A loud, beeping alarm wakes me up in the morning. The sun isn't even up yet. A warm arm is slung around my waist, and I can feel Jacob's hot breath on the back of my neck. I look over at the alarm clock and slam my hand down on it. I flip over, placing a hand on Jacob's cheek before leaning forward and placing a soft kiss on his lips.
Jacob kisses back softly before slowly opening his eyes and pulling away. "It's time, isn't it?" He asks.
Today's the day. I never thought I would ever have to defend my sister and I's lives against supernatural beings. I guess there's a first for everything.
We get out of bed slowly, exchanging quick kisses and embraces in between getting ready. I wear a simple outfit that Jacob had brought here and put my hair up in a high ponytail. We walk out of the door and lock it behind us right at 4:30 AM. We have to be at the Cullens' in 30 minutes, and I intend on spending every second that I can with Jacob.
Our run to the house is slow as we sprint next to each other. Within around 2 miles to the house, where I know that no vampire will hear us, I stop and look at Jacob. He stops beside me as I go behind a tree and change, putting clothes on. I come out from behind the tree and see him already waiting.
I walk to him, immediately putting my arms around him in a tight hug with my head in his shoulder. His arms go around my shoulders, keeping my close to him. "Jacob," I say. "I'm scared."
"I will never, ever let anything happen to you. Those bloodsuckers won't even get near you. I wish I could say everything will be alright, but I have no clue. All I know is that you're my world. I'm going to protect you with everything that I am."
I pull away, grabbing his hands at his sides. "I love you." I say to him.
"I love you, too, Elle." Jacob responds. After that, a smile falls onto my lips as we continue walking to the Cullen house in perfect silence, just enjoying each other's company.
We get there in no time, and we walk in the front door, seeing most of the Cullen family gathered around in the living room. They notice us walk in as Bella and her leech walk downstairs. The mood is somewhat somber. We all know what could happen, and we've all accepted it.
"Are we all ready?" Carlisle asks. I'm not sure if he means for the battle or just for the journey there.
"As ready as we'll ever be," voices Jacob. We leave together not soon after with Edward leading the way there. It's farther than I imagined, which is better in my mind. There will be less of a chance of this getting back to Forks or La Push. With me carrying Jacob and I's clothes and him carrying anything else we might need, we won't need to come back to Forks or La Push for anything else.
It takes only about two hours until we enter a clearing where the Cullens slow. "This is it," Alice speaks. I grunt in acknowledgment.
"What's the plan?" I ask in my head, knowing Edward will be able to hear me.
"Ellie, you're going to have to let Bella ride on you as we go up the mountain. Just as a precaution. Hopefully they won't be able to smell her." I nod to him, showing understanding. "We'll set up a couple of tents for Jacob, Ellie, Bella, and I. This should give everyone plenty of time to hunt and prepare." Edward stops what he says and glaces at Alice. "Any updates, Alice?"
Her eyes glaze over for half a second before she shakes her head. "No, not that I can see."
Edward looks back towards Jacob and I. "Do you guys mind relaying the message to the pack?"
"No, not at all." I tell him. I don't necessarily like taking orders from bloodsuckers, but we have to work together for the next 24 hours or so.
"Alright, let's get this show on the road," Bella says, walking over to me. I lay down on my stomach as she climbs over me. She yanks some of my fur, making me let out a yelp. Jacob lets out a low growl and I feel his anger spike through our link. "Whoops."
I intentionally stand shakily before taking off after Edward to the spot at the top of the mountain. By the time we get up there and she climbs off, almost all of my patience is gone. The whole time she had a choke hold on me and was tugging on my fur. How is she such a terrible person? It just astounds me. This thought causes a glare from Eddy as he puts his stone cold arm around her stonier and colder shoulder, and if I were in my human form, I would either be flipping him off or sticking my tongue out at him.
I find a spot about a minute run away from Bella and Edward for Jacob and I and lay down, opening up the mind link to the rest of the pack, interrupting whatever conversation was going on before I joined. It's getting easier to block them out.
"Hey, guys, try to get here before the sun rises tomorrow morning. Be careful, and be ready to fight." I tell them. I flash them the memory of how we got here and the spot I'm at now, and all of them seem to understand. Jacob joins me at our spot soon enough.
The day goes by faster than I would've imagined. Jacob and I stay at our site for the majority of the day, besides checking with Edward to see if anything has changed. No news so far. The sun is now out of the sky, and Jacob and I have our tent set up. Even with the wind roaring outside of the tent and snow spreading everywhere, we don't get cold.
Nerves are being shared between us through our bond, and sometime after we decide to sleep, Jacob turns over to face me. "Babe, sit up real fast." Giving him a questioning look, I sit on my knees facing away from him. Sleep probably won't happen for us, so I'm willing to cure my slight boredom.
