Chapter 35
It was Saturday and the kids wanted to do something with Jessica Adam was in work so it meant they would have to take Jacob out with them but Jessica didn't mind. Fastening him in to his buggy she opened the door and pushed the pram out on to the street. Amelia skipped ahead of her mum and they stopped at the lights and then crossed as the light was on green.
The water was cool, inviting and Jessica watched her children play, diving off the board. It made her happy knowing her children were happy. Sipping her hot chocolate she laughed and smiled.
She felt a tugging on her arm.
"Mum, come in " Amelia asked
"I don't know " Jessica replied, draining the last of her drink.
Amelia pleaded with her mum and soon Jessica headed off to the changing rooms. She sighed, digging out her costume. It was nothing special just a plain white one and she put her hair up as she came out and climbed the steps leading in to the water. It was cold at first and she quickly became sick with fear, scared she wouldn't get out but she swam a little gingerly at first, then started to swim.
Tired, Jessica ordered herself and the kids drinks to warm up before they started the walk home.
Jessica unlocked the door picked up Jacob and walked up the stairs with him while Amelia was in her room. She popped her head around the door. "You OK?" She asked her daughter.
Amelia nodded and Jessica shut the door walking back down the stairs and sitting in the living room waiting for Adam.
