Chapter 38: Bad Hair Day and Lesson One

"Talking"

'Thinking'

Danny wok up, feeling rather tired. When he went that deep within his mind, Danny didn't expect to see that guy of all the things.

'How long do you think he existed?' came in Dan's voice from within him. 'As one of your emotions, I mean.'

"Who know. Maybe the day we first transformed." spoke Danny, out loud.

"Who're you talking to, dad?" asked Dani as she came into his room, rubbing sand from her eyes.

"Huh?" asked Danny, who finally noticed his daughter entering his room. Dani only arrived 3 hours after he came home. And that was yesterday. Your up. It's kind of early, isn't it?"

'Nah. I thought I should get up for a change, earlier than YOOOOUUUUHOO!" said Dani, turning out the you part into a scream and looked at her father with a disbelieving look.

"What time is it?" asked Danny.

"Let me check, there is a clock right beside you." she pointed out and left the room. In quite a hurry actually, muttering something about still being asleep.

Danny gave an 'oh' sound and would have turned his head to check the time, but felt to lazy for it. Although he was a little curious of the sudden yelling.

"Whatever." spoke Danny after a small yawn and teleported to the washroom.

Appearing in the washroom, Danny held onto the sink with a look of pain and nausea.

"Note to self. Never teleport after waking up." he muttered to himself, trying his best to not puke. He quickly splashed his face with water after turning on the sink.

"Hmm... Prickly." he muttered to himself, still half asleep as he washed his face.

'Prickly?' asked Dan and Danny stopped. It was true. Danny felt something. Or many things, poking his hand when he rubbed his face.

He slowly lifted his head and when he looked himself in the mirror, almost fainted.

"HOLY MOTHER OF FU-" he yelled but-

Scene Change

"Hmm?" Superboy opened his eyes from his meditative position and looked around. Dani said that it would help keep his anger in control.

"Is something wrong, Connor?" asked Megan who was making breakfast. School would start after a couple of hours so they were in no hurry.

"No. I thought I heard something." he said and returned to his meditative position on the couch.

Back With Danny

Danny stared at his reflection with horror in his eyes.

"The hell?" he asked himself.

'I know. I woke up with the same thing.' said Dan.

"H-How?" he shuttered out.

'How did this happen? No idea.' answered Dan.

Danny's hand went to his now long, as in waist level long, hair. And while the right hand went down his back, his left hand went to his prickly, small beard. The beard he cloud handle, but what the hell was up with the huge hair!

'Think it has something do to with Theos?' asked Dan. 'I mean. He's the only one of us that has that long hair. Made of calm yet powerful fire it maybe but still.'

"Why don't you go and ask him." said Danny through his now gritting teeth. It was more of an order than a request.

'You're the boss.' said Dan and Danny felt the physic being cut of between the two.

"Now I gotta cut all these hair off." spoke Danny to himself with a groan. A pair of scissors appeared in front of Danny with a razor and shaving cream.

5 Minutes Later

"Hmm. That didn't hurt as bad as I thought." Danny muttered. He cut himself a little which had already healed due to his incredibly fast healing powers. But the stinging pain was still there. He teleported to the kitchen and started to make breakfast.

'Yo, Dan! Ya there yet?' he asked/thought so that Dani won't hear him talking to himself. he doesn't want his own daughter to think that he went insane or anything stupid like that. He then made a clone and sent it to find her while still making breakfast. Surprising she was still in her bed, sleeping soundly.

The clone adjusted his voice and gave a devilish smirk, thinking of playing a rank on Dani and his original. Then took a deep breath and-

"WAKE UP!" he yelled and Dani jumped up from bed and mysteriously yet hilariously, attached herself to the ceiling.

"What?! Who?! What happened?!" she yelled out. "Are we under attack?!... Why is everything I'm seeing black?"

Obviously she hadn't noticed that she was hanging on the ceiling.

