Hey everyone. I know it's been awhile since I last posted but life just got a little busy. I PROMISE that I will start trying a lot harder to write and post more often. I hope you guys aren't getting frustrated with me! :( I am going to keep writing and like I said I'm going to try really hard to get chapters out faster, but please bare with me... DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN TWILIGHT!
After our breakfast/lunch, with a mini make out session in the middle (What? We can't help ourselves), I started getting the food around for dinner. I know it's a little early but I needed to be able to do something and what better way to keep me occupied than cooking for people?
I was in the middle of tenderizing the meat (Who doesn't like hitting stuff with hammers?) when I saw Jake, Nessie, and the kids coming up the driveway. When I looked at the clock I realized that I had been in the kitchen for two and a half hours! I wonder why Em hasn't come to talk to me for a while. I peeked around the corner into the living room to see what he was doing. He was laying on the couch watching tv… Football; that is why he hasn't been in the kitchen trying to take some food.
"Em. The kids are home." I yelled from my spot in the kitchen.
The only response I got was a grunt. This caused me to roll my eyes.
"Em. Babe, come on. Go greet our babies I'm cooking!" I yelled again.
He grunted again. "I know I know. I'm going. I'm just old so I grunt sometimes when I get up, calm down Ms. Fiancé." He said this right as he came into the kitchen.
"Hey, now. If you're old then so am I. so no talk of this old talk Mr. Fiancé." I said cocking my eyebrow at him.
He laughed. "What, you don't want to be old with me?" he said this as he came up and hugged me.
"No way! I still have a few years before I'm old. Don't rush it." I told him seriously.
Right as we were about to lean into each other to get some kissing going on we heard "Bellaaaa, Daaaaaaaddy!" from our favorite little girl. Yea, we may have forgotten that they were back… oops.
Emmett and I broke apart quickly and I hesitantly took off my ring and slipped it into my pocket like we discussed earlier in the day. This way no one would be tipped off about our amazing announcement.
"Hey, cutie. We missed you guys. Speaking of guys. Where are Zach and Graham?" Emmett asked as he reached down to pick Mia up and kiss her tiny cheek.
She giggled. "They went to the playground out back. They said that they weren't done playing at the park so they have to finish. Jake and Ness went outback too. But, I wanted to see you guys. I missed you." I don't know why but Mia always calls Nessie Ness… I guess it's just a Mia thing, and Nessie doesn't seem to mind so we don't correct her or anything.
"Awe. We missed you too." I told her also giving her cheek a kiss. "Well, I'm making dinner for tonight. You can stay in here and help me, you can go outside, or you can play in your room. It's up to you, honey."
"I wanna stay in here with you! OH! I can go get Ness and we can all stay in here and have girl time and daddy can go outside with the boys." She said the last part with a raised eyebrow toward her dad.
Emmett laughed and put her back on the floor and said, "Ok, ok. I can tell when I'm not wanted. I'll go tell Nessie the plan and if she wants to come in she will."
"Thanks daddy!" Mia yelled after him.
Soon after Emmett left Nessie came in. Her pregnancy belly got bigger every time I saw it. I loved it! She on the other hand hated it.
That was actually the first thing she commented on as she came into the kitchen to sit down, "Ugh. I feel like a HUGE ELEPHANT." Before I could even tell her that wasn't true she quickly followed the statement up with, "OOOH! What is that smell? It smells amazing in here. Is dinner ready yet, I'm starving!"
This made both Mia and I laugh.
"Nessie, you are not fat! And yes dinner is almost done, the only thing left is the meat. I got an early start on everything. So you won't have to wait too long." I told her.
"Good." Was her reply.
"Nessie, I want your baby to be a girl." Mia told her. She's been saying that every time that she sees Nessie or Jake. I think that she assumes that if she says it enough it'll come true. The poor thing will be heartbroken if that baby is a boy.
Nessie smiled indulgently at her, "Honey, you know I can't control that."
She sighed, "I know... Hey, I have a question." She ended that question softly, almost a whisper.
"What is it, hon?" Nessie asked in the same tone of voice.
