Note: I do not own any of these characters….except Ardesind. But he's only here a bit. R&R! I'm just having some fun trying my had at FanFic!

You guys. I am SOOOOOOOO sorry about the wait on these next few chapters! I've been FLOODED with schoolwork and tests and work and life and I haven't been on the computer to update. Good news though! This weekend (aside from Saturday afternoon) will be spent writing more for each one of you! :) Tonight and tomorrow night especially. Now, I know it's a bit gutsy of me to do this to the story, but it'll all make sense as we go. Stick with me!

Drop me a note as well, if you have a mo'! I love love LOVE getting them! Enjoy :)

When River was finished packing up her supplies and gadgets and had carried them out to the console room, she began to flip levers and switches, perfectly executing every maneuver of her dance with the console.

The Doctor appeared in the corridor and joined her.

"Well, River? Did you decide on a site?"

He was pleased the grin hadn't left her face. It was good she was happy now. She would be oh so sad later when he had to tell her he was leaving. But this was her adventure, not his. He was only along for the ride...and,of course, to be with her for every moment he could.

"Yes. I have."

She grabbed his hand and dragged him towards the doors, throwing them open wide.

"Oh River. You have got to be kidding me."

She looked at him incredulously.

"Doctor just because you know everything about everyone in every part of the universe in all of time and space doesn't mean I can't have some fun once in a while. So, welcome to Egypt. We're going to be the ones to find the lost sapphire scarab of Hammurabi."

"But it's not lost, River! It's..."

She put her hand over his mouth.

"Shut up. My adventure, not yours. No giving me the answers."

He rolled his eyes and nodded.

The Doctor picked up her backpack and she strapped on her utility belt, pulling out her diary.

They began walking down the hillside towards the great pyramid. River was flipping through her notes on the lost artifact and mumbling equations quietly, plugging in the answers on her scanner.

"Ah ha! I know where it is. That was easier than I thought it would be. Now all we have to do is get to it. Let's see..."

The Doctor peaked at her scanner and smiled proudly. She was brilliant. Every calculation was spot on and the blinking dot was precisely where the Artifact could be found.

Well, at least she's having a good time! She'll be furious when we get down to the vault though. he thought.

River had gotten a bit ahead of him and was only a few meters away from the base of the pyramid. As she reached it she set her scanner against it, checking for life forms.

"How does it look, my dear?" he said as he caught up to her.

"Well so far only the dead and a few guards...and some rats but they...hang on. That's odd."

"What is it?" the Doctor said, nervously.

"The entire base of the pyramid is crawling with Judoon soldiers. Why would they be here? Hiding in a pyramid?"

Looking for you. he thought, The future you, though. But either way, i suppose...

"No idea, dear. Looking for some escaped criminal or something of that sort I suppose. They're the police. That's generally what they do."

She rolled her eyes at him and began walking in the direction of the marketplace.

"Where are you going?" the Doctor asked, confused that she would walk away from their destination.

"Well, sweetie, it's 1700 BC. I'm not about to walk into a pyramid full of intergalactic police and Egyptian locals looking like a time traveler. I'm not stupid. We're going shopping."

Extra note: YES. I do know Hammurabi was Persian. Just...go with it. Egypt will make sense in the next chapter.
