Chapter Thirty-Five

Edward P.O.V

"We're home," I heard Bella whisper in my ear, making me wake up. I opened my eyes and sat up, looking out the small window next to my plane seat. I could see some building that looked more like blurs, meaning that we were landing. Finally, I was glad to be home. One reason was because while we had been in Alaska, I had found it even harder to sleep at night. I guessed it was because I was away from home and Emmett.

"C'mon," I said to Bella as we were ushered out of the plane and back into the airport. I held her hand and guided her through the crowds of people at security, until we reached our bags. I grabbed them off the convair belt and continued to lead Bella into the main airport, where Charlie and Emmett were standing waiting for us. I noticed Charlie first, who waved at us and then Emmett was off, running towards us.

"Hey, guys!" He called, hugging both of us.

"Hi, how have you been?" I asked.

"Fine," he shrugged back.

Charlie reached us next, taking both of our bags off me. I was glad, since suddenly my exhaustion was effecting me more than before. I battled with my eyes as we drove home, trying my hardest to stay awake. It wasn't working very well as when we got home, Bella insisted I got upstairs and take a nap while she made dinner. I collapsed on our bed, falling asleep straight away.

"Hmm," I moaned, frowning. Something was licking me and it was not nice, their tongue was rough and they left large amounts of slavers on my face, while their breath smelled of horrible dog food... Nanook! I opened my eyes in panic to find his wide eyes staring back at me, while he had a grin on his face from us being home. I groaned and stood up, going to wash my face.

"Edward, are you awake?" Bella asked as she entered the bathroom, just as I had finished washing up.

"Yeah, Nanook woke me," I explained, feeling disgusted as I thought back to his smelly breath.

"Well, dinner's ready, and Alice and Jasper are downstairs." She said, leaning up to kiss me. Her lips touched mine until she stopped and looked at me, raising her eyebrows. "Is that soap?" She asked, making me blush. How was I going to explain that our annoying dog had licked my face just after she had kissed me? I decided not to tell her exactly how I had been woken up.

"Yeah, I washed my face." I lied.

"Oh," Bella sighed, believing me. "Come downstairs, everyone is waiting for us."

I was glad to catch up with Alice and Jasper, while Charlie also stayed for dinner. We spoke about Emmett's birthday, since it was only a couple of days away. Our Aunt Beth would be travelling here for it as all of Emmett's friends would be coming to the house for a party, while he had also invited Alice, Jasper, Charlie, Ben, Angela and of course, Bella and I.

"How was the time away?" Jasper asked me as we sat outside, drinking our beers.

"Good," I nodded, knowing what he was going to ask next.

"And the nightmares, are they any better or worse?"

"They were worse while we were away," I explained, making him nod.

"I though that," he said to himself, staying quiet after that.

Later that night, when everyone had gone home, I decided to talk to Bella about something that had annoyed me over the past couple of days. Emmett asleep and I sat on our bed, watching some tv. Bella walked out of the bathroom in her some plaid pajama pants and a tank top, rubbing cream over her hands. I decided to be honest and just come out with, what was the worst that could happen?

"Would you ever want to get married to me?" I asked, making her pause.

"Is this a trick question?" She asked back, making me laugh.

"No," I shook my head.

"Well, then yes."

"Really?" I asked in shock.

"Yes, would you ever want to?"

"Yeah," I answered, pulling her to lay next to me on the bed. "How about kids?" I questioned, making her laugh.

"I don't know. I've never thought about that," she shrugged. "Have you?"

"Yes," I admitted. I thought back to some of the daydreams I had of our lives together, Emmett would be attending college, while Bella and I would be staying home with our kids. I imagined girls, with Bella's curly brown hair and deep chocolate eyes. They would sometimes look like me, maybe a boy that resembled me with my hair and green eyes. It was a dream of mine.

"Then if you want kids, I do too," Bella whispered, leaning up to kiss me. I moaned and laid on top of her, rolling up her tank top.

"Wanna start now?" I joked, making her laugh loudly.

"Shut up," she giggled, leaning up to put her lips to mine again.