"Does this baby get to be my sister… or brother? I know you're not my mom and Jake isn't my dad, but I want the baby to be mine too." She said the last part as fast as she could, but Nessie and I are pretty much experts in Mia talk.
"Oh Mia! Of course the baby can be both yours and Zach's brother or sister." Nessie told her. This conversation is making me tear up.
Mia, however, was truly appeased. "Really!?" she yelled, when Nessie nodded her head yes she squealed and said, "YAY! Cool, I'm really happy now. If the baby is a girl I won't be the only little girl anymore!"
I laughed. "You sure won't."
We all talked about random girl stuff, including all of Mia's favorite TV shows and toys, while I finished up cooking the food. By the time the food was done the boys apparently got tired of 'boy time' and came in to sit with us.
"So foods done, but we still have a half hour before our parents, Alice, Edward, and their baby boy (Masen) get here. The only person that gets to eat a little of the food now is Ness because the baby in her tummy is hungry."
"UGH." All the boys grunted in displeasure, while Nessie squealed (much like Mia) "YES!" She dove for the potatoes I had on the counter. If I knew that's what she wanted I would've gave her some as soon as she came inside; they've been done since before she got here.
Jake laughed at that, "She's been craving anything with potatoes for a while."
"I can see that." I managed to laugh out.
"WAIT! MOM?" Graham yelled out.
"What?" I asked with a smile, he was pretty excited about whatever he is going to say.
"When you said parents did you mean that Gramps is coming?" he squealed out. There is a lot of squealing going on here today…
"Yes, he sure is. He wants to official meet Zach, Mia, and Emmett."
"AWESOME! We haven't seen Gramps in a long time! Wait till you meet him Zach he's so cool. He likes to go fishing and he even said he's going to take me sometime, I bet he would take you too!"
"Cool." Zach said with a big smile. "I don't think Grandpa Carlisle likes to fish, but he likes to camp. Maybe we could all go fishing and Charlie can teach us ALL how to fish!"
Wow. Our dads had a ton of fun heading for him when he gets here. *DING DONG* Speaking of dads, I bet that is one of them now.
"Em, let's go get the door." I said tugging him by the arm away from everyone.
"Kay." Was his only response.
As soon as we opened the door I was the one squealing, I saw my dad. I didn't realize how much I missed him until I saw him. I launched myself right into his arms. He even stumbled a little.
"Geez Bells, calm yourself." He said even as he hugged me tighter.
"Missed you old man." I told him.
He laughed as he started letting me go. "I know, me too."
"Well, Emmett why don't you greet us like that?" we heard from a voice down the driveway.
"Because, mom, I would squish you." He told her, gently giving her a hug. Then giving his dad a hug as well.
"I guess so, but it would be nice to be greeted like that." Esme told him with a fond smile.
I chose that moment to but in, "Well that can be arranged." I said. Then I squealed and ran toward both of them and crashed into them with a huge hug.
"Yea, your mom is right, this makes me feel all special." Carlisle said.
After that we introduced my dad to Emmett's parents and they seemed to get along pretty well talking about their jobs and whatnot. Which I am very happy about, I was a little worried since they have pretty different lives. But apparently doctors and police officers have a lot to discuss.
"Ok, enough work talk for the day guys." I told them when Emmett started to join the work conversation, they could do that later. "Dad, you have to come meet Zach and Mia!"
"Ok, ok. But you know you haven't even officially introduced me to him." Charlie said with a nod of his head toward Emmett.
I laughed a little, "Oh yea. I got to excited I guess. Dad, this is my Emmett. Emmett this is my dad Charlie."
"It's really nice to officially meet you Charlie." Emmett said as they shook hands.
"Nice to meet the guy that has made my baby so happy." Charlie replied.
Emmett began to blush, nice to know I'm not the only one that does that.
"Ok. Now that that's over, let's go meet the kids. They're cuter anyway." I said with a giggle.
Em pouted as we walked back inside, "Well! That's nice to know!"
"Oh, you knew that already. I fell in love with your kids just as fast as I fell in love with you." I told him; leaning up to give him a short kiss.
He smiled into the kiss. "I know. I did the same thing."