5 seconds pass by until I feel his warm hands on my shoulders through my shirt. Jacob's thumbs press down on my shoulder blades with just the right amount of pressure. I hear him let out a low whistle. "Wow, Elle, you're so tense. Why didn't you say anything before?"
My head leans forward slightly and a small groan comes out of my lips. Jacob lifts up the back of my shirt as he moves his hands across my bare skin. Our connection makes our skin against each other feel even more amazing. His lips pepper across my spine and a shaky breath comes out of my mouth. His lips slowly make their way up to my neck where they find that spot that drives me crazy. With both of our adrenaline going from the nerves, our hormones are a tad out of whack.
I spin around to face him and rip off my shirt incredibly fast, pressing my torso against his completely bare one and connecting our lips together. Jacob's arms encase me against him as a growl comes out of his mouth. The sound goes right to my core, and memories of last night rush through my head. My breath becomes heavier and faster as his tongue tangles with mine. My lips have a mind of their own as they trail along his jaw, nipping at it. His thumb traces the bottom of my sports bra, and I'm so close to ripping it off just to feel more of our skin pressed together. Jacob grabs the side of my face and smashes our lips together with another groan. My arms reach under his and grip his back as I come up for air, gasping his name, which is the only one I can remember at this point.
Jacob's lips trail down my neck and go to my shoulder, sucking harshly, drawing another moan from me. My legs go around his waist on the ground and I allow my hips to drag up against his, forcing groans out of both of us. My nails trace his abdomen, feeling every ab and muscle he has. "Mine." I growl in my head, without even meaning to.
However, before we can get anywhere else, a high pitched screech pierces the air that yanks us apart.
"JACOB!"
"Are you fucking kidding me?" I groan, leaning my forehead on his bare shoulder in frustration. "What the hell does she want?"
"I'M COLD!"
Jacob starts to stand, my legs still wrapped around his waist, and he leaves the tent. Even without my shirt on, I'm not cold. Being a werewolf is pretty great at this time. "Let's just go see what's going on." He says. I drop my legs and stand on the ground.
We get to Edward and Bella's campsite in no time, and start to hear the teeth chattering from a minute away. Jacob unzips the tent to see Bella huddled up in a sleeping bag, shivering from the cold.
"Jacob, you're finally here. Come over here and keep me warm." My sister gestures for him to go behind her. "I'm so cold, you'll just probably have to keep your shirt off for the body heat."
My boyfriend looks back at me with a "What the hell?" look. I grab his arm and push him back. "Bella, he's not going to spoon you until you get warm. I'm sick of you coming on to him and always flirting with him. Sorry to burst your damn bubble, but he is my boyfriend. Jacob. Is. Mine. So hop off his dick already and try your own boyfriend's on for size." Her eyes widen and her mouth drops like she's just seen a ghost. I look over at Eddy. "And you. Grow a pair already!" With that, I grab Jacob's hand and make our way back to the tent before my anger rises anymore and I'm forced to shift.
Halfway through the walk back, Jacob looks over at me. He stares for a second before leaning forward to whisper in my ear. "That was really hot." A small graces my lips. I had no trouble getting to sleep after that.
-TSE-
Morning comes within the blink of an eye. The sunlight shines through the tent, and I'm surprised the Cullens let us sleep in so late. Jacob's warmth around me calms me down slightly as I hear his soft snores coming from behind me. I lift his arm around my waist ever so gently, and slip out the tent with him still sleeping soundly.
I shift into my wolf and open up the pack link. Everyone is here already in the clearing. I race over to Edward and Bella's campsite, immediately spotting Edward overlooking the mountain. "Anything?" I ask, coming up beside him.
Edward replies, "It'll be another hour or so." A shiver runs down my spine. He turns wordlessly, probably still upset about last night, and makes his way back to his tent. I lay down on the snow, listening to the pack link. Sam is going through all of the training we'd gone over with the rest of the pack.
After a few minutes, I feel Jacob wake up through our link. "I'm by Edward and Bella's camp." I tell him, knowing he'd freak out if I didn't let him know where I was. I go behind a tree and get dressed with the clothes I'd carried here in my mouth. Jacob joins me back where I was, fully dressed and human.
His arms go around my waist as I lean back against him, allowing my head to rest on his shoulder. "It's going to be okay." Jacob tells me. I grab his arms around me and nod. "I won't let anyone or anything on this Earth hurt you or even come near you."
He presses a lingering kiss on my temple, but our moment is quickly interrupted as Edward flashes over to us. "They're almost here." Dread fills us as Jacob and I look at each other. This is it. The battle is beginning.
