Levy had pointed at. Although of course that wasn't exactly true considering Gajeel had literally spent all night trying to figure her out, but she didn't need to know that. Levy's face immediately flushed up at this comment her eyes going downcast in embarrassment. "This one?" He asked making her look back up. All Levy could do was nod as he grabbed it and handed it to her. She watched him for a moment as he started walking back towards his pile allowing her some time to recover. "How many these we need anyways?" He asked as he gathered the large pile back up in his tone arms. Levy's was still watching him when he turned back to face her his eyes settling on hers as he waited for her answer. Her cheeks were still holding some of their slight color as her eyes glided along the distinct muscles of his arms that protruded out as he held the massive pile of books.

"Oh… uh!" She said her head snapping away from him awkwardly. "Not sure…" She said looking at him cautiously with one eye. "Honestly we could use some more help."

It was almost as if some higher being suddenly heard Levy's request, because just as the words left her mouth Natsu's voice suddenly sounded from the library's doorway.

"What the hell you two doing in here? You're takin forever!" Gajeel and Levy looked up just in time to see Natsu step inside with a crossed brow and arms folded.

"Oh hey Natsu." Levy said.

"Oi, we're doin this is fast as we can so shut the hell up!" Gajeel shouted.

"Gajeel!" Levy snapped causing him to turn his sights on her. "We're in a library… don't yell." She scolded making his jaw drop at her nerve as she smiled slyly.

"Nobody is even here!" He responded annoyed. Making Natsu glance from one to the other at there back and forth. He looked puzzled by the whole exchange as if somehow there was a joke there that he didn't understand. Levy ignored Gajeel's frustration and turned towards Natsu again.

"Natsu, was Mira there to look after the Master and Bisca." Natsu just shook his head grimly.

"No… She took off after Elfman." He said folding his arms. "But she said she sent a message to Porlyusica."

"I can't blame her…" Levy replied. "She's probably worried sick about him. I know I am about Jet and Droy…" Levy added her voice drifting off. Gajeel's couldn't help, but glare at her at the mention of their names, but he at least stayed quiet.

"Yea well… hopefully that grumpy old hag will help us out." Natsu stated. "But until gramps is better it's up to us." Levy nodded at him.

"Actually Natsu would you mind carrying some books for me too. I think I'm going to need more than Gajeel and I can handle. It would be much faster." She stated. "I need to take them out towards where the runes are so I can decipher them." Natsu's eyes went wide as they shifted from Levy onto Gajeel who looked as if he were pouting.

"What's matter black steel? Your arms tired already?" he asked slyly.

"You better shut yer trap Salamander, because I can carry more than you can!" At this Natsu held a fist up.

"Oh yea? Ya think so? Wanta bet on it!" Natsu shouted.

"I don't need to bet, because I already know!" In reality Gajeel didn't have any money to bet with, but Salamander didn't need to know that.

"I'll show you!" Natsu finally announced as he jumped up to a taken aback Levy. "Levy! Give me as many books as you gave Gajeel! More even!" At this Levy just began to laugh nervously.

"Uh… yea sure guys. Let's just get this done…" She choked out; of course they had to make everything a competition.

After a short period of time Levy had managed to gather about all the books she thought she could possibly need to get the job done as well as a notebook from her bag. She had picked out twenty three books total with each dragon slayer carrying eleven and both of them insisting they could carry the last one which Levy had decided to hold onto herself to keep them from fighting over it. She insisted that they both just accept that it was a tie and that they better be careful with the piles they were holding, being sure not to let them spill onto the floor. She found a spot near by the entrance of the guild doorway where she could work on the floor. She had the two of them set the books down and then she immediately got to work pulling out her gale force reading glasses to get the job done faster.

Natsu and Gajeel both sat there for a moment watching her as Levy put on her red glasses. She looked towards the doorway for a moment, making sure to get a good look at the runes on the invisible wall that explained the rules of the enchantment. The symbols she had seen looked somewhat familiar to her. She had seen some of them before in her research. She started tearing down the two piles of books and spreading them around her, her hands occasionally grabbing one and opening it up to certain page before putting it aside still open.

Natsu was quickly becoming bored, his anxiety building once again. Watching Levy work didn't ease any of his troubles, if anything it just made him more impatient, because it seemed like such a slow job, anything involving that many books had to be. He stood up abruptly and stalked off a bit haughtily, as if he just couldn't bear to be still. Gajeel still sat in place his red eyes following the Salamander's movements until he got up in front of the doorway to resume his pacing.

Gajeel was quite the opposite of Natsu, he was calm and he couldn't help, but be curious as to what Levy was going to do. She had already made a mess around herself as she worked resting over a book on her elbows and knees. The iron dragon slayer had actually decided to kill time by sitting down beside her as she worked so that he could watch as she used a pen quill to start writing out some odd symbols and words in her notebook. He watched in deep fascination as she looked from one book to another, then to her paper, then to the wall and then to her paper again. She looked deep in thought as she did this, but it didn't keep her from speaking out loud to herself on occasion as she thought.

