Surprise Arrival

It had been a little over a month since Davina had gone.

Damon had been staying with Cami, and Kol with Hayley. Neither were having the best time dealing with the loss of Davina, or Monique not coming back. Early that morning, Violet kept waking up as her babies kept kicking her. Throughout the morning, she heard everyone coming in and out of the house. Kol came back to get some things, but then left again. Elijah and Katherine left, seeming like they were in a bit of a hurry but Violet didn't pay much mind. And, with the wedding in two weeks, Rebekah and Stefan were out putting the last few touches together. Now, Violet was up again as she felt Klaus getting out of bed and getting ready.

"Where are you going?" Violet was asking Klaus sleepily; something was up.

"It's early," he came over and kissed her head. "Go back to sleep."

"You didn't answer me," she told him, laying back down after glancing at the clock; it wasn't that early, he just didn't want to worry her.

"Diego called," Klaus shrugged. "Something going on in the Quarter, I was going to go with Stefan to see what it was."

"Ah, not Stefan," Violet shook her head, sitting up again. "He's got a wedding to plan."

"All right, well I'll get Elijah then," Klaus shrugged simply.

"He's gone too," Violet said and he gave her a curious look. "I don't know," she said honestly. "They got a call, then him and Katherine left for Mystic Falls." He opened his mouth to say something, but she stopped him. "And, if you're gonna say Kol, he got a message from Hayley. Some kind of emotional emergency."

"How do you know all this?" Klaus asked, slightly amused as he sat on the edge of the bed next to her.

"I'm Violet, I know everything," she grinned at him. "And, your children have been keeping me up all morning."

"My children?" he laughed, taking her hand. "I think it's funny how, whenever you're not happy, they're exclusively mine."

"Well, yeah," she laughed back. "You're the one that did this to me."

"Oh, is that right?" he chuckled. "Because, I seem to remember you were the one that didn't tell me about this plan."

"Ok, if you've learned one thing from me being pregnant," she said, laughing still. "It's that I'm always right."

"You know what, I have learned that," he smiled, kissing her now. He then leaned over and kissed her stomach twice, one for each baby. "Three more months now?" he asked, looking at her for confirmation.

"Closer to two and a half," she teased; neither of them could wait for their children to be born.

"Whoa," Damon commented, walking into Rousseau's that afternoon. He had been crashing on Cami's couch since Davina had passed away, though she told him it wasn't necessary; he just wanted to be there for her. Today when he woke up, she had already gone into work, but she hadn't opened the bar yet. It looked like there was a lot of cleaning up to do.

"What the hell happened in here?" Damon asked.

"Sophie and Hayley happened in here," Cami rolled her eyes, gathering a few dishes on a tray as she went.

"I take it their still not dealing with the Monique thing," Damon said, looking around still.

"I'd say no," Cami sighed, giving up on cleaning as she stood behind the bar and surveyed the mess. "I'm not even going to bother opening today," she mumbled to herself. "Do you want anything?"

"I can help," Damon shrugged, both turning to look when the door opened; it was Klaus and Violet. "Wow, pregnant and day drinking Vi?" Damon joked with a smirk. "You're all class." She rolled her eyes at him playfully.

"You've been drafted," Violet told him as she took a seat at the bar, nodding over at Klaus in the door way.

"What?" Damon asked in confusion.

"Got some vampire trouble," Klaus explained. "Stefan's wedding planning, Elijah's left town and Kol..." He looked around at the mess. "I'm guessing is recovering from this party somewhere."

"Aw, and I was next on your list to help?" Damon asked with fake appreciation.

"Actually, it would have been Violet or Rebekah," Klaus quipped back. "But, they're both pregnant."

"Am I at least ahead of Katherine?" Damon asked now and Klaus rolled his eyes.

"If I say yes, will you get a move on?" Klaus asked.

"Yes, he will," Cami answered for Damon. She thought he was sweet and really appreciated how he was around for her, but she hated when people hovered over her; she felt that way after Sean had died. As Damon left though, she could tell that Violet wasn't going anywhere and probably came just to see her. "Come to check up on me?" Cami asked lightly, though again, she hated hovering.

"Well, for your information," Violet said nonchalantly. "I'm actually meeting Bekah here for her final dress fitting." While it was true that Rebekah was starting to worry about her dress because she had just barely started showing, that wasn't why Violet was there.

"Ah," Cami nodded. "So, when I saw her and Stefan at the bakery down the street with at least a hundred different cake samples..."

"Oh, cake samples while pregnant," Violet laughed and Cami smiled too. "God, and I love her, but she should not be allowed to have that many choices. It's going to make her crazy."

"She's been going a little crazy with the wedding planning," Cami observed and knew it was entirely true. On only her third visit to the house, Rebekah was asking Cami her thoughts on place settings. She understood though and was happy for them, even happy Rebekah asked her thoughts on things; it was nice.

