Chapter 38: Mayhem Part 1

Inside the Hokage Monument, Konoha

Yukio and Mustang still had problems in defeating the recently twisted Kaname Tousen. Sure they had managed to pull a few strings which resulted in Kaname getting serious injuries, but he stubbornly continued fighting. This made the exorcist and the alchemist very concerned. Mustang tried to deliver fire-based alchemy attacks on the monstrosity, but he resisted it.

"Damn it! He's getting more and more powerful! Every time we land damage on him, his power increases!" Mustang yelled in fury. He was also struggling in resisting Kaname's fast attacks.

"I know, but there is something that I've seen. Mustang, have noticed any differences since we first saw him?" Yukio asked while adjusting his glasses.

This surprised Mustang and the Flame Alchemist decided to take a good look at their adversary. The moment he watched, Mustang could realize that despite Kaname being powerful, he wasn't strong enough to carry with it inside. The former Soul Reaper's monstrous body was actually beginning to crack. Even his Hollow-shell was on the verge of shattering. And if he did hear correctly, Kaname was slightly wincing in pain.

"I see it now! This energy is too strong for him to handle! He will die if he keeps this up!" Mustang remarked cautiously.

The monster was now preparing to charge against them, making the partners cautious about his movements. Yukio readied his guns.

"Watch out! He's probably gonna use his Sonido to get closer to us! I'll take care of this!" Yukio declared and aimed his guns at Kaname's bug-like eyes.

The young exorcist shot a few bullets on his target's eyes, but Kaname stubbornly resisted that pain. He used his Sonido and appeared right before the two comrades. He was now loading a double-Cero attack at them. They tried immediately to avoid that attack.

"HE'S ABOUT TO SHOOT, TAKE COVER!" Mustang shouted.

But before the Ceros could be released, something happened to Kaname. His body began trembling and he screamed in pain. In fact, his body was about to explode. The two comrades noticed this and became shocked. Kaname's body was becoming more unstable and in a few seconds, his body exploded. Large chunks of blood were blown into every direction. And the purple energy left of it could still be seen, on Kaname's Hollow-shell. Yukio and Mustang went over to study what was left of their adversary.

"This….this power was too powerful for him. He couldn't bare it any longer!" Mustang said with shock. Yukio nodded.

"I don't know what to say about this….but I pitied him, really" Yukio expressed his sympathy towards him.

"For some reason, I actually agree with you. He was probably just another puppet in Aizen's schemes" Mustang remarked, but his face was soon changed into determination. "So what do you say, Okumura? Shall we help out Kakashi and the others?" he asked with a smirk. The four-eyed exorcist chuckled and adjusted his glasses.

"Absolutely!" he replied and the two comrades proceeded towards the cavern's inner reaches.

Not far from them, Huey, Kakashi and Yoruichi were still standing toe to toe with Nnoitra in his twisted, but painful state. Huey tried to clash with his scythes, but the Arrancar overpowered him. He sent Huey flying towards a wall in the cavern. But he managed to get back on his feet.

"That creature is just getting more powerful. Are we really capable of defeating something like that?" he wondered while studying him battling Yoruichi and Kakashi.

Kakashi tried to throw a kunai-bomb at him, but even an explosion wouldn't budge him a bit. But he couldn't throw so many, because if he did, the tunnels would collapse. So he decided to try something new. Hi lifted up his headband and eyed Nnoitra with his Sharingan eye.

"Stand back, Yoruichi! I might be able to inflect damage upon him with the Mangekyo Sharingan!" he called out to his partner who used her Shunpo to vanish from her fight with the Arrancar.

Kakashi's left eye was transformed into a Mangekyo Sharingan and he began a genjustsu upon Nnoitra's body. He was completely paralyzed by the jutsu. It was almost as if he was sucked into a hole. But even Kakashi struggled in controlling the jutsu and blood were streaming from his left eye.

"Control it, Kakashi! I can see Nnoitra's body being paralyzed!" Yoruichi encouraged him while watching their adversary struggling in releasing himself from the jutsu.

