Back in the stadium, the others were gathered to the far wall as Mewtwo addressed them, 'Humans, you have served my purpose. I am sparing your lives, for the moment.' Mewtwo then opened the doors leading out of the stadium and to the edges of the island, 'But you cannot escape your fate. The hour of my vengeance draws near.' A large explosion erupted near the spiral walkway where the first three clones appeared from as several Pokémon rushed out from the smoke to join Mewtwo. 'Behold! With Pokémon and humans eliminated, the clones shall inherit the world.'

"You can't do this," two voices call out from the smoke, "We won't let you."

From the smoke shadows could be seen before Ash, Taiichi, and the Pokémon captured by Mewtwo were marching onto the field. The trainers were overjoyed to see their Pokémon again, though Mizuki breathed a sigh of relief just to see Taiichi safe, slightly tightening her grip on his belt bag she was hold. Now standing in opposition to Mewtwo and his forces, Mewtwo scoffed at them all, 'It is useless to challenge me.'

Taiichi pointed, "It's not going to end like this, Mewtwo."

"We won't let it." Ash then flipped his cap backwards, "You're mine," before charging right at Mewtwo.

"Hey, wait! The plan!" Taiichi tried to stop him, but Ash was already at Mewtwo now and tried to punch him, but Mewtwo's barrier was too strong, blasting Ash back to the ground. Ash was too stubborn to give up, quickly jumping back to his feet to try again, and again being blocked by the barrier. This time instead of simply repelling him, Mewtwo grabbed Ash with his psychic powers before flying him high in the air towards one of the towers. "Ash!"

Ash looked doomed, or at least until a pink bubble suddenly materialized and he bounced on it. 'What?' Mewtwo was uncertain what had happened, just as everyone else, though the strangest part wasn't until a small little pink Pokémon flew closer to Ash. This unusual Pokémon had a tail longer than the rest of its body, diminutive little arms with relatively large feet and almost feline like qualities, similar to Mewtwo. The unknown Pokémon then popped the bubble Ash was on and started laughing. 'Can it be?'

Ayame and Mizuki looked to one another after seeing a few similarities, though it was Arthur who confirmed it, "A Mew? But why?"

Mew created a new pink bubble and started to bounce on it without a care in the world, or at least until Mewtwo popped it with a Shadow Ball in an attempt to strike against Mew. Mew quickly recovered before Mewtwo threw another Shadow Ball but Mew teleported away. Mewtwo followed the psychic energy, throwing Shadow Ball after Shadow Ball to hit Mew, but the little Mew continued to evade them with Teleport, laughing as though they were playing a game.

Mizuki turned to Arthur, "Are you sure? That's a…"

"Definitely. They're playful charm isn't something that you forget easily."

'Mew. So, finally, we meet.' Mew though wasn't even paying attention to Mewtwo, looking around as he continued, 'I may be cloned from your DNA, but now I will prove that Mewtwo is better than the original—superior to Mew.'

"Mew and Mewtwo…"

"So Mewtwo was cloned from Mew."

"Not exactly." The other humans turned to Ayame now, "Most of Mewtwo's genetics came from a fossilized eye lash of a Mew but…"

"But that's not all." Mizuki continued, "The ones who created Mewtwo didn't have enough DNA from the fossil, so one of them used his own DNA to finish the missing chains."

Mewtwo couldn't care what the humans were saying, he had already learned that bit from them. 'This world is too small for two of us.' Mew quickly flew away as Mewtwo gave chase and tried to attack. Eventually Mew flew behind one of the pillars as Mewtwo floated nearby, 'Why do you flee from me? Are you afraid to find out which of us is greater?' As Mew continued again, Mewtwo charged up another Shadow Ball, waiting before throwing it. Mew looked back, curious as to what happened and took a direct hit, sending the little one up into the clouds. Everyone fell silent, waiting to see what would happen before a blue ball of energy was flung from the exact spot Mew was thrown through, sending Mewtwo into the stands above the humans. Mewtwo quickly blew the smoke away, 'So, you do have some fight in you,' the two of them meet back up above the stadium, 'but I have no time for games. Destiny is at hand. Who will rule? My super Pokémon or your pathetic group of spineless, inferior Pokémon? We were created with powers far stronger than the originals.'

