HELLOOOOO EVERYONE! I'd just like to say a very late MERRY CHRISTMAS for all those who celebrate it!
Sorry it took me a while, but my computer broke. Again. I was hoping I could get my own laptop, buuuuut I didn't. So there's that. Also, I'm appreciating the love I'm getting so far in the latest chapters, really, I am deeply moved by the amount of praise I'm getting! XD So thank you all! But enough of that, we're back with another chapter and I'm pretty sure this is one a few people have been waiting for. And to be honest, I've been waiting a long time for this event too! Took me a long ass time to type out and get into the mood, so expect long chapters. Now, let's get this 2-Part Episode underway, shall we!?
But first...!
Nemezis: Question to the author: Are you going to do a crossover with movies MLP, where Nick to finally discovers a way to return home, and by the turn of events as stealing the crown by Sunset Shimmer, will have the situation under the goal, it can be put to death as warned him Celestia is hoping to help Twilight regain the crown, bear the risk to help? Whether if passed by the mirror did not undergo some minor physical changes in the human body by combining the features of a dragon in a more mature and older?! Or if like was the situation with sirens Dazzlings, any romantic situation?
- I already told a friend of mine that I don't plan on doing the movies unless I bother to make a side story to fit in as a 'filler episode'. But I did think of scenarios of what could happen if I tried, but if I ever feel the need to do it, expect a small side-story. ;) But I probably wouldn't expect new relationships with the Dazzles. Probably flirting, but no relationships.
Chapter master tiger: Dear Nick. What how much info have you got on phone about Mlp?
- Nick: Uh... too much that only I could see...
Sauron: You do not have plans to do to Nicolas his own flock or a version of harem beginning with Fluttershy?
- No and the reason I don't is because harems don't really appeal to me that much. I don't have a problem with it, but it sounds a little too rushed to have everyone suddenly fall in love with the same guy and decide to share. So nope.
ThatGreenDooredBookshop: Heh. Question for depression & Co. Is there any chance of making Pinkie Pie miserable again?
- Charm: Um, well considering our limited screen-time, we won't be coming out again unless King decides to change things up. So no. Good thing though, it pains me to see such a happy mare all sad like that. Don't you think so Happy?
- Happy: Yup, sorry 'bout that folks! I'll give Depression another noogie if he doesn't say sorry!
- Depression: Please don't.
- Rude: Why don't you retards shut up already? We're through with this fucking story so let's just leave it be.
- Hungry: Awww, we are? Damn, I still want some of those apples. Eh, what can ya do?
- Lazy: Hope that answers your question, kid. Now it's time I get more *Yawn!* ... sleep... Zzz...
ThatGreenDooredBookshop: And another question for Fluttershy, when do you think Nick's "eyes will open to the truth"? I am assuming that the truth being his 'true' feelings about you, feelings that transcend that of a platonic relationship.
- Fluttershy: W-What are you talking about!? T-T-There's no way Charm could... um... we're just f-friends, I p-promise! *Blushes* A-At least I h-hope so...
- Now this isn't a question, but I just gotta put this up just because I love it so much. Honestly, I don't know why, but I do. XD
Kyguy: Hey now we all gotta give charm props for trying.
NOW READ!
Disclaimer: I don't own MLP:FiM!
(PS - Remember, if you want to know more about the characters or story, don't be afraid to ask the 'cast' of UToE! Like last chapter with Celestia!)

Chapter 38: Return of Disharmony!
"... you sure?"
"For the tenth time Applejack, yes. He's fine."
"It doesn't look that way to me."
"He's just doing his job, sis. Leave 'im be."
"It's not the job I'm worried about, Big Mac!"
Applejack turned her head from her older brother and spotted Nicholas in the apple orchard.
"He's been acting a bit... weird lately."
It's been a few days since the clone mishap. 4 days to be exact. And Nicholas, feeling bad about eating their stock, decided to lend a hand with picking apples. In fact, he felt so bad about it, that he chose not to join his class on their field trip to Canterlot. But that wasn't the case here. Like Twilight, Applejack grew a little concerned about Nicholas' well-being.
It wasn't anything too drastic like a sudden change in personality.
Instead, it was more like... drifting.
In body, he was focused on working. Right now, he was flying near the tree tops and dropping apples down into buckets. However, in Applejack's eyes, Nicholas wasn't all there. His eyes were unfocused, as if he troubled by something wrong. Because of this, Applejack had decided to confront the teen, but all she got was "Everything's all good. Nothin' to worry about, AJ." before he went back to work. But she saw it.