The clone dispersed itself and it's essence went back into Danny. Whom had seen the clones memory and his shoulders slumped down in with a slight groan coming out of his mouth.

"3...2...1" he counted and Dani slammed open the door.

"What the heck was up with the way you woke me up?!" she yelled. Then took deep breath's with an angry look on her face.

"Sorry about that. I sent a clone to check up on you and he thought about pranking you." Danny said as he waved his hands in a defensive manner.

"Why would he do such a thing?!" she yelled and Danny cringed, any louder than she might just be able to do a small Ghostly Wail.

"Stop yelling. You might still have some time left fore school but that doesn't mean you cloud do whatever you want." spoke Danny and turned back towards the stove while his daughter cloud only groan in annoyance and went to the Bathroom.

'So what did i miss.' came Dan's voice oh so suddenly in Danny's mind making Danny jump a bit.

'Don't do that.' said Danny in his mind. 'So, what happened exactly?'

'It was him alright. It was Theos.' said Dan with a sigh.

'I guessed that much but how did THAT horrifying thing happen?' Danny asked.

'Not much of anything, really. You see while we were sleeping, Theos thought that it would be "fun" to take over your body and take it out for a spin, all the while stretching out a bit.' explained Dan and Danny's body noticeably paled.

"Why do I get the feeling of being in deep (Beep)?' he asked himself.

Danny put the plates of freshly made waffles and bacon on the table of the living room and a couple of seconds after, Dani entered the room with her trademark cloths on(A.N: The DP cloths)

"Breakfast in the living room?" she asked

"Wanted to eat while being entertained" explained Danny. "Bacon, Eggs and Waffles?"

"Don't mind if I do." said Dani and sat down on the couch taking a plate from the table, she still couldn't get used to having normal food and not being forced to steal apples from local fruit shops. Then she turned the TV on.

And the moment the color appeared, so did a breaking news. But Dani didn't want to see the news nor did she care, so she changed the channel and Danny didn't care at all. But the channels, all of them were showing the same thing.

"What's up with today?" she asked and settled for the news.

"Hello New York, I am Lois Lane . As you see behind me, some people are near the telephone booth. Wrapped up in green goop like substance on all sides. Police have confirmed them of being some of the biggest crime lords of America. Who or what did this to them is still a not only that but also many factories around the country have been destroyed. It has also been discovered that those factories have all been producing deadly drugs. And the Crime Lords that had been captured have connections to the factories. Police are assuming that their capture and the destruction of those drug manufacturing buildings have been done by the same person and- the news reporter suddenly stopped as a police from behind came into her and spoke in her ear in a hushed voice. Her eyes widened and Danny cloud have swore that he saw them sparkle with excitement.

'Wait a minute, Lois Lane? I thought she liven in Metropolis(Sorry if I spelled it wrong. I'm not good with names).' thought Danny, confused.

'Vacation?' proposed Dan.

'With a camera crew? I doubt it.' thought Danny with a sweat drop. 'If not... Man that woman travels fast!'

"Hey, I thought she just worked on paper. Not the front lines of the Camera!" Dan exclaimed.

'Got a promotion, not that hard to get one these days.' said Danny. Even though he was completely wrong, Dan didn't say anything else.

"It appears that one of the Crime Lords have woken up and we have been given permission to interview him." she said walked to the shortest Crime Lord that was none other than Penguin.

"Awwwgh" Penguin groaned as his eyes opened up and began to adjust to the light. The last thing he remembered was-

"No! No! No!" he began to yell with a terrified look on his face. "Stay Away!"

"It appears that he is in shock from what had happened." said Lois.

'No (Beep) Sherlock.' said Dan in Danny's mind.

"What do you think happened?" asked Dani.

"Hell if I know." spoke Danny and took the fork full of Waffles in his mouth.

Danny heard Penguin mumble something about Green and Red eyes and saw Mrs. Lane (Don't judge him! He knows how to respect a woman!... Sometimes) turn to the camera, giving a confused look and returning to Penguin and speak.

