"I can't let you pass milady. King's orders."

Elena raises an eyebrow. "You know me, don't you? You saw me. You know what I'm capable of, don't you? Do you think it's wise to stand in my path?"

The guard gulps before moving aside. "Don't tell King Loki."

Elena nods and smiles sweetly. "Don't worry, I like you." Elena walks past the guard, stealthily swipes the keys, and walks down the stairs into the dungeon.

She passes several cells before stopping at the fourth cell before the last. She stands on her toes to look into the small barred window in the door. "I know you're probably pissed about the whole, making you weak thing, but I'm here to help. What do you say to helping me kick Loki's ass?"

After a moment she answers. "Release me."

Elena smiles and unlocks the cell door. She walks inside and releases the cuffs from around Sif's wrists. As Sif stands, Elena tosses her the keys.

"Release the others and meet me in the Throne room." Elena turns and walks to the door but pauses. "Oh and one more thing." Elena concentrates for a moment and with a flick of her wrist, restores the strength of the Asgardians. "You're strong again. I suggest you hurry before everyone else finds out too."

...

Loki sits on the Throne, fuming angrily. Elena walks into the room and Loki narrows his eyes.

"I do hope for your life, you have discovered a way to return what is mine."

Elena shakes her head. "Sorry, that's not why I'm here."

"Pity."

"For you."

Elena teleports Loki from the Throne, to stand a few feet away from Elena. Loki looks slightly alarmed as Elena casually approaches him. Loki narrows his eyes.

"You have broken the bond."

"Chris did. When they come, know that this isn't for stealing my power. That was to be expected. This is for hitting me." Elena narrows her eyes. "Nobody hits me."

"We had an arrangement..."

"Oh, we still do. If we didn't, I'd just turn you blue and call it a day, but since we're allies I'm cutting you a little slack."

Behind her, the imprisoned asgardians run into the throne room. Loki gets slightly wide eyed. Elena smirks. "You remember your friends? They're back to normal. But don't worry, your powers will be restored in...one hour." Elena turns and walks away. "Have fun."

Moments before she exits the room, Elena feels a twinge in the back of her head. She concentrates on it for a moment before getting wide eyed.

"You've gotta be kidding me..." She narrows her eyes. "I freakin told her not to move around during interdimensional travel!"

...

Kate dances to the beat of the music blasting from the speakers in her apartment. She closes her eyes and does a small spin before picking up the basket of laundry. With a slide and a twist, Kate makes her way down the hallway to the door at the end.

Kate knocks on her roommates door and sighs in annoyance after a few minutes. After she gets no response, Kate opens the door and walks inside. She sets the basket on top of her roommates bed and turns to leave.

However, before she reaches the door, she feels a drop of blood land on her shoulder. Kate raises an eyebrow and looks up to the ceiling. Her eyes widen in horror as she sees her roommate, dead, somehow stuck to the ceiling.

Kate gathers her thoughts after a few moments and dashes out of the room. She makes it into the kitchen and grabs her phone. She is moments away from hitting the send button and calling 911, when an unseen force flings her phone across the room.

Sensing a presence, Kate slowly turns around. She finds a man in black watching her with a sinister grin on his face. Kate raises an eyebrow in confusion.

"How did you do that? Are you Carrie or something?"

"You're taking the death of your roommate rather well."

Kate shrugs. "Ever since I got here, I've known something was up, I just didn't know what. Believe it or not, that's not the first dead body I've seen. So you can move things, why did you kill my roommate?"

The man smiles in amusement. "I'm impressed, you haven't even tried to go for the knives yet."

Kate narrows her eyes. "I've been swept off my feet enough times, and dealt with nutjobs enough times to know the game. You want me to run, to fight. We both know you're gonna kill me. The fact that I'm not dead yet means you want the sick enjoyment of teasing and hunting me down. If you're going to do something, get it over with. Sick son of a bitch."

The moment the words leave her mouth, Kate is flung across the room and pinned against the wall, her feet off the floor. The man casually walks over to stand a few feet away from Kate. He smiles smugly and tilts his head to the side.

"Now when did I say I was going to kill you?"

Kate looks at him in confusion. The man continues.