The way he smiled at her. It looked forced.
"Applejack," Big Macintosh sighed as he hooked himself up to a large wagon. "I said leave it be. He's acting the same way he normally does." He began his trek towards the orchard to retrieve the buckets he left out, which now had freshly picked apples. He sent Applejack a short glance before turning his head. "If anything, he's working nearly as hard as the first time he helped us."
Before the cowgirl could retort, the sound of rushing hooves caught their attention.
"Applejack!" Both siblings turned to the source of the voice, already recognizing it before they could see a purple unicorn gallop around the corner. "Applejack, it's an emergency!" Twilight hollered as she skidded to a halt. "What is it, Twi?" Hearing the urgency in her friends voice made Applejack forget about her earlier conversation with Big Mac. She stepped up with a concerned expression. "*Huff, Huff!* Spike just got... a letter... from Princess Celestia..." Twilight answered through heavy breaths.
Meanwhile, nobody noticed that Nicholas had stopped his work due to a familiar sensation building up in his chest. Turning away from the tree just in time, Nicholas let loose burst of flames and quickly caught a scroll before it could fall to the ground. It had Luna's crest over the seal. Putting the bucket of apples down, he opened the scroll and silently read over its contents. "..."
His eyes widened.
"What did the princess say!?" Applejack asked.
"No time... we need to... get to Canterlot as... fast as possible!" Twilight coughed out from her dried throat. "We?" Applejack repeated. Once her breathing evened out, the unicorn stood straight and nodded. "Yes, Princess Celestia called for all of us! Including Nicholas, but he wasn't at Fluttershy's cottage!" The purple mare's head whipped around as she tried to find their friend. "I heard he was here?"
"Uuuh, about that..." Big Macintosh coughed out as he gestured a hoof towards the trees.
Gone was Nicholas and all that was left was an open scroll across the grass.
They didn't notice the blur that flew through the air.
10 Minutes Later...
"I'm... I'm here!" Out of breath, Nicholas pushed open the large doors and rushed into the room. He was drenched in sweat, but it was to be expected after flying from Ponyville all the way to Canterlot. Not only that, but run through several halls trying to find his destination. Nonetheless, he made it and the first thing he saw were the surprised faces of the Mane 6.
Rainbow Dash, being the first to notice how stiff Nicholas' twitching wings, gaped in disbelief. "Dude, did you seriously fly all the way here!?"
"Now's not the time!" Nicholas wheezed as he trudged forward on burning legs. "Princess Luna called for me because of an emergency!?" If there was one thing Nicholas knew, it was to always respond to his teacher's summons. In a world filled with magic, any situation could be dangerous depending on what had happened.
"You are correct, Nicholas." Celestia nodded as she stepped down from her throne, eyes hardened as she approached the group. "The reason you've been summoned is because an old, powerful evil had been released." This got murmurs from the girls and narrowed eyes from Nicholas, who was already understanding what - or better yet, who - was the 'old, powerful evil'. "Please, follow me." The alicorn instructed as she walked by the group and led them down the halls.
"Princess Celestia," Twilight started as soon as she caught up to her mentor. "Back in Ponyville, things have gotten out of hand! The weathclouds had turned into cotton candy and started raining chocolate milk, t-the animals mutated and my magic wasn't working-"
"I know. Nopony's magic could work against his." Celestia muttered with narrowed eyes.
"And 'he' would be...?" Nicholas inquired with crossed arms.
"I'm sure you already know, Nicholas." Celestia said. The girls looked at the human with questioning eyes, but the teen didn't say anything. If someone had to explain things to them without ruining the timeline, it had to be their leader. "The strange things that are happening are because of an old foe, an incredibly strong being who's bested countless ponies for centuries. His magic had thrown the nations into anarchy, terrorizing any and all beings. Unicorn, Earth Ponies, and Pegasi alike, none were free from his rule. His name was Discord." The name left a bad taste in Celestia's mouth. "A draconequus who's abilities break the fabric of reality itself."
Gasps rang through the girls. A creature who could bend reality? The thought of meeting such a being sent fear through several of the girls. Especially Fluttershy, who stuck closely to Nicholas. Pinkie Pie tried to keep up her cheery smile, but found it difficult in such a situation.