"Penguin! Penguin!" she yelled, trying to get the shorter man's attention in which she succeeded.

"What?! What?!" his voice came out, but sounded like a squeaky toy being squashed under foot of a 4 year old.

"Funny voice." commented Dani which chewing on a piece of Bacon.

"Don't speak with your mouth full." said Danny, after swallowing his of course. Be damned if he gets told by his own daughter.

"Sorry." she replied, looking down but one again looked up hearing penguin's voice.

"There I was, minding my own business until all of a sudden, BAM!, BOOM!, POW! everything around me starts to blow up and a second after, all my bodyguards are lying on the floor, didn't check to see if they were dead or not and the next thing I see is a pair of Red and Green eyes, followed by the sound of something ripping, the lights were out so I wasn't able to see the guy's face. And then... I'm here."

That was all danny paid attention to. He knew that Theos was the one to do this but when Dan said that Theos told him that he, Theos was gonna go and do some 'stretching'. Danny didn't expect him to make a scene like this!

Danny sat up from the couch and walked to the kitchen to do the dishes. Then Danny heard Lois say something about Shadow which got danny to groan inwards and Dan to chuckle at Danny's misfortune, knowing that Danny was gonna have to have a small 'chat' from The League.

"Hey, Dad?" spoke Dani as she turned the TV off and walked to the kitchen after her dad.

"Yeah?" he asked, not taking his eye off the dishes.

"While I was at the cave, I, accidentally heard my friends talking about this Shadow guy. And they asked If I knew him and wh-" she spoke but Danny cut hi off.

"Let me guess, you 'accidentally' got caught and they 'accidentally' told you that I knew him and now you 'accidentally' want to know about him." said Danny, turning his head to her and gave a raised eye brow and a smirk on his face.

"Was it really that easy to figure me out?" asked Dani.

"When someone uses the words, 'accidentally' 'maybe' 'kind of' or 'No! OF COURSE NOT!'." he said, making the last part look like an exact copy of Box Ghost. 'There is something funny going on."

"So they want to know if I've hidden anything about Shadow that they should know." spoke Danny. It was more of a statement than a question.

"I guess so." said Dani giving a shrug.

"Then i'm afraid that they are gonna have to be disappointed. Cause I'm not letting anything slip." said Danny.

"Can I ask for something?" asked Dani.

"You already did, didn't you?" joke Danny, wiping his hands as the dishes were cleaned. There wasn't really much to clean since there was only two of them living in this house.

"This is serious." said Dani, slightly angry that her father wasn't taking her seriously.

"Heheh. Sorry. I couldn't help myself. So what da ya wanna ask?" asked Danny, walking back to the living room with his daughter following suit.

"Do you really know this Shadow Guy?" she asked.

"Yeah." replied Danny. For some reason he knew where this was going.

"Who is he?'

"An old... friend of mine."

"What about Tucker and Sam?"

Danny paused for a few seconds. Feeling like saying VERY bad things about Sam. Tucker? He didn't really know how his surrogate brother felt about him. Tucker's face looked like it was having trouble making a decision when his own parents, no, those Humans of a parents of his, shot him down like a wild animal.

"We... aren't as close as we used to be years ago. And that's all I'm ever gonna tell you." he said."But right now. Hurry up. Your gonna late for school. Since your gonna go with Megan and Connor."

And with that, he left the room, leaving his daughter with that answer.

Dani knew that something had happened when Danny disappeared. Yet, she didn't know she appeared back in Amity, Tucker was the first one she met and said boy told her to escape as fast as she could as soon as he spotted him. And without a single more word, not even who she was escaping from, forced her away from Amity with the Fenton's trademark Specter Deflector... Well, throwing it at her.

Only moments after she also exited the kitchen.