As the battle occurred down there, Aizen was watching it with irritation in his eyes. He couldn't believe how useless Nnoitra really was despite him being an Espada. He had even sensed Kaname's Spiritual Pressure vanishing. This only confirmed that he was dead. But he reached for his pocket and held onto something of great value: the Hogyoku. The fallen Soul Reaper chuckled lightly.

"This is just getting more irritating! Nnoitra is too slow to retaliate and Kaname was completely unreliable! Damn them! My only hope is my spy who's currently patrolling outside. But that won't really matter…..perhaps I should throw the Hogyoku to its new home soon. I feel that a mayhem is about to happen outside" Aizen thought with a smirk. He briefly took a look at the lake under his feet. "I can't wait to be bestowed this blessing!" he added.

Outside, on Konoha's many rooftops

Sasuke and Uryu were having a competition of which one of them could catch that troubling spy. So far, she had refrained from performing any serious attacks, as she wanted only to get rid of them. But Uryu's Hirenkyaku and Sasuke's Mangekyo Sharingan made it impossible for her to do so. She called forth her Shikai and her Zanpakuto was transformed into something wicked. It was a Zanpakuto with dark flames, accompanied by a purple silk.

"You leave me no choice! Taste the chill of true death!" she shouted towards her opponents and first charged against Sasuke, who merely watched her disappointed.

"Is that the best you can do? Don't make me laugh!" Sasuke taunted her and did a few hand seals. "Prepare to burn! Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!" he shouted and blew out a large ball of flame towards the spy.

The spy used her Shunpo to avoid to attack, even though the flames were too big to avoid. She landed on a nearby roof and panted. But unbeknownst to her, Uryu was aiming his bow at her.

"Tired already? Pitiful! I expected you to be more stubborn considering your reputation as a Soul Reaper!" he remarked while readying his attack. "Licht Regen!" he said loud and thousands of Reishi arrows were raining from his bow towards their target. The spy notices this and barley dodges them, thus receiving minor injuries from Uryu's attack.

"No! I must get out of here! These people are much stronger than I originally thought!" she said to herself, but she immediately stopped her actions when a sword covered with black flames almost cut her. It cut her hood thus revealing that she was wearing a mask, a mask which covered her entire head.

The one who almost sliced her was Hiei, who stood in front of her with his sword in his hands. He eyed her threateningly while brandishing his sword. The spy's eyes widened.

"Bastard, where did you come from!?" she angrily demanded, much to the lack of empathy from Hiei.

"I could hear this clash of yours far away from where you stood. So I decided to see what it was. And I found you" he answered emotionless. He soon noticed Uryu and Sasuke coming towards them.

"What's the meaning of this, demon?" Sasuke demanded an answer.

"Weren't you supposed to plant the explosives? I mean, it's our mission!" Uryu asked while adjusting his glasses. Hiei merely stared at them with a disapproving glance.

"Why are you two restraining yourselves? Killing a weakling like her isn't that difficult" he stated while pointing his sword towards the spy who was angered by the "weakling" comment.

"In case you forgot, Hiei: we are actually supposed to capture her alive! Killing her is prohibited!" Uryu tried to explain, only to be scoffed by the demon.

"What's the point of keeping her alive, when the buildings around here are about to explode?" he asked them, much to the spy's wariness.

"What! No, don't you dare destroying…" the spy tried to threaten him, but to no avail.

"You're too late, weakling! Kouga's got the detonator and everything starts at 5…4…3….2…1" Hiei explained and counted, until loud explosion could be heard all over Konoha.

Turning around, the spy could see large piles of smoke appearing around Konoha. She was furious. The buildings had already been destroyed by explosives. Uryu and Sasuke merely smirked at what they were seeing. They guessed that Kouga and Riley had succeeded in planting their explosives.

All over Konoha

Citizens of Konoha were running rampant around the streets. They didn't expect something like this to suddenly appear in the middle of the day. Even at the Hokage building, where the play was going on, people were screaming and ran from their seats. They all thought that this was a terror attack. Large crowds of people were running in fear, with their safest places their homes.

Back at the rooftops

The spy was seething with rage. Now they had destroyed her master's businesses. But what was she going to do about? Surely her master would be disappointed.

