Miles was instructed by Jack to put on a dark coloured ballistic vest over his clothing. Michael and Mitchell took off their cloaks, and wore ballistic vests over their shirts. Next, Michael and Mitchell both grabbed a rifle, which was the same looking rifle that Miles had seen before, and he turned around to see Jack holding out his hand, gesturing towards the Journalist's camera.
"I'll hold onto it for you. It's the ONLY thing we have to use as evidence."
Miles just shrugged then handed Jack his personal camcorder, entrusted it in his hands, while he was given a rifle as well. He was led by the three outside of the armory to a training room. The room was vast and had lightly coloured walls, and there was a section of individual pods lined up in front of some kind of shooting range where in front of it there was a series of protected projectors lined up against the back wall.
"Right so, these are our standard weapons." Michael began explaining "The early Mann, our own lady of peace, had this idea of extracting the pyramid's energy source and of the crystal. It took up 'till the ninety's to perfect this weapon. The result?"
He pointed the rifle up with one hand, and a moving target was projected in mid-air on the range, then a round blue lighted target was being projected in mid-air, and he shot a blue plasma like round, which the gun made a popping noise.
"Electrifying devastation. They wouldn't have stood a chance."
"I missed Upshur on purpose in his cell." Jack called out from behind a control panel.
He pushed a couple of commands on the panel, then the room's luminosity was reduced. Michael brought over Miles to one of the pods, and he showed him how to form his stance holding the weapon, how to fire the weapon properly, and explaining some background of the weapon.
"We call this weapon the EA-5. ENERGY ASPIRATION FIVE. It'll hold about two hundred shots before you need to put more ammo into it."
"Well I guess I'm doing my part in helping this army but, how will this match the power of those lizards?" Miles asked.
"We just have to hope for the best." Michael answered.
"I don't mean to disrespect but, I thought that we had a plan." Miles said, crossing his arms.
Michael then went to grab another rifle and shoved it into Miles.
"Oh don't worry, we'll tell you! But first, let's run through a couple of tests!"
"You're up Upshur!" Jack barked.
Biffy, Holger, and Kimmie were STILL waiting for Biffy's parents about their lab.
"Weapon of Goldstein's should be really super strong like HOLGER!" Holger said.
"You know WHAT?!" Biffy angrily asked, getting up on his feet.
"What?" Kimmie questioned with curiosity.
"If we have to wait any longer, I'm going to show Lanky over here my weapons and use them!"
"Holger no get it…"
Biffy only gave himself a slap in the face from the annoyance that was coming from Holger.
"But I can't do that only because, I believe we got a limited number of friends."
"Plus like a team of scientist that worked for my mom." Kimmie reminded.
"When are we going back to meet with Lee and stink ninja?" Biffy wondered.
"When Biffy's parents are finished we go, ya?" Holger said.
"SON! WE'RE DONE!" The voice of Biffy's father suddenly called out from behind the door.
"FINALLY!" Biffy said with relief.
"I wonder why they made a weapon that creates an EMP?" Kimmie asked.
"Then we be going to find out truth." Holger said.
The three walked into Biffy's parents' lab, and Biffy's mom showed them a little marble sized device in her palm.
"That's it?" Kimmie asked.
"That's it." Biffy's mom said.
"If it really works, then don't throw it at Holger! Holger still want this suit to work!"
"It's not really an Electro Magnetic Pulse designed to break electronics." Biffy's dad said, walking in. "It's more designed for compromising energy spheres."
"Energy spheres?" Biffy asked. "So what, they have some kind of impenetrable shield or something?"
"According to the councils research, that's what they have discovered son." Biffy's dad said.
"VERY dangerous creatures! Those lizards are merciless!" Biffy's mom added.
"Who's going to use them?" Kimmie asked.
"HOLGER!" Holger screamed.
"Uh, no." Biffy said.
"Aww…"
"We said it can break energy spheres but it doesn't mean it doesn't affect equipment." Biffy's mom said.
"So yeah um Holger…If you are close to when that thing goes off, you're going to be stuck in my mom's hunk of metal of a battlesuit." Kimmie said.
"Holger get it now." Holger mused.
Back with Lee, his friends, mother, and the former members of Cassandra's research project decided to take a turn and head towards the laboratory in which Biffy's parents were in.
"Are those creatures unstoppable?" Lee wondered.
"They can't be!" Tina cried.
"I don't think that the council would know about anything about them." Veronica stated.
"Only Finnwich really knows what those things are capable of, but of course he wouldn't trust a guy like me." Lynch said.
"Go figure…" Lee grumbled.
"What would those monsters be capable of anyway?" Lawrence asked.
"Other than destroying our race, none of us could really know." Jennifer responded.
"How they're gonna destroy us scares me a lot more than…us dying." Anna said.
"That's convincing…" Lee gloomly said.
"Think about this for a second." Veronica said. "If one of them could be form the world's most powerful company, then what would an army do?"
"Now THAT'S something to think about." Tina exclaimed.
"To think that it all started with him coming out of that pyramid." Lee said.
"I know! It's scary, but still interesting." Tina said with a smile.
"You amaze me Tina." Veronica blurted out.
"Really? Why?" Tina asked.
"Despite the danger we're in, you still manage to find a sense of joy."