Celestia continued her way until they made it to a closed room. "Before Luna and I had discovered the Elements of Harmony, we were powerless against him. No form of magic was strong enough to defeat him." After opening the doors, the princess revealed a thick metal door to the group and stood in front of it with a grave expression. "We had believed we finally defeated him, but we were wrong. He had escaped his stone prison and threatens the balance of peace." Letting out a sigh, Celestia turned to lock eyes with Twilight Sparkle. "Which is why I must entrust the Elements of Harmony to you once more. Should we fail, the world will be thrown into chaos once more. "
She allowed the news to sink into their heads for as long as they needed. Eventually, Twilight took in a deep breath before giving her mentor a confident nod.
"We'll do what we have to, Princess."
"What about me?" Nicholas asked with crossed arms. "I'll just be a liability."
"Not exactly." Celestia countered, earning an arched brow from the human. "You see, from what Luna has told me, you're magic is nearly identical to Discord himself. Which means you have a certain degree of resistance against his magic. You'll act as a bodyguard for Twilight and her friends to help defeat Discord once and for all." Right, he had forgotten about that. The night he was told by Luna herself what kind of magic he had... Nicholas nodded as Celestia began to unlock the metal door.
"T-This is scary..." He heard whimpering at his side and found Fluttershy cowering behind her mane.
He ran a hand through her hair and sent her a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, Shy. Thing's will turn out just fine. Trust me."
'Just give it a couple of seconds before the real chaos starts...' Nicholas thought to himself as Celestia's magic took hold of a crystal box and levitated it over to them. "I have the utmost faith in you, my ponies." Celestia praised. "Now, take these elements and defeat-" As soon as the box unlocked and opened, all eyes widened and the jaws dropped just like the empty box. 'And there's the plot twist.' Nicholas thought in dry humor.
"B-But, this doesn't make any sense!" Celestia sputtered as she looked down at the case with panicking eyes. She began to pace back and forth. "That vault had been protected by a magic spell only I could break! Who could have-" It finally clicked in her brain just as laughter riveted around the room. Acting on reflex, her horn lit up as she took a battle stance. Nicholas wasn't far from the same reaction.
His hands were glowing a dark red.
"Sense?" A disembodied voice echoed throughout the room. The girls backed up against each other while Celestia and Nicholas looked around the room for the source of the voice. "Why, what fun is there in making sense...?"
"Discord!" Celestia barked in anger. "Show yourself! Now!"
"Ohoho, quick-tempered as always aren't you, Celestia?"
The laughing voice continued to taunt, except this time, the source seemed to originate from one of the windows. A window with a strange creature, some sort of chimera, who was made up of parts of different animals. It floated above a group of dismayed ponies, wielding puppet strings in all of his differing limbs.
The chimera had the head of a horse with a deer antler for a right horn and a blue goat horn as his left. Amused mismatched sized red eyes, a long fanged tooth, and a goat beard hanging from its chin. It had the right arm of a lion and the left claw of an eagle, the right leg of a green lizard and the left leg of a goat. On its back was the right wing of a bat and its left wing resembled the wing of a pegasus. Lastly, its tail stretched out as a red scaly dragon's tail.
A small flash engulfed the picture before the chimera became animated, its eyes blinking into focus before a toothy grin appeared. "I missed you, you know that?" Discord informed before his image swam from one window to the next. He took a seat on the image of a pegasus, his arms crossed together as he glared at the alicorn. "Been a long time, since I last saw a friendly face. After all, you and Lulu were the ones who imprisoned me." The villain snorted with narrowed eyes. "But you wouldn't know that because I don't turn ponies into stone!"
"What have you done with the Elements of Harmony!?" Celestia roared, stomping a hoof onto the ground.
"Oh? Well I guess you could just say I... 'borrowed' them." Discord snickered as he clicked his eagle's claw. Below him, the images of the elements vanished from the window. The draconequus rolled his red eyes and flapped his lion's paw as Celestia said "You'll never get away with this!" He looked over his lion's paw in a mocking show of disinterest. "Wow, I've forgotten just how uptight you always sounded. Seems thousands of years didn't nothing to change that. Still boring as always."
"Hey!" Discord blinked before seeing a multicolored blur zoom towards him. "Nopony insults the princess!"
Rainbow Dash smashed into the window just as Discord vanished. Once she pulled her face from the glass, the draconequus reappeared with a giddy smile. "Oh, you must be Rainbow Dash! The pegasus who represents the Element of Loyalty?" The mare huffed from her nostrils and glared at the villain. "That's right, I'd never betray my friends!" She shivered when Discord disappeared with a daunting laugh.
