Here's to another update! Muwahah! I hope you guys enjoy, but just as a side note, battle scenes aren't my forte at writing so if you are reading and have any suggestions to help out my actions scenes I would be most appreciative!
Yuki had found her resolve; she was the spirit line.
You are the Queen of Las Noches, you musn't falter now…
She attacked the captain head on. Her heart was in pain with every swing of her blade. But she pushed past it, I can't falter here…
Hitsugaya felt like he was going mad. It appeared at Yuki had a vengeance out for him…but who wouldn't hold a grudge against their killer. His mind was buzzing, how is she alive? There is no way she could be alive! The more pressing matter; however, was her reiatsu. If Hitsugaya closed his eyes, he felt like it was Aizen in front of him, the image of Yuki always startled him. Is this some kind of trick…Aizen's zanpaktou maybe?! Hitsugaya threw all of his hope into that small idea. He hoped that it was Aizen that he was fighting and not Yuki. If it were Aizen, he could finish the fight…but if it's Yuki….
He pushed the thoughts out of his head, it didn't matter if he was fighting Aizen or Yuki. He was fighting. He needed to focus on the fight.
Under Las Noches
The group was running. Kira was trying to heal Kyourane-taicho while they ran, it was difficult, but manageable.
"Well, well, well…I guess I got lucky," Shuuhei stopped to see Shima Akuma standing in the hallway in front of them, "So you're still alive huh, Shuuhei?" he shuddered at the sound of her voice. She was no longer a beautiful distraction, Shuuhei saw her for what she was…a demon, "Well, I won't make the same mistake,"
Suddenly Enkimura shunpo'd to her left and landed a kick. Even though she had set up a kidou barrier, he hit with such a force that she was thrown into the wall, "HURRY! I'll take care of her, you all keep going!" Shuuhei nodded at the 7th captain and ran off. Good luck, Enkimura-taicho.
"You…" Akuma pulled herself from the rubble, "Enkimura Shirou…"
"I'll consider myself honored," he pulled out his sword and prepared for her attack, "that a beauty such as yourself would remember my name,"
She growled and there were several blue fire balls headed for him.
Shuuhei turned back to look down the hall at the sound of an explosion. He hoped that Enkimura would be able to win when he could not.
"Shuuhei…" Chou's voice was stable, "I can walk, Kira has done an excellent job…"
He set her down as gently as he could. Chou took a few moments to stretch before they all set off again. Shuuhei kept his eyes on her, he would need to be fast if she wasn't fully healed.
Rangiku stopped and looked up, her eyes wide.
"Rangiku-san?" Kira called to her, "What's wrong?"
"Taicho…he's fighting…" she looked worried.
"What do you mean?"
Chou suddenly gasped, "A-a-aizen?"
Shuuhei concentrated, it was true. He could feel Hitsugaya-taicho's reiatsu…and he could feel Aizen's reiatsu…or was it Aizen…? He couldn't be sure.
"Come on! We have to keep moving if we want to help him,"
Hitsugaya couldn't push the thoughts out of his head. He felt like Yuki was fighting a stranger…how could she not know me….? He decided to test it, "Yuki how can you fight me? How can you raise your blade against me, your brother?!"
Yuki didn't hesitate, "You are not my brother, you are a killer…you are an enemy!" Yuki saw the face of her brother clearly in her head; Abarai Renji. He was testing her…he knew that something was wrong and was trying to figure it out. She cursed herself in her head, Why don't I know your name?!
It will come…I'm sure you just need to allow it time.
She was impatient. She wanted to know now! She didn't care anymore. The thought of not knowing his name was driving her crazy. She jumped away from him, "Tell me your name,"
Hitsugaya felt his heart try to jump from his chest. She had forgotten him. She no longer recognizes him as anything but her killer….perhaps that was all he ever was. He didn't need to be any more to her…he was her killer. He had never done anything more. Hitsugaya bit back all of his emotions. They would only get in the way, "What would it matter? Does it bother you to not know the name of your killer?" he took an attacking stance, "Too bad I'll have to kill you a second time," he called out to Hyorinmaru. His heart ached, how could I say those things to her…He had to hold back his emotions. He didn't want her to remember his betrayal….he couldn't let her remember him like that…he would rather just be her killer, than the man that betrayed her.
Enkimura was thrown through a wall, he fell into a pile of sand, the blue sky above him. So this is the fake sky of Las Noches…He didn't have time to admire the view, he scrambled to his feet and dodged Akuma's follow up attack. He was breathing heavy, his hair had fallen out into his face, mixing with the blood and sand, "You seem pretty upset, did I do something?"
Akuma jumped outside from the hole in the wall. Her eyes fixed on Enkimura. She was abnormally upset. Shikkyaku was out of his restraints in his soul room, he whispering to her, riling her up.