"You will all pay for this!" she declared while readying her Zanpakuto. "All of you shall perish by my blade!" she added furiously.

"Are you determined to meet your end? Very well, I won't stop you from doing so" Hiei stated while brandishing his black-flamed sword.

"Stay out of this demon! This one is mine!" Sasuke said to Hiei while drawing out his sword.

"Concentrate on the spy, you two! She is our adversary!" Uryu said coldly while eyeing the spy.

Hiei, Sasuke and Uryu prepared their fighting stances, but they immediately stopped once they noticed a very large shadow appearing over Konoha. It first they thought it was just a large chunk of cloud, but once they turned up to see what it was, their eyes were completely widened. A large airship was floating over Konoha while descending upon the city. They could see large doors being opened on each side of the airship. There was something written on each side: Yamanihon. They wondered what it could be. But once they got a glimpse of the flag, they immediately snapped, because they knew what it was.

"It can't be…." Uryu said.

"Why would they attack us now?" Hiei asked angrily

"Imperials….imperials are invading Konoha!" Sasuke said outraged while gritting his teeth.

The spy also noticed this with very shocked eyes. Like her opponents, she too didn't see that coming.

"No….No…Damn it!" she cursed under her breath while gazing up towards the airship.

Inside Urahara's candy store

Everyone inside was just shocked at what they had noticed. The large airship was without a doubt loaded with imperials. Urahara began studying the airship through a telescope and everyone present with him was incredibly shocked.

"I just checked outside, boss! There is no doubt about it! Konoha is under siege!" Tessai reported, having just gone outside to check what it was.

"I can't believe it! Are we really being invaded!?" Sakura asked with fear in her voice.

"I noticed that the imperial flag was flying on it….this is really bad!" Shino said grimly.

"What do you see, Urahara?" Hinata asked very uncomfortably. Urahara exited his telescope and turned around to face them.

"This is something every one of us didn't except would happen! I really hate to say this….but we better be prepared to fight" Urahara said. "Somehow, they knew what difficulties we were in, and they used it as an opportunity to strike at Konoha. And this "Yamanihon"….a legion of imperials are currently above us!" he added with an explanation.

"A few days ago, I spotted some imperials hanging around Ichiraku's ramen bar. I know it's too early to conclude, but perhaps they were spies for the imperials" Sakura stated while feeling a little guilt about not noticing this any sooner, but Sai put a hand on her shoulder.

"Don't blame yourself, Sakura. I think I would've felt the same way you did back there" he stated while encouraging her.

"So, shall we get outside and fight them, boss?" Jinta asked his boss while readying his club.

"Obviously, their armies will appear down here any minute" Ururu said with her bandaged bazooka in her hands.

"It's not that we have any choice…..we must confront them!" Urahara stated.

"Then we better be prepared! It won't take long before those who can fight will notice this. Once they do, a battle will start" Shino stated. "Hinata, go find Kiba and tell him if he's willing to be joining us in this fight!" he suddenly said to Hinata who nodded in return.

"Right, I will also tell everyone else I meet on the way about this!" Hinata said and exited the candy store.

"I think we all shall go outside! Everyone who is unable to fight must be protected! We must hurry!" Sakura said and everyone went outside.

"Good! In the meantime, I will rally the movement against these imperials. This is sure gonna be one hell of a battle" Urahara remarked.

"But boss, what about the Shadowy Spiders? Since they are deep inside the Hokage Monument they probably didn't notice anything happening above us! And don't forget Aizen!" Tessai pointed out to his boss.

The laid-back shop-owner paused at his associate's question. He knew he had to think about them as well, considering how important this mission was.

Aboard the airship: Dragon's Fist

Vegeta, Krillin, Piccolo, Yamcha and Tien walked in front of the airship's door. They gazed upon Konoha and noticed that smokes were already rising from various parts of the city. Vegeta then turned around to watch his entire legion waiting to be given an order. He smirked with pride.

"Rise up Yamanihon, we stand above the battlefield where countless rebels lie and wait for a proper fight! Prepare for any resistance against us! We will crush them! For our ancestors! FOR NIPPONICHI!" he shouted with fury and pride, much to the cheering of his followers.