"Imagine my surprise, coming all the way to Georgia for a red headed hydrokinetic, only to look over and see a brunette appear out of thin air. Teleportation is an incredible gift, I think I'll keep you as my new toy."

Kate glares daggers at the man. "Go to hell."

"Foul language doesn't suit you. So, do you decline my generous offer?"

Kate smirks. "Congrats, looks like you have a brain after all."

The man raises a finger and smiles sinisterly. "You have no idea."

"Sylar."

Sylar pauses and turns around to face one very pissed off Elena. She crosses her arms.

"Put her down, she isn't special."

Behind Sylar Kate cries out in annoyance. "Hey!"

Elena's glare stops her from arguing further. Sylar raises an eyebrow at Elena.

"I've witnessed her ability firsthand."

Elena smirks. "Yeah, it took me a while to learn that trick." Sylar's face drops slightly and Elena continues. "Sending someone without touching them. Heck, I even screwed up. She wasn't even supposed to end up here. Don't mess with Kate, she'll waste your time. I'm the one with teleportation."

Sylar smirks. "Prove it. For all I know, you're lying for her."

Elena vanishes before reappearing in the kitchen a moment later. She smiles confidently.

"And that's not all I can do." Elena paces around the kitchen counter and walks past Sylar to stand beside Kate. She smiles calmly and continues. "If you want to see how I work, you'll have to get me first."

Sylar turns and walks away from the two sisters. Kate, still pinned to the wall, turns her head to look down at Elena. Kate gulps and whispers, "You know telekinesis...right?"

Elena purses her lips anxiously. "There's a big difference between moving fruit and flipping trucks."

"So how do we kill him?"

Elena sighs. "We don't. It's too risky. Even if I wanted to, who knows what consequences could stem from a death by an outside force such as myself? The dimensions are separate for a reason. Why do you think I'm the only one with my abilities?"

Kate groans in annoyance. "So you'll help...you know who, when it comes to taking over a world. No matter who gets hurt. But when its a matter of saving my ass, you'll be all diplomatic?! What the hell?!"

"I'm not going to explain balance to you."

Kate glances over across the room at Sylar, who has his back to the sisters. Kate whispers as quietly as possible. "He can hear us...can't he?"

Elena watches Sylar intently. "Yep."

"How can he do so much?"

Elena opens her mouth to speak but stops herself. Instead she responds with, "When we get out of this mess, we're having a heroes marathon."

Sylar looks at a purple vase on the kitchen table with quickly growing interest. "That implies you'll be surviving this encounter, doesn't it?"

Elena moves away from Kate. "What about that hydrokinetic? Shouldn't you be tracking her?"

Sylar turns to face Elena. "Neither of you deserve your gifts. I may have come for her, but you should hold me over for a day or two. The possibilities...your gift will be extremely useful in my quest."

Elena slowly makes her way to the middle of the room, away from Kate, all the while watching Sylar intently. "How many psychic's? Pyro's? Super senses? Teleportation must be hard to come by. And I'm your first, I'm honored."

Elena barely sees the vase flying towards Kate in time. As soon as she spots it, Elena uses telekinesis to fling it back at Sylar. He moves aside in time for it to woosh past him and break against the wall. He grins sinisterly and looks Elena dead in the eye.

"Oh, you're going to be fun."

Elena mentally swears as she sees the various knives from the kitchen rise into the air before they come flying across the room, at Elena. Elena momentarily panics and hides her face behind her arms. She squeezes her eyes shut in anticipation. After a moment of no impact, Elena hesitantly opens her eyes in tIke to see the last butcher knife bounce off an invisible force two inches from Elena's arms.

Noting Sylar's annoyed expression, Elena realizes what Loki had meant all those months ago when he spoke of her inability to sustain any fatal injuries. Thank you reality powers for the mystical forcefield of saving my ass...ness!

Elena pauses at her somewhat awkward thought before returning her attention to Sylar. The moment that their eyes lock, Sylar smirks and lifts his hand. Instantly, Elena is flung across the room before being pinned against the wall.

As Elena stands, she hisses at the throbbing pain in her ribs, due to being tossed around twice in less than a month. She teleports herself into the living room and smirks before teleporting herself to the front door. With a last glance back, Elena flings the door open and dashes out of the apartment.

...

