The brain, all it is made up of is grey mush. However all that brain mush does so much, it tells us what to do, what we see, what we feel, who we love. But when our brain is hurt most of us don't know what will happen after. All that mush matters.

"I'm telling you that I have a feeling that today is gonna be crazy." Callie told Arizona on their way to work. Just as she was about to say something else a truck rounded a corner and slammed into them throwing Callie out of the car and through the windshield. Arizona sat there shocked before she realized what had just happened. Quickly she pulls out her cell phone and calls the hospital.

The staff members of the hospital were standing at the ambulance bay waiting for Callie and Arizona to arrive. By the way Arizona spoke on the phone it was bad...really bad. She wasn't hurt too badly but Callie was a different story.
"Has anyone told Mark what's happened?" Meredith asked wondering if Mark knew what had happened to his best friend and mother to his unborn child.
'No he's in surgery right now, do you want to go tell him Grey?" Richard asked Meredith knowing that she was probably best for the job. Meredith had a way about breaking news that was both calming and helpful.
"Dr. Sloan are you almost done here?" Meredith asked walking into the surgery Mark was sin the middle of, she had no idea where to start when it came to telling him what had happened to Callie.
'Yeah I'm just closing up what do you need Grey?" Mark asked her having no idea that his world was about to come crashing down around him. Slowly Meredith explained to him that Callie and Arizona had been in a accident, Callie was seriously injured and was on her way here now, she also included that they had no news on the baby. Just as she said it Mark ran out of the OR pausing just a moment or a resident to finish up for him. Quickly he got to where the ambulance was pulling in.
Everything was a mess, a swarm of doctors were around Callie trying to get her inside and trying to see just how bad the damage really was. All Mark could do was stare as his best friend was wheeled into the hospital in the hopes that she was still alive.
"What the hell happened?" Mark half questioned and half yelled at Arizona who was still in the state of shock. All she could do was try to form a sentence before Mark ran into the hospital to see what kind of fate Callie and his baby were facing.
"A truck came out of nowhere." Arizona said to no one but herself before she walked inside to see Callie as well.

"Little Grey I want you to keep an eye on Sloan before we take Callie in for surgery." Richard told Lexie just as the plan was finalized. Derek and Meredith were going to work on the bleeding in Callie's brain, and then Teddy and Cristina would try and repair the tear in her heart while everyone else did damage control. Lucy and Alex were the ones that would be keeping an eye on the baby during the whole thing.
'Alright.' Lexie said as she left to go and find Mark ho had ran off after hearing the baby's heart beat.
Finally she found him in a stairwell with his head in his hands trying to stop the tears that were making their way down his cheek. Lexie just sat down next to him not knowing what to say to him in this situation.
'She's my best friend, she's my best friend what am I gonna do if she dies Lex? What am I supposed to do if our baby doesn't make it?" Mark question her but she didn't have any answers instead Lexie grabbed his hand and held on to it trying to silently tell him that she would be here in matter what happened.

"Alright I want you to suction all the bleeders as I try and find the source of all this blood okay?" Derek instructed Meredith, they quickly got started trying to stop as much of the bleeding as they could before Callie got unstable. All the doctors knew that it was just a matter of time before they would lose control. It was time for some damage control.
"We're losing her!" Teddy called out while she and Cristina just finished putting a temporary graft on the hole that was in Callie's chest.
'She's contracting!" Lucy said just as Teddy finished yelling, it seemed like Callie was circling the drain and fats. She quickly pushed some drugs and hoped for eth best knowing that she was a little out of her element.
"We need to close her up now before she bleeds to death." Owen called out when they had gotten Callie stable and the contractions to stop.

"Dr. Fields can I ask what your plan is?" Richard asked Lucy once they had got Callie in the ICU and a doctor was with her every minute.
"My plan?" Lucy knew that she have told the chief that she was in over her head but there was a need she had, to prove herself.
'Yes your plan, what happens when we take Torres back into the OR? What will you do if she starts contracting again? What if God forbid you have to deliver this baby?" Richard yelled taking Lucy by surprise, now she knew it was the time to tell him the truth.
"I seem to be a little out of my comfort zone here chief." With that Richard walked off and made a desperate call to Addison who hopped on the fastest plan she could find to get here.