Vegeta and his partners started to float in the air. As soon as they did that, the entire legion jumped from the airship to freefall towards ground. Once landing they went into different directions and spread across Konoha.

"I hope this will be worth it" Crown Prince Gohan suddenly appeared beside Vegeta. He merely grunted.

"Now it's not the time for negotiating, Gohan! This darkness has lurked here and the rebels weren't even aware of that! Once we have put down any resistance, we will regroup with your father and confront whatever that plague is!" Vegeta said, making the prince nodding as a yes.

"Yes….I understand…but before we do that, allow me and Goten to speak with our father" he said in a formal manner. Vegeta turned around his head.

"I'll consider it, Gohan" he replied and began to observe the urban battlefield taking place down there.

In the street were Ichiraku's ramen bar is

It was already a chaos. The streets of Konoha were filled with large fleeing crowds, explosions or sounds of battle. The two main sides of this civil war were officially clashing against each other.

In the street were Ichiraku's ramen bar was located at, the marching imperials were the gourmet hunter Sunny, the meister Black Star, the wizard Gajeel Redfox and the pirate Nico Robin. They searched for any potential threats. So far they hadn't found any.

"C'mon! Are rebels really that type of pussies!?" Black Star wailed while throwing his immature tantrums. His weapon partner Tsubaki Nakatsukasa sweat-dropped at her meister's brash behaviour.

"Don't make so much noise, Black Star. Remember that you are an assassin" she lightly scolded him.

"I know that! But I'm an assassin who dreams of becoming the biggest superstar! But first I'm gonna kick some rebel butt!" he declared with confidence.

"Shut up, kid! You're not just gonna take the entire creed by yourself! I want some of it too!" Gajeel barked while eying the teal-haired boy.

"Who are you calling a kid, metal-ass freak!?" Black Star retorted to the Iron Dragon Slayer.

"You wanna taste an iron knuckle sandwich!? If so then I'd be happy to oblige, you arrogant punk!" Gajeel said to the Dark Arm Meister threateningly while transforming his right-arm to steel. Robin suddenly stepped in front of them.

"Stop this right now, boys! We have more pressing matter ahead of us. Spare the energy for your adversaries, okay?" she politely asked the two, who seemed to be blushing, considering how voluptuous Robin's body was.

"Ehhh…okay" they both said.

"Argh, can you believe how dusty and untidy this street is!? I mean, does every rebel live in such horrible conditions!?" Sunny asked his teammates while studying the empty street. Gajeel and Black Star rolled their eyes.

"We're in the middle of a battlefield, yet all you care about is how their lifestyle is? You gotta be kidding me!" Gajeel remarked sarcastically.

"How did a metrosexual weirdo like you ever get involved in Yamanihon? You know that this is about kicking asses and taking names, right!?" Black Star asked the gourmet hunter, who was practically insulted by that. Tsubaki was completely embarrassed.

"You dare making fun of my wondrous hair!? I shall show you what it means to kick…" before Sunny could continue his bickering, the building west from them suddenly exploded. A large dust appeared as a result of it. But once it was gone, the imperials could finally see who it really was. It was four rebels standing across from their location. They were Mikasa Ackerman, Grimmjow Jaggerjack, Renji Abarai and Alex Louis Armstrong. It was on!

"It looks like you two were correct! There were imperials skulking around this street" Armstrong said while eyeing Renji and Grimmjow. The Soul Reaper and Arrancar stepped forward towards the imperials. Sunny was disgusted.

"Enemy forces!" he exclaimed with disbelief. "And look at those two! Their appearances sicken me!" he added with an opinion. But Black Star and Gajeel were really satisfied and grinned gleefully.

"Finally someone showed up! I've been itching for a good fight!" Black Star said and motioned Tsubaki to stand beside him.

"So what do you think Grimmjow? Shall we take out these pests?" Renji quizzed his partner who merely grinned while answering.

"Hell yeah, I'll take care of that black-haired dude over there! That teal-haired midget isn't worth my time!" Grimmjow said while focusing his gaze on Gajeel. Black Star was very offended by Grimmjow's lack of acknowledging him.

"Sounds like fun! Hey Mikasa! Who will you fight against?" Renji asked the young girl with the red scarf.