"You know how they say girls starting planning their weddings in childhood?" Violet asked and Cami nodded. "Yeah, Rebekah's childhood was a thousand years ago." Cami laughed now. "You're coming, right?"

"Yep," Cami nodded.

"With Damon?" Violet grinned, and Cami rolled her eyes but smiled. Her and Damon's relationship was still up for speculation, neither of them making a move yet.

"Well, he'll be there," Cami smiled. "So, I'll be with him, and with you. And with anyone else that's there." Violet rolled her eyes now. "I just don't really want to say about me and your brother," Cami explained and Violet nodded.

"So, do you want to tell me how you're doing?" Violet asked now. "With everything?"

"Nope," Cami shook her head about Davina.

"Ok," Violet nodded. "I can...bore you with stuff about the house then."

"Oh, you're finally done?" Cami asked and Violet nodded.

"There's so much more space now," Violet continued and Cami knew where she was going with this. "Katherine and Elijah were going to move into one of the new rooms, so the babies' nurseries could all be upstairs like their parents," she listed off, going around what she was getting at on purpose. "Then there's a room for Damon, and Kol, and Hayley if they take a weird break again." She rolled her eyes. "And Sophie, but no one really likes her." Cami snorted a laugh. "And there's a bunch of extra guest rooms now," Violet went on, getting to her point. "There's one for you, if you want it."

"I don't know," Cami said. She'd been to the house a few times, but she'd only stayed there that one time with Davina.

"Well, with my brother or not," Violet told her now. "You're still in our family." She shrugged. "And, we like to keep everyone we care about close. Safe."

"I'll think about it," Cami assured her, both looking when they heard someone coming in; it was Sophie, coming back to go upstairs to the apartment. "Where did you end up last night?"

"I don't know," Sophie grumbled, rubbing her head from the hangover. "Oh," she stopped to talk to Violet. "I'm supposed to tell you and Cami to go home."

"From who?" Violet raised her eye brows.

"Your boyfriend," Sophie rolled her eyes. "Something about a Tunde something or other, I don't know." She shrugged, not caring about much since she wasn't getting Monique back. "I'll be upstairs."

"Yeah, we've got this!" Cami called after her in annoyance about the mess. When she turned to look at Violet, she immediately became concerned. "What, what's wrong?" She nodded at the back stairs. "Who was Sophie talking about?"

"Papa Tunde," Violet explained.

Flashback - 1918

Violet had just gotten back to New Orleans, after visiting Damon in Los Angeles to celebrate their birthday. When she got back to the house, she was very surprised to find a party going on. There was a band and tons of people there. Soon, she noticed the banner reading Happy Birthday Violet hanging from the banister. The surprise party was for her.

"There's the birthday girl!" Klaus grinned, coming over to greet her.

"Hi," Violet laughed, kissing him and he hugged her tight, picking her up for a second before setting her down and breaking their kiss.

"How was California?" he asked her.

"It was good," she smiled, still looking around. "You did this for me?"

"It's your birthday," he laughed like it was obvious.

"A week ago," she reminded him.

"And what a week it was," Elijah commented as he came over. "Happy birthday Violet."

"Thanks," she smiled at him.

"But, really," Elijah added on now, smirking at his brother. "I've never seen my brother so beside himself than he is when you go away."

"Well, if she would stay with me for once over her birthday," he teased her. "These things wouldn't happen."

"Me and Damon only turn seventy-four once," she laughed back.

"And you look amazing for seventy-four," Rebekah told her best friend, coming over to hug her.

"Says the ageless beauty herself!" Violet beamed as they hugged.

"C'mon," Rebekah took her hand. "Let's get a drink to celebrate."

The girls went over to the bar, getting drinks while Violet told Rebekah all about her trip. She couldn't believe that this party was for her, it was a really sweet gesture. At the other end of the bar she saw Klaus talking with Elijah and Marcel about something; it looked serious. She tried to listen in, but with the music and crowd it was hard to focus.

"Do you know what the boys are talking about?" Violet asked Rebekah curiously.

"Oh, some new witch that's come to town," Rebekah answered. "His name's Papa Tunde, and he wants to take part of the Quarter back for the witches."

"All in a week," Violet commented and Rebekah nodded. "That's bold." Rebekah nodded again.

"Elijah's worried a war with the witches will draw too much attention and attract my father," Rebekah explained. "So, he wants to negotiate. But, Klaus..."

"Would rather keep everything, even with a war," Violet finished for her, seeing a man coming into the party now with two young teenage boys; she'd never seen them before. "Who's that?"

"Tunde himself," Rebekah replied.

"He invited him to your birthday party?" Cami asked in disbelief.

"Trying to get him to let his guard down," Violet sighed. "Figure out how to get rid of him."

"And...did he?" Cami asked with hesitation.

"Before I answer that," Violet said, understanding the hesitation. After all, this was the part of the new family she was being accepted into that Cami was the least comfortable with. "You have to know that Papa Tunde was willing to be just as ruthless to get control. He started killing werewolves, vampires, even other witches. And he told Klaus if he didn't back off, I was next."

