Chapter 36: A little ray of sunshine
Robin, Scout, and I get in the train station.
"You will have two homes, one in the capitol and one in district 11," Suzie says, "You can still perform if you'd like."
"I would love to," I say, "Tell my fans I'm alright?"
"I will," she says nodding. Suzie has become my new escort. Cecelia and Conner were buried, and Sunny was buried in a very Sunny area. We get on the train and a few people smile at me, glad to see I made it out alight. Robin holds my hand as we get on the train.
As we arrive, the first place we go to is his parents house. I hope they're ok; his parents and siblings were always nice to me. His mom flashes me a smile like she always used to do. And hugs him.
"Thank you for keeping him safe," she says to me.
"Where's dad?" he asks.
"He was killed…..a peacekeeper strangled him to death." He wipes the tears out of his eyes as his two younger siblings hug him. Next we stop at my house, Scout runs right upstairs to my room and sleeps on my bed.
"Okay, so my house is in tact," I say, "But where are my parents?" I look out a window, and see their bodies on the ground.
I never had a chance to tell them how much they meant to me.
"Daisy…"Robin says hugging me," It's alright." I'm running out of tears. We know the next spot to go; the tree.
We head there to see the open landscape, the only thing that is even close to looking the same.
"If they were alive, they'd be here by now," he says running his fingers through his hair.
"Maybe we should look around," I say. We ask a few people in town; George is dead, but we don't know where Mabel is. Finally, someone (her parents) says she died alongside a few other people. Scarlet and Raven made it out ok, and Robin and I walk back to the tree.
Next chapter….coming soon.
