Chapter 37: Trouble in the hospital
A/N: Enjoy! Last time, Arcus and the group had traveled through a canyon where they did some unexpected things. Arcus and Ash were brought down to the center of the Earth with Team Rocket after Pikachu 'accidentally' used Thunderbolt on the dynamite. Arcus had befriended the sleepy prehistoric Pokemon and he had fought an Aerodactyl. Now, Ash has a Pokemon egg in his possession and Brock and Misty are fighting with him over its. I do not own Pokemon but I own my OC and this story. Reminder: Arcus telepathically talks to his Pokemons during battles. Names of characters: Arcus, Mega Absol(Angel), Combusken(Torch), Marshtomp(Kippy), Meowth(Ace), Servine(Lily), Kabuto(Shelly), Spearow(Spear), Ekans(Venom), Espeon(Jewel), Mew(Ella), Vaporeon(Aqua). Angel is permanently a Mega Absol.
After setting up camp for the night at a nearby meadow, Brock had immediately started cooking dinner.
When Brock was done, Ash and Misty quickly gathered near the campfire as Brock served them their dishes of Brock's 'camp out dinner'. Arcus headed for the fire and said,"Brock, the fire's not going to last a minute if it's in this condition."
Arcus then used his Overheat on the campfire and it soon grew bigger and the heat was getting warmer. Arcus smiled and said,"This should be enough. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be heading back to sleep."
Ash then stopped him and asked,"Arcus, don't you wanna try some of Brock's cooking? You haven't even tried one of his cooking yet." Arcus sighed and replied,"Alright. I'll try some just this once." As Arcus took a spoonful of the food, Brock asked,"How is it?"
Arcus replied,"It's okay. It's just not my kind of flavor. Not to offend you, Brock, but I've tasted better food made by my dad." Brock nodded and said,"That's alright. I just want to know what you think of it."
Putting down the plate, Arcus got up and walked over to a fallen tree and he fell asleep on it.
Back on his planet later, Arcus woke up and he was greeted by the happy faces of Silver, Ace and Shelly.
Smiling Arcus asked,"What's the occasion this time?" Ace replied,"Ho-Oh wants to see you. He said that it was important that he needs to see you now. I bet it's something special." Arcus chuckled as he got up from his seat and he flew out of the fortress.
Once he reached the ground, he looked up and saw Ho-Oh perching himself on top of one of the mountains.
Arcus quickly flew up towards the mountain that Ho-Oh was on and when he reached him, Arcus asked,"You wanted to see me?" Ho-Oh nodded and replied,"Arcus, how do you describe yourself?" Arcus thought for a moment before saying,"I'm not sure. The girls usually say that I am sweet, kind and caring."
Ho-Oh turned and said,"Then maybe you are also the perfect mate of Moltres!" Arcus tilted his head in confusion and Ho-Oh continued,"Moltres is known to be a sweet girl. She is caring for Fire type Pokemon and she had always been waiting for a mate that is sweet, kind and caring. Just like you." Arcus asked,"So are you saying that I'm a perfect candidate for being Moltres's mate?"
Nodding, Ho-Oh said,"Moltres is also known to be a patient girl. That's why she has been quite lonely all these years. So you don't have to worry about finding her immediately. If I say so, once she sees that you have her wings as well, I bet that she will be in love with you as well."
Arcus said,"Ho-Oh, how about I find her after the Pokemon League? It's only a few months of waiting and then Ill find her." Ho-Oh shook his head and said,"Now that you've mentioned it, it should only take at least a few weeks for you to reach her territory. I bet that when you're done, you can still have time to train for the Pokemon League."
Sighing, Arcus said,"Fine. I'll find her. But after I spend one more day with my friends on Earth." Ho-Oh nodded and said,"But when night falls, you should come back here and then I'll give you the location of Moltres's territory." Arcus nodded as he flew back to his fortress.
Once back, Arcus saw Lucy standing there.
Lucy asked,"Arcus, I heard that you will be finding Moltres. What for?" Arcus replied,"Ho-Oh thinks that I am the perfect mate for Moltres and he wants me to go find her tomorrow." Lucy squealed and exclaimed,"So does that mean I'll have Moltres as my big sister too?!" Arcus chuckled and said,"Maybe..."
