What Good is Love? Ch. 36: Cat's Bachelorette

Well, y'all are freaking amazing. From chapter to chapter, I gained 30 followers and 30 favorites to get me to 270 favorites and 370 followers! Holy, crap! Well, guess I gotta supply some bachelorette parties, starting with the kitty cat.

Ruby had spent the night on the floor, Weiss deeming the couch not worth Ruby's time. While Yang normally went over the top to protect her younger sister, this time she had absolutely no pity. Yang had spent many nights on the couch or floor, and it was simply the part that Ruby was going to have to endure if she was to be with Weiss. Ruby's personality was going to lead her to many a nights on the couch or on the floor, maybe even rivaling Yang's record with Blake.

But now it was the morning, and this was the day that many things happened. The first thing that happened was that Renee, Velvet, Nora, and Pyrrha arrived at Hentrove. The second thing, probably the more important thing, was that tonight they were going to have their bachelorette parties. Blake and Yang had agreed that same night would be easiest, both of their maids of honor would share in the misery of a drunk bride to be.

"C'mon Yang!" Ruby said excitedly. "Get up! Get up! We have to pick up Nora and Pyrrha from the airport!"

"I suppose that Velvet and Renee will have to find another ride," Blake said in amusement. Ruby's attempt at getting Yang up had also woken up Weiss and Blake {Ruby hadn't slept that great on the floor, and she was up earlier then everyone else} in the process. Yang however, was determined to sleep.

"Pick them up without me," Yang grumbled.

"Yang, darling, put on a good face and get a cup of coffee," Blake said sternly.

"No." Blake sighed, and sat down next to Yang in the bed. She then very slowly brought her hands onto Yang's stomach, and gave one hard shove to get her out of bed. That got Yang to shoot straight up and stare Blake down, who just looked at her with a challenging look in her eyes. Both Weiss and Ruby stepped away from the couple, not sure as to where it was going but unwilling to intervene for fear of their lives.

"You're so lucky I love you and you're even luckier that you're not dating my sister," Yang growled.

"You're even luckier that I am tolerant of you and your wild behavior," Blake sang. "Remember what I said Ruby?"

"No strikers," Ruby said confidentially. Blake sighed, and rubbed Ruby's head.

"Never change," Blake mumbled. "Never change. Hey, do me a favor and tell Pyrrha that I requested no strippers, and if you say the wrong thing I can only hope that she'll understand it." Ruby just nodded with a blank stare, and Yang sighed.

"Not even one dude?" Yang asked.

"That kind of defeats the purpose of the ring that you have on your finger," Blake pointed out. Yang reached to take it off instantly. "And no, taking it off doesn't make it have no purpose." Yang sighed, and nudged Blake.

"I'll let you have oooooone," Yang sang. Blake kept up an unamused stare. "Two?" Same look. "How about three?"

"You do realize that quantity doesn't really matter, right?" Blake asked. "It's all about quality for me."

"Really nice strippers," Yang said triumphantly.

"Deal."

"I will never understand you two," Weiss said sadly. "Ruby, we move out soon."

"Bu-," Ruby started.

"No buts, the day you learn what strippers are you will understand why it is that I don't want them to live in the same home as us."

"I know what strippers are!"

"What are they?" Ruby paused for a moment, and then stared at the ground.

"Do they remove paint?" Ruby asked innocently.

"And thus one of the reasons that I don't have to worry about you cheating on me," Weiss said happily.

"Also the reason why I sometimes don't think you and Yang are really related," Blake said.

"Shut up," Ruby and Yang said in unison.

"Regardless," Weiss said, cutting into the conversation. "We do still have to pick up Velvet, Renee, Pyrrha, and Nora. If we don't, then they'll have to get a cab."

"I'm assuming you took care of transportation?" Yang asked. Weiss gave her a look that just read, of course. "Right, well let's get going."

"You're still in pajamas," Weiss said dryly.

"Oh, right." Yang grabbed her jacket and put on her boots, and instantly she looked like she was already in normal clothing. "All set."

"What?" Weiss asked. "I thought that you wore pajamas when you slept?"

"I do," Yang said calmly. "I just happen to look good when doing it." Yang walked out the door, leaving Weiss grumbling about something.

Later On: Night

The pickup had gone over easily. Renee, Velvet, Pyrrha, and Nora were picked up, greeted, and showed to their rooms. Nora and Pyrrha shared one, while Renee and Velvet had their own room. But they all knew precisely what they were doing that night, and there wasn't much to worry about. In fact, all of the girls had dressed up in casual wear and were all prepared to go.

