Story from Dream Web

So! Another update... I took a while pondering on how should I write this chapter... Literally, every sentence had been changed on or two times.

Anyway, the next chapter will be Life of the lone wolf chapter, and it will be kind of dark...

Hope you still like my story, I will be out for two weeks. The midterm exam was coming... And I don't want to fail on any class...

Cabin

"So… It seems we have to continue this topic later." Humphrey said.

"I guess so, we must go now. Before any human sees us." Katherine said, and prepared to run back.

"The door is open." Humphrey pointed out. "And I couldn't pick up any scent or hear anything either."

"SO?"

"Let say this in another way. If there are Human inside we won't get up this far." Humphrey said and point his head to that cabin. "I will noticed in a short time."

Katherine stared at Humphrey. "And? What do you want to do?"

Humphrey looked to that cabin. It felt weird. He actually wanted to go inside which was a very abnormal feeling.

"I don't know… will you believe me if I tell you I want to go into that cabin." He said.

"Then we should really go now." Katherine said. "I am feeling that too. It's creepy."

Humphrey tuned to Katherine and squinted.

"Really?" Humphrey asked.

"Yea… creepy." She said again.

"So… what should we do?" He asked.

"Of course we leave." Katherine said. "What else do you expect?"

"I have a feeling that if I didn't get inside and take a look… I will regret…" Humphrey said. "It's odd."

"Eh… I start to have the same feeling too… Why?" Katherine was kind of frightened when she found out that she was having the same feeling after she heard Humphrey's word.

"I think I know why… That bird man…" Humphrey said with an angry face.

He started to walk towards that cabin.

"What are you doing?" Katherine asked. "We should leave!"

Humphrey stopped. But soon start walking again. He turned his head back

"I can't control my body." He said with a gloomy face. "There was something inside, pulling me."

"What?... Oh!" Katherine can feel that pull now. She made a step forward. "It's happening to me too!"

"Fight it!" Humphrey said. He was now trying very hard on stoping himself.

"It's hard." Kathrine said. "No! It's not just hard. It's impossible!"

" I know… I am same with you." Humphrey said.

Two wolves getting closer to that cabin step by step. At the end they stopped in front of that door.

"It's gone." Humphrey said. "Let's leave this place."

Humphrey didn't have time to think why that forcing power was gone, he really wanted to left this place.

"Really that hurry?" A soft voice said behind them.

Even thought the tone was a little different, Humphrey still recognized that voice.

"G!" Humphrey said slowly and turned around.

What he saw was an angel with only one wing, pure white wing.

"Please call me Gabriel." That angel said. "G isn't my name."

"… You are not G?" Humphrey asked with suspicion.

They looked exactly the same, but the feeling wasn't the same. The feeling of evil was gone.

"I am." Gabriel shook his head and said. "It's not that simple, but we are the same."

We? Humphrey caught the key word.

"What was that mean?" Katherine made a step and asked. "Your word was confusing."

"I am sorry, I can't explain much." Gabriel said with apologetic face. "Or I will have to wash your memory."

Humphrey and Katherine looked at him with alertness. What Gabriel had just said sounds not very friendly.

"OK… Why are you here?" Humphrey asked again.

"And why we can't control ourself when we see this place?" Katherine asked and point her head to that cabin door.

"You will want to see what's inside." Gabriel answered. "There will be no danger inside."

Then he vanished in a flash.

"SO what was he here for?" Humphrey shouted.

"No idea… He looks different." Katherine said.

"Looks different, but did the same thing." Humphrey ridiculed.

They turned back to that cabin, staring at the door. No one talked.

"So… What should we do?" After a while Humphrey calmed down and asked.

"I don't know I thought you are the one who make the decision." Katherine said.

"Am I?" Humphrey asked back.

Katherine nodded.

"Ok…" Humphrey turned back and started to check this place closely.

"I have a weird feeling about this place." He said "After looking closer… It feels like I was here before."

"Really?" Katherine started to look around. "Haybe…oh…"

She stared at the doorknob.

"What's that?" Humphrey asked.

"Believe or not… I have seen this before…" Katherine said with confused.

They felt into silence…

"This place is creepy, we should hurry." Katherine stood up with her rear leg and opened the door with her mouth.

"Wait!" Humphrey grabbed Katherine's tail and pulled her back.

"Hey! Stop it!" Katherine yelled in pain. "Never pull a lady's tail!"

Humphrey let go.

"Why do you open the door?" he asked.

"Eh…" Katherine froze when she thought about that. "… Yes… why?"

"I am starting to hate this." Humphrey said and walked in. "That angel is affecting us. And I don't like it."

Katherine didn't follow Humphrey walk in.

"Now… what are you doing?" She asked.

