Chapter 38
The return
xXx
Minas Tirith…
In the distance I just saw it as a white spot. I was riding next to Legolas who was on Arod with Gimli behind him.
The Men were cleaning up after the war. Aragorn rode first next to Eomer in through the big doors of Minas Tirith. The people both smiled and cheered even, happy to see their future King back alive. Knowing that the enemy is dead. Legolas and I rode right behind Aragorn and Eomer. Merry and Pippin sat behind Elladan and Elrohir, who rode behind us.
We were still riding up towards second level, and then third. I saw a woman with tears in her eyes come running into her husband´s arm, kissing his face. I smiled at their reunion. I saw another man get run down by two children, while their mother smiled, looking at them. Legolas saw I looked at him. We both can´t wait till our child comes into this world.
Legolas took my hand. "Soon that will be us," he said. "I will be run down by three children." I laughed.
"And a wife," I said.
I looked up at Legolas. "I cannot believe it is over, it is so weird feeling."
"It is not quite over, there is still Orcs in this world," Legolas said. "My home is still being attacked by Spiders and Orcs."
"You really know how to ruin a perfect moment," I quote what he had said in Helm´s Deep. He chuckled when I said that. "We will go there and help. I haven´t forgotten your home."
"When you are feeling all right, we will," he said. "Don´t want you to give birth under a attack." I smiled, no I don´t want that. When we got to the top of Minas Tirith, it was still people waiting for us. On the steps to the doors to the throne room I saw Eowyn and Faramir.
Legolas helped me down from my horse and I met up with Eowyn. "I am so glad you are all right," Eowyn told me. "You both are all right." I smiled to her and gave her a hug. She then went over to Eomer, almost crashing into his arms. I looked at the reunion. It is weird to be back. I squeezed Legolas hand and everything went dizzy.
"Tiaashar?" I heard Legolas say.
"Take me inside," I said to him. "I need some water." He nodded and helped me inside.
…
"I think I just need to relax, Legolas," I said. We were in our room and Legolas had called for a healer and a midwife.
"I won´t stop worrying," he said. I smiled to him. I drank up the rest of the water.
"I know you won´t," I said. "It has been a long day. Don´t expect me to be up tomorrow or the next coming days." He chuckled.
"Don't worry about that, we can be in bed the next month if you want." I looked at him and raised my eyebrows.
"We? I do think Aragorn would appreciate a little bit of help," I said. It knocked on the door and Legolas told them to come in. It was two healers that rushed inside. "I am—" I stopped myself when I saw Legolas raise an eyebrow at me. I rolled my eyes, knowing he is right. I should be checked just in case. Legolas left us alone. He is so much alike his father that sometimes it is scary.
I looked at the healers when they finished the checking.
"Everything all right I assume," I said.
"Yes, yes," the healer said. I did not keep my look away from her. She was younger than me, around sixty, but she has more skill than me. "You have to promise me this time that you will rest." I nodded. "Take it easy and do not rush into things." I nodded again. "Do not ride either. You´ve been through a lot now, too much for a pregnant woman."
"I will take it easy, I promise," I promised her.
I walked through the door to the garden with a good book in my hand. I saw them sitting together on the bench facing each other. She was smiling and even got red cheeks. They do look cute together. I should not interrupt them. I turned.
"Tiaashar?" Oh no… I turned to them again. Eowyn smiled to me and they both stood up.
"I am sorry, I did not mean to interrupt," I said to them.
"You did not interrupt," Faramir said. "We were just talking." Eowyn came closer to me.
"How are you feeling?" She asked me and looked at my belly, so did I. Completely blown up.
"I am good, so is my child. I don´t know how long I can walk," I said.
"Excuse me, ladies. I must speak with King Aragorn," Faramir said and left. Eowyn and I walked over to a bench near a tree.
"It is strange," I said. "That people say King Aragorn already. For sixty years ago, Aragorn definitely did not want to be a king." We sat down. "What do you think about Faramir?" I asked her. She smiled.
"Same as how you think about Legolas," she said. I smiled widely. "But you can´t tell anyone. Not yet. We are not sure how things goes." We looked out at the flowers. "They are taking the body of Kin—Théoden back to Edoras." I looked at her. She have a hard time getting over her uncle. I took her hand and squeezed it.
"You need time to get over him, but you will," I said. She smiled to me. Eowyn looked towards the entrance to the garden. I looked there and saw Legolas.
"Oh, I forgot to do something," she suddenly said. "Don´t stress to much." I gave her a half smile and she left me. I saw her giving few words to Legolas before she left the garden and my husband approached me. He stood next to the tree, placing a hand on it.
"Tomorrow is the big day for Aragorn, how is he?" I asked.
"He is very calm," Legolas said. "Something I will not be when my time comes." He sat down next to me. I took his hand. "When I will be King and you my Queen." I looked into his eyes.
"That will take some time to happen, my love," I said. "Your father is very stubborn." I leaned on him and he took his arms around me.
"Yes, very stubborn indeed," he said. "That I am glad for he is. I saw how he was before we left to Imladris. Before he was attacked and almost died. I don´t think I ever told you about my mother."
"I know what happened, Legolas. You don´t have to tell me if it is such a burden." He touched my growing belly.
"How did you know?" He asked me.
"People were talking, and my uncle told me," I said. "When your people knew about us, they were all very happy. They said you had changed a bit after your mother sailed to the west." The Wood-Elves normally don´t hear the sea calling, but this was different. Legolas´s mother was with Lord Elrond´s wife, Lady Celebrían when it happened. They both got captured by Orcs and tortured by them. It was Elladan and Elrohir that saved them. Lady Celebrían and Legolas´s mother never recovered and they sailed to the West together.
"Yes. I think my father is thinking about sail to the West, to meet with my mother, his love of his life." I sat up and turned to him. "When he was dying, he thought he could just let go."
"But you was there, you was there for him," I said. He touched my chin and kissed my lips. "And if that time comes that he wants to sail, I will be there for you."
"I know," he said. "You will be an amazing Queen." I smiled. Maybe… "You will be, because I have fate in you."
"Only if you say you will be a good King." We looked into each other´s eyes.
I will be a good King thanks to you. He said to me. I narrowed my eyes. How did he do that? "Elven bond, Tiaashar. I thought you knew Elves." I chuckled.
"I know Dwarves, Elves still surprise me."