Elena stops running after a few blocks. She gasps to catch her breath and looks around anxiously. She had stopped at the front entrance to a mall. Once Elena catches her breath, she double checks to ensure she was alone before walking through the automatic door into the mall.

Once inside, Elena makes a hair band appear in her hand. She pulls her hair into a ponytail then changes her red tshirt to a black tank top. She glances down at her jeans thoughtfully before switching them out for a pair of shorts. For better mobility and whatnot.

Elena strides over to the escalator and rides it to the second floor. After she gets off, Elena stealthily slips into a movie store.

Sylar gets off the escalator and looks around, searching for Elena. Elena ducks behind a movie cut out for an upcoming superhero movie. She calms her breathing and relaxes. When she closes her eyes, Elena pictures something pleasant. When she opens her eyes, she notices a few shoppers staring at her.

One woman whispers something to who appears to be her boyfriend and Elena mentally swears.

Theres a beat before the cut out behind Elena is tossed aside, exposing her. She gulps and slowly turns around. Elena instantly spots Sylar at the entrance of the door. Sylar smirks and silently motions for Elena to come to him. Elena glances around at the several shoppers watching her warily.

Elena purses her lips in frustration before casually making her way over to Sylar. When she reaches him, he intertwines his fingers with her right hand. He begins to walk away from the store, forcing Elena to walk with him. She tries to pull away but is unable to escape his death grip on her hand. Sylar looks over at Elena and smiles smugly.

"What's wrong? If you want to leave, use your ability."

Elena shoots him a look and Sylar continues.

"Can't you teleport just yourself? Or have you not mastered that while touching another? You sent you sister without touch, can you do the opposite? Get away from me?"

Elena concentrates for a few moments and both her and Sylar vanish from the mall.

They appear in a grassy field a few states away. Elena glares daggers at Sylar and tries to pull her hand away once more, to no prevail. She sighs and looks over at Sylar in annoyance.

"I can do many things, don't force me to take away what makes you special."

Sylar frowns after a moment before releasing his grip. Elena crosses her arms and turns to face Sylar. He looks at Elena in growing interest.

"Interesting, you aren't lying."

Elena nods. "I only let you get this far for two reasons. One, I don't want to risk a change as great as removing your powers. And two...I might want to come back here, and if I made a scene..."

"You'd be hunted down, locked away, poked and prodded."

Elena nods. "I know they wouldn't get very far, but I still don't wanna risk it." She smirks. "My abilities, they come from an outside source. I was chosen on some cosmic level. I wasn't born with this. My abilities are focused in the form of my bracelet, but they only work for me. So in not so many words, you can't get my abilities, even if you could cut my head open."

Sylar's face drops and he raises his hand. Elena gasps as the pressure on her windpipe increases. Sylar glares at Elena.

"I don't enjoy having my time wasted."

As Sylar delivers the final blow, an invisible force knocks Sylar back several yards. Elena gasps and rubs her now bruising neck. Elena chuckles.

"Now here's what's going to happen. I'm gonna take you back to Georgia, then I'm going to send Kate back home. Consider me allowing you to remain special a favor, one day, I'll come to collect."

Sylar raises an eyebrow. "Why?"

"You get farther with honey than vinegar. My mother told me that when I was little. Bit of a bitch, but she was smart."

Sylar stands. "What reason do you have for believing your abilities weren't written in your genetic code?"

"Without the bracelet, I can't do much of anything, and its useless to anyone else."

"Why a bracelet? Why not something permanent? A tattoo for example?"

Elena frowns. "It's a long story."

Sylar smirks. "Well, I'm not going anywhere."

...

Eight years ago...

Elena hums to herself as she cuts the dolls hair. After a few more cuts, Elena sets down the scissors and closely examines the doll. Behind her she hears a high pitched scream of anger.

"Daddy!"

Elena's face drops and she turns to face Kate, standing at the doorway. The girls' father enters the room.

"What is it?"

Kate points to Elena. "Loli is being scary again."

Elena huffs. "My name is Elena, not Loli."

Kate's eyes begin to well up. "She cut Sam's hair!"

Elena'a father sighs. "Elena Claire, why the hell were you cutting off the dolls hair?"

Elena shrugs. "I wanted to make her different."

"You're grounded for two weeks. Apologize to your sister, I'm gonna take a nap."

