BlackLynx17: I'm going to stop talking about when the story ends because last chapter so many people thought that was the ending. I'm sorry. I'm an idiot. Please forgive me? I've gotten my spirit back for this story and I just love it so much! I love FT so much more now that the season has restarted! Has anyone seen the new ending? If you haven't watch it. Dragon's Secret

Little Lucy was seven years, two weeks, thirteen days, and two minutes old when she felt like she was sleeping on a cloud. Her eyes were closed and she breathed in and out softly, her chest barely raising up and down. Hands, gently fingers, weaved through her hair and filled her with warmth. It took her a while to realize that those were hands or to realize that she was being petted. Slowly she blinked open her eyes and found herself lying on someone's lap. She just barely turned her head to look up.
"Natsu?" She whispered.
Natsu didn't say anything, just grunted softly.
"What're doing?" She asked.
"Nothing much."
Lucy laughed softly, closing her eyes again.
"Should I get off?"
"Do you want too?"
Things got quiet, Natsu took that as a no. He continued to pet her hair, ignoring the fact that his legs were slowly going numb. Igneel had watched him for a little while but Natsu had just shrugged at him and looked back down at Lucy. Thinking back when they first met each other, Natsu hated her. He didn't even know she was different than him, that she was a girl and not a dragon. Time passed on though and things changed. Lucy was a girl, a dragon girl. She was nice to him and smiled and laughed all the time. She was different than other girls, though he didn't know a lot of girls to begin with.
Igneel said to do nothing about the love so Natsu was doing nothing. Things were normal, as normal as they'd ever be. Sure Natsu was nicer to Lucy now than he was before, that was about all though. They fought, they ate together, they learned, they played, they did a lot of things. This would be all they were going to be doing until they set off on an adventure. Natsu has yet to beat Igneel yet so it didn't seem anytime soon, but one day they would leave. When that day would come Natsu would see more humans, just like Lucy.
He would have to learn more about humans. Lucy was originally human before she came to live with them and she loved humans. Natsu wasn't human, though thanks to Lucy he was starting to act like one. There were things he didn't know though and had to learn. Hopefully their journey would teach him. Hopefully Lucy would fall in love with him on this adventure while he learned.
Natsu watched her sleep, a cool breeze flying pass them. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
Lucy awoke to Natsu looking down at her, his eyes closed with a bubble coming out of his nose. She giggled and leaned up, pressing Natsu down gently so he could be lying down as he slept. She was surprised Natsu was able to fall asleep that way; Lucy would never been able to do it like that. She smiled as she flicked his ear and started playing with his salmon colored hair.
"Lucy."
She heard her name in a whisper; Lucy looked back and saw her Father staying down at her. She suddenly felt very scared; she didn't like the looks in his eyes.
"Yes Papa?" She asked.
"We need to talk dear." He said closing his eyes slightly.
Lucy gulped and nodded as she got up and walked towards him, standing with her hands behind her back in front of him.
"Lucy, I'm sorry dear but... but I can't have you returning home."
Her eyes widened in the slightest, "what do you mean? I thought I was staying here anyway?"
"No Lucy, I mean ever. I can't have you leave Natsu ever."
Lucy's eyes scrunched together, "Papa?"
"I'm going to tell you something dear and it will all make sense, you need to swear to me you won't tell Natsu. Swear Lucy." Igneel said leaning down to her level.
"I swear Papa, but you're scaring me." She said as tears formed in her eyes.
"There's no need to be scared little one, you need to listen carefully though. Soon, very soon... I'm going to be leaving Natsu and I'm not... I'm not going to be coming back."
Lucy's eyes widened, she inhaled a huge breath to start yelling but Igneel nudged her off her feet so she would pause.
"You can't tell Natsu and I can't tell either of you the reasons. The truth was that, the plan was that you were going to go home to your family and then I was going to leave."
"But what about Natsu?"
"Natsu was going to be by himself. Lucy I brought you here to train Natsu, to prepare him for the journey that lies ahead of him. I had you teach him things so he would be able to survive in a human village."
"I don't understand why Papa? Why must we leave him?"
"I must leave him Lucy, but you don't have to. I'm not going to let you anymore Lucy because Natsu... Natsu loves you. He loves you just as much as he loves me. If he didn't love you things would be easier, but he does. He won't be able to handle if we both just left his lives. I'm sorry Lucy, but you're going to have to stay with him. I can't, Natsu won't be able too, I'm going to hurt him. I know I am, he might end up hating me but I must do what is right. But you- I don't want him hating you. I don't want him to be alone! So please, please Lucy. Please don't leave Natsu, please. I'm begging you daughter. Be there for my son."
Lucy didn't know what to say so she cried instead. She cried and cried and Igneel even shed a tear at the thought of his son being abandoned.
"I'll- I'll, I promise I'll be there for him Igneel. I love Natsu too and if you really have to go, I don't want him being by himself. I don't want my Natsu suffering. I'll stay here with him, we'll go on adventures after you leave and I'll make sure Natsu doesn't hate you. I promise. We'll go looking for you." Lucy said.
It broke Igneel's heart, it really did.
"I love you daughter; I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry as well Papa. All we both want is for Natsu to be happy, for nothing to ever happen to him. He means so much to me, has done so much for me... I'd hate to leave him when he needs me most."
"But your parents-"
"Will have to wait. Like I said Natsu and I will find you and once we do I'll return to them, I'll also return to you guys as well. Remember? We're all connected. All long as I wear this bracelet you gave us then I know we'll find each other again." Lucy said holding her arm up.
"I love you two very much daughter."
"We love you too Papa."
The two of then turned to Natsu and watched him sleep. He had no idea what was going on between the two of them and how much he was actually loved by them. Completely no idea as he continued to snooze away, dreaming about eating meat.