Mew though had a few things to say to that, claiming otherwise, though the humans were unable to understand a word of it.

'My clones don't need their powers to prove their worth.'

Mewtwo tossed another Shadow Ball, and like many of the others, Mew dodged it. This one though flew right to where Ash was, high on the tower. "Ash!"

'I will block all the Pokémon's special abilities using my psychic powers. Now we shall see who triumphs. Go!' The clones went in a full charge as most of the other Pokémon ran to confront their copies.

Taiichi tried to stop a few of them, but was pushed aside by the charging Pokémon. Servine remained by his side, protecting him from being trampled. Pikachu even tried to stop them, but they completely ignored him as well. Beedrill quickly found her double and the two bees locked their stingers in combat alongside the other Pokémon, and with their attacks suppressed it looked more like a giant street brawl.

Pawniard was also locked in combat against her clone, and though the two appeared to be evenly matched, Pawniard's extensive training with Ayame and the Fuchsia Gym has taught her techniques that a freshly hatched clone wouldn't know. Pawniard took the early advantage, faking a strike while sidestepping the clone, and when the opportunity opened, she tripped the clone and pinned her. The clone though used the many blades of her body to get her away to strike again.

Amber easily found her doppelgänger, charging at her with all of her might. However the clone looked at her with a rather unusual smirk as she ran to meet her. Amber tried to jab at the clone, but the clone was too fast, diving between her legs and pulling them out from under her before another Blaziken stood above her. This one winked to her before jumping the other Blaziken, revealing the two to be Cynder and her clone. Amber kept track of the two, pulling Cynder's clone away with a spinning uppercut. Cynder nodded to Amber as she ran off to find Amber's clone. It didn't take long to find the Blaziken clone as she flared the flames from her wrists and jumped at her. Cynder knew all of Amber's fighting moves, easily dodging the clone's assault and pinning her to the ground before jumping back to avoid a kick.

Wartortle wanted to return to Mizuki, but his clone got in his way, wanting to fight as the others were. Wartortle wasn't one to say no to a battle, especially one he knew could be a challenge. He pulled his arms and head into his shell, leaving some of his Silk Scarf hanging out, before ramming into the clone. The clone was confused by this as he grabbed Wartortle's shell. Wartortle quickly popped his head out, hitting the clone hard enough that he fell onto his back. Wartortle apologized, saying if circumstances were different he'd have no qualm with continuing the battle. His clone though quickly recovered, pulling Wartortle's tail to get him back into the scuffle.

Lombre was dancing around the battles, even dancing with his clone who was trying to fight him. Lombre's moves and occasional partnered dance with the clone made it nearly impossible for the clone to actually hurt him.

Shedinja and its clone were just floating together, watching the others battle. They didn't say a word, nor did they look to one another after they found each other, though neither could do anything to the other without their powers even if they wanted to.

When Servine's clone found her, Servine was ready to fight, to defend Taiichi, however the clone was different from the others. She shyly moved closer to them, almost afraid of them. Servine ignored the clone, helping Taiichi back up as they moved away from the fighting. Servine's clone also seemed uncertain what to do, as the others were intensely fighting their doubles yet she seemed to cringe from it all as she followed them at a bit of a distance.

Mew and Mewtwo though continued to clash with one another, Mewtwo surrounded in a blue sphere as Mew was protected by a pink one as the two rammed into one another high above as though the fighting below wasn't happening.

Mizuki and Ayame worked their way to him, "Tai!" Mizuki jumped him, "Geez this is another mess we've wound up getting ourselves caught up in. And I don't think our past experiences will help here."

"I don't know what to do," Taiichi turned back to their unexpected follower, "but this has to stop! Clones or not, a Pokémon is a Pokémon. All of this, they don't need to do this, to the death." The fighting around them was getting more brutal as the Pokémon and clones were tiring themselves out, injured and too weak to continue fighting one another, as pairs were falling down completely exhausted yet they tried to continue these pointless battles.