"We'll see about that..." He whispered.
"I'd rather not spent my time conversing with a tacky window." Rarity sucked her teeth, only to jump in fright when she saw Discord in the window next to her. "Tacky? I prefer the word illustrious. And I'm guessing little Miss Sassy over here is the Element of Generosity." Discord's eyes lingered around the group as he listed off everyone he knew. "Applejack, Element of Honesty. Fluttershy, Element of Kindness. Twilight, Element of Magic. And my personal favorite... Pinkie Pie, representing the Element of Laughter!" The mismatched being clapped in amusement as he watched the girls cower away from him.
Everyone except Pinkie, who was trying not to laugh. Twilight scolded her friend on being serious, but it seemed difficult as the party pony continued to watch Discord moonwalk atop Twilight's head on the window.
Although Discord did notice one thing.
He acknowledged how Fluttershy cowered behind Nicholas.
A human.
Discord momentarily lost his smile. "You... Color me surprised."
Nicholas shot him a snarky grin and snorted. "I could say the same to you. You look better in person." The human, although he spoke in a joking manner, he didn't let down his guard for a second. He remembers Discord doing nothing too dangerous while the girls were here. But him? That could change a few things up. "A fan?" Discord's image reappeared in all the surrounding windows. All versions of him gazed down at Nicholas. "Consider me flattered, but that's not the case here. I'm just surprised I get to see a human of all things."
That was a real plot-twist.
Nicholas' eyes widened like all the other girls. His magic stopped flowing into his hands as he watched Discord with suspicious eyes. "What do you mean? You've met a human before?" He heard chortling from each window. "A? As in single? Nonsense! I've met thousands! As in plural!" Before the teen could even speak out his mind, Celestia stomped forward with a hardened voice. "Enough talk, Discord. Tell us where you've hidden the Elements of Harmony!"
"W-Wait, answer me-" Discord interrupted Nicholas with an overdramatic groan as his cloned images vanished from the windows other than the one closest to the group. "Booooring! Fine, I'll tell you. But only in my way." His image grew and overshadowed the group as he moved through the windows. "To retrieve your missing elements, just make sense of this change of events. Twists and turns are my master plan, then find the elements back where you began..." With that, the draconequus vanished from the room leaving behind an echoing fit of laughter before it faded away.
"Great! A riddle..." Rainbow Dash grumbled.
Nicholas ignored the overlapping voices of his friends as he made his way over to Princess Celestia. "What was Discord talking about, Celestia!?" The teen asked in a rush. The princess sighed, already feeling overwhelmed by everything. She trotted past him, giving Nicholas a small side-glance. "I'm sorry, but now's not the time to be asking questions. Right now, Discord is loose and the world could end as we know it. Finding the Elements is top priority, is that clear?"
He was just denied information about something involving his race. But nonetheless, Nicholas balled his hands into fists and held his tongue as the Mane 6 all nodded their heads. "I'm leaving the fate of Equestria in your hooves. Please, for the sake of everypony, stop Discord once and for all." While the others acknowledged the faith Celestia placed over them, Twilight had been thinking over Discord's riddle in her head.
'Twists and turns... twists and turns... back where we began...' She thought before it finally came to her. "The Canterlot Royal Garden! Discord must've hidden the Elements of Harmony in the maze!"
Once again, Nicholas was left standing quietly. He could say anything to stop them from walking into a trap, but it could very well change up their future.
While the Mane 6 charged galloped out of the vault room, Nicholas stayed behind. "Don't think we're done here." Celestia saw his head turn and saw his eyes flash red. "I will get answers." Making sure his point got across, Nicholas wasted no time flying after the girls, leaving Celestia alone in the room.
It had only taken a couple of minutes to make their way through the castle and out into the Royal Garden. However, just as the maze came into view, Fluttershy was the first to voice their fears and take a step away from the maze entrance. "W-We have to g-go through th-there…?"
Next to her, she heard a snort. "Nope!" Rainbow Dash stepped forward with a cocky smirk, stretching out her wings. "Dumb Discord forgot that we have these babies! I'll find those Elements in no time!"
However, as soon as Rainbow Dash's hooves left the ground, a snap was heard before her wings flashed and vanished from her back. "MY WINGS!" She cried out in disbelief. It wasn't just her that lost something vital. Around her, the horns and wings of everyone else began to disappear from their bodies.