"If that angel want we get in here so bad. I will want to know why." Humphrey answered.

Katherine looked up to the Plaque next to the door. She didn't remember that plaque was there when they arrived…

Observation Station

XXX University, Department of Ecology

Creepy… Katherine thought and caught up with Humphrey, walking into that door.

Kate and Anne were looking at each other now with a deer's body between of them.

"Want to hear what I think?" Anne asked.

"Say it…" Kate nodded slowly. She was in panic.

"This is surly abnormal, but compared with that you are back from the future… this is nothing!" Anne said. "I mean… if you can travel through the time… what else can't happen?"

Hearing this Kate start to calm a little.

"So… was… here… for?" A dim sound came from the hill.

"Is that My Humphrey?" Anne asked.

Why was he there?

"I think it is, but I don't know why he was there." Kate shook her head and looked down at that deer body. "What should we do with this?"

"That's our lunch! Of course we eat it." Anne answered.

"No… I mean… Oh…" Kate's body started to shake again. Seeing that deer made she recalled what had just happened to her.

"Hey! Don't be panic!" Anne noticed that immediately. "Everything is going to be ok."

"Sorry… I… I just don't know what happened to me." Kate said. "I hate to be like this, so weak."

Anne didn't know how to answer.

"At least what you can do wasn't that bad." Anne said. "And actually it was kind of cool."

"No… invisible or something wasn't the problem…" Kate lay down and covered her face with her paw.

"Can't you get it? I had become weak… And I think I will stay like this forever."

Anne felt sorry for Kate, but she had no idea how to comfort her.

"You know… I was an omega…" Anne said slowly. "If I can become an Alpha. Why can't you? You just need to find back your old self."

Kate moved her paw away. She wasn't crying, but very close to that.

"But… how?" She asked quietly with red eyes. "Rank can't be changed! That's the pack's law."

Seeing Kate was distracted. Anne thought a little and continued her story.

"You know… Alpha can't fall in love with an Omega, And usually they won't. But I fell in love with Jason, Humphrey's father." Anne said. "I mean we… fell in love."

"You are… Too?" Kate was now in shock.

"It seems like this was genetic." Anne nodded with a smile.

"So you took the alpha training?" Kate asked. "Is that allowed?"

A tear drop fell out of her eye. She cried, eventually.

"If that's allowed why nobody tell me then? If that's allowed, everything won't happen."

"Hey… don't cry." Anne was flustered when she saw Kate was weeping again. "And I thought you can't be with Humphrey was because you have to unite the pack." (Fail!)

Kate looked like was smashed by something. "So you mean this is my destiny?" She asked with despair in her eyes.

Why did you say that you idiot! Anne yelled to herself in her head.

"No!" Anne said certainly. "I was saying that you had no choice. That's not your fault."

"I don't know…" Kate said. "Please not again."

"What?" Anne asked.

"Nothing." Kate said. "My mood seems are very unstable."

Anne gave her a minute.

"So… what happen next? You and… Jason?" Kate asked.

"Well… not really a happy ending." Anne said. "We can talk about this in another time."

"Sure… if you don't want to talk about this…" Kate nodded.

"No… It is fine for me." Anne said and walked to their lunch. "Just… We better starting to drag this thing up to the hill and find them. It is not smart to leave the food at one place too long."

"This place was clean." Humphrey said. He looked at each object in the room. Though he didn't know what did they do, he still could tell they are organized well.

The cabin only had one bathroom and one main room. The main room was big. There all of the furnitures were agent the wall. Make a big empty in the middle of the room.

"Hey! Is this the map… of our pack?" Katherine asked, pointing at a map which was pinned on the wall.

Humphrey walked to her side and looked at that map.

The title of that map was 'Jasper National Park' But there were marks all over it. Lines were drawn out the region of western pack's territory, and some marks marked out every important place in the pack.

Humphrey stared at a circle with a label 'main den' next to it. "They are researching us."

"Hey! See what I found." Katherine said and point to the ceiling. There was a rope hanged in there. Humphrey jumped up and pulled that rope.

The ceiling opened with a ladder expand down.

While Humphrey was still in shock of human's design, Katherine started to climb it.

"It is kind of hard." Katherine said while she was trying to pull herself up. "And it must seem dumb and ugly."

Finally, they both get up to the roof top.

There was a small tower.

And a ladder again.

"I started to hate this." Humphrey said, while Katherine started to climb again.

Why didn't I see this when I was outside? Humphrey wondered.

"Wait!" Humphrey sudden remembered one thing.

"Katherine… why we want to get up there?"

Katherine stopped her another struggle of trying to get up, hanged in there.

"Eh… I don't know." She said with confused and fear. "It's getting inside of our head again, isn't it?"