"You killed this guy's kids?" Damon asked Klaus in disbelief. Klaus had just got done telling Damon the same story once he figured out who had to be behind killing these vampires Diego had found. When they ran into Sophie walking by, he asked if it was possible, and she explained someone must have used the magic to bring back four witches, just not the girls from the harvest.

"After he said he'd kill your sister," Klaus reiterated and Damon nodded.

"Well, looks like he's back and pissed now," Damon commented. "What do we...Hayley?" They were both surprised that she was there. "What are you doing?"

"Sophie said something about a resurrected warlock," Hayley explained. "Thought I could help."

"You should have gotten my lazy brother out of bed to come with you," Klaus told her and Hayley looked confused.

"Kol left this morning," Hayley said and Klaus nodded.

"Then he got a message from you and went back," Klaus said and Hayley shook her head.

"I never sent him a message."

After they figured out Kol was missing, they all split up. Damon and Klaus went to go make sure Violet and Cami were all right, while Hayley went to do a locator spell to track down Kol. She found him in a warehouse by the river, though the circle he was laying in acted as a boundary spell, she couldn't get to him. She realized that Papa Tunde must be channeling him for power.

Cami wasn't sure what to do now that Papa Tunde had shown up at the restaurant, attacking Violet as payback for what Klaus had done. Cami tried to fight back, but he tossed her to the side like she was nothing. Ducking behind the bar, Cami went to call Damon for help, able to see Violet's weak body collapsing onto the floor. There was a huge crash. Getting up, she saw Klaus was now fighting with Tunde, Damon scrambling to get out of the power giants' way; he couldn't believe this guy was leveling with Klaus in a fight, possibly even winning.

"Get out of here Cami," Damon urged her.

"I'm in this Damon," she argued and he groaned.

"Ok, well help me with her," he said, and Cami came around to help him lift Violet and carry her behind the bar.

"She's not dead, is she?" Cami asked with worry as they laid her down gently. Behind them, the fight raged on. Tunde was busy taunting Klaus about the symmetry of everything. Klaus had killed Tunde's twin sons, now he was going to kill Klaus's unborn twins.

"No," Damon said, checking his sister over. "The babies are still kicking. She's alive, but she's weak."

"What are you doing?" Cami asked in concern as he grabbed a knife off the counter.

"She's going to need blood to heal," Damon explained, cutting his hand open.

While Damon was helping Violet, Hayley was busy figuring out how to get Kol out of the circle and break Tunde's hold. Getting out her pocket knife, she cut her own hand, hoping her blood would be enough to break the boundary spell. It was, and she was able to drag Kol out of the circle, hoping that was enough to stop Tunde. Back at the restaurant, Klaus realized Hayley must have been able to do something because he was able to toss Tunde away with ease, knocking him to the ground. Not paying much mind to him as he ran out of the restaurant, he rushed over to where Damon and Cami were helping Violet.

"Is she all right?" he asked quickly, looking her over as she let go of Damon's hand. "Are you all right?" he asked now.

"Fine," Violet nodded, listening closely and hearing two perfect heart beats. There was a sudden pain though that made her grab for Damon's hand again.

"Ow, ow, ow," Damon complained. "Not a vampire anymore Vi," he said lightly, but it hurt him a lot.

"I'm sor...Ah," Violet grimaced, squeezing again.

"Ok," Damon winced, looking at Klaus. "You're going to have to switch me."

"What's going on?" Klaus asked Violet in concern.

"Oh my God," she gasped; she remembered this pain.

Flashback - 1864

"Violetta," Thomas said, getting her attention. Last week, she had lost both of her brothers in the fire at the church. Then, several days ago, her father was found dead, seemingly from an animal attack. They had just attended his funeral. With Violet losing her entire family in the span of a week, he was naturally worried for her.

"Will you talk to me sweetheart?" he asked her gently, taking her hand. She went to say something, but the sharp pain in her abdomen made her wince, squeezing his hand tightly. "Ah, Violetta, what is it?"

"I think the baby is coming Thomas," she gasped through the pain, her head falling back in agony.

"Something's wrong," Klaus concluded on his own.

"No, no," she said quickly. "It's fine, I just...ah..." She breathed through it. "I've had this pain before."

"When?" he asked in confusion. Surely he'd remember an instance with a baby when she was hurting like this.

"When I was having Lucy," Violet said and his eyes went big.

"You're in labor?" Damon asked in disbelief. "You can't be."

"No, it makes sense," Cami reasoned. "You're due in two months, right? Twins always come early and with what just happened-"

"OW!" Damon said, looking at Klaus. "She's breaking my hand man, seriously." Cami just gave him a look as he switched out with Klaus holding Violet's hand.

"We've gotta get her to the hospital," Cami was saying now. She might not need a doctor's attention, but her babies that were two months early might, though she wondered if the vampire blood would keep them safe.