Danny sighed, he really didn't want to do that to her But he also didn't want her to now about the things his parents and the GIW put him through. As he watched the retreating form of his daughter along with the forms of a Human loo a like Megan and Superboy, Danny's mind kept wondering into bad things from his more... questionable days.

Not wanting to think about this anymore, Danny suddenly got an idea.

"Hey! Connor!" he yelled and Connor stopped and turned around to find Danny right behind him.

"Yes?" he asked, almost losing his balance as Danny suddenly appeared behind him without no warning.

"Why don't you come with me? I want to teach you, Robin and Aqualad something. something. Something important." explained Danny.

"But I have school." reasoned Connor even though he was a little interested in what the older boy wanted to teach him.

"Don't worry. Sipping school one day won't kill you or anything." said Danny as he put his hand on Connor's shoulder and gave a toothy smile.

"But..." Connor trailed off, looking at where Megan and Dani was only to not fin them as they were too far ahead, not even noticing that he was left behind.

"Let 'em be." said Danny. "When women find other women to talk to they completely disregard who ever else is with them. Or as to say, they simply forget what they are doing before starting to gossip.. Most of they anyway."

Superboy sighed, knowing that there would be no out of this but when he opened his eyes he saw a concrete wall and he blinked again.

"Now come here you guys." spoke Danny who was behind him and All the men who heard, the only ones who did anyway poked their head up from where they were.

"What are you guys doing here?" asked Robin from his place in the couch, he also didn't want to go to school today, that and Gotham High was still in construction from Vortex's freak-storm. "I thought you had school."

"I'm skipping today. And Danny wants to teach us something." replied Connor. Figuring that Danny was either able to use teleportation or used his incredible speed to get them both here without their knowledge. Probably the former as the latter maybe impossible for anyone. Even though the former was stretch

"It is you Superboy. Is something the matter?" asked Aqualad who just came from the bathroom.

'I hate repeating myself.' thought Superboy and opened his mouth but Robin beat him to the punch.

"Danny wants to 'teach' us something." said Robin and the team leader turned towards Danny.

"What do you wish to teach us, Mr. Grayger?" he asked and Danny frowned at still being called that but smiled only a second after.

Danny stood in the top of Mount Justice and smiled as he took in the fresh air. Then he turned to the other boys.

"Boy." Robin huffed out, exhausted from their hike."That was...*Exhale* exhausting."

"C'mon, Richard!" Danny said. "Your said to be a one-man-army. This is supposed to be nothing for you!"

"Easier said then done." said Robin, finally being able to catch his breath then froze in the spot.

"H-How do you now my name?" he asked.

"Huh? Well, your name is Robin and the full name of Robin is Richard... Did I miss anything?" Danny asked.

"It appears that our new comrade is true. Is there a problem of him knowing your name?" asked Kaldur who had finally got to the top himself with Superboy following suit.

"I don't really see their being a problem of him knowing your name or not." commented Superboy, his face, emotionless like most of the time even though he himself was worn out a little bit.

"What's the point of us being up here again?" asked Robin, desperately trying to change the subject.

"Just like I said, you guys need to concentrate to learn what I'm about to teach you and this place is the bestest and closest place." explained Danny.

"It's too windy up here for my taste." spoke Robin as he felt the wind slapping him in the face.

"Don't worry, you'll get used to it." said Danny.

"What do you want to teach us?" asked Superboy.

"I'm glad you asked." said Danny, trailing off.

"Well then gentlemen..." he said turning around at them with a smile on his face.

"How much do you know about flying?" he asked and everyone's eyes widened at that.

'Let the first lesson begin.' said Dan inside Danny's mind.

WoW! It took me WAY longer than I expected to finish this one. You see the thing for me being late was that my results got out and I got an "A-", sadly. Yes I know. It's still and A but where I come from, an A is nothing much and now I've doing a lot of running arond for getting myself into a college. And I still haven't gotten into one. My friends blame me wasting my time with fanfiction for that. But frankly I don't care.