Nicholas watched the girls panic and nearly lost his balance when he felt the weight of his wings disappear. "Well, that happened." He said absentmindedly as he jokingly thought about how he was nearly a normal human. He still had his tail.
Her head spinning from the crash landing, Rainbow Dash swore she heard more of Discord's mocking laughter.
She wasn't hallucinating.
A bright green light began appeared as a magic balled formed in front of them. Soon enough, the real draconequus himself popped into existence and reeled back with more of his evil laughter. "You should see the looks on your faces right now! Priceless, hahaha!" He teased the ponies.
"Give us our horns and wings back!" Twilight demanded with an angry scowl.
"See, that's the thing." Discord grinned as he held up a claw. "They'll come back in due time, but allow me to explain." With a flash, Discord disappeared and reappeared next to Applejack, nudging his elbow into her side. "I only took them to ensure there will be no cheating in my little game. You see, this is the first rule."
He slithered over to an irritated Rainbow Dash and a scared Fluttershy. "No flying."
He finally made his way over to Twilight and rubbed his lion's paw along her cheek. "And no magic." The purple unicorn gulped.
"First rule?" Nicholas pondered aloud.
"Yep." The villain chirped before he sat atop one of the trimmed bushes of the maze. "Second rule is that everyone must play or else the game is over and I win…" He snickered to himself. He could see it in their eyes. His rules put them at a clear disadvantage. Not like they even had one against a being who could literally bend time and space to his will. Still, their pain was his gain.
"With that, I must bid you farewell." Discord floated into the air with a fit of cheers. "Good luck everyone, hehehe!" He then flashed out of existence and left the group to themselves.
"Never fear!" Twilight spoke up with a resolved smile. "After all, we still have each other!" One by one, her words seemed to have effect on her friends. Rainbow Dash nodded her head. "Twilight's right! After all, she said we can do anything as long as we're together!"
"Not only that," Fluttershy added in with a smile, looking at Nicholas. "But Nicholas doesn't have a horn. Which means he can still use magic-"
"Shy, shush!" The teen rushed to quiet his friend, but it was too late.
"I knew there was more than meets the eye!" Discord's voice returned, but nobody had been able to find where he was. "To think a mere human could use magic? Truly outstanding!" Before Nicholas could do anything, he saw the world spin around him and heard the terrified screams of the girls.
"What the hell!?" Nicholas screamed as he locked eyes with an upside-down Discord. Except it wasn't the draconequus who was upside-down.
"Do accept my apology. Or don't." Discord laughed as he juggled Nicholas' head between his mismatched hands. "But because I don't know what part of you casts the magic, I'll just settle for your head." Discord righted Nicholas' head in his hold before adjusting the teen so he could look down. He saw his own body, with no head, flipping out as his arms touched the stump on his neck.
The girls who watched his body looked appalled. Even Pinkie Pie didn't think it was funny. In fact, the mare looked a bit sick.
"How am I still breathing!?" Nicholas exclaimed. Magic be damned, he was technically just beheaded. Separated from his neck, the only thing connecting him to his lungs.
"Ah, the wonders of magic…" Discord hummed to himself. "Anyway, I think I'll keep an eye on you for the time being. But for the rest of you, the game already started! Chop chop!" He received numerous outcries from the Mane 6. Even Fluttershy was yelling, "But that's not fair! Nicholas can play if he's just a head!" Hearing all the shouts of him being unfair, it eventually worn down his patience.
A God of Chaos he may be, but he wasn't that much of a cheater.
"Oh, calm down!" Discord rolled his eyes before snapping his eagle's claw. A flash of light soon engulfed Nicholas' body and once it vanished, the beheaded body was left standing. With no shirt. And a giant eyeball on his torso. "There, see? Now his body can participate just like the rest of ya!" Rarity gagged when she saw the eye blink with an audible squishing sound.
"Now," Using his magic, Discord levitated each of them into certain spots of the labyrinth's entrance. Before anyone could object, thick bushes rose from the ground and separated everyone from each other. "Let the games begin." He said with a dark chuckle.
Realizing that they were entrapped, the group soon pushed away their complaints and made their way through the maze.
"Now what to do with you," Nicholas stopped staring at his own body as it made its way through the maze with ease, the giant eye on his chest actually helping it navigate. He saw a grinning Discord looking down at him before he snapped his claws, summoning a bubble that encased Nicholas' head. "There, now you can float around so I don't have to lug you around."
