I hold no claim to the characters from this kick-ass Anime. Only Aurora, Naora, Corell, Arryn, Orin, and Amira are mine.
As an answer to the question, yes I do plan on writing Reload and Gunlock! :)
Chapter Thirty-Six
Faraway Dream
It had begun to snow. The two dragons were trying their hardest to keep up with the travel but they all feared that they were in trouble with that. Goku was ignoring it that, talking about how hungry he was, like always. He hugged Gojyo, telling them he was freezing and hungry over and over again until the redhead punched him in the face.
"Shut the hell up. You're just making the things worse."
Goku glared at him. "What?! You're the one who said we should take a shortcut!"
"Let's not go digging up the past, shall we?"
Aurora hung her head as the two of them argued and fought with eachother. Why? Why did they always have to fight? Can't they all just…be quiet during times like that?
There were two squeaks from the jeeps and they all decided that the two Dragons were at their limits.
"I guess walking on our feet will be the next round." Arryn sighed, jumping out of the red jeep. The boys followed them, complaining as they walked on their feet. Things were silent for almost an hour as the snow hit them all hard.
Gojyo frowned. "What did we do to deserve having to play this tough guy act?"
"Oh, nothing too much," Orin replied as Hakkai and Arryn held the two dragons. "It's all just to make us suffer, though, so just shut up and deal with it." The four men paused as Goku fell forward onto his face. Aurora refused to stop though until Naora grabbed her sleeve and pulled her back to the young monkey on the ground.
"Get up or I'll stomp you." Gojyo growled at the other, lifting his foot up. Goku didn't move and the half-breed smashed his foot against the face. "You stop fooling around and get the hell up, you lazy bum!"
"This is strange," Hakkai began.
"Is something wrong?" Amira glanced at the man.
"It's this blizzard," He answered her. "It seems unseasonably harsh for this time of year," He glanced at Arryn. "Don't you think so?"
"I don't know," Orin crossed his arms. "When it's a blizzard, we're normally inside our house or a hotel, not traveling through it."
"A trap, maybe?" Arryn wondered aloud.
"Lying in wait is such an outdated tactic." Sanzo sighed.
"It doesn't matter," Aurora sighed. "Fighting will help warm you up."
"Took you guys long enough," a voice called out to them. "I've been waiting all day." They all turned to look at the lone Youkai that stood above them, staring down as the snow continued to fall.
"I'm sorry, did we have an appointment?" Gojyo asked him.
"It would have been better if you died in the blizzard," The Youkai was in a short dress-like outfit. "Since you've come this far, oh well, it looks like I'll have to use force."
"Why would that be?" Hakkai asked him.
"Because I intend to take the Maten Scripture."
"So, Kougaiji and the others are using younger ones now, huh?" Amira grunted with a frown.
"It seems so." Naora sighed.
"I take it this storm has something to do with you?" Arryn called to him.
"More or less," He smiled. He then lifted his hand and an explosion went off. Hakkai and Arryn formed a strong shield around them, both frowning on their face as Goku turned excited about their enemy.
"Awesome! That kicked ass! Tell me, what's your name?"
The Youkai grinned. "Shoryu. Next time, I'll be sure to kill you."
"Yeah, yeah, like we've never heard that before." Orin growled at him.
Goku ran forward to attack him but he was knocked back, his face sliding across the snow. Gojyo ran forward for a kick but he was right shoulder was frozen.
"You're gonna regret it." Gojyo hissed.
"Why? There's no time in my life to regret anything." Shoryu replied, swinging his arms. A kind of knife flung from his skin; Goku grinned happily before both he and Hakkai were knocked away, sent flying across the snow.
Sanzo lifted his gun at the Youkai, pausing his steps. "Dumb brat. You need some discipline." Orin and Amira joined him, circling the Youkai as Naora and Arryn hurried after Hakkai and Goku, leaving Aurora to lift Gojyo back to his feet.
"I need the scripture," Shoryu told the Priest.
"The only thing you'll get from me, Spike-boy, is lead." Sanzo fired his gun but Shoryu jumped into the air and dove down onto the blond. Orin moved forward quickly and knocked his away from the Priest, his sword forming a thin gash on the Youkai's face. Amira wasted no time and gave in her own attack as the Youkai lost himself for a moment; another wound, on his chest, this time. His anger took ahold of him and he kicked her in the face, knocking her back from him. His right hand began to glow green but he froze for a moment…before Sanzo's gun went off from the side.
"Damn," Sanzo growled. "I can't believe I missed him." He opened his mouth to talk again but he stopped as Shoryu's rocks faded away and disappeared from their eyes.
"What the hell is going on here?" Naora asked as she frowned. "Think we got him?"