Ayame spotted Arthur running though the chaos to reach his two Pokémon, "Then we must end this before he does something even more reckless then Ash. Speaking of…" Ayame turned to a section of the stands that Ash managed to climb his way down to.

Taiichi turned to the clone Servine, "Come on. It's okay. We won't hurt you." The clone was obviously cautious, but since she has not shown the same aggression as the others, he was willing to accept her. Servine didn't like her, just for the fact that she could be playing them. "Servine, does she really look like someone who would hurt us?"

Servine looked at the clone again, this time forgetting her origins and just looked. And given her own origins from the dream world, as christened by Dr. Fennel, she couldn't completely argue anything against her without it sounding personal. She begrudgingly allowed her closer, turning her head away still not trusting her completely.

The bout between Mew and Mewtwo though was getting serious now as their battle eventually returned to the field as the combined psychic energy reacted violently and what few battles that were trying to continue finally came to a halt when the pairs were now lying on the ground unable to continue. Taiichi protected both Servine and her clone from the blast as the electricity generated from the two powerhouses disabled the stadium lights.

Mew and Mewtwo flared with psychic energy as they attacked one another with this energy, pushing the other back. Taiichi wasn't going to let this continue any longer, seeing both natural born and clones in pain, this had to come to an end now. Taiichi ran toward the center of the field where Ash was running, both of them crying out, "You've got to stop right now!"

Mizuki dropped the bags she had, running after Taiichi, "No, wait!"

"Stop!" The three of them reached the center just as Mew and Mewtwo's attacks connected.

As the dust cleared they were floating a few inches off the ground and enveloped in a pink energy, though Mizuki had just enough time to grab Taiichi's hand as they fell to the floor. 'Fools. Trying to stop our battle.'

Ayame looked away, knowing that there was no way that they could walk away from this, trying to hold back her tears, only managing to keep herself from crying aloud.

Servine, Wartortle and Pikachu each rushed to their respected trainers, though as the energy around them faded they turned to stone. Pikachu was trying to nudge Ash back up before resorting to shocking him to get a response. Wartortle was uncertain what to do however Servine wasn't giving up. She was going to get Taiichi back up, she had to wake him and Mizuki up. Try as she might, there was nothing she could do, and it was Wartortle who had to stop her. Pikachu's efforts were also in vein, as he eventually used up all of the electricity he could muster and to no avail. Servine was now crying holding Taiichi in her arms as Wartortle laid next to Mizuki. Even Lombre's unusually happy disposition couldn't keep his upbeat spirit as tears were in his eyes too.

Arthur looked away, having seen enough attempts to save those who couldn't be saved. Shedinja and Shedinja's clone floated down to Ayame's side. It was then when she noticed Taiichi's belt bag was shaking. The moment she unzipped it Riolu popped out. It seemed that even in his Poké Ball he could sense what had transpired. Riolu then proceeded to get the others from Taiichi's bag and calling them out.

Ayame opened Mizuki's bag, grabbing her Pokémon and having them appear too. Kirlia couldn't sense anything from Mizuki or Taiichi, falling to her knees again in despair when she saw them. Charmeleon, Marshtomp, Riolu and Kangaskhan rushed to Servine's side. Servine's clone eventually found her way to them now, saddened by this and offering her shoulder for Servine. Servine quickly leaned against her, crying at what had occurred. The clone herself was also tearing about this, the human who accepted her existence, even with how she was created.

Mawile and Purrloin hugged each other, crying for Mizuki, as Druddigon bellowed out, far unlike the tough guy he normally was. Scar, who originally had nothing but contempt for his trainer, even he couldn't deny that he was feeling something. The other Pokémon were also crying too, both clones and originals. Then something unexpected started to happen, the very tears from these Pokémon were starting to gather to the three humans.

This unusual miracle even had Mew and Mewtwo look in wonder and confusion. The three humans were glowing blue now as Servine's clone had Servine look back. Servine rubbed herself against Taiichi, crying a bit longer as Wartortle and Pikachu let out the last tears they could gather, each pleading for them to come back.

