Raven rinsed her hands in the bathroom sink and wiped her face. Her hands were shaking as she grabbed the side of the sink for support, inhaling deeply. She had redressed, he clothes straightened out. He left her without any bruises, so there were no marks to bother to hide. Somehow, that felt even worse.

From the other room, Raven could hear movement. Slade was awake - alive. I could kill him, Raven thought. The thought left as quickly as it came. Killing him wouldn't change anything, and it's not like he ever bothered to stay dead.

"Are you awake?" Raven asked, loud enough for him to hear her through the door.

"Yes." His voice was empty. He didn't extend the "s" to hiss, or soak the word with his sinister tone.

"Go to Jade," Raven said. "If… if it worked, she needs someone there with her. She likes you best."

"Raven, I-" Slade started.

"Go," Raven repeated. "Comfort her for now. I'll send you a message when I'm on my way, and you can say goodbye to her. Then I want you gone."

Raven could feel his presence through the door. Waves of emotion were pulsing from him, but there was too much going on in Raven's own mind to sort through them. It was a full minute, maybe more, before Slade turned and left the small cabin hideaway. She could hear his footsteps drifting away, and then it was quiet, aside from the ambience of the forest.

The shower didn't work. Raven spun the faucet only for a few drips to leak out and drip brown, murky water into the rusty drain. Raven stood up, shuffling her body forward and out of the bathroom. There would be a fight soon - Trigon wouldn't give up. He'd go after Jade again, or he would go after Raven herself. The team needed to be ready. Jade needed to be ready.

Slade's overnight bag was already gone. Raven grabbed her own, checking to make sure everything was still in it. The door to the cabin pushed open, and Beast Boy stood in the frame. His uniform was ripped at the shoulder, and he had dried blood in the fur of his neck. Raven felt a wave of guilt. She couldn't even tell if it was her own emotion, as she realized she had forgotten about him. Or was it his emotion? Feeling guilty, as if he had let her down.

He didn't say anything. Instead, his green eyes scanned the room. They lingered on the lumpy couch, and then they glossed over Raven, who stood with her bag still open in her hand, staring back.

"What's the plan?" Beast Boy asked.

"I going to get Jade. We're going to get off planet, find somewhere safe." Raven zipped her bag shut.

"And Slade?" He said it quietly enough that Raven could have pretended she didn't hear.

"Gone. We should get to Jade. I want to leave as quickly as possible."

Beast Boy grabbed his own things and pushed the cabin door open.. "Ready when you are."

Raven didn't respond. She only led the way out of the cabin, walking into the forest. Beast Boy followed not far behind, without asking why they weren't flying out over the trees. They reached the end of the forest, lacking in any real haste to get through it. The trees opened, leading to the cliffs and hills that bordered the down. Ahead of them, the buildings lit up the skyline. Raven stopped at the very edge of the cliff, staring down it.

"Rae?" Beast Boy stepped alongside her.

"Slade," Raven replied. Beast Boy waited for something more, but Raven only pointed. At the bottom of the cliff was a body, barely recognizable, but Raven seemed certain.

"He - that's- "

"Let's keep moving," Raven interrupted.