Elena's father leaves and Kate glares at her sister. "You're gonna pay."

With that, Kate runs over to Elena's jewelry box and opens it. She pulls out a silver bracelet and shows it to her sister.

"I wonder how it flushes?"

Elena jumps up and grabs at the bracelet. Kate dashes out of the room with Elena running behind her. Elena cries out.

"Give it back, Mom gave that to me!"

Kate makes it to the bathroom and slams the door. She locks it behind her. Elena screams and pounds against the door, to no prevail. After a minute, Elena runs into the kitchen. She pulls open a drawer and grabs a screwdriver lying on top. As shes running back to the bathroom, she hears a flush.

...

Present day...

"That's the last I ever saw of it. My mom gave it to me before..."

...

Elena appears beside Kate on the couch in the apartment. Elena gently lifts Kate's shirt to reveal several bruises blossoming along her torso. Elena gently runs her fingers over one of Kate's ribs and Kate cries out in response.

"One of them is broken. I need to fix it before it causes further damage, hold still."

Elena closes her eyes and focuses on the rib. After a few minutes she relaxes, somewhat winded from the effort. Kate looks at her expectantly.

"Well?"

"It's still damaged, but it isn't broken. I can only heal cosmetically and minor injuries. You need to rest for the next couple of months."

"When can I go home?"

"What are you doing right now?"

...

Chris stands behind Elena with his arms wrapped around her lovingly. Elena sighs happily as they watch the sun set over the ocean.

"It's beautiful."

"Second most beautiful thing about this beach."

Elena smirks and playfully pulls away from his grasp. "Don't exaggerate."

Chris turns Elena to face him. "I'm not. In fact, I'm going to give you everything you deserve."

Elena raises an eyebrow. "What...?"

Chris gently strokes Elena's cheek and smiles lovingly. "Don't you see? It's all for you."

Elena gets slightly wide eyed in alarm. "What do you mean?"

"Humanity is revolting. Unfortunately, it's just the tip of the iceberg. Every intelligent life is only good for destruction."

Elena rolls her eyes and nods. "We already covered this whole, intelligent life is cruel and destructive thing."

Chris smirks. "I'll skip to the point... You are perfect. Beautiful, merciful, like minded... It will take time for you to adjust, but you'll come to bask in your gift."

"My...gift?"

"It's a surprise..."

Elena smiles flirtatiously. "Please? Don't leave me in suspense...please tell me."

Chris smiles lovingly. "You're perfect."

Elena blushes. "No, I'm not."

"Of corse you are. You're the one. They were failures, but you...you're the only one."

Elena raises an eyebrow, her smile dropping. "Chris? What's going on?"

"I've been waiting a long time, but now I have you."

Elena gulps. "Chris?"

"You were the only one like me."

"Chris? What is my...gift?"

Chris smiles excitedly. "I'm doing all this, every disgusting useless life, erased, all for you."

Elena takes a step back, away from Chris. "No."

He nods and closes the space between them.

"I've despised them for some time now. It began with the humans. They are the worst. But the rest, every creature, every intelligent life, is useless and wasteful. So I began to think, what should I do? How could I save reality, for good? The plan came to me shortly after I saw you the first time."

Elena's bracelet begins to glow. Chris notes this and takes her hand in both of his. Elena is too afraid to try to pull away. Chris continues.

"You were younger, only sixteen. But I KNEW you were special. Sure enough, one night you gained your abilities, the power chose you. I've been in love ever since I first laid eyes on you, Elena. Ten years I haven't aged. Ten years I was waiting...for what I didn't know. You were the muse I needed for the plan to take shape. I would destroy the lives that were only good for destruction. Once that is done, I'll prove my love. All of reality, will be ours. We'll enjoy rather than kill and destroy. No more protecting reality from the worthless lives within."

Elena forces a smile. "Um...I don't know what to say." She pulls her phone out and glances at the screen. "Oh crap! I need to go!" She turns back to Chris, pulls her hand from his, and pecks him on the cheek before she vanishes.

A/N: Well, I'm sick. Not even usual sick. I've been really dizzy lately, but don't worry! I've already got the next few chapters ready to go. So, because I'm more lucid today, I might update a day early.

Next time...where did she go?...
