Perpetuating Mistakes
(A moment missing from "Sozin's Comet Part 2: The Old Masters". Inspired by a conversation with the amazing and awesome Emletish!)
While the youngsters settled into their camp, Piandao pulled Pakku aside and gave him a hard frown. "You're making a mistake, so obviously favoring Katara over Sokka."
Pakku gave him a sharp look in return. "And what business is it of yours?"
Then he remembered what Jeong Jeong had let slip once about Piandao's childhood, while drinking together after a White Lotus meeting years ago. The world's greatest swordsman and lord of Shu Jing had been rejected by his bending parents, put out for adoption, for being a non-bender.
Pakku looked away, muttering, "All right, I'll let him call me Gran-Pakku…"
