This was a really intense chapter to type, guys. I hope that you like it!

I do not own anything in the Supernatural universe, only Sarah.
I was surprised that it didn't start with a headache like it had the last time. Instead, I simply found myself opening my eyes into what I thought was a dream.
I was standing upright in a dark room, but something about my surroundings seemed familiar. I spun around in the area, and after closer inspection saw that I was standing in the kitchen at Melody's house. I idly wondered why I was there; still thinking that it was a dream. I decided to explore, so I walked through the dark threshold into the living room.
I saw that there was a picture of Melody and her parents sitting on the coffee table in front of the couch, so I walked over to get a closer look at it. Glancing down at it, I saw that it was a recent picture taken of the three on their vacation to the beach. I smiled faintly at their happy faces; at least they could live normal lives while Sam, Dean and I fought off the creatures of the night.
I reached out to pick up the picture, but where my hand should have made contact with the frame it swept through the picture like nothing had been there at all. I squinted in confusion and tried again, but with the same results. Dreams weren't supposed to be like this, were they?
Suddenly, I heard a large thump come from upstairs and spun around. Quietly, I made my way over to the stairs and climbed them up to the second floor. I could see that there was a light on in Melody's room, so I walked up to the door frame and looked into the room.
Melody was in the process of picking up the spell book from the floor, where it had apparently dropped after she had lifted it out of the drawer. I stepped into the room, watching my friend as she turned to place the book onto her bed.
"Melody?" I asked, wondering if she had heard me come in. She didn't turn when I said her name, which startled me. I thought that in dreams you were able to interact with people, but that didn't appear to be the case here. I was starting to piece together what was actually happening. The way that I couldn't touch the photograph and Melody couldn't hear me, combined with how real the experience felt. Then it hit me.
I was having a vision.
But that didn't make sense either. The only time before that I had had a vision was because Kara...Oh no.
"Melody!" I screamed at her, trying to will her to look over at me. I ran over to her, trying to get her attention.
"Please Mels!" I yelled again, reaching out towards her. My hand swiped through her shoulder like there was nothing there, and I lost my balance and stumbled forwards. I caught myself right before I fell to the floor and spun back around to stand in front of my friend.
"Come on," I said, tears forming in my eyes, "please, Mels, hear me." I was surprised when she actually looked up, although she appeared to be looking at something past me.
"You," She breathed, and I squinted my eyes in confusion.
"Hello again, Melody," An all too familiar voice came from behind me. I blinked hard and then turned around to see Kara standing in the doorway of Melody's room. As she spoke, she began to walk forwards into the room.
"No," I whispered, momentarily losing my voice. I stepped so that I was planted in front of Melody, but even I knew that it wouldn't do much in stopping the demon. I heard Melody shift behind me, and I glanced over my shoulder to see that she had backed up against the wall. I turned and held my ground against Kara.
The demon finally caught my eye and sent me a smirk, which only succeeded in making my anger flare up.
"Stay away from her," I said louder, willing to do anything to protect my friend. I backed up until I was next to Melody, but Kara continued to walk forward. I suddenly felt utterly defenseless.
"It's no use," Kara spoke again, and I had the feeling that she was talking to me. She stopped when she got to the bed, reaching over to grab the spell book. "Besides, I only wanted what belongs to me," She explained, flipping the book open to a bookmarked page.
I realized what she was doing a second too late. Kara began chanting in a foreign language, and in a burst of outrage I leapt at her, attempting to stop her from summoning the reaper. When I should have come in contact with the demon my body went through her instead, not affected in the least.
"No!" I yelled, jumping up as Kara continued reading from the book. I looked over to see that Melody was staring in horror at something that only she could see. I rushed back over to my friend and tried once again to make her see me.
"Melody please!" I screamed at her, "You have to run now!" It wasn't any use though, she was frozen in shock. Tears started to slip down my cheeks. I turned back to look at Kara, whose eyes had flashed black. She finished reading the ritual and set the book back down on the bed.
"Why her!" I yelled at the demon, who stalked forwards to stand eye-to-eye with me.
"Because you love her," She said calmly, and I was taken aback by her comment. Kara was only doing this because of me. Again I was hit with the harsh truth that everything that had happened in Dayton was my fault.
I was ripped from my thoughts by Melody's scream. I spun back around to see the front of her shirt catching fire from an invisible source. I turned back to the demon.
"What do you want from me?" I yelled at her, but she only smirked at me and winked as Melody screamed again. I glanced back at my friend, whose entire shirt had caught flames by now. I turned back towards Kara, but she was gone. There wasn't anyone else left in the room besides me and Melody, but Melody didn't know that. I spun back to my friend, who was quickly going up in flames.
"No!" I yelled to no one in particular, but the scene played on. I realized that Kara had left me to watch my friend's death, and I knew that that was a part of whatever she had planned for me. I couldn't bear to see Melody's final moments, so I slipped to the floor and curled up into a ball, pressing my hands against my ears and trying to block out her screams. After a few minutes of the torture I wasn't able to stop, I finally fell into a void of black silence.
I woke up in my bed with a start, at first thinking that what I had seen was only a dream. But even then I knew that that wasn't the case. It hadn't been before. I jumped out of bed and rushed out the open door into the hallway, not even hesitating to stop and tell the boys, who were asleep in the living room, what I had seen.
I quickly unlocked the front door and ran out into the street, not even thinking to put on shoes. Behind me I heard Dean and Sam waking up and calling after me, but I didn't pay attention to them. I had to get to Melody's house.
I ran the three blocks to my friend's house, but when I rounded the last corner I came to a screeching halt. Up ahead, part of the upper floor of Melody's house was in flames. I knew that I was too late. Off in the distance I heard fire truck sirens, and then the full force of the situation hit me.
I sunk to my knees on the sidewalk, holding my face in my hands as I openly sobbed into my palms. One of the few friends that I had left from before my mom died was gone. Kara was taking away everyone that I loved. Who would she go after next? Would I be able to stop her before she got to them?
I heard footsteps behind me, but I didn't react. If Kara wanted me, she could have me. I was getting too weak to fight her back. I wanted to, but at the time I didn't see a point in trying. Nearly everyone that I cared about was gone, and it was all my fault.
"Sarah?" The person asked from beside me, and I glanced up to see Dean crouching next to me, his worried eyes looking down at me. Behind him, Sam stood glancing between me and Melody's burning house. I wondered if they had guessed what had happened yet.
"I—I saw it happen," I said in between sobs. After looking up to share a cautious glance with Sam, Dean picked me up and started to carry me the other way. It was probably best to get me away from the scene, but I didn't care anymore. I only cried into my brother's shoulder as he packed me back to my house.