Arcus soon entered the vortex.
Back on Earth again, Arcus woke up and he saw that the others were already up as well.
Misty smiled and said,"Good morning, Arcus. Looks like we beat you at waking up this time." Arcus sighed and said,"I'm not in the mood right now." Ash asked,"What's the matter? Usually, you're cheerful and now, you're sad." Arcus replied,"It's just that..."
Brock asked,"It's just that what?" Arcus groaned and said,"It's just that I have to leave you guys again tonight." Ash asked,"Why?" Arcus replied,"A friend of my dad wants me to go somewhere and he told me to go immediately but I managed to ask him to give me this one day to be with you guys. Once night falls, I will be gone for a few weeks."
Ash Exclaimed,"A few weeks?! Where are you going?" Arcus replied,"Moltres's territory..." The group gasped and Misty exclaimed,"Moltres's territory?! Are you serious?" Arcus nodded and said,"My dad's friend thinks that I may be a suitable mate for Moltres since she has always been lonely and I agreed to find her." Brock said,"Wow. Can you imagine a mate like Moltres? I wonder how you'll get her."
Arcus sighed and said,"That's what I am worried about. I know that Moltres loves guys that has the same characteristics like me but I'm not confident about the outcome. I've seen pictures of her and all I can say is that she is quite stunning and beautiful. I just wish I can win her heart."
Misty petted his back and said,"I'm sure you will. I've seen how you act around your other mates and what I predict is that Moltres is going to love you!" Arcus smiled and said,"Thanks Misty. Your help is enough. I'll just have to stay positive throughout that time and I'm sure that I'll win her heart." Ash nodded and said,"Now that's the Arcus we know!"
Ash then asked,"Where are we heading anyway?" Brock replied,"There's a city up ahead. Maybe there's a Pokemon Center there too." Ash cheered and said,"I can't wait! Food, here I come!"
Once they had reached the city, instead of finding a Pokemon Center like they had planned, they decided to take a break in the park.
They decided to take a seat on a bench as Pikachu climbed up the apple tree behind them. Arcus sighed as he was about to take a nap, he heard a thumping sound behind him.
Arcus quickly got up and he saw that Pikachu was lying on the ground and he had fainted. He quickly woke Brock and Misty up and said,"Guys, Pikachu's not feeling alright. Wake Ash up. I'll try and see what's the problem with Pikachu." Brock and Misty both nodded as Arcus ran towards Pikachu.
He picked up the Electric Mouse Pokemon and exclaimed,"Pikachu, what's wrong?!" Pikachu slowly opened his eyes and he weakly said,"I'm not sure. All I remember is that I ate an apple."
Arcus brought Pikachu back to Ash and he said,"Guys, there's something wrong with Pikachu's voice. We need to find a Pokemon Center quick!" Brock nodded and said,"Arcus, we'll carry Pikachu. Why don't you fly up and see if there's a Pokemon Center or a hospital nearby." Arcus nodded as he flew up into the air.
In the air, Arcus looked around the area and what he discovered shocked him. The Pokemon center was way to far! But luckily, there was a hospital nearby. He quickly flew back down and said,"The Pokemon Center is too far away but there is a hospital nearby." Brock nodded and said,"We better get Pikachu to that hospital, quick!"
The group quickly followed Arcus as he guided them to the hospital.
When they finally reached the hospital, they saw that the front door had a sign saying 'closed'.
Arcus groaned and said,"Great! Our only hope of saving Pikachu is not even open." Ash started banging on the door as he exclaimed,"Open the door! We have an emergency!"
Fortunately, the door opened up and a man in a doctor's uniform appeared as he said,"I was just getting to sleep." Ash said,"This is an emergency. Please help us." The doctor just stared at them and Misty pleaded,"Please help, doctor!"
As the doctor stared into Misty's eyes for a while, he smiled and said,"Well how can I turn down such a pretty face. Come on in."
Once the group entered the hospital, there wasn't anyone at all. Brock asked,"Where is everyone?" The doctor replied,"They're all having their vacation. I was selected to remain here but since no one had come, I assumed that not much accident was occurring so I decided to take a sleep and that's when you kids come."