He dare attack you? Does he think he could beat the almighty Akuma? Does he wish to die?
She walked over to him with heavy steps. She drew her sword. Yes, yes! Let's kill him together!
Enkimura feared her sword, it was a wild, untamed power. "Avenge, Ishtar!" He released his sword just in time to block the heavy blow. How is she so strong with just a katana? The sword fight began. It was clear that she was not as comfortable with sword fighting as she was with kidou, but she still managed to push Enkimura back. Their swords were crossed, neither one giving up, both pushing hard against their blades. Enkimura grinned and a bolt of lightning came from his sword and grazed the top of Akuma's shoulder. She jumped back holding her shoulder. Enkimura grinned.
"What was that?" Akuma was holding her shoulder, her left arm no longer moved the way she wanted it to.
"Oh you didn't know? My Ishtar is a Goddess, anything she touches belongs to her," he pointed to her arm, "Your arm now worships my Ishtar,"
Akuma rolled her eyes, "Spare me the religion," she came back of an attack. Enkimura smirked, he knew that Akuma's arm would try to protect Ishtar from any attack. Akuma grinned back, she knew that her arm was going to protect him, it was obvious. She came down for an attack, Enkimura was so confident, he didn't even try to dodge or defend himself. Her left arm began to move on its own to take the damage, she quickly turned her sword and stabbed it through her hand and continued to the drive the sword into Enkimura's collar bone. The look of shock on his face was enough for Akuma. She jumped back as Enkimura swung Ishtar to hit her again.
Her grin was wild and it made Enkimura sick. He looked at the wound on his collar bone, he never expected her to be crazy enough to use her own arm as a guide for an attack.
"Did you like that?" she set her now bloody sword in the air in front of her, "then you'll love this, Soozoo suru, Shikkyaku! " The sword vanished and she immediately began to construct a kidou that wrapped around her left arm. Enkimura ran in to attack, he couldn't let her take away his only advantage. She held out her other hand and deflected his attack with another kidou, never taking her eyes off of her left arm.
The kidou was complete, her arms was covered in a yellow kidou, it was similar to a way of binding. Akuma smiled, she was able to still use her arm by making the kidou move. It would take a little concentration, but she could spare it.
Enkimura watched as Akuma regained control over her arm. He was outmatched. But he needed to win. Akuma dove forward to attack. Enkimura sighed and dropped Ishtar into the ground, "Shock," Akuma suddenly dove head first into a field of electricity. Her whole body felt jolted and she fell to the ground twitching as the electricity ran around her body wildly. Enkimura stood above her, his sword once again in hand, he held it above her chest, "Shock" he dropped the sword and Akuma just barely was able to shunpo away from the blade.
A safe distance away she tried to stand, her body twitching and jolting, unable to rib herself of the electricity in her body. She started to think of a kidou, perhaps if she made some type of kidou that took energy from her body into an attack. She started to form the kidou, yet nothing was happening. What? She tried to do simple kidou, a blue fire ball, a strike of lightning…anything! Nothing would work. She slammed her jittery fist into the ground.
"You can't use kidou anymore, " Akuma glared at Enkimura with a such extreme anger, "The path that reiatsu takes to form kidou has been paralyzed. That's what 'Shock' does. It cuts of your reiatsu from becoming usable," he walked over calmly to her. It pissed her off. How dare he think that he had won.
Look at him…he thinks that he's won over you…I'll make you a deal Akuma…let me out at him. Use me in your bankai. Let me fight him and show him your true power. If you do…I'll be a good litte zanpaktou that stays quiet. Just let me at him…Shikkyaku's voice was wet and greedy, I wanna take him out!
Akuma, now getting her body under control, stood up and grinned at him, "Maybe we should get serious,"
Under Las Noches
"Look I told you it was a short cut!" Nnoitora yelled at Nel while pointing at the Shinigami who had just ran up the hallway to them.
Nel just nodded, "We wouldn't have had to chase them down if you didn't create an escape for them in the first place!" Nnoitora mumbled to himself and crossed his arms in front of his chest.
Suuhei looked over at Chou, he didn't want her to have to stay here and fight…she needed to continue.
Rangiku spoke up first, "Kyourane-taicho, Renji, you two go on ahead, the three of us can-" suddenly Nnoitora's sword was stuck into her side.
"Shut up woman! The five of you can't even handle us!" he pulled his sword back. Rangiku fell tragically to the ground, blood began to pool around her immediately.
"Rangiku-san!" Kira screamed and quickly pulled out his sword to defend himself from Nnoitora's next swing. Kira's eyes were alive with anger.
"Oh, you managed to block?" Nnoitora grinned, "Maybe you can entertain me for a while,"
Nel jumped in front of Chou and threw her hand out to impale Chou with her hand. Her hand met Zabimaru.
