Ok so I know this has taken a while but I re-wrote parts of this chapter a few times over because I kept changing my mind on the content. I'm sorry for the delay but I hope you like the end result! I'll try to get the next one up ASAP. Hit that review button and let me know what you think ;)

"I told you this was a great idea," Jane said as she turned her attention to Maura.

Maura's bright smile shone as she nodded in agreement. "Yes, I have to say that this is a GREAT idea and the best one we've followed through with in a long time. I am not missing Boston's below freezing temperatures one bit!" She raised her drink, its little decorative umbrella dancing around the rim. "To us, and this much needed vacation," she said.

Jane's smile got even bigger as she too lifted her drink and gently tapped it with Maura's. "To us," she said as they both drank before setting the drinks down again.

The two women released long, relaxed sighs as they turned their heads and looked at the picturesque sunset before their eyes. The sun glistened off the water, giving it a slightly orange tint. The ocean breeze swept the palm leaves gently as the incoming waves crashed down before calming once more.

"I made us reservations at that little restaurant we walked by yesterday, dinner is at 8," Jane stated as she took a hold of Maura's hand and kissed it before lowering it and holding on.

"That's fabulous Jane! I wanted to make sure we tried it before we leave in a couple of days. The lobster looked exquisite. Maybe we should get going, I'd like to have a proper shower before we head over there."

"Yeah, me too," Jane said in agreement as she started getting up from her chair and turned to help Maura up.

A little over an hour later both women were freshly showered and dressed and making their way down the beach to their destination.

"Maura! I don't how we are going to manage to get through dinner without me reaching over and ripping your clothes off! I told you that you in that dress are going to be the death of me!"

Maura laughed heartily. She reached over and leaned close into Jane, her lips a centimeter away from Jane's ear. "Make it through dinner and I promise that you can do whatever you want with me and this dress when we get back to the room," Maura replied, whispering at Jane seductively. Maura turned her head so that her hazel eyes burned into Jane's, the sexual tension heavy in the air. "Deal?" Maura asked.

Jane visibly swallowed and nodded, unable to make an intelligible sound.

"Good," Maura stated. "Let's go have some dinner," she replied as she grabbed a hold of Jane and directed them towards the restaurant once more.

Jane took a last sip of her margarita, savoring its taste. The dinner had truly been phenomenal. They'd spent the last portion of their meal observing a group of musicians performing. Little by little, a small crowd formed as people got up and began to dance. Jane stood from her seat, went around the table and held out her hand to Maura.

"Dance with me," she said. It hadn't been a question, and Maura easily picked up on it. She placed her hand in Jane's and rose from her seat to join her girlfriend. Jane led them to the small crowd and stopped right at its boundary. She turned her body and rested her hands softly against Maura's waist while Maura wrapped her arms around Jane's neck.

Though it was an upbeat song and the people around them danced enthusiastically, Jane swayed them slowly from side to side, still in rhythm with the music but at a much slower pace.

"You know what I like about this vacation?" she asked Maura as she brought their bodies closer together.

"What's that?" Maura asked, interested in knowing the answer.

"This, right here. You, in my arms. The world could fall apart right now and I wouldn't care because I have you here with me."

Maura rested her head on Jane's shoulder as they continued swaying back and forth. "I love you so much Jane. You're the love of my life. The rest of our lives won't be enough time to spend with you."

"We have forever. The rest of our lives, and all eternity," Jane said as she brought up Maura's face to her own and kissed her softly. Maura ran her fingers through Jane's hair as she intensified the kiss, not wanting it to end… The two continued kissing softly, the world around them disappearing. Nothing and no one else existed, it was just the two of them together, joined by love and passion.

"Let's go," Maura whispered the second the kiss ended. "If I remember correctly, I made you a promise earlier…"

She looked up as she heard Jane's voice. "Jane? You're here?" She closed her eyes and opened them once more. Jane was a few feet away. Tears ran down her face and she started sobbing. "You're not real. It's a dream, it was all a dream. You're not real!"

Jane leaned down quickly and met Maura's eyes. "I'm here baby, I'm here. You're ok."

Maura blinked again and felt Jane's hand as she gently touched her cheek. "What did this bastard do to you?" Jane began crying as she saw Maura's disbelief. "I'm here Maura, you're safe. He will never hurt you again."

"Jane! It is you! You came for me!" Maura wrapped her arms around Jane as soon as Korsak freed her arms. She held on as if her life depended on it.

"Of course I'm here. You're my reason for being, Maura, and I will do anything I need to in order to keep you safe. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," Jane cried as she held her broken lover in her arms.

So I know it may not make sense... but it shall be explained in the next chapter. Thoughts?