Soon, they reached the examination room and the doctor placed Misty on a table and he asked,"Alright. What seems to be your problem, little lady?" Misty laughed nervously as she said,"I'm not the one who's sick."
Ash soon brought Pikachu to the table and the doctor exclaimed,"This is a hospital meant for people! Why don't you take your Pokemon to Joy at the Pokemon Center?" Ash replied,"It's too far to the Pokemon Center. We might not make it. Please, you have to look at Pikachu." The doctor said,"I'm sorry. But I'm a specialist in human medicine."
Misty said,"Please, just take a look." The doctor sighed and said,"I've just been never able to refuse request from young girls. Okay! It's not my specialty but Dr. Proctor will do his best to help!"
He turned on the lights and he began to examine Pikachu's pulse. After hearing it, he said,"There's something stuck in its throat." he then began to measure the electricity of Pikachu's electric sacs and said,"The electric pressure in its body is rather low. We'll have to give it an electric charge."
Brock said,"Arcus, you and Angel can use both your Thunder attack. That might be enough." Arcus nodded as he called out Angel.
Angel gave a yawn before Arcus said,"Angel, we need your help. Pikachu needs electricity" Angel nodded as the two began charging up their energy. Dr. Proctor said,"Pikachu needs about ten thousand volts. You think you can do it?" Arcus and Angel nodded as they released their energy onto Pikachu.
Soon, Pikachu woke up from his unconsciousness and Dr. Proctor said,"Alright Pikachu, say ah." As Pikachu opened his mouth, Dr. Proctor said,"I see it. You'll have to hold Pikachu still." Arcus nodded as he grabbed onto Pikachu while the doctor inserted his hand into Pikachu's mouth.
Unexpectedly, Pikachu released a Thunderbolt attack that electrocuted the doctor but Arcus didn't felt a thing. As Dr. Proctor fell, he held an apple in his hand. Arcus said,"So you ate that apple whole, didn't you?" Pikachu nodded as he hugged Ash.
Dr. Proctor said,"If you had waited any longer, serious respiratory complication would have risen. You were just in time. But I have to say, it was very irresponsible of you as a trainer to let your Pikachu eat this thing whole." Ash protested,"I didn't let him do it!" Dr. Proctor continued,"In any case, treatment's over so go on home."
As he left, Brock said,"Well he may have a soft spot for Misty, but he sure seems pretty hard on you, Ash." Misty smirked and said,"Well, he's not the only one who has a soft spot for pretty girls, isn't he?" Brock then blushed in embarrassment and Arcus said,"Thanks for your help, Angel. You were great." Angel smiled and they headed out.
Once they were in the lobby, the computer started ringing and Misty said,"Um...Your phone is ringing." Dr. Proctor replied,"I'm not going to answer it. I'm off duty." Ash asked,"But what if it ia an emergency. Like with Pikachu?"
The group then answered the call and it was Nurse Joy.
Upon seeing the group, Nurse Joy said,"Who are you? This is suppose to be an emergency hospital!" Dr. Proctor replied,"Give me a break. I'm off duty." Nurse Joy exclaimed,"Doctor! This is a critical situation! A truck that was carrying Pokemon was involved in a traffic accident. Many Pokemon were injured and my Pokemon Center can't handle all the victims! We need your hospital to help care for some of these patients temporarily."
Dr. Proctor said,"Okay. Bring them to the hospital. By the way, Nurse Joy, would you be interested in going out for pizza on Saturday night?" Nurse Joy huffed and said,"You can talk to me about pizza after our work is done!" The screen then went blank and Dr. Proctor said,"Well, can't blame a guy for trying."
Brock said,"I don't like this guy. He sounds like me!" Misty said,"That is disturbing."
The doctor soon came back with three hospital uniforms for Brock, Ash and Misty and said,"Alright kids, you better put these on. We don't have enough doctors and nurses since they're all on vacation and so it's up to you three to help me out." The three nodded as they put on the uniforms. Arcus then called out the girls and said,"Girls, we're going to have our first emergency situation. We need to treat injured Pokemon that were involved in a traffic accident."