"Alright girls," Weiss said. "All of us know where we are going, and who we are going with. We'll most likely see each other early on tomorrow morning, and some of us will remember seeing each other again." Weiss gave a look over at Ruby, which really couldn't have been more apparent what she meant at that moment.

"We should really get going," Yang finally said. "I really don't think that alcohol is going to drink itself."

"Neither do I," Blake said. "Velvet, are you-."

"No," the rabbit Faunus said instantly.

"Good, time to get going." With that, the group parted ways. Weiss had purchased the service of two limos for the rides, mostly because she wanted to do things the proper way. One limo was black and the other yellow {which had been incredibly difficult to find}, leaving no suspicion as to who was intended to go where.

Blake walked over to the black limo, and looked over it.

"You always have to get a limo, huh?" Blake asked.

"Let's just say that I prefer to do things the right way," Weiss replied. "Well, let's not waste anymore time." Weiss opened up the door, and gestured for Blake, Velvet, and Renee to pile in. The three girls complied, and Weiss trailed in just behind them.

The two girls who were unused to limos looked around it in awe. Weiss had requested to have a few bottles of champaign in preparation of the night, otherwise Blake was used to everything else. The main perk to knowing Weiss was the limo rides everywhere. After all, there were only so many people that could fit onto Bumblebee.

"Wow," Velvet muttered. "This place is incredible."

"Relax Velvet, this is just the limo," Weiss said. "Though, Blake did suggest a bar. I highly doubt that it'll get much classier then this."

"Classier is overrated," Blake remarked. "So long as it gets the job done."

"Kind of like Yang," Renee remarked. "Definitely doesn't have a lot of class to anything, but always gets the job done." Blake flashed a glare over at Renee, who just grinned at Blake. "You're gonna argue that Yang has class?" Blake paused for a moment, and then shook her head.

"I do still love her though," Blake said.

"I say that we have a glass of champagne to start the evening off," Weiss said suddenly. She grabbed a bottle and handed it over to Blake {as Weiss couldn't open champagne without murdering someone} and then pulled out the glasses. Blake filled two of them up, and Weiss handed those over to Velvet and Renee. Blake filled up the last two, and handed over the partially filled bottle back to Weiss.

"I'm not sure I'm gonna drink this," Velvet said warily. "What's the alcohol content?"

"Relax Velvet," Renee said. "And if you don't want to, this'll help you do that. The alcohol content in champagne is waaaaay lower then the alcohol content that you'd find in wine."

"Really?" Velvet asked.

"Sure," Renee said. Velvet looked down at the glass, and Renee mouthed the words 'I don't really know' to Blake. Blake smiled, and looked over at her adorable rabbit friend. Blake could tell her that the alcohol content was just about the same, and the carbonation made people drunk faster. Or, she could enjoy watching Velvet drink and loosen up a little bit.

"Renee's right," Blake said. "It's lower." That did it for Velvet. She slowly handed off her glass to Weiss, who took it with a strange look.

"Every time you defend Renee I know you two are lying," Velvet said. "I lived with you for a long time, and Renee visited often."

"Dammit Blake," Renee said accusingly. "This one's on you." Blake shrugged, and raised up her glass.

"To one of us actually being engaged," Blake said. Everyone echoed that sentiment, and tapped glasses.

The Blood Moon Bar

The rest of the ride had no champagne in it. Both Blake and Renee had decided to avoid getting too drunk this early on, and Weiss had already made her conscious decision to avoid as much alcohol as possible. Velvet didn't even bother taking one sip of it, choosing instead to remain sober with Weiss.

"Ladies, we have arrived," the driver said.

"Thank you very much," Weiss said. She opened up the door, and nodded over to her friends. "Ladies."

"I think you're overlooking a very small problem," Renee said. "We don't have any fake IDs."

"Please, like I'd overlook that fact." Weiss handed off three IDs to the rest of the group, and looked over at them with a victorious look on her face. Blake, having been informed of Weiss' plan ahead of time, seemed to be the only one {yet again} not overly surprised.

"How?" Renee asked. Weiss seemed to grow a little sad at Renee's question, but she rebounded quickly.

"Let's just say that not all of the rumors about my father's company and their questionable business partners are completely false," Weiss said. "We don't go to any extremes, but someone that can create a fake ID is well within our skill set."

"Can I keep this thing after all of this?"

"Consider it apart of the gift bag," Blake said, stopping Weiss from following it up with anything. "Now, are we here to stop and admire fake IDs or are we here to go inside and celebrate?" Blake didn't even wait for a reply, and instead walked towards the bar. The other three followed Blake, and entered the bar.

It had a darker theme going on in the place. It was mostly decorated with black and red, matching the general description of a blood moon. It had a dance floor, bar, tables, and a stage with live music going on.

