Morgenstern and Herondale
For once…just once…it would be nice if Jace would just back off and leave me alone. Especially since this wasn't the best time! I was shaking my head absentmindedly as Jace rifled through the wardrobe, obviously looking for something for me to wear. Well, he can shove that where the sun don't shine!
Muttering, Jace turned around holding what seemed to be a ridiculously lacy, provocative dress. He was frowning as he said, "Why are your clothes so…revealing?"
I rolled my eyes and snapped, "I didn't pick them, did I?!"
Jace took a step backwards and ditched the horrid scrap of material. "Look, Clary, I don't know what is wrong with you, but you need to snap out of this." I set my jaw and opened my mouth to snarl something at him, but he cut me off. "Don't start an argument with me!" I hissed angrily and yanked myself from the bed, stalking in frustration from the bedroom. I couldn't be bothered with this rubbish! "Clary! Don't walk away from me!"
I blanched in disgust and stomped into the kitchen, completely ignoring him as he followed me persistently.
"Clary!" Jace growled behind me.
I chewed on my lip angrily. "You are not my father!" I snapped and padded to the fridge. I opened it…but it was slammed shut by Jace. I glared at him. "Move." I opened it again, and he pushed it shut. "Jace move now!" I opened it and he repeated. "Move your overweight arse, now!" He slammed the door shut again.
Holding back the urge to sock him, I turned around and huffed as I walked into the living room. I missed Jonathan so much. I needed him badly. If I could get hold of a stele…maybe I could create a portal to Jonathan's bedroom. But how could I hide it from Jace? Sleeping rune sounded good to me. But how could I get him to sleep first?
I turned to Jace. "I'm going to have a nap, I'm tired." I hoped and prayed that he would follow as I padded quietly back to the bedroom. I secretly celebrated when I heard him follow. I reached the bedroom and I flung myself onto the right side of the bed. I felt the bed dip and his body heat behind me; he wrapped his arms around my waist and tucked his chin on my head.
I was beginning to feel guilty!
I am sure he kept his stele under the bed, so, when I heard him lightly snoring, I gently began running my arm under. I felt the cool metal touch my fingertips and I clamped it in my hand. I was going to get killed if he found out! Gulping, I raised the stele and really quickly drew my own sleeping rune on his arm. He stirred but didn't wake as his breathing turned slow and steady.
Yes!