As the girls nodded, Lily said,"Looks like we are going to have to be extra nice to those little ones too." Arcus nodded and said,"I'm sure you girls can do it. You are all the best ones I had. I'm sure you'll do fine."
Sirens were soon heard and later on, a Cubone in a stretcher was the first to come in with two Chansey wheeling it across the hospital.
Arcus said,"Guys, let's follow them." Ash nodded and said,"Dr. Proctor might need our help."
Inside the examination room, Dr. Proctor said,"Ash, Brock, Misty, move Cubone to the treatment table."
The three lifted Cubone onto the table and it started crying loudly. Dr. Proctor said,"You've got to keep it under control." Arcus said,"Lily, Vine Whip." Lily nodded as she gently wrapped her vines around Cubone and it stopped its crying.
Dr. Proctor said,"Now that's what I call under control." Arcus growled and said,"That's not what's happening." In reality, the Cubone stopped its crying because it was gazing with admiration at Lily. Arcus clenched his fist and said,"You better get this done now or I'm gonna whack that Cubone!"
Luckily, Angel, Jewel and Aqua managed to restrain him by nuzzling him.
A Chansey soon came in with a X-ray photo of Cubone. As Dr. Proctor examined it, he said,"Its head is okay thanks to that thick skull. Repair the fractures with super glue and apply a bandage." Misty said,"I can do that for you, doctor."
As Misty carried the Cubone, Lily walked over to Arcus and said,"Sorry about that. You told me to hold it down." Arcus sighed and said,"It's alright. I just hate to see any other males looking at any of you like that. It drives me mad." Lily smiled as she kissed him and said,"But you know that you are our mate, remember?" Arcus nodded and Dr. Proctor said,"Ash, tell that Pokemon friend of yours that he and the other Pokemon will need to help other patients." Ash nodded and said,"Arcus, Dr. Proctor needs you and the girls to help with the other patients." Arcus nodded and they left the room.
Once they were out, Arcus and the girls headed for the first room they saw.
When they entered the room, they wished that they had not. Inside the room were Jessie and James with their Arbok glaring at a Raticate.
Jessie exclaimed,"Someone please remove this Raticate! It insist on trying to take a bite out of our Arbok!" Arcus sighed and said,"Jewel, Lily, you think you can handle the two?" The girls nodded as they went over to the two Pokemon.
As soon as Jessie saw Arcus, she exclaimed,"It's the talking Pokemon that hangs out with the twerps!" Arcus folded his arms and asked,"Jessie, do you want my Pokemon to get rid of that Raticate for you?" She nodded and Arcus said,"Then I suggest you keep your mouth shut or I'll report this behavior to your Vice-President." The two shivered and Jessie exclaimed,"You're lying! How can you know about the Vice-President?!" Arcus smirked and said,"You can say that we're...close."
Jewel was soon comforting the Raticate while Lily was comforting Arbok. At first, it was going fine but then, anger boiled within Arcus as he saw Arbok's eyes turning to hearts after Lily had petted him while Raticate was blushing every time Jewel had smiled at it.
Dr. Proctor came in and said,"This Raticate's teeth are broken. Chansey, go use super glue to glue its teeth back in." Chansey nodded as she carried the Raticate away.
Jessie asked,"Who are you?" The doctor replied,"I am Dr. Proctor. How 'bout a pizza with me after I finish treating these Pokemon?" Jessie replied,"We'll talk more over the pepperoni but right now, you just got to help my Arbok." Dr. Proctor said,"That Pokemon is already helping your Arbok."
As Lily placed her hand on Arbok's tangled up tail, she smiled at him, making him blush as she started untangling it. Once she was done, Arbok coiled himself around her and he hugged her, much to Arcus's annoyance. Arcus then used Psychic and he uncoiled Arbok and tossed him over to Jessie, saying,"Your Arbok is untangled. Now if you'll excuse me, I have more patients to help attend to."
Arcus and the girls soon headed over to another room where Arcus said,"This is the worst day ever! Not only did we end up with those two, we in a hospital filled with Pokemon madly in love with you girls." The girls giggled and Angel said,"Like what Lily said, you are our mate and nothing's going to change that."
So far, Arcus had been annoyed the entire day.