"This place certainly is cheery," Renee remarked. "I mean, I know you've got that whole gothic kind of a look going on with you Blake, but seriously you couldn't try to go for anywhere with a bit more color to it?"

"There's red, isn't there?" Blake asked. "Plus, last time I checked, you don't complain much when it comes to a place that serves anything with alcohol in it."

"You and I know each other well Ms. Belladonna."

"Where to?" Weiss asked.

"Bar for myself and Renee, we're getting shots," Blake replied. Blake had made a very conscious decision when she decided on a bachelorette party. She was not going to remember most of the night the next morning, and Weiss was going to have to take care of her.

"Velvet, shall we follow?" Weiss asked. "While those two are getting drunk we can talk like civilized people." Velvet smiled and nodded. Weiss turned to see that both Blake and Renee were already at the bar, and she sighed. "And now we play the game of, 'catch the cat.'"

The four girls sat at the bar, with Blake ordering six shots for both herself and Renee, while Weiss and Velvet just settled on a glass of water. While Renee and Blake were putting stakes on who could down the shots the fastest, Weiss noticed something that she hadn't before. Most people at the bar were Faunus. It didn't make a lot of sense to her as to why this'd be a trend, but it was one. It didn't bother Weiss, though. As a matter of fact, it made her quite happy to see. Not too long ago, she would've bee ashamed for being out with three Faunus at a primarily Faunus bar. Now, she really didn't care.

"Lots of Faunus here," Velvet said. "This may be bad."

"Why's that?" Weiss asked.

"They're really bad flirts, and I hate being flirted with." Weiss just nodded, but shifted her attention to Renee and Blake.

"Fifty lien for the first to down all six of these," Renee said. "Deal?"

"Deal," Blake replied. "Weiss, mind officiating?" Weiss nodded, and looked over at the two of them.

"On go," Weiss said. "One," Renee and Blake both eyed the first shot they would take. "Two," now the girls were mapping out a route through the shots. "Three," they readied their hands to grab the shots. "Go." Renee and Blake snatched at the first shot and downed it in one go. Blake was slightly quicker to the second shot, but Renee made it up on the third one. At an even draw for the fourth one, Blake and Renee kept their pace going into the fifth one. After drawing again on the fifth shot, Blake used whatever reflexes she had to finish the six one just before Renee did.

"Blake!" Weiss said.

"I need to stop thinking that I'm not affected by liquor short term," Renee said, staring at the bar. "I really am."

"And that forgetfulness has cost you a lot of lien," Blake said. She held out her hand, and Renee sullenly put the lien in it.

"Impressive show ladies," someone said. All four girls looked over, and saw a single guy standing there. He was tall with a strong build. He had on a purple denim jacket with blue denim jeans. Both articles of clothing were torn, and the jacket was sheltering a gray shirt with a wolf's head on it. He had red eyes, silver hair, wolf ears, and a wolf's tail. "Not many people can do that as fast as you," he continued. "Though, what else can I expect from a fox and a cat?"

"Who are you?" Renee asked, sloppily pointing a finger at the guy.

"Nathan," he said, adding a grin to it, exposing a pair of fangs. "Nathan Wolf, pleased to make your acquaintance."

"And what do you want?" Blake asked, her speech only sounding slightly more composed then her already drunk friend.

"Well, I was across the bar and I smelled cat, so I decided to come check it out." He leaned against the bar, and got very close to Blake. "And I can see that this was more then worthwhile."

"Too bad for you though," Blake said. She raised up her hand, and flashed the black amethyst that rested on it. "I'm engaged, this is just a bachelorette party."

"Aren't you supposed to cheat once during a bachelorette party?" Nathan asked.

"Mh, not when you're the fiancée of someone who is far more attractive then the person trying to get in your pants," Blake replied cooly. Even slightly buzzed, Blake's wit held true.

"Ouch, must be a real hunk then."

"No, you're just not hard to top." Nathan shifted his gaze over to Renee, who was already getting another glass of something alcoholic, and he completely missed Velvet, leading him to Weiss.

"What about you ma'am?" Nathan asked. "You're plenty hot, how'd you like to spend some time with me?" Weiss took in a deep breath, and looked him dead in the eyes.

"Hm, wolf Faunus, I see a problem right off the bat," Weiss said. Nathan's face changed to slightly angry for a moment, but Weiss continued to press forward. "Historically, wolves are very aggressive and over bearing. You most likely have a huge ego, and you assume that girls here should be lining up to be with you. Secondly, fangs, really? That'd be awful to be with. Third, you're not even that attractive. Fourth thing, and you'd better listen closely this one is really important." Nathan's face was a mix of shock and anger, but he couldn't refuse. "You have a dick." His face fell at that moment, as he realized he had fished a little bit to big.