Nicholas glared.
"Really?" Discord scoffed as he began to float over the labyrinth. "If you think glaring will irritate me, you'll be doing that for years."
"You said you met other humans." Nicholas reminded with narrowed eyes. "How? Where?"
"Straight to the point? Wow, kids nowadays are getting impatient." The draconequus taunted as he summoned a smoothie cup, drinking it through a wacky bendy straw. He held up a claw. "Hold on for a minute, gotta make sure the your body and the girls aren't cheating." He snapped his claws and made another version of himself, who saluted before turning invisible and flying off.
"Now, where was I?" The draconequus pondered before he nodded. "Ah yes. It's always 'this or that' with people. They can never enjoy things without questioning everything." He took a second to think back to all the times ponies encountered him, spouting the same things about his defeat. Discord rolled his eyes. "Nevermind about that. How about we talk about you? After all, it's not every day I get to see a magical human with wings and a tail."
"How about you answer my fucking questions?" Nicholas growled.
"Oh, the profanity!" The chimera hovered an overdramatic lion's paw over his face. When he saw Nicholas' face, all he got was a straight face. "Really? Not even a smile. Tough crowd." Seeing Nicholas was in no laughing mood, the draconequus sighed before he held Nicholas' bubble in his right paw. "Fine, let's chat about you first. You're 15 years old, full name is Nicholas Terrell Burton, you're the middle child out of 5, and you live-"
"Whoa whoa whoa," Nicholas interjected. "How the hell do you know so much about me?"
"When I pulled your head from your shoulders, I got a quick glimpse into your memories." Discord informed flatly, making Nicholas inch away in caution. "Don't worry, I didn't see everything. That'd be weird. But I do know that you're prone to curse when you're excited or stressed." He grinned. "And I also know that Twilight Sparkle is the one who brought you here. A grand feat for an average unicorn."
"But enough with the boring stuff." The draconequus waved his hands as he leaned in with an interested smile. "Let's talk about your mutation! From your body, you're part dragon and bat. And you have chaos magic, just like me!" Nicholas, while Discord was spouting out nonsense, was still on the fact that his mind was invaded by someone like him. Favorite character be damned, his memories were his own! "… I'd expected no less from Number 6!" That's when Nicholas tuned back in.
"Number 6? What's that supposed to mean?" The teen questioned.
"You! You're the sixth being chosen to wield Chaos Magic!" Discord said. Nicholas only stared at him in a way that demanded a better explanation. The draconequus clicked his teeth and brushed his beard. "It's hard to put it into words. Something about cosmic selection… but it all starts with Chaos as a whole."
Nicholas would've sat down if he had a body, but all he could do was float as Discord began his 'lesson'. Unsurprisingly, the villain against summoned a teacher's outfit and a desk that hovered in front of Nicholas.
"To start things off, let's just say Chaos is a sentient being." Discord coughed into his lion's paw. "Like your teacher Lulu explained, the world is in perfect balance between Chaos and Harmony. However, Chaos has more of a pull in reality. You could call it destiny. Or karma." Nicholas was following along for the most part. "You mean to tell me Chaos was the reason I was mutated?"
"Correct! In fact, you can thank Chaos for my birth!" Discord pulled out a wallet from who-knows-where and pointed a claw at each picture. First picture was of a baby Discord, floating in space and sucking on his thumb. "At the very beginning of time, before anything was even real, Chaos tore off a piece of itself and that piece grew into a little baby. And as you can see, I'm that baby! Which means I'm technically Chaos itself!" His claw moved down to the next picture, which was a huge explosion. "Secondly, you could say I sneezed and accidentally created the entire universe."
"You mean to tell me, you were the Big Bang?" Nicholas clarified flatly.
"Yup!" Discord didn't even think about the fact that he was technically the 'God' who created life. All he did was make the wallet of pictures vanish before continuing with his lecture. "Although, I accidentally burnt up a crap-load of magic doing so. Nearly died actually." He mumbled that last bit with an embarrassed chuckle. "Anyways, so-and-so billion years later, I began to notice the course of life around me. And let me tell you, shit was crazy!"
"I didn't know you curse."
"When you've seen the things I've seen, you'd be doing more than curse!" He snapping his claws with a grin and pointing at Nicholas. "Like talk to a floating head." Discord only received a bland stare in return.