"I'll take whoever person that gets in my way! These aren't any interesting at all." she said seriously and used her gear to reach out to the rooftop. What she didn't notice, was that Robin had used her Devil Fruit powers to create wings by many hands. And she blocked Mikasa's passage.

"There's no way I'm letting you go so easily. We may have different fighting styles, but I will still face you" Robin said to the young girl. Mikasa merely stared at her with her seriousness.

Back at the street, Gajeel and Black Star was ready to face Renji and Grimmjow

"Are you challenging me? That's fine by me, catface! You're gonna get the time of your life!" Gajeel exclaimed while readying himself.

"I'm no midget and I'm gonna prove that by beating the living hell out of that pineapple head! Tsubaki, transform!" Black Star said to his partner and he was now carrying his special weapon.

"You're gonna die for that comment! Roar, Zabimaru!" Renji activated his Shikai and his Zanpakuto stretched itself towards Black Star.

Konoha City Park

Confrontations between rebels and imperials occurred elsewhere in Konoha. In the park, a battle occurred between Shikamaru Nara and two imperials: the hunter Leorio and the witch Yukari Sendo. They were currently caught up in Shikamaru's Shadow Possession Jutsu. Standing beside the shinobi was the timid exorcist Konekomaru Miwa. He felt uneasy being near Yukari.

"That little girl is a witch! She said that she would transform me into a misguided creature or something! She's scary!" he said while hiding behind Shikamaru's back. He merely sighed.

"Look, everything's alright! I got them under control!" Shikamaru assured the timidly exorcist.

"Damn it! I can't move my body! It's like I'm being stuck standing here for a long time!" Leorio freaked out while expressing his irritation about this technique.

"Once this trick is dispelled, I'm gonna come after you, stupid four-eyed jerkface!" Yukari said while eyeing Konekomaru, who became more scared and hid behind Shikamaru's back.

But in the same park as them, the pirate Sanji was having a serious clash with the monk called Miroku. They clashed despite knowing that they were both perverts.

"How long are you gonna keep blocking my kicks, monk? It won't help anything!" Sanji tried to taunt his adversary, only for him to smirk back at him.

"Don't you have any better to offer than taunting, Mr. Butler with the Inhuman Eyebrow?" Miroku insulted Sanji's outfit and appearance, enraging the cook.

"Now you're dead! Diablo Jambre!" Sanji shouted and delivered a fiery kick at the monk's stomach, thus sending him flying.

Suddenly Miroku's wife Sango appeared and Sanji immediately fell for her. He danced up to her and tried to propose to her.

"What a lovely lady you are! Why don't you come along with me? We can eat together and…" Sanji stopped once he felt Sango's large boomerang slamming his face, sending him flying towards the same direction he sent Miroku a few seconds ago. Sango crunched her fists.

"Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm already married to a pervert!" she said. I don't need one more!" the young woman added while heading towards her husband.

Near the entrance to Konoha

On a rooftop close to the entrance, Roronoa Zoro and Erza Scarlet were clashing with Suigetsu Hozuki and Kenpachi Zaraki. The two imperials stood back to back while eyeing their opponents.

"This will be fun! I've heard about your talents, Erza" Zoro said, making Erza chuckling in amusement.

"You may be right! I'm looking forward to watch yours in return, Zoro" she remarked and eyed her opponent: Suigetsu. Every swordsman clashed against each other. It was Erza against Suigetsu and Zoro against Kenpachi.

"Hah! You sure look like a tough fighter, wouldn't you say, kid?" Kenpachi asked the pirate while clashing swords with him.

"Damn straight! I hope that you as an opponent will be worth my time!" Zoro said, making Kenpachi grin in return.

"Now we're talking! I will gladly refrain from toying with you, then!" Kenpachi remarked and used his Shunpo to vanish from Zoro's view. The pirate knew this was some sort of trick and decided to watch his step.

Suigetsu was very pleased about his opponent being a girl. He even noticed some differences between her and Karin.

"Wow! You can change into different forms? I didn't see that coming!" he remarked.

