Chapter 38
Wendy left Snape's office in tears. He had called her a beast – a creature more or less. And he was right. She wasn't even considered human by most wizards but Snape...he was her friend. He was supposed to be her friend. He'd never been prejudiced towards her before. He didn't even like to say the word werewolf around her.
She hadn't meant to say what she had said. The "you wish" it had slipped out. Still...what he had said was an overreaction.
She decided not to worry on it anymore. After all, a few floors up there was a man that loved her, who didn't care if she was a beast. She perked up and hurried up to his office to tell him the good news.
She met him on the stairs on his way up from lunch.
"Miss Phillips," he said casually. "How are you?"
"I'm fine. I have some good news."
"Come into my office," he said.
They entered his office and Lupin shut the door behind them.
"You're very dusty," he observed with a smile.
"I've just come from Herbology."
"What's the good news? Sprout getting a new Venomous Tentacula?"
"Noo... I am leaving school for the holidays. And my birthday is next week. Seventeen at last."
"Oh?" he said, looking over her hungrily. "I will have to get you a gift. What do you want?"
"You," she said with a smirk. "All holiday."
"Well I was going to stay here, but... where are you staying?"
"I'll probably get a room at the Leaky Cauldron."
"And Severus is okay with this?"
"He doesn't have to be," she said coolly. "I'll be of age."
"Have you two had a falling out?" he asked skeptically.
"Something like that," she muttered. "He's a bastard."
"What did he do?"
"I don't want to talk about it," she muttered. "It doesn't matter."
She felt her eyes fill with tears again and she turned away.
"Hey," he said, enveloping her in a hug. "It matters to me, especially if it upsets you."
"He just...said something mean. He called me a beast," she said with a sniffle.
"Oh Wendy...I'm sorry."
"You don't think I'm a beast...do you?"
"Of course not, sweet girl. You are a beautiful, sexy, amazing young woman. Not a beast."
She let Lupin had her and slowly she started to feel better. The fuzzy feeling took over her brain. He pressed a kiss on top of her head and she leaned her head against his chest. She could hear his heartbeat and she could have sworn it matched her own.
"I love you," she breathed. The first time she had ever said it aloud.
"...That makes me happy to hear," he murmured.
She pulled away and looked up at him.
"You didn't say it back," she said.
"I care a lot about you, Wendy. I'm just...not so good at saying it. Give me time."
"Okay," she said with a sigh.
He dropped his head down to kiss her and she forgot what they had been talking about. She closed the little space between the two of them, pressing her body to his. He put his arms around her, gripping her ass firmly.
She felt the bulge in his pants and ground her hips against it. He groaned and pinned her to the door, slipping his hands under her shirt. He ran his thumb across her nipple, making her shudder. Then the bell rang, butting into their fun. Lupin groaned in frustration.
"Soon," she said with a chuckle.
"Not soon enough," he said, grinding against her.
"I'm going to be late for Charms," she said.
"I'll write you a note," he murmured, kissing her neck.
"I should've showered."
"You can shower here."
"Don't you have a class to teach?"
"Not this period. Come shower in my room."
"Are you going to watch?" she asked, batting her eyes at him. He moaned, pressing her into the door harder.
"No...No, wait," he said, stepping away. "I c-can't. I shouldn't. I'm sorry. You should go..."
"I understand," she said with a reluctant sigh. "I need to get to class."
"Here. I will right you a note," he said, walking over to his desk. He scribbled a note and handed it to her.
"Thanks," she said. "See you later."