It was time for Callie to go back in, however Addison had just told Mark and Arizona that they would need to tell her what to do if she would have to choose between delivering the baby or to wait.
'We can always have another baby." Mark said trying to get Arizona to realize that the odds of Callie surviving would go way up if there wasn't a baby inside her.
'No you cannot screw Callie again, face it Mark you aren't a part of this. It's me and Callie no one else." Arizona yelled at him because after all Callie was the love of her life not his.
'This is my baby, I'm the dad I am, not you. You're nothing...you're nothing." Mark told her, the two had not come to a decision before the time came to take Callie in. Instead they told Addison to use her best judgement.

Just as Izzie was about to scrub in to help Addison with Callie's second surgery she felt the sticky sensation of blood rushing down her leg. Looking down she knew instantly something was off with the baby and her heart sank. Addison who was scrubbing in right next to her got to her side after seeing what had happened and figuring out Izzie was having a baby.
'Kepner, take Stevens up to labour and delivery. Stay with her at all times, get someone to help you. This baby has to come out now." Addison yelled at April who had just walked in taking her by surprise.
"Should I inform Dr. Karev?' April asked as they wheeled a barely conscious Izzie on a gurney to the nearest elevator.
"He's about to scrub in on a surgery that will hopefully save your co-workers life, let me worry about Alex." Addison said pushing the button on the elevator sending April and now Jackson up to go and delivery the baby inside Izzie.

"Alright the bleeding the brain had been taken care of." Derek said relieved that he and Meredith had done it. All that was left in their department was to get Callie to wake up.
'I'm telling you Teddy I can do this, I've done it with Burke a thousand times. It will save her life." Cristina told Teddy trying to get Teddy to reason with her. She wanted to do a surgery that would take most of the pressure off Callie and her heart but Teddy didn't think she could do it.
"Let her do it Teddy." Owen stepped in knowing that Cristina was doing the right thing, Teddy sighed and let Cristina do it effectively saving Callie's life. The surgery went smoothly after that and now all they had to do was wait for Callie to wake up.

"Oh Dr. Karev I thought you would be with your wife. Isn't she delivering the baby now?' A nurse asked Alex as he walked out of the OR. He had noticed that Izzie wasn't in the OR but Alex just assumed she was keeping an eye on Robbins,
"What are you talking about? She isn't due for weeks." Alex said having no idea what had taken place earlier since Addison hasn't bothered to tell him that his wife was up in labour and delivery having their baby.
"Her placenta tore; Dr. Montgomery sent Dr, Kepner and Dr. Avery up with her before she went into Callie's surgery. I think they're still operating, I've heard it's been touch and go." The nurse explained but before she could finish Alex took off running trying to get to Izzie and the baby hoping that they were both okay.

"I want Alex!" Izzie yelled at Jackson and April just before she was about to be put under. They were all scared since they were going to be delivering their friends child.
"I know you do Izzie; I bet he's on his way right now." April said trying to get Izzie to calm down hoping that it would help stop the bleeding she was experiencing.
'Then get him here now and Addison too. I want them to be here." Izzie yelled at both of them before she was put under and everything went black.

"Alright Callie you did good, all you have to do now is wake up." Bailey told Callie who was still sleeping, carefully she checked the monitors moving around Arizona who was sleeping right beside Callie. Quickly she left giving them some space but she stayed lose by just waiting for Callie to wake up.
"Marry me." Arizona was woken up by what she thought was Callie, when she opened her eyes she was shocked to see Callie was indeed awake and staring at her.
"What? Callie Oh my okay you're okay." Arizona said laughing and crying at the same time out of relief that Callie was awake and seemed to be doing okay.
'Marry me." Callie said again, after going through all this she had discovered that Arizona was the one. She didn't want to spend another day not being married or with her again.
GREY'S ANATOMY
When Derek entered the elevator he was shocked to find Meredith in there crying. Quickly he stopped the elevator trying to figure out what was wrong.
"I was jealous, of Callie for getting pregnant without trying and Izzie for getting pregnant on their first try. I try and try but I don't get a baby. The universe says screw you Meredith then gives Callie and Izzie a kid. Then Callie nearly dies because she went through a wind shield and Izzie's baby is in the NICU almost dying. I was jealous so if you could tell me what the hell is wrong with everything that would be great." Meredith finished crying ever harder against Derek's chest as his arms encircled her.
"I promise we'll have a baby okay I promise." Derek said hoping that this would be able to settle Meredith down a little so she could stop crying so hard.
GREY'S ANATOMY
When the brain is hurt, it can come back. No one really knows why but it does. We can go back to who we were before. What we did, what we saw, how we felt, ho we loved. The mush heals, we get better. Somehow our brain goes back to where it was before.