Lee's mother eyed Lee and Tina. She wanted to say something about it but it was best for her to keep it to herself.
"Yes. Keep that spirit and will flowing." Sue said.
"Ok Mrs. Ping!" Tina responded.
"Let's not get off topic here folks." Lawrence said. "We still have a couple of friends to regroup with, then we need to get down to the dangerous parts."
"Do you think Miles would be down there?" Jenny asked.
"I hope so…" Veronica mumbled worriedly.
"For now let's just pull ourselves together." Kerrigan said.
"Right." The group all said simultaneously.
The group was then nearing closer to the lab where Biffy's parents were supposed to be.
"Who wants to go first?" Kerrigan asked.
"I want to see Biffy first!" Lee shouted.
"Now, now hang on a minute." Li said. "We won't know what Goldstein's parents are going to do. They could be on high alert and if someone burst into their lab as of right now, they could possibly go a little crazy. Because-"
"Biffy's in there?" Lee interrupted.
"That's one reason." Li said, glaring at his own brother.
At that moment, Biffy came out of the labratory.
"HEY GUYS! What's-"
He then noticed in the group Veronica Victoria, the one who had always given him detention in the past.
"VP."
"I'm in no position to give you detention Goldstein." Veronica jokingly said.
"So...I guess everyone's gotten along with each other, and the teachers are all back!"
"And I got my aunt back!" Jenny said, looking at her aunt.
"OH! So THAT'S your aunt." Biffy realized as he noticed Anna.
"That's me!" Anna said. "Miles was my original idea."
"It was?" Biffy asked, confused.
"Let's just say Li over here." Jenny pointed to The Serpent. "Locked her up because she had the idea in sending someone like Miles. Then he got the bright idea and called him over."
"That explains a lot." Biffy nodded.
"Biffy T. Goldstein, what are your parents working on?" Veronica then asked.
"I think we should take this conversation inside the lab." Biffy said.
Miles was under instruction of Michael on how to handle his weapon. Miles practiced his shooting with the EA-5, and tried to hit the targets being projected. After the simulation was over, Jack presented him with his results.
"Not bad, but not astonishing either." He said, looking down at his panel.
Michael and Mitchell went over to check Miles' score.
"Seventy percent accuracy..." Mitchell said.
"Good start." Michael complimented Miles'.
"Now that that's over, I want my camera back." Miles said.
"Of course."
Miles walked over to Jack, and got his camcorder back, then put it away.
"I took the liberty in recording this training session. If you want to use it when you write your report once this whole ordeal is over, then I suppose you can."
"So, what now?" Miles asked.
An intercom suddenly went off, and the voice of Miss Alice aka Elizabeth Alice Mann was heard.
"Attention Miles Usphur, please report to the crystal room. Repeat. Please report to the crystal room."
"You better go." Michael said, gesturing towards the door.
Miles took off his rifle, pulling the strap over his body in order to take it off, and held it towards Michael.
"I suppose I have to give this back huh?"
"No, it's yours to keep!" Michael said.
Miles put the weapon back onto his body, and allowed it to dangle on his left side of himself.
"Alright, I guess it's going to be a friendly chat then." Miles said, as he left the room.
Miles walked towards the facility elevator. Along the way, he was greeted by some of the other Dolphin soldiers, with a simple smile and wave. Others just told Miles "Good Luck with your life...I hope your relationship goes well."
As he entered the elevator, Miles was happy about the kindness that these Dolphin-headed soldiers were offering him but also was rather curious of what Elizabeth had called him for. He was still amazed of the fact she was the original Mann in Mann Wurst Finnwich Ping, the fact that she hid herself for a long time, building up this army, ready to strike back at His Eminence's original plans, while getting some vengeance at the side for her friends Wurst, Finnwich, and Ping.
The elevator stopped at the room, and was greeted by the green illumination of the giant crystal at the end of the large floor. At the bottom of the stair, Elizabeth stood motionless, whispering to herself.
"You wanted to see me?" Miles asked, breaking her out of her train of thought.
"Ah yes...The crystal." She said.
"What about it?" Miles asked.
"You do remember how we were able to see your memories thanks to the crystal, right?"
"Yes I do."
She then pointed towards the crystal with her palm out, then spoke a line.
"Oh great crystal, I call upon your wisdom! Show us your wisdom, show us your pain, I call upon the future hidden beneath your domain!"
Miles took hold of his camera and began to record the crystal. The large room went dark, and the green light was the only source of light throughout the entire dome-like area.
The crystal began to project flashed images in the air. What they both witnessed was, the three lined symbol that Miles was able to recognize as Lee's arm tattoo. The other was the lizards, charging the Dolphin army, while someone who looked exactly like Lee, was glowing bright blue, and stood fighting with the Dolphin army.
After that, it showed an instant flash of him and Veronica holding hands, with determined looks on their faces, and that's when the crystal's presentation ended, and the rooms brightness returned to normal.
"What IS Lee supposed to be? And why did it show me and...me and..."
"The answers will come. These images can be defined in so many interpretations but it is up to all of us to determine the future based on our actions."
AH THERE! FINISHED! What did you guys think? Not bad for coming back after three months huh? Yay? Nay? Look out for Chapter 37 in the future!