"You're gay?" He asked.

"Very," Weiss replied sharply. "In fact, the fiancée over there is out on her bachelorette party while her fiancée is having her own bachelorette party." Nathan's face fell even further.

"You're all gay?" He asked.

"I cannot speak for our other friends, but for at least 50% yes. Now get out of here before I complain that you're bothering us." Nathan almost tripped over his own feet as he tried to get out of the way, and Velvet just stared wide eyed at Weiss.

"That was incredible," Velvet said.

"Learn to deal with media for seventeen years and jerks like that are a breeze," Weiss said.

"Verbal kick in the balls," Blake said, putting a hand on Weiss' shoulder. "I'm impressed Weiss."

"How large of a single drink can I order?" Renee asked. "Oh, and make sure it has a really high alcohol content, none of this cheap shit."

"Thanks you two," Weiss said. "Blake, I believe that you should rejoin Renee." Blake turned towards the bartender, and nodded towards him.

"Make it two of those," Blake said. "Whatever they may be." The bartender grabbed something, and put two mugs of some kind of foul smelling beverage in front of them.

"The Cycle," the bartender began. "One of those is enough to get most people shit-faced, these two will be on the house because I enjoyed your friend and Nathan's exchange."

"Thank you," Weiss said. The bartender, a large bull Faunus, nodded towards her and walked off. The moment he left, Renee grinned at Blake.

"Chug it?" She asked.

"Are you trying to get yourself killed?" Weiss asked.

"Kind of," Renee replied, a drunken smile on her face.

"Chug it," Blake agreed finally. Her and Renee stared at each other, and started to drink. It took them about three minutes a piece to finish it, Renee managing to finish it ahead of time. After they set down those mugs, both girls looked ready to pass out. Six shots of who knows what, and now the Cycle. Things definitely weren't boding well for the two girls making it much further.

"Blake, are you feeling alright?" Velvet asked.

"I suggest you move," Blake said, her speech heavily slurred. "Wouldn't want to get any vomit on you sweetie." Velvet slid further away from Blake, who looked over at Renee.

"I think one more glass," Blake said. "No chugging though." Renee hiccuped, and passed out by the bar. "Well, guess this one'll just be me." Blake started laughing a crazy laugh, one that you can only manage while heavily under the influence, and turned towards the bartender. Luckily for her, he had heard and understood her enough to fill a glass ahead of time.

"Weiss, Velvet," Blake said. "I doubt that I'll remember this in the morning, but I just wanted to say that I love the both of you. If I die here, tell Yang that I love her but all of my stuff is going to you two." Blake gave one last stupid grin before downing her drink, and immediately passing out after it was finished.

"I'll get the limo pulled around," Weiss said sadly. "Velvet, think you can help me with these two?"

"But I'm not very strong," Velvet said shyly.

"Neither am I," Weiss said thoughtfully. "I guess I hoped for too much to think you'd be stronger then you looked."

"How about we ask for some big guy to do it?" Velvet offered.

"I can call the bouncers," the bartender offered.

"Thank you," Weiss said. "This is really appreciated."

"I just hope it shows up on my tip," the bartender joked. "Seriously though, I would make sure your friends on the ground are still breathing. That's a really high alcohol intake in a really short period of time." Weiss leaned down, and heard both Blake and Renee breathing.

"All good," Weiss said. "May I have the checkbook for our tab?" The bartender nodded, and brought out a mobile payment scroll. He tallied up the numbers, and placed it in front of Weiss. She simply brought out a lien card, and swiped it. On the tip, she was sure to include a 500 lien. She handed it back to him, and watched the bartenders mouth drop open. "Consider it a good gesture," Weiss said.

"Thank you very much ma'am," the bartender.

"Don't thank me too much," Weiss said. "You'd better delegate some of that to the bouncers." The bartender nodded, and the bouncers picked that exact moment to arrive.

While those two carried Blake and Renee's drunkenly passed out bodies to the limo, Weiss couldn't help but wonder how Yang's bachelorette party was going.

End: Sorry this took me so long. I wanna give a really good medical reason for why this took so long, but honestly it's really just one word, five letters, Smite. I love this game so much... Anyways, I will be doing an AMA {Ask Me Anything} on the RWBYOC subreddit on Thursday at 12:00 PM MST, or 3:00 PM EST for an easier conversion. The link to that subreddit will be on my authors page, and that will change to the direct link to the AMA when it goes up. So please, if you have any questions stop by and ask them. Otherwise, leaving other questions, comments, follows, favorites, and feedback is always appreciated.
