A/N: For the poetry bootcamp competition, prompt #023: teardrop. And Percy.
Tears of No Accomplishment
He hadn't cried for a long time
but he was crying now
without refrain
For all the times he should
have shed his tears but hadn't,
for all the mistakes he had made
And what he had cost
and regretted
and tried
and taken too long to overcome.
The spell escaped his wand too late;
his brother was already dead
and dotted by the tears of
ever family member by his side
And somehow, they were all there,
at that moment –
even his future brother and sister-in-law…
Finally, they were a family
and he was crying
because, already, it was over
and one was gone.