"Yeesh, tough crowd. Anyway, you were talking about being 'Number 6'?" He got a nod in response. "I'll let you in on a secret. Chaos comes in many forms that isn't nature or reality bending like mine. I'm the first chosen by Chaos and I can control reality itself. There are others chosen, but weren't born like me. Which brings me to the topic, 'Chaos can corrupt'."
"Corrupting?" Nicholas repeated. "But I'm not corrupted."
"You aren't. Yet. But the same can't be said for the other 4 before you." Discord scratched his chin as he held up a finger. "Chaos Number 2: His powers were more of magic absorbing. He gained that power through dark magic. Mr. Grump was so corrupted that he wanted destruction of all equine life, the simple stuff. Until he got caught by the Alicorns. I wonder if he's still alive down there…" He started to daydream about said being until he got a forced cough from his 'audience'. By now, Nicholas wasn't afraid to admit he was interested. "Oh right, on to Number 3! As you probably know, she goes by the name of Nightmare Moon."
Nicholas' eyes widened. "Princess Luna?"
"Sadly, Lulu eventually became corrupted from the jealousy she felt towards Sunbutt." Nicholas let out a small chuckle. Something that Discord noticed, much to his pleasure. "Her powers involved controlling and making nightmares. Dream Walking too. Number 4 was-"
"Wait, a minute. How do you even know this?" Nicholas interjected with furrowed brows. "If I'm guessing correctly, you should've been imprisoned in stone by that time."
"Just because I was a lawn ornament doesn't mean I can't hear or see. Same goes to feeling Chaos in the air." Discord let out a nostalgic sigh as he took a moment to remember the epic feud in the sky between sisters that ended with one of the biggest light-shows he'd ever seen. "Now, can I continue?" Another nod. "Good. Now Number 4, boy was he a nutcase. He was a greedy little bastard who used raw Dark Magic. His mind was so messed up that he believed everything and anything was owned by him. Seeing him controlling ponies left a bad taste in my mouth."
"Why? I thought you'd get off on that kind of stuff."
"Trust me, I'm all for a good show of Chaos. But to live in a world where everything is united under the control of a single-minded deranged king?" Discord pretended to gag in his throat. "Not my kind of fun."
'King?' Nicholas thought to himself. 'Does he mean Sombra?'
"Number 5 was some other female to get picked. Nothing special about her, at least not to me. But I think her name was Chryssie…? Ah, forget it. Anyway, all she could do was shape-shift her body down to the tiniest cell. She only caught my attention once she managed to produce an entire species like her. The downside? They can only live by eating Love. Although she was a feisty one..." Discord snickered while Nicholas rolled his eyes, already realizing it was Chrysalis that he was talking about.
Then he realized that it was his turn. "What about me? I may not be corrupted, but I must have some special powers. It's not just fire, right?"
"That's the thing." Discord's mouth stretched into a grin as the school scenario vanished from their eyes. Nicholas panicked a little when Discord's claws took hold of his bubble. "You can bend reality just like me!"
"Mismatched bitch say what now?"
"It's exactly like I said!" Nicholas found himself being held at Discord's side as if he was a basketball. For some reason, he felt a weird sensation run through his head before disappearing. The draconequus hummed to himself and tapped his chin. "Although I didn't expect that. I thought Reality Bending was my thing. Not only that, but when I just scanned you, it says you have separate abilities. Control, creating, and being immune to fire is one half and the other half is somewhat similar to me." Nicholas grunted as he floated out of Discord's grip and hovered into his face.
"You're seriously telling me that I can do everything you can do?"
"Almost everything. But if you understand what you're doing, yeah. Imagination is the key, ya know." Discord nodded. He watched as Nicholas took on a face of extreme effort and rolled his eyes. "Stop before you make your body shit himself. Chaos will only listen to its chosen host when the host comes to accept it."
"How do I control it?" Nicholas breathed out, wincing from the slight headache he felt.
"Hell if I know." Discord shrugged his shoulders. "It came naturally to me. But enough with the boring stuff. Aren't you excited!?" The villain cheered and took hold of Nicholas' bubble again. "We're Chaos Buddies!" The draconequus let out a loud gasp. "Better yet, we're like family! You even have the same powers like me! It's almost like you're my son!"
For a moment, Nicholas was actually smiling at the prospect of controlling reality itself. That and more abilities. However, he was happy until he heard the word 'son' leave Discord's mouth. His eyes narrowed and his voice hardened.