"You shouldn't underestimate me, shinobi! I'm more than capable enough of handling myself against clueless fighters like you!" she taunted her opponent, who was completely stunned about what she said. But he gave her his spikey grin.

"Then how about you see some tricks I got up in my pockets? I'm sure as hell you won't be disappointed!" he said with confidence and brandished his blade.

In an alley not far from Ichiraku's ramen bar

In an alley behind Konoha's many streets, Death the Kid was walking through along with his partners: the Thompson sisters.

"So far we haven't found any adversary yet! This city sure is big!" Patty said loudly while studying.

"I don't like this. While everything clashes outside, this alley is too quiet. It just doesn't make any sense!" Liz said while watching each side for any dangers. "Wouldn't you agree Kid?" she suddenly asked her meister. Kid continued walking.

"Ummm..Kid…is something wrong?" she asked, wondering if there was anything troubling on her meister's mind

"It's nothing…I just…I can't help but to notice how beautiful this alley is! I mean, just look at each side! It's so symmetric! Even though is enemy territory I still love its symmetry!" Kid said with gleeful eyes, making Patty laugh and Liz slump.

"Not again! Cut the crap, Kid! We are in war!" Liz slammed her meister's behaviour.

"Kid's so funny when it comes to symmetry!" Patty remarked while laughing on the ground.

Suddenly a shot coming from a sniper rifle suddenly hit a sign close to Kid and his partners and they became extremely cautious. They hid behind a crowd of garbage cans while making sure they weren't in the middle of the alley.

"Whoa, that was a close one! How the hell didn't we see that?" Liz asked with shock in her voice.

"Perhaps we were spotted by the enemy and…" before Patty could say anything further Kid interrupted her.

"You're right, Patty. It was the enemy. But the enemy was using a sniper rifle! Obviously he or she must be hiding somewhere close to this alley!" Kid remarked.

"You know now that I think about it, there was a flat or some sort with a long-ranged terrace. Perhaps the sharpshooter could be standing there" Liz stated while thinking about what she saw.

"Damn! The rebels have probably erected a checkpoint there! That means they probably outnumber us. We better send call for…" before he could call for any assistance, he noticed an unknown voice coming to him from the roof. He prepared his weapons partners and noticed a red-haired exorcist with an eye patch standing on the roof. He was carrying around his Innocence, which was formed like a hammer. Kid aimed his pistols at him.

"Who are you!?" he demanded.

"That's a question I would like to ask you, imperial! You know, you do look like a kid to be honest" the exorcist called Lavi said while eyeing down to him.

"Don't get cocky with me, rebel-punk! If you wanna fight, then why don't you come down here and face me?" Kid asked coldly. Lavi jumped from the roof and landed on the ground.

"So you're afraid of coming out in the open I see. Fine, I wanted a fair match anyway" Lavi said and prepared his Innocence.

At the end of the alley, from a flat's terrace

On a terrace belonging to some flat, Riza Hawkeye watched the alley with her sniper rifle. She had missed her targets and Lavi was about to fight them. She took a break from her watching and looked up to the flat's roof. A young short-haired man named Levi stood up eyeing her.

"It seems that Lavi's going to take care of those imperials now. Other than that, I don't see anyone walking in the alley. Shall we move to a different location?" Riza asked the young man.

"We should. But it will be difficult finding a permanent place to stay at. The whole city is becoming a battlefield. We better move before something really disgusting happens…" Levi suddenly stopped when he and Riza could hear a large explosion not far from here.

"No…that place..." Riza stated troubled.

"Was that the bar?" Levi asked and the sharpshooter nodded with a yes.

"Breda left the bar shortly before the assault, but Havoc must still be there! We gotta reach there now!" she said with concern.

"My manoeuvre gear will take me there faster, so I'll see what I can do once I get there!" Levi said and shot himself in the air to that location. Riza tried to follow by using the normal way out.

At Breda and Havoc's bar

At the bar, Havoc was standing outside along with the demon Kurama and the exorcists Shiemi Moriyama and Izumo Kamiki. They were outside to stand against the threat that was approaching them: the gourmet hunter Zebra, the wizard Mirajane Strauss and the hunter Kurapika. Zebra was the one standing in front of his comrades.