"Hmm… If I break down the loge letter sequence data into component blocks and then pinpoint the terms that make up the rules… I get L… O, S, U…" Gajeel leaned forward slightly as she said this as he could see and hear her pen scratching the paper before her. Was she trying to make words somehow? He didn't know, because he didn't understand how enchantments worked. He did know one thing though it all seemed very complex and he couldn't help, but be impressed by Levy's knowledge on them as she continued to mutter to herself. "Okay… now if I convert that into geel grammar." She continued making Gajeel glance up at her and then back at what she was writing. At that moment she seemed like a brain. He had already known she was smart and clever, but this was way beyond even what he had suspected.

"Wow… yer really something else." He found himself suddenly saying out loud. Levy just continued to write, as Gajeel spoke not allowing him to break her concentration. He was kind of surprised at himself for even saying it like that on a whim, but her lack of attention had made it even less intimidating and so he continued. "We speak the same language, but I don't have a clue what yer sayin'." At this Levy suddenly got a realization as her eyes stared at the symbols and letters she had written down on the paper before her. She quickly glanced up and turned her head so that she could stare into Gajeel with wide eyes.

"Wait hold on!" Gajeel glanced up at her confused and surprised by her sudden reaction, but he kept his mouth shut. "The L and S are nothing, but bluffs!" She stated with realization as she pointed at Gajeel as if it were an accusation. "That means the key code must be 'arth'." She added her voice sounding high with the epiphany. Gajeel just stared at her for a moment with both amazed and confused eyes.

"Uhh…." He stuttered not knowing what else to say. "Sure thing." He finally managed to get out having no idea whether she was right or wrong or even any clue of what she was talking about. It was all so over his head and it made him feel rather stupid and yet it still amazed him as well. She turned away from him and looked back to her paper. She immediately started scribbling some more words and symbols.

"I'm almost there…" She said firmly. "Don't worry." She added as she pushed some of the blue hair that was falling in her way back behind her ear as she continued to write with her right hand. "I promise I'll get you guys out of here." She finished. Gajeel glanced up and away from her at this… He didn't want her to think he cared one way or another.

"It's no big deal to me." He stated calmly.

"Well it is to me." Levy replied simply earning a glance from Gajeel. She stopped her writing for a moment so that she could turn and look at him once again. She gave him a determined glance one unlike any of the other's he had seen yet before. "You have to stop Laxus." She stated firmly as if planting it in his head that she knew he could. That she was putting her faith into him to help save them all, they both sat their for a moment staring intensely at one another until suddenly and odd sound pulled their attention. They both glanced at the doorway of the guild where Natsu stood. He was once again pounding his forehead against the runic wall, causing the red glow of runes and the strange sparks of electricity to erupt from each impact.

"Let me out…" Natsu was growling fiercely under his breath as his forehead and hands pushed against the magical wall.

Levy looked from Natsu back to Gajeel who glanced back up at her. She immediately turned back to her work without another word. Time was not on their side so she needed to work fast and Gajeel just sat there and watched in silence deciding he would try not to interrupt her anymore. They both could feel the weight and direness of their situation suddenly falling over their shoulders as Natsu continued to pound on that runic wall that was keeping the dragon slayers caged inside.

Okay so what did you guys think? Please review and let me know. Also want you to know I did go back and improve onthe last chapter a lot since I wasn't happy with it. The next one Levy will have finally gotten our boys out!

Thank you guys so much for reading my story, following it and adding it to your favs list! I want you all to know that I am currently over 200 pages now with 128, 141 words! I never imagined I would write that much, but to do so means that maybe one day I really will be able to write a novel. Not only that, but Iron Gray still has quite a ways to go! So expect more, but I don't think I could have gotten this far without the readers continued to support so I thank you all once again! I hope you will all stick with me to through the end.

WolfWoman96: You were most definitely right about Levy and runes! I'm glad you are excited and thank you for continuing to read and review my chapters!

Buzzkilltitan: Wow, it is hard to even come up with a reply to that review, because it left me speechless. I guess I'll start with saying thank you and I'm so pleased to hear how much you are enjoying the fic thus far! Everything you said about the in-depth look behind both Gajeel and Levy's personalities/feelings both separately and together excited me so much, because that's the whole point behind this story! I always worry that people don't see what I'm trying to get across and it is relieving to hear that some people understand that and that they appreciate it! I feel like these two have so much going on with them and it is just so interesting, that's why I just wanted delve into it for myself. Nothing is black and white with them, they are so three dimensional as are all the characters in Fairy Tail. Also I thank you for your great metaphor, it makes me think that perhaps you enjoy/are a writer as well. In saying that it means I regard your opinion highly, not only for that reason, but also because your deeper understanding of the point of the story as mentioned. I hope you shall continue to read and thanks again for your marvelous review!

AndreaRei: I'm glad that you didn't find it boring and that you see that! Anyways hope you will enjoy this one as well. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