"Chou-taicho!" Renji was using a lot of his strength to hold back Nel's attack, "You two hurry and get to Hitsugaya-taicho!" Chou and Shuuhei nodded before they ran off down the hallway.
"You don't really think you can stop me do you?" Nel's face turned to Renji. He knew he didn't have time to dilly-dally. He was fighting an espada. He needed to go all out, "Bankai, Hihio Zabimaru!" he didn't really realize that the hallway they were in was too small for his bankai. Hihiho Zabimaru crashed through the walls and Renji escaped the building before the ceiling fell out. The other three were right behind him. Renji looked over to see that Kira already had Wabisuke out. Renji smirked, Kira wasn't very strong, but his abilities were great against strength-heavy opponents.
"Where do you think you're looking?" Nel rushed forward and attacked, "You should be worried about your friend; Nnoitora doesn't play nicely,"
Chou was running, Shuuhei was by her side; her mind was heavy. Enkimura was fighting Akuma, Rangiku had already fallen and now Kira was the only one fighting him. Then there was Renji…he was fighting Nelliel, she was a powerful opponent.
"Taicho, I think there's an exit up ahead!" Chou looked forward and saw the hallway take a steep slope upward. The slope led up to what looked like the throne room. Chou saw her, Minji Yuki. Wasn't he fighting Aizen? How is it Minji Yuki who stands there? Chou felt a rage build up. It was Minji Yuki who had killed Michi…she wanted her revenge.
"MINJI!" Chou pulled out her sword and quickly went in to attack, Yuki turned at the voice and smirked to see Chou. She turned back to Hitsugaya and grinned. Yuki pushed off the balls of her feet straight to Chou, she grabbed her by the throat and threw Chou at Hitsugaya. The two fell down and Yuki laughed at the sight of them.
"What a pleasant surprise to see you Chou, I worried someone would kill you before I got to have my way with you," Yuki looked back to see Shuuhei was running over, "Pathetic," Yuki raised her reiatsu and Shuuhei fell pinned to the ground.
"Taicho!" he tried to get up against the pressure.
"Oh you can still fight that much?" Yuki walked over to him, "Maybe I misjudged you. How about this…" she stretched out her hand and a golden cero began to form in front of the tips of her fingers, "I'll let you live if you can survive this…"
Shuuhei was helpless, he couldn't pull himself to his feet against the reiatsu. He stared into the gold cero that was forming just before his eyes. He was going to die. He had come so far, he had survived once, he had saved Chou once. Maybe that was all he was meant to do here…is this the end for Hiisagi Shuuehi?
Chou stood and ran over, "Shuuhei!" Yuki smirked, the cero fired from her fingertips but it curved around her and headed for Chou. Hitsugaya jumped in front of Chou and covered them both in his ice shell defense.
"Tsk, taking all the fun out of it…" Yuki kicked Shuuhei across the room, he broke the wall behind him and fell on the floor.
Still inside the ice shell, Hitsugaya turned to Chou quickly, "Listen to me Kyourane-taicho, you must not say my name. No Hitsugaya, no Toshirou. You mustn't say any of it," The shell cracked and Hitsugaya turned to glare at Yuki.
Chou didn't understand, but she would listen to his request. She would only call him 'Taicho,' she wouldn't mess up whatever plan he had in place.
Yuki grinned and ran in for another attack, but her arm was grabbed, "Yuki," Grimmjow was look at her with a wild smile that she recognized, "Allow me to step in,"
Yuki grinned and pulled her arm away, "The girl is mine; have all the fun you'd like with him," Yuki lunged forward for Chou. She wanted Chou, all her time in Soul Society, Chou was the biggest pain. Chou hated Yuki so much, she got Yuki in trouble; she dared to spill a drink on her. Yuki would get her revenge.
Chou couldn't have been more thrilled with Yuki's decision. Chou wanted to take her revenge from Yuki for herself. She needed to get rid of the sore that took Michi from this world. Chou blocked the attack and the two stood in a lock, both of their eyes on fire at the prospect of revenge. Both pushing against the other. It was a type of hatred that Chou didn't know she could hold for someone. It was the hatred that Yuki had always wanted to have, Chou was her rival. A battle between a King and Queen for power.
Grimmjow knew that he needed to get Yuki away from this white haired bastard. Besides, Grimmjow had a score to settle with that bastard. He dared to try and kill Yuki, Grimmjow would make him pay.
Hitsugaya glared at Grimmjow. This is the father to Raiden…this is the man that claim to own Yuki…this is the man that dares to keep her from me…Hitsugaya knew that if he ever wanted Yuki back, he would have to get rid of Grimmjow. He was between Hitsugaya and Yuki. It's his fault that she left!
The battles raged on.
