Court is even more unstable with the war over, boundaries and estates changing hands like hot cakes on market day. At Fai's questioning look, they detour to the mage's wing.
Cairu's assistant hands over a letter, a book and a bag of stones. Any questions Fai might have had he keeps to himself; the assistant doesn't meet his eyes and shuffles off immediately.
Though Fai's tempted to see what Cairu has left for him, Leiyos dumps them in his pack and hustles him back outside.
