"I hate doing paperwork and I don't see why I have to do it just because you're too lazy to do so!" Ed screamed at Roy with tight fisted hands.

Roy narrowed his eyes at Ed. "I am not in the mood for this right now, FullMetal. Go cry to someone else." He said.

Edward slammed his fists onto Roy's desk, shaking the piles of papers on it. Ed stared him in the eyes. "Stop being such a lazy Bastard and maybe I wouldn't complain so much." He hissed, just inches away from Roy's face.

Roy scowled. "You had better back off right now or you will regret it, FullMetal." He warned, standing up from his chair and resting his hands on the desk.

Ed smiled. "Or what?" He asked.

Roy gritted his teeth. "Or I will strip you of your rank and kick you from the Military." He snarled.

Ed's eyes widened briefly then narrowed. "You wouldn't." He said.

Roy leaned in. "Try me." He said.

Ed glared at him and backed away from him. "You're a selfish asshole, you know that?" He said, folding his arms tightly.

Roy rolled his eyes. "What the hell do you even have to complain about?" He asked in annoyance.

"You always shuffle things you don't want to do onto me. I don't want your trash, Mustang." Ed spat with venom. "Take out your own shit." He said.

Roy clenched his fists and walked around his desk. "You had better shut your mouth, you little brat." He warned.

Ed shook his head. "What are you gonna do, Mustang? Huh? Burn me, like you did to people in Ishval?" He said with a smirk.

Roy got up in his face. "You do not talk about that!" He threatened, shoving his pointed finger at Ed.

Ed could tell he had struck a nerve and he smiled. "Oh did that bother you?" He asked. "Truth hurts." He stated.

Roy smiled and stepped away, he started pacing the room. "You actually have the nerve to say that after what you did?" He laughed.

Ed's smile dwindled away. "What do you mean?" He asked.

Roy stared at him. "You come in here complaining and have to guts to bring up Ishval? Well I got news for you, buddy. You are just as guilty as I am. You killed your own mother and mutilated your brother, and for what?"

Ed glared at him. "Don't you ever speak of my mother! You asshole!" He yelled, clenching his fists.

Roy shook his head. "No, apparently you are too blind to see things. You can't bring up someone elses past without them grabbing skeletons from your closet as well." He said.

"Yeah, well at least I didn't Burn people Alive." Ed said slowly. "You Murdered children." He said.

Roy walked up to him with rage boiling in his eyes. "Yeah, and I may just do so again considering there's a Child standing in front of me!" He snapped.

Ed's eyes narrowed. "You are a murderer." He spat.

Roy wasn't sure exactly what he did at first until the loud sound of a slap echoed through the office.

Ed's head was turned and he stared wide eyed at the wall. He slowly brought his hand up to gingerly touch his cheek.

All of Roy's anger washed away. "Shit, Edward I'm so sorry." He held up his hand and reached for him, which Ed smacked away.

Ed shook his head. "You are a heartless Bastard. Do your own work from now on and only talk to me when there's a mission. Got it?" He snarled.

"Please Ed, let me make this up to you. I didn't mean it!" Roy begged.

Ed pushed past him and walked out the door, slamming it behind him.

"Shit!" Roy yelled, kicking a trash bin and spilling its contents on the floor. He scowled at a piece of paper that rolled out and he picked it up.

He smoothed it out and started reading.

"Happy Father's day, I know it's a bit late but I wanted to at least say it.
You've been pretty good to me over the years and I wanted to thank you for that. Although, I am getting tried of picking up your slack.
Anyways, hope you liked this card somewhat. Ed."

Roy's eyes widened and he laid the card onto his table and smacked himself in the forehead. "Shit, what have I done?" He cursed himself and ran out the door.

Roy jogged outside into the rain that had started to fall in heaver drops and he felt like even the heavens were mad at him.

Roy cupped his hands around his mouth. "Edward! Where are you?" He called.

Roy looked around wildly until a red figure caught his eye.

Ed was curled up against a tree fiddling with his coat tails when Roy walked up to him.

"I'm sorry." Roy said, knelling down next to him. "I found your card. I'm sorry I've been putting so much work on your lately." He said.

Ed glanced up at him then looked back at the ground.

"I've just been overworked and I know that's no excuse but I just want you to understand. You should've told me you were getting overwhelmed too. I would have stopped having you help me with my papers." He said.

Edward didn't reply. He just sat there with his dripping hair in his face, concealing his emotions from Roy.

"Come on, Ed. I said I was sorry." Roy said once more, reaching out and moving Ed's damp hair out of his eyes.

Edward sniffed and looked up at him with red puffy eyes. "I'm sorry too. I've just been stressed out and I think you are too. We just took it out on each other." He said, a sob hitched in his throat.

Roy smiled and pulled him into a hug. "It's okay. Don't feel too bad about it, even father's and son's get into fights sometimes. It doesn't change how they feel about each other though." He hugged him tighter.

Ed nodded into Roy's coat and sniffed. "You've been a better father to me than my own father has. Thank you, Roy. For everything." He cried into Roy's shoulder.

Roy smirked and rested a hand on top of Ed's head. "No, thank you for making my life better." He said.