First, they arrived in a room where a Poliwhirl with a bruised arm fell in love with Aqua. The next was a Hitmonlee tried to flirt with Torch but Dr. Proctor came in and helped bandaged up Hitmonlee's knee.
Later, James's Weezing fell for Angel but Angel had ignored him, making Arcus sigh in relief for once but then, a Ivysaur nearly kissed Ella but she managed to avoid it and Ivysaur was lucky that Arcus didn't used Flamethrower.
Finally, Arcus was unable to handle the problem any longer and he said,"That's it! Girls, we're heading back to our planet." The girls stared at him in disbelief and Angel asked,"Why? I thought we were doing a good job." Arcus said,"Too good. I can't take anymore of all these male Pokemon! Each and every one of them has been trying to get all six of you in every room. I can't bear to let this keep up. If I see one more Pokemon trying to do anything to you girls, that Pokemon is dead!"
Jewel giggled and said,"Don't worry. If they try again, we just tell them that we're taken." Arcus then exclaimed,"Then why didn't you girls do that in the first place?!" Ella giggled and said,"It was funny to see you get mad like that just because those males were trying to get us. So we kept it up." Arcus sighed and said"Honestly, I would be fine if you girls would have told me that."
Just then, they heard the sound of metal clanging.
They quickly ran over to the lobby and saw that Jessie and James had trapped Ash, Misty and Brock in three stretchers while Pikachu was trapped in a pair of rubber gloves.
As they saw James holding a giant needle, Arcus and the girls quickly got in front of them and Jessie said,"What do you think you're doing? Get out of the way!" Arcus growled and said,"I should tell your Vice-President about this." Jessie said,"Oh no you don't! Arbok, attack!" James said,"Weezing, attack as well." As the two Pokemon lunged straight for Arcus, he said,"Angel, Lily, stop them."
The two girls immediately intercepted the two Poison type Pokemon and the two stopped their attacks. Jessie exclaimed,"What's the matter with you two? Get them!" Arbok and Weezing shook their heads and James asked,"Hey, what's the matter with you two?"
Dr. Proctor then stepped in and said,"I thought you two were more observant. Your Pokemon are madly in love with his Pokemon." Jessie and James exclaimed in unison,"What?!" Dr. Proctor continued,"Since your Arbok was cared for by that green Pokemon, he developed feelings for her and when Weezing was injured, the white one happens to have taken care of your Weezing and the same thing happened."
Jessie groaned and said,"This isn't any of your business!" She tossed a beaker filled with medicine at him but he sliced the beaker in half with a scalpel and he said,"You see, Ms. Team Rocket, before you start playing rough, you better take a look at my ammunition." He opened up his coat to reveal eleven more scalpel, four needles and four scissors.
Jessie gulped and said,"Quite an arsenal..." James said,"We shouldn't mess with him." Arcus then said,"Now let me show you me own arsenal..." Arcus revealed his wrist blades that were engulfed in flames as his fists were covered with electricity and his foot were engulfed in flames. Jessie gulped again and said,"Okay. We're sorry. Just don't tell the Vice-President!" Arcus shook his head and said,"Too late! This is for letting your Pokemon fall in love with my mates!" He slashed the air and the flames were launched out of his blades as they took out Arbok with a double direct hit.
Arcus then leaped up before he used his Thunder Punch attack on Weezing before using a double Blaze Kick on Weezing again.
Ash whispered to Brock,"Remind me never to make Arcus mad again." Brock nodded as the two Chansey untied them from their traps and Jewel used her Confusion to get Misty out of hers.
When the three agents were about to run away, Ash said,"Team Rocket, thanks for the break. You can have these back!" Ash, Brock and Misty then shoved the stretchers back to them. Unfortunately, they managed to escape.
A few hours of treating later, the entire of the injured Pokemon were all healed up and they were all soon crowding the girls again, much to Arcus's annoyance again.
"Guys, I'll be heading home now. I'll see you guys in a few weeks." Ash nodded and said,"Good luck winning her heart!" Arcus nodded and he gave a loud whistle before the girls all returned to his side.
Arcus smiled and said,"See you guys." A vortex appeared behind them and Arcus and the girls entered it.