The storm that Mewtwo had created suddenly dissipated as a bright blue light beamed down onto the field and life returned to the three trainers. Mizuki smiled to Taiichi, "Well, it looks like we did something stupid again. But at least we did it together, like usual."

Servine wrapped her vines around the two of them, crying as she did so. Taiichi started to pat her, cradling her, "We're alright now. You don't need to cry anymore."

Wartortle happily pounded his chest as a few more tears rolled down his cheeks. Druddigon jumped over to them, using his wings to help get to Mizuki's side quickly before giving her a massive smothering hug. "Crushing…me…"

Ayame rubbed the tears from her eyes, ecstatic they were safe, though she contented herself to watch from where she was.

Even Ash and Pikachu were happily embracing each other, "Pikachu!"

Kirlia could smile once more, seeing Lombre happily dancing again and Mizuki safe. Even the other Pokémon were joyous to see the three humans back, some roaring in joy as others just nodded to their double.

Mewtwo and Mew were floating high above the stadium once more, as they looked down to what had transpired. 'Those humans sacrificed themselves to save the Pokémon. I pitted them against each other, but not until they set aside their differences did I see the true power they all shared deep inside. I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.'

The two powerful Psychic Pokémon started glowing again and all of the clones were lifted into the air, joining them. Everyone watched the clones be lifted away as they now flew across the sky with Mew and Mewtwo. Ash cried out, "Mewtwo, where are you going?"

'Where my heart can learn what yours knows so well. What transpired here, I will always remember, but perhaps, for you, these events are best forgotten.' Mewtwo and the others faded behind the clouds and when they did a small spot within the stadium started to glow before expanding out to the rest of the stadium. Once that happened everyone was slightly lifted into the air as a blinding light started to fill their senses until…

Having reached the Old Shore Wharf, the storm outside looked pretty bad as Officer Jenny and the harbor manager were preventing today's ferry from leaving. "This could be the worst storm ever."

"You must listen to me. You have got to find shelter."

"Excuse me, please," Nurse Joy was behind the mass gathering of trainers, "The Pokémon Treatment Center will be open as a shelter. Anyone who needs a place to stay should come with me."

As most of the trainers followed Joy, Taiichi turned to Ayame and Mizuki, "So…does anyone remember why we're here again?"

Mizuki was about to point it out, but then she realized she didn't know either. "I can't say…"

They turned to Ayame now, who normally didn't forget anything, but she was drawing up a blank. However she was able to remember something she didn't expect. "I don't know…but I remember a story, told by my father."

"How did that happen?"

Ayame looked around, "I don't know. I was expecting some kind of trigger or something that would cause the memory to resurface, but I don't believe I see anything that could have done that."

Before Taiichi or Mizuki could speculate further, they heard Joy cry out, "Look, it's a miracle!"

The three of them went outside to find the storm that suddenly appeared was now parting just as mysteriously. "Strange. What do you think caused that?"

Ayame was looking to the clouds, trying to get a better look at something, and Taiichi noticed her. "Ayame?"

"For a split second, there was something flying between the clouds. A Pokémon perhaps."

Taiichi smiled as he looked to the clouds Ayame was pointing to, "Well you probably did then. There are many mysteries and rumors hidden all over our world. Who knows, maybe it was a Pokémon that no one has ever seen before."

Mizuki nudged his arm with her elbow, "Don't get all mystical on us now. It doesn't suit you." The two friends laughed together, though what brought this about they weren't entirely certain.

Nearby, one of the trainers from the wharf was watching them, he didn't intrude, though he felt a strange connection to them just the same. This mystery trainer turned away, continuing along his way, hoping to see this traveling trio again someday.

A/N: Slightly cliché chapter title, I know.

Since Servine has the Contrary ability, and seeing how Mewoth's clone seemed far more mellow in comparison to Team Rocket's Mewoth, I thought a similar personality discrepancy would befall Servine's clone. I can't wait to see a Serperior in 3d animation and that month of free use of the Pokébank and transfer system and get all of my Pokémon into X.