"Don't ever call yourself my father." The teen snarled.
Surprisingly, Discord flinched away from the growling bubbled head. "Fine. Wouldn't want you to go all moody on me." The chaotic being muttered with crossed arms. Nicholas said nothing in return, but when Discord looked down at him, he noticed that the teen was frowning with misty eyes. He sighed. "But I guess it can't be helped when you miss your family."
Nicholas wasn't afraid to nod.
"What if I told you I could send you back?" Discord asked quietly. He had expected the teen to explode in a fit of happiness at the chance to see his family. But instead he was met with a strong scowl as Nicholas turned his head. "Don't bother." The teen grumbled. "Celestia said I'd get the magic drained out of me and die."
"… Sunbutt really didn't tell you, did she?"
Nicholas sucked his teeth and glared at the draconequus. "Tell me what?"
"It seems she didn't…" For a moment, Discord looked a bit broken hearted and irritated. However, Discord just sighed and simply waved his claw through the air. "Look, let's make a deal. But you can only pick one. Option 1, I tell you everything I know about humans. Or Option 2, I send you back to your family."
"Not that I'm not grateful, but why are you even helping me?" Nicholas questioned with furrowed brows.
"Let's just say Chaos allows one freebie. Which is quite special, considering your situation." Discord smirked. "Now pick."
Nicholas was honestly stumped. He had thought of both possibilities and the possible catches that goes with them. But the actual chance to go back home? This was a choice of a life-time! Nicholas bit his lower lip and closed his eyes, trying to come to a decision.
"GAME OVER!"
Twilight's heart dropped when she heard the announcement. She was out of breath by the time the bushes were pulled back into the ground and her horn returned to her head, leaving her and the others in a small open area.
"But this couldn't be right, who dropped out? Everyone promised to play!" She exclaimed in confusion.
The first thing she saw out of the corner of her eye was the shrinking image of Rainbow Dash as she flew into the air.
But before she could even yell out to her friend, a swishing sound followed by a familiar magic hum rang in her ears. "What in the world-" As soon as her head turned to the side, the words died in her mouth and her pupils shrank into pin-pricks.
But it wasn't her greyish looking friends that caught her off guard.
No, it was the large spinning portal that appeared before a whole Nicholas. His wings were back as well. "Nick!?" She called out, taking notice of how intently his eyes stared into the portal. Behind him was Discord, who had his lion's paw draped over his shoulders.
The teen's head hung low. "I need to do this…" He whispered.
"You'll be able to come back only if Chaos wants you to. But if so, I wouldn't go back and forth if I were you. Wouldn't want to end up in an alternate dimension." Discord patted the teen's shoulder with a chuckle. "And a little warning? The first time can be a little… mind bending."
Hearing that, she finally realized what the portal was for and where it would take him. But he wouldn't fall under Discord's influence, right? Right!? After thinking back to talks with Fluttershy about his depression and witnessing it before it, Twilight could think of no other possibility.
The urgency of the situation flooded her mind and caused her to panic. "Wait, Nicholas! Don't do it!" Twilight raced forward. "Princess Celestia said-"
Without a single glance in her direction, Nicholas took in a deep breath before he pushed his hand into the portal.
He was sucked in immediately.
Nobody noticed Discord's eagle claws twisting around each other behind his back.
OH YEAH BITCHES, DISCORD IS IN THE HOUSE! After making this chapter, I can tell I'm going to enjoy typing out Discord's character from here on out. I like to make things interesting, aka him being the reason EVERYONE'S ALIVE! He's too OP and the show never really clarified the beginning of his existence, so I took that matter into my own hands. A little something for my readers to think about later. But enough about that! It looks like Nicholas took the draconequus up on his deal! The time has finally come people! NICK GET'S TO GO HOME! What awaits him? And what's this about 'Chaos allowing a freebie'!?
You'll have to find out in the next chapter! ;p
Anyway, I'll leave it here for the next chap!
Questions!?
1.) What will Nicholas do with his magic!?
2.) Just what kind of influence did Discord make throughout history!?
3.) What is Celestia and Discord hiding from Nicholas!?
Find out next time!
PLEASE REVIEW! And ask some questions for characters if you want! ;)
(PS - I'm not sure if anyone plans on doing it, but wouldn't anyone mind creating some fanart of Unexpected Turn of Events? I'd appreciate the love if anyone does make or find any artwork!)
