TABYTHA CARAMAHEL POV
We stare at the beast in shock. It gives out another roar and starts chasing us. We run off into different directions. Me, Marigold, Gershwin and Emerald run one way, Scout runs the other and Samantha sprints off into the forest. The berserker follows Scout
"What on earth is a berserker" Emerald asks
"The arena, it's based on fairytales. A berserker is a terrible creature that would take over kings and rule the land" I says
"And the gamemakers let that into the arena" Gershwin says
"Where is it now" Marigold asks
"I saw it follow Scout. We haven't found a way to kill a berserker but you can ward it off. If it smells healthy berries like raspberries then it'll leave you alone for a couple of hours but it'll eventually come back"
SCOUT DEADWELL POV
I run from the berserker as fast as I can. It waves its spiked club at me and misses my head by an inch. I throw knives and axes at the beast but they somehow disappear before it hits it. The berserker swings his club and it hits my legs and I fall in a bush full of...raspberries.
The berserker walks towards me, raises its club and...it sniffs the air. It looks at the raspberries and backs away before eventually running off.
I clean up my wound and get up. I want to be the one that kills Samantha.
SAMANTHA SANCHEZ POV
I run through the forest looking for a safe place to hide. There's nowhere. I could hide in a cave but that glerserker or jerserker or whatever the hell it's called could sniff me out.
I run up to the hills where Emerald, Gershwin and the girls from 11 and 6 are and I watch them.
The berserker runs towards the group as they run away. The girl from 6 falls over and the berserker jumps on top of her and impales her through the chest with the horns on his head. It then starts to chow down at her throat.
BOOM
The berserker gets up and starts to pursue the group again while I remain safe.
EMERALD MAY POV
The berserker just killed Marigold. Me, Gershwin and Scout carry on running down the hill trying to escape the beast.
We run faster and faster but it is no use. We bump into Scout and the 4 of us collapse to the floor.
We decide to give it all we've got and throw knives, axes, spears at the berserker. The weapons don't even touch it. It's like the berserker has some kind of force field around it.
"What the hell" Scout shouts
Scout knows that the best option is to flee so she runs through the forest.
The remaining 3 of us run as well and hide in a cave.
"Tabytha, how do you know all about these creatures" I ask
She gets out a book and shows it to us all. "It's my tribute token"
"Well, how does it say to destroy a berserker" Gershwin says
"All it says is the berserker must be worshipped" Tabytha tells us
We hear the berserkers sniff outside the cave. Gershwin had covered the cave entrance with a rock just like he had done with the agronas.
I signal everyone to be quiet. The beast sniffs around the cave. It eventually leaves.
"Maybe we can't destroy it" I say
"What do you mean?" Gershwin asks
"Maybe the gamemakers will keep the berserker in here until there's a victor, maybe they only sent it in to kill all but one victor" I explain
"The end of the games" Tabytha whispers
We leave the cave. The berserker must have gone to find Scout or Samantha. I turn to go into the woods when suddenly...I am pushed to the ground by the berserker. It swings its club high but before it hits me Tabytha pulls me out the way.
We start to run again. The berserker is close by and is catching up to us.
"Fat load of good that book was" Gershwin laughs. If we're going to die might as well joke about it
"Ha, yeah. Just a piece of stupid paper with the berserker must be worshipped written all over it" Tabytha says. She pauses and a look of realisation appears across her face "The berserker must be worshipped. Get on your knees"
Tabytha falls to the ground on her knees and puts her hand together as if she is praying to a god
"What are you doing" I ask
"The berserker must be worshipped. Berserkers take over kings and rule kingdoms. When they have gained all the worship they need there Aegis is down, at first I thought Aegis meant weakness but I just remembered that it means protection" Tabytha explains "If we obey it then its protection will be destroyed"
"Genius" I exclaim.
Gershwin kills some animals and I collect some berries. Tabytha takes some vine, leaves and rips out a tiny bit of her sleave and makes some form of warrior clothing. We all then get on our knees
The berserker stomps towards us. It sniffs the air and stops before us. It then looks at us approvingly as we present are gifts to it.
The beast growls roughly and sits on the floor as we bow to it.
"Ready" Tabytha whispers to me and Gershwin
"Ready" we both reply
"NOW" Tabytha shouts and we all run to the beast
I send my spear into its back and Gershwin stabs at his chest while Tabytha throws knives at the beasts head. The monster collapses to the floor with are weapons impaled in its flesh.
We also collapse tired.
"We did it" Tabytha laughed "We finally stopped the berserker"
I laugh with her. We made it, were in the final 5. Me, Gershwin, Tabytha, Scout and Samantha are in the final 5
I MIGHT BE DOING A NEW FANFIC. ITS BASICALLY GLEE IN THE HUNGER GAMES SO TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT THAT IDEA BECAUSE I'M STILL NOT SURE ABOUT IT.