"No." Aurora frowned herself, glancing over the edge. "Things like this isn't so simple."
"Why did he separate like he had?" Arryn asked, thinking carefully. She didn't get an answer.
"Oh wow," Goku grinned. "Did you see his blades? Shit, man! Those are awesome! Sweet!"
Sanzo glared at the monkey before smashing his paper fan against his head. "Stupid monkey." Orin and Amira moved after Sanzo as Aurora gave a sigh.
"That hurt!" Goku cried. "What's he do that for?!"
"The blades aren't important, Goku," Arryn smiled as she pulled the monkey to his feet. "Let's move after them."
~The weapons Shoryu used,~ Naora frowned as they all moved after Sanzo and the others. ~It's a forbidden magic~
The group continued on to walk in silence through the snow, neither of them talking until Hakkai decided to ask some more questions.
"That power," He began. "Do you suppose it's the forbidden spell of corruption after all?"
"Possibly." Sanzo scowled.
"Tell me, tell me," Goku grinned. "What is this magic?"
Aurora frowned, ignoring everything that Hakkai explained to the others. She didn't care any about this. She knew that Shoryu would show up again. Why this Youkai was on Kougaiji's side, she didn't know, but something told her that it wasn't by choice.
"Shut up and walk!" Gojyo growled, knocking Goku into the ground.
Amira chuckled. "Don't be so mean, Gojyo. Goku can only last so long."
"I can't help it." The half-breed replied with a smile. She gave another life.
"He's a persistent tyke." Sanzo frowned, grabbing everyone's attention. Shoryu had returned. "And quite a little trouble maker."
"Oh, I've just begun to make trouble." Shoryu told them.
"What do you want the Maten Scripture for, anyway?" Sanzo demanded. They were surprised that he hadn't said a word about taking Aurora with him, either.
"That's for me to know and you to find out," Was their answer. "You'll hand it over if you know what's good for you."
"Moron." Orin chuckled at him.
"Picking a fight with us is a bad idea." Amira grinned at the Youkai.
"We'll kick your ass," Goku told him. "Even if you're a kid!"
Shoryu gave a growl and stretched out his spikes again.
Aurora glanced at the group behind her. "Should I hurry and just take care of this idiot?"
"Be my guest." Sanzo hissed, crossing his arms and turning from the Youkai.
Shoryu frowned at her. "Priestess Sakura, I was asked to leave you alone. I would rather not fight you. I am only after the Scripture at this moment."
"So, you do know who I am." Aurora frowned at him.
"Indeed." Shoryu nodded.
"Good. That'll make this easier." She led out her right hand and Nova's blade formed in her hand.
"Why do you insist on fighting?" The Youkai asked her.
"You should just leave the scripture alone. It's not worth it." The Priestess told him.
He blinked. "I don't care what it's for."
Sanzo narrowed his eyes. "Then why do you need it?"
"So I can be free again." Shoryu answered.
"Free?" Naora sounded shocked.
At that, Sanzo began to laugh but the Youkai told him to stop. It didn't work. "You're such a brat, an idiot on top of a brat." The Priest told him. "Don't you get it?"
"Shut up!" Shoryu ran forward to attack. Aurora lifted Nova but Sanzo moved forward first, using his Scripture to keep the Youkai from touching the woman. He gave out a scream, as if the scripture was burning him. Something was seriously wrong here.
"Dumbass," Sanzo hissed. "What you're searching so hard for is nothing someone else to give, I'm afraid."
"I don't know what you're talking about." Shoryu replied. "I never had anyone around to teach me things like that."
"Of course not." The Priest growled. "Don't be such a whiner, brat." His Scripture faded again and as the spikes disappeared, Aurora gave a silent sigh as she let Nova's blade disappear again. "Enough of this," Sanzo told him. "I have no intention of committing joint suicide with a stupid brat. You want your freedom? Then live." Sanzo turned and placed a hand on Aurora's shoulder, pushing her into a walk beside him as they all turned and left the Youkai by himself.
"So, we gonna stop at the next city for the night?" Amira was asking, folding her hands behind her head.
"Yes," Arryn nodded. "We need to get some food and other things before-" She was cut off by a huge explosion behind them where they had left Shoryu behind.
"What the hell was that?" Orin asked.
"A release." Hakkai answered him, closing his eyes for a moment.
Sanzo pulled out a cigarette. "He must have decided that he would find his freedom in heaven." Gojyo pulled out his lighter to help the blond man. "I told you he was a stupid brat."
Aurora gave a soft smile. "Let's get out of here." She told them all. "We have a long way to go, still."
I hope you guys like it. Review! :)
