Chapter 32
I opened my eyes, expecting to be dead. I was in an airplane, looking out a window. There was an explosion in the building we were just in. I looked to my right and saw Sam and Dean, stunned. I smiled as their heads turned towards me. "We're alive."
They stared at me in disbelief, "How?"
I shrugged, looking down at Sam's hand clutching mine. Then I looked back up at him. "The apocalypse has started…"
We landed safely and stumbled out of the plane, arguing amongst ourselves how we were saved. We walked past several people and I was extremely nervous. I immediately put my hands on Sam and Dean's shoulders and poofed out of the airport. We appeared at Bobby's house.
"Sam, you need to make Hex Bags." I ordered. A buzzing sound started to sound, then it grew into a pitched noise. I winced, then it died to a lower pitch.
"Are you okay?" Dean asked.
"Yes..." I responded. "Just the angels talking. Gotta get used to the sounds."
"Um, I dunno what you're talking about but alright."
"Dean?" Sam asked.
"No."
I sighed and turned around to see my dad. His mouth dropped. "Darlin'! You're okay!" He rushes towards me and tackles me, squeezing the crap out of me.
I hugged him back. "Of course I am. Why wouldn't I be?"
"Angels are after you. Castiel said you guys need to hide from them." Bobby explained, pulling away.
"How..?"
There was a gust of wind and I saw over my father's shoulder the angel in the trench coat. He nods at me and Bobby turned away from me to see him.
He raises his hand and there was a burning sensation in my ribs. I winced and held my side. I looked at Sam and Dean, they were too holding their sides. I glanced back at Cas. "What the hell was that?"
"A shield, so to speak. You are shielded from angels."
"But..." I had blinked and he was gone.
We talked about what happened. Angels, archangels, Lucifer.
We had gone somewhere; I was only following the boys. Bobby pulled up in the Impala. He got out of the car and walked towards us.
"I did some research on the Archangel Michael."
"I need to talk to you Bobby." Sam spoke up.
They left to a different room. I looked at Dean and he just nodded. I quietly followed dad and Sam, hiding in a bathroom.
"Bobby, it's my fault. MY actions led to Lucifer." Sam said sadly. "I'm so sorry."
"Boy, once this hunt is over... I want nothing to do with you!" Dad said coldly. "Also, I want you to have nothing to do with my DAUGHTER!"
I got angry. "BULLSHIT!" I walked out of the bathroom in to the other room. "You CANNOT cut me off from Sam. Maybe you will never understand what he did, but it wasn't his fault. I understand. I'm a grown lady, you can't keep me from someone like that. He means the WORLD to me."
They both stared at me in shock. "B-but... he's not safe."
"I'm an angel, I can handle myself." I argued.
"I truly don't give a damn what you are above me, but I know damn well that you are my daughter. I'm trying to look out for you. Just because you're an angel, doesn't mean you fix everything. You're still a mortal by heart." He huffed.
I stood my ground and stared at him. Maybe he's right, but I'm not leaving Sam. I crossed my arms, "I realize that."
He smirked. "I don't think you do sweetheart." He walks out.
Sam stares at me. "I'm sorry, Vallie."
"I understand, Sammy." I smile.
Then my phone starts vibrating. I looked at the caller ID. I stare in shock and press 'answer'. Bringing it to my ear, I say, "Thea?"
"Hey girly! How're are you?" She squealed. "It's been so long."
I opened my mouth in shock. "O-oh my god! I miss you so much!" I smiled. My best friend calls me after all these years...
"What's up?"
I sighed. "Oh, you know, the end of the world..."
"I-I know..." She said in despair. "We should meet and talk. Where are you?"
"Sioux Falls, South Dakota."
"Okay, be there in a few hours." BEEP. She hung up.
I put my phone in my pocket and gave Sam a huge smile. I jumped on him, clinging. "My best friend's coming to see me."
He held me and chuckled nervously. "I'm glad you're happy, babe."
There was a crash in the house and I rushed from the couch towards the sound. I stopped in the doorway of the kitchen to see a woman with two henchmen.
"Who are you?" I demand.
Her lips curl back over his perfect white teeth and she blinks, revealing coal black eyes.
I straighten up and stiffen. "Go away." I growled.
"I'm Meg." She cackled.
Then Dean comes in and Bobby comes from nowhere, tackling Dean. He was possessed... I stood there in shock. I couldn't move... I was scared, actually scared. That was my father. I snapped out of it and tackled the possessed old man. He pushed me off and pulled Ruby's knife on me. He seems to struggle, the knife shaking in his hand. The knife plunged down... Instead of into my body, in his... Tears came to my eyes.
"NOOOO!" I screamed.
Sam comes in and killed the two men next to Meg. She escaped; the smoke billowing from her mouth. The girl falls to floor, unconscious. I stare at my father and fall to my knees beside him. He was too, unconscious. "HELP HIM!" I screamed. "DO SOMETHING!" Sam pulled me and I fought his strong grip with tears in my eyes. Dean pulled the knife out and picked up my dad.
I sat there alone with my dad. I held his hand and let tears be shed. He was still unconscious, but the doctor said he was okay.
"Vallie?" A female voice spoke.
I turned around and my eyes widened. "Thea!" I got up and ran towards her. My arms wrapped around her abdomen and buried my face into her sweater. "I missed you!"
She hugs me back tightly. "Me too, darling. Me too."
