"I have an idea," Link cried and pulled out the Ocarina of Time, and played a mysterious, airy. Suddenly a ball of light surrounded the boys and soon they were twisting, turning, and going up, down, side to side as bright rainbow colors surrounded them until they could barely feel their insides still inside their bodies.

Mario eyes had been shut the entire time, until her felt the cushiony ground beneath his feet, but still refused to open his eyes. "Mario!" Luigi shouted in his ear causing him to immediately see they were on the ground and NOT dead.

"Are you alright?" Link asked, his eyes chained to the ground where the crest had been stolen.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Mario said, before seeing Link's expression when he looked down at where the shadows had flown away. "You okay?"

"Not really," Link said. "That crest was my only was back home and you guys need to get back to your land for the Festival."

Mario sighed, "Here's what we do. We know where they went, so let's follow them and see where they take the three pieces." The two younger boys and the fairy agreed and Mario headed off in search of the shadow to the West.

Mario walked along the western area and after the first of the shadows, until he came across a piece of the crest lying and the front of the Boo Woods, a disgusting place filled with gnarled trees, angry spirits that were said to feast on living creatures, and maze of your deepest, darkest fears that imbed itself into her subconscious then began to tear at your soul until death seems like the only alternative. So, what does Mario do? Go directly inside.

"Well, he's going to go insane," Dinohatten Mario commented, until Merlee

waved her hand and made a literal zipper on his mouth.

Meanwhile, Mario had just caught site of the crest when dark walls began to form around him, as he chased after it. He was within grabbable distance when he heard his a very familiar scream came from the other side. He tried to ignore it but he couldn't! The scream was long and hard, and he raced after it, against his own free will as the crest began to crawl away from the spot and into the hand of a shady hand. Mario began to run when he was lost in a small part of the forest where the screams became louder and louder that they were now pounding against his ears. Suddenly a cold breeze filled the area that sent chills of ice down Mario's back as he tried to walk back until he felt ice cold hands touch his shoulders. He tried to run away, but the grip was too strong, and when I looked up he nearly screamed. The figure holding him in place was a person he'd recognize, even if the person he hadn't seen in years. The figure was had matted dark brown hair, pupiless, pure-white eyes, and dark blue skin, but she looked very much like. "Ma?" Mario asked, his filled with fear.

"Why did you leave? Why couldn't you save us?" his 'mother' asked, as another figure, breathed down Mario's neck causing him to wanting to run away and scream, but his feet seemed glued to the ground the whole time.

Mario opened his mouth to answer, but no words left his lips. "Why did you leave us to die?" He looked out the corner of his eye to see a man that looked like a corpse version of his Pop. Their father looked just like Luigi; same dark-blue eyes, and bark-brown hair. "Why did you let Luigi die? Don't you remember your promise?" Pop continued, and moved aside to reveal a scratched and dying Luigi with brownish-red stains on his green clothes. He raced to his 'brother', while his biological parents disappeared into mid air but their insults still rang through the boy's ears as he cradled 'Luigi' in his arms.

He began to cry, while 'Luigi''s eyes turned black and as sinister purple, and a smile filled with black sharp teeth. "What a good brother you are," 'Luigi' said sarcastically, and Mario looked at his face and that sickening smile. "Shame your brother will never be any better than you," with that a white boo wearing a crown with a red ruby flew out of the Luigi-shaped puppet that Mario let drop to the ground.

"Boo!" Mario said and jumped at King Boo, but he floated away and Mario smacked his head against a tree branch.

"He such a shame that your sweet, baby brother will never be a recognized true hero," King Boo said, as Mario fell to the ground.

"What are you talking about?!" Mario madly cried, as he tried to grab the ghost only for his fingers to go right through him.

King Boo laughed a high pitched laugh, "Don't you know how everyone treats you brother?" and Mario stopped. He remembered how in school Luigi was always treated like a sidekick...a second player. Luigi never seemed to mind and hey he did save Mario from Bowser in the Real World, but no one gave him credit for that.

"He still does the right thing and that's what makes a true hero!" Mario cried, and his thoughts went towards his smiling brother and his laughter, that's when he let his anger diminish from his body, and notice a tiny a bit of light seep through the shadowy forest. He darted towards it, as King Boo continued mocking his brother, but he just remembered his brother and all their adventures as he jumped to the first branch and then the next until he was able to pull apart the gloomy leaves and the light caused King Boo to give a scream that rattled Mario's teeth and dropped the piece of the crest. Mario jumped down and grabbed the crest. He sighed in relief and made his way out of the forest.

Author's Note: These trials are gonna test their fears and anger. Up next is Luigi's trial.