"Get out of my sight, runts! You ain't worth my time!" he stated arrogantly while eyeing his adversaries.

"Like hell we will! You destroyed my bar, you ugly son of a bitch!" Havoc yelled angrily while pointing his shotgun at Zebra.

"Your entering enemy territory, please turn around and leave" Kurama stated coldly to all the imperials.

"And why should we do that, rebel?" Kurapika stepped forward. Kurama closed his eyes.

"We may share different ideologies, but times have changed! Why don't we cease this bloodshed?" Kurama asked his counterpart, who was amazed by his wise words.

"I…I…" before Kurapika could answer, Havoc interrupted them.

"Negotiating with the enemy!? The fuck is wrong with you, Kurama!?" Havoc shouted outraged. Kurama turned around to face him.

"Idiot, haven't you realised that this war will affect those who can't fight!? Show some understanding!" the red-haired demon said straight into Havoc's face.

"He may have a point, Havoc! Right now, many people are getting hurt! If we continue this bloodshed, it won't solve anything!" Shiemi tried to reason with him, but to no avail.

"War is not the time for reason, girl! I'm gonna shot that purple-haired bastard for ruining my bar!" Havoc said and prepared to fire.

Mirajane, who was actually amazed by Kurama's wise words and Shiemi's desire for ceasefire decided to urge her comrades to refrain from attacking, but as soon as they noticed Havoc preparing to fire at them, Kurapika prepared his chains while Zebra breathed sound into his mouth.

"SOUND BAZOOKA!" Zebra shouted and a large soundwave was coming towards the rebels. Luckily for them, Shiemi had asked her Greenman Nii for protection. Nii grew in size and erected a wall created by plants. But Zebra's attack was not easy to withstand.

"I better summon Uke and Mike! I don't know if this will be enough, though" she said to Shiemi.

"We need all the help that we can get, Izumo. Are you prepared, Kurama?" Shiemi asked the red-haired demon who smiled in return.

"If this is about protecting you and your friend from them, then I'm in. But we should be careful around here! I fear that something dark is about to emerge from here" Kurama answered.

"Pay attention, the wall's about to collapse!" Havoc said cautiously.

Suddenly, crack appeared in the wall and id didn't take long before it was dissolved. Once the rebels prepared their fighting stances, they could see Zebra preparing a new attack. They were cautious. Luckily, someone interrupted the gourmet hunter's preparation.

"EL DIRECTO!" a voice could be heard. This rocket hit Zebra and he pushed back as a result. The rebels were happy by that voice. Behind them, the large brown-skinned Fullbringer called Yasutora Sado appeared in front of them. Behind him stood the shinobi Temari with her large fan readied.

"Chad! Thank goodness you came!" Shiemi expressed her relief. He nodded in return and stood beside Kurama. "Oh and you too as well, Temari!" she eyed the blonde-haired shinobi.

"We heard all this commotion and came as fast as we could!" Temari told them while eyeing the imperials. "They sure have some nerve coming here without knowing that resistance is powerful" she added seriously.

Above Konoha

Over the battlefield, Vegata and his associates were eyeing the commotion with hawkish eyes. But that changed when Krillin interrupted his view.

"Vegeta, this is serious! I don't sense Goku's power level!" he said, much to Vegeta's confusion. "He's not inside that apartment he spoke to us about and neither is the rest of Team Z!" the small man added. His friends become very shocked.

"What! But that was our agreement!" Piccolo, who was standing close stated

"Did the rebels find them!?" Yamcha asked.

"I wouldn't say that, because there were no signs about rebel activity. The while street and area was abandoned" Krillin said.

"Then that can mean only one thing: Tien said, but stopped when he noticed Vegeta growl in anger.

"Arrgh! Damn it Kakarot! Where the hell are you!?" Vegeta angrily asked while thinking about the emperor.

Author's note: That was the first part of the Mayhem chapters. Things are starting to focus on the various confrontations between rebels and imperials. You might be confused where these different characters come from. But that doesn't matter. It's going be one hell of a show. What I can say is that in the next chapter, we will see what Don Patch and Jelly Jiggler are doing in Konoha. Stay tuned for more.
