How annoying.

'Another pesky fly,' Levi sneered, narrowing his eyes at Reiner as he tried to draw Kagome into a conversation, 'As if Jaeger isn't bad enough.'

Still, it wasn't all that surprising others would find Kagome interesting (plus he would admit that she was very easy on the eyes), especially that of the male persuasion.

'And the brat is too kind to ward them away herself.' He let out another irritated noise, but made sure to listen in carefully to what Reiner had to say.

"Did you train along side Leonhart?" Kagome asked curiously, pausing her conversion of the tree bark to look at the blond male. She blinked, recognising him as one of the three that had tried to avoid her when Eren had tried to introduce her to his friends.

"Yeah," Reiner sighed, giving Annie a glance to which she copied. He could see her cold eyes narrow at him and he turned away before anyone could notice, "I still can't believe that she was hiding such a big secret like that."

"I'm sorry," Kagome said sincerely, "It must be hard for you and the others that trained along side her." She looked to Eren, who was still unconscious beside her, and let out a breath.

Just how would he react when he woke up?

"I guess I should introduce myself," Reiner quickly drew her attention back to him and he gave her a smirk, "I'm Reiner Braun."

"Kagome Higurashi." The Priestess returned the introduction with a nod and looked down awkwardly, not quite sure what to say next, which she found quite odd herself since she was usually a social person.

She found that Levi and Eren (and a few others like Hange strangely enough) were easy to talk to, but others not so much. It probably had to do with the fact that she was a complete stranger to this world.

"You're quite good with that blade of yours," Reiner could see that she wasn't going to keep the conversation going herself, "Maybe when we get back, you could spar with me?"

Kagome blinked and was about to respond when Levi finally decided to interrupt, "As interesting as it is to watch your attempt at flirting, Cadet Braun," His voice dripped with sarcasm, "You have a position to be in. Get your ass back in line."

Reiner frowned, but he knew he couldn't outright disobey orders, at least not out in the field like this, "Sir." He then directed his horse back to his position, giving Kagome one last glance before he did so.

He would try again later.

"Are you really that ignorant of yourself?" Levi asked with a drawl, causing Kagome to give him a confused look, "Stop drawing attention to yourself." He ordered.

"B-but..." Kagome felt her cheeks redden under his stare, "But I'm not even trying to!" She cried out, trying to appear smaller when a few soldiers looked to her.

"And that's the problem." Levi grumbled, snapping his eyes to Kagome's side when he heard a low groan.

"Eren!" Kagome watched as the brunet's green eyes slowly open before he looked up to her blankly, "How are you feeling?" She asked, spotting Mikasa as she swiftly moved to the wagon's side to look at Eren with concern.

"My head... feels like it's gonna split open," Eren grumbled in pain, trying to remember what had happened. His eyes immediately widened and he tried to sit up, "The Female Titan! What happened!?"

Kagome placed her hands on his shoulders and let him lean against her as he regained his strength, "You transformed and fought her, Eren," She said seriously, observing him intently as he blinked a few times, "But you lost. Do you remember?"

"Somewhat," Eren said slowly and he began to shake once he recalled one very important detail of that fight, "The Female Titan... that stance–!?"

"You're right, Eren," Mikasa said and Eren looked to her with wide eyes and a gaping mouth, "It was Annie. She is the Female Titan."

"N-no..." Eren looked around and he let out a strangled noise once he spotted Annie bound and gagged in a wagon not too far from his own, "I-it can't be!" Her cold eyes stared into his and it felt as if the very air had suddenly been knocked out of him, "How!?"

Kagome sighed before she wrapped her arms around Eren, hugging him as tightly as she could even as he shook against her, "I'm sorry, Eren, but it's the truth," She said into his ear, feeling him collapse onto her, "I promise you that she will pay for her many crimes."

Both Levi and Mikasa had to look away at the sight, but didn't dare to intervene because they knew Eren needed the comfort for the moment.

It didn't mean that they had to like it though.

"Fuck! Fuck!" Eren swore into Kagome's shoulder over and over again, grasping onto her like his life depended on it, "If I lost, then that means you fought against her, Kagome?"

"She was smart enough not to put up a struggle," Kagome answered, "But you need to be prepared, Eren. She may have promised not to transform on the way back, but I can't say what she will do when we reach the walls."

Eren swallowed thickly, avoiding looking in Annie's direction otherwise rage might take him over. Instead, he forced himself to leave the warmth of Kagome's body and watched as she began to fiddle with strips of paper and pieces of tree bark. He shuddered and almost felt lightheaded the instant he could feel Kagome's power.

"We are almost there!" Erwin shouted from the front, firing off a smoke signal so that the soldiers could rejoin into one big group again, "And no Titans to engage!"

"Put your hood up, brat," Levi ordered, noticing that Kagome was staring at Wall Rose, which could be finally seen in the far distance, with wide curious eyes and he remembered that she actually hadn't seen any of the walls yet, "The last thing we need is for you to draw attention to yourself."

The Priestess huffed, but did as Levi asked and made sure her face was shadowed by the large hood of the cloak, "Now that I am seeing the wall for the first time," She paused, knowing that the remaining human population of this world lived behind it, "It's really quite sad that you have to live like caged birds."

And how fitting for her.

Levi snorted, giving Eren a glance, "Remember that we have captured Leonhart for your freedom, Jaeger," He said and Eren nodded slowly, though couldn't look the Corporal in the eye, "Do not feel sorry for her." His lips tightened and he glanced to Kagome, who looked just as tense as he felt.

The promise was off the table now.
